Annie, was the person that assisted me from the beginning. This was a new experience for me to contact a Behavioral Health Clinic, and I had contacted several that week. What stood out for me with Annie was she followed up with me promptly and provided me with accurate information that made me comfortable in making a decision to make an appointment. I did not receive the same follow-up from the numerous other Clinics I contacted.I value an organization that will contact you within a reasonable amount of time. The spear of any business are always the first professionals that contacts the client. That intional contact, at least for me, sets the tone to be either positive or negative. Annie, to her credit, represents Ascendant in such a positive manner. Each and every phone call Ive made, she has patiently and professionally answered my questions and provided me with actionable information that I can take to the Bank. I value these practices and most times this type of experiences have been rare. The only reason Im trusting Ascendant with my precious Son, has a lot to do with her professionalism.
I have tried repeatedly to have a conversation with someone about a new patient. They just take your number and say someone will get back to you and they don’t. Then we were told to fill out a form online. Over a week later we were called and they told my daughter they can not help her, they do not have any therapists available.... Awful communication we waited 3 weeks for that.
First time using them after moving. My counselor, Candas elder, was super nice and the appointment was focused on my diagnosis. She told me I would receive a call to schedule an appointment for medication. Patiently waited to give the benefit of the doubt and never received a call back. Called front desk to see why this happened and the lady informed me I was supposed to call in. Was super frustrating because I trusted what I was told and waited. Also was informed my counselor never even submitted the referral to get medication. Now I’m at square one again. Super unprofessional to be so negligent about someone’s mental health because that person trusts you to do your job correctly. Super disappointing!! :(
Im a huge supporter of therapy, and I think everyone should have access to someone they can talk to, one way or another. Therapy is also trial and error; you might have to try a few therapists before you click with one. Im so grateful I clicked with Pat. Shes been a secure, safe, and reliable therapist for the past 10 months. I feel more stable in the week knowing Ill be going to see her. She and Ascendant have helped with my needs the whole way, and have given me resources to manage myself when the days are hard.
Where do I start?? For a mental health clinic.... well people are going there for many different reasons and for me..... well I am very particular about things. The staff seems to take this pretty well. I like to schedule my visits out, as well as take my time putting them into my phone and triple checking that I have the information right. They dont rush me, they dont push me aside when there are others waiting. They are great and I appreciate that. Always helpful and friendly and willing to see if schedules can be moved if my schedule doesnt align with the therapist. As far as my therapist.... well all I can really say is that Dr. Merkely is a miracle worker. She truly cares about her work and her patients and definitely chose the right career for her. She gets it, or at least can pretend to. 😉. I love seeking help to better myself with Dr. Merkely
I love my therapist, Stacey Rich! I love my doctor, Dr. Yau! I love the other staff members! This place has saved my life. They have also been very helpful and more than accommodating with helping me resolve insurance issues so that my treatment could continue uninterrupted. Also it is VERY difficult to find both therapists and medication management doctors that accept Medicare! I am so grateful for everything they have done for me!
I am very disappointed with this clinic. They seem to have great therapists but they accept too many clients and put their clients with serious mental health problems at risk by delaying treatment. When explaining to the clinical director that my family member was seriously struggling and needed multiple sessions a week, she said that would be no problem. However, we had to wait a week & 1/2 to be seen and then at that appointment were told their next available appointment wouldn’t be until one month from now. All that time we had waited we could have been finding a different clinic with better availability
I have never posted a negative review, but after months with this going unresolved, I am extremely upset. I initially had an appointment with a therapist that was asking me questions during my appointment and typing what I said as I spoke. While I was speaking she would stop to ask me how to spell words. This happened multiple times and the majority of my appointment was her either asking me to repeat myself so she could finish typing or stopping me to ask how to spell a word. I paid for this appointment and felt that my time and money was wasted. I called to speak with a manager to explain my situation and she so kindly offered to have me meet with a different therapist at NO CHARGE. At my new appointment I let the front desk know of the situation and was not charged at the time of service. I would have never subjected myself to paying DOUBLE when my first experience was so very poor. Since then I have continued to receive bills for the second appointment and have let them know that I was told I would not be charged several times. This has been the worst service I have ever experienced, both from the therapist and the dishonest staff.
