Company was respectful, understanding, quick, and capable. Even more impressive, they have great customer service and take pride in their work, so if for some reason something isnt what you expected, they will address it.I called them after we opened up a wall in the basement that seemed to have mold growing through it, only to find the internal wall completely saturated with black-colored mold. I was in a panic when I called. Brett called me back same day, gave an initial opinion based on my photos, and listened when I told him my two biggest concerns, which were getting the area sanitized as soon as possible and being able to afford it. Brett was understanding and honest. He helped me choose which options best worked for us. The crew that came to our house - Ethan, Mana, and Jake - were respectful and did a thorough job. When I called with a concern I had after the first day (turned out to be a misunderstanding between my husband and I), Brett personally came back out to address it and make sure the work was everything we had expected. Couldnt be happier. Thank you!
Experts? What a joke. These guys made the situation worse and now want to collect $2000 more from me than my insurance is willing to pay them. All the insurance comps show they are overcharging. They sent out some rookies who didnt know what they were doing. The Expert Restoration experts made a huge mess and basically took a just start hacking to the situation. They ruined carpet that was perfectly fine and now the insurance company will not replace since the damage was caused by Expert Restorations fine staff of experts. I also asked them for initial cost estimates several times and they kept telling me we dont know, a project manager will be out. Did I see anyone? Nope. The supposed project manager the kids phoned into had one concern and that was if I had signed their agreement form. He made sure to ask three times about that one and now I see why. They are now threatening me with a lein as their first contact since I last heard from them a few weeks ago regarding payment. Its probably been 45 days since in total since the work was performed. The last conversation I had with Expert Restoration had them working with my insurance on payment. Looks like my insurance paid them market rate and now they want more. They ended up charging a total of $6000 for roughly 10 hours of labor. My bet, they probably paid the two kids who did the work $15 an hour, and they spent twice as much time as needed making a huge mess. No hardware, no parts to buy, just some kids hacking up my basement for 10 hours at a rate of $6000. Great customer service. What a bunch of d-bags. When you have a crisis like this you need help from true experts. These guys are chumps, not experts. Call someone else. CALL ANYONE BUT THESE PEOPLE!! Do it yourself. Have your blind neighbor do it. Trust me, anyone is better than this crew of crooks. Ill be filing my next complaint with the BBB.
They were very quick to come out and help us. Pretty expensive company for the amount of work, but oh well. They were good to work with otherwise and had good connections to other builders and contractors. We really like their sister company that does the rebuilds.
Brad was an expert, his knowledge and work. Ethics are the best. He was very good at keeping up with letting us know what was going on. He helped us with a plumber and someone to clean up hazard material. I so enjoyed the whole crew. And I would diffently recommend your company to others. Thanks so much. Lorna
I found myself in the unfortunate situation with a water leak and turned to Google find a company to help me. Unfortunately that lead me to Expert Restoration, they are experts all right, experts at ripping you off. Their crew was highly unskilled and did not seem to know what they were doing. The lead guy ended up disclosing that he had only just started, which was evident by the damage they caused. This company is terrible. They are only here to take advance of people in a distressed situation and nothing more. Do not hire them. You have been warned.
We walked into the basement with soaked carpet. A pipe had burst and flooded the area. We called Expert Restoration. Even though it was 11:00 at night, Mana came right over. He was kind and efficient. He pulled back the carpet and set up fans. He went over instructions and explained he would be back in the morning to assess the damage and start the clean up process. We really appreciated his professionalism and hard work!
We had sewage back up and flood our finished basement on a Sunday and they were able to start helping us out the day it happened and get rid of the awful smell. They were fast, professional, and friendly. They did a great job. I would definitely recommend.
Do not use these people are liars Paul and Dillon are scammers
We had an issue with our insurance company and Dillon went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Juan and Jake were timely and helpful in removing carpet and drywall the week of Christmas. Everyone was professional and kind during a really awful week. I highly recommend Expert Restoration!
Excellent service!!! Highly recommended!!! Juan came in with his crew and dried out my house very quickly. I had two thirds of my house drenched by Hurricane Laura. Everyone checked on us daily to make sure everything was good. We highly recommend these guys and I would call them again. Hopefully we don’t go through this again but