I had problems with scheduling back in May with this particular clinic. After getting fed up with having my appointment rescheduled multiple times, I decided to give it another try in November. I sat in the waiting room for 20+ minutes with no update on where my new therapist was, and I can only hope I wasnt charged for a full hour while I sat waiting. For someone who has to work up a lot of nerve to even come in for help, it is really disheartening to be treated like your time and issues dont matter to them. This is specifically for the Lehi location. The Murray location was great from my experience there.
Worst service ever! Pray you dont get William because he will tell you one thing and then not follow up and not care whatsoever about what you need assistance with. Ive never had such a bad experience and all I needed was him to help me with an FMLA application.
I have been going for more than a month now and I finally feel like Ive found a way to really get my life back on track. I love the range of therapists they have and the fact that they dont push you to do things you dont want to do.They also have a psychiatrist if medication is the better option.
The office is clean and professional. I love the therapist I see there
Often I go see a doctor of any kind and I feel like they rush to an assessment and/or solution before I truly feel like Ive voiced all my concerns/thoughts. Here I felt valued. The doctor did a great job
Friendly and helpful staff, fabulous therapist, nice facility, short waiting period.
Absolutely a wonderful, friendly, professional staff! Very helpful to your every need. I highly recommend Ascendant Behavioral Health!
What a wonderful group of dynamic healing people. Love the front desk team and Marie is amazing! Dont walk, RUN in to this great place!
They are a friendly and professional staff. I like how easily we can get a hold of my daughters therapist when we need her. I would highly recommend them.
One star for: 1. office staff was friendly and easy to work with and 2. our therapists were helpful, too.But the billing department is terrible!!!! I have been so frustrated trying to figure out what we actually owe and pay on our accounts. There has been so much back and forth and things that dont add up when I call for explanations, I feel like it is bordering on dishonesty and fraud. We generally always paid our co-insurance amount each time we came into the office. On a few occasions we didnt and were billed. I would talk to the front desk staff and ask what the balance on our account was and what days it was for and pay it off then and there. Then I kept getting bills in the mail for various balances that I was pretty sure I paid. I went back and forth with the billing department and finally paid them because they were small amounts and the time and headache wasnt worth the fight. All of these appointments were in 2017. Our last therapy appointment for any family member was Dec 2017. Then Feb 1 2018, I get a statement from the billing department saying that we had credits on two family members accounts. Finally! I thought. It seemed that finally billing had caught up with their mistakes and finished processing things or whatever and realized that we had been double charged and then double payed. I was busy and let the credits sit for a few months. Today I called in to see how we could get our money back for the credits. Mind you, we have not set foot in the office since Dec 2017. I was told that there was no credit on one of the accounts (supposed to be a $37 credit) and that we actually owed money on that account that they had written off and really they should be charging us! (I dont see how in the world that was possible - I called the billing department multiple times to try to make sure everything was squared away and we had everything paid off!)And then I was told on the other account (should have been $19 credit) that they rolled that credit into an office visit for September 15, 2017. How does that work when on Feb 1, 2018, they sent me a statement saying that I have a $19 credit. Everything should have been over and done with and processed for a september 2017 visit at that time! It is RIDICULOUS!!! And it sure seems like fraud! I am so upset. If it isnt dishonesty and fraud, it is complete ineptness in the billing department and they need a major overhaul. It is unfortunate that poor billing procedures are going to drive away potential clients from talented therapists.
The therapists are amazing, this is the first time I found an excellent and professional behavior clinic. I totally recommend.
They have good therapist but expect to have your timeslot ripped out from ya to be given to someone else. I had this happen to me and it sucks. I only found this out when I showed up to my session. They offered to reschedule me but not all of us can be available whenever. Not worth it.
Pat Merkley in Lehi is an amazing therapist! She was also very accomodating when miscommunication with my appointments happened. She takes great care!
Professional service. Very accommodating to individual needs.
This place is terrible. If I could give it zero stars I would.
This clinic committed fraud. The assured me that their clinician took my insurance, then ran my insurance card and told me they were a provider. After running the insurance and seeing my benefits, they told me their office was a provider and the sessions would only be my $20 copay and. After 3 sessions they then billed me for $396 dollars (plus the $60 I had paid with my 3 copays) and have informed me that is my responsibility to pay because their therapists contract expired, and that their office isnt actually a provider with my insurance at all.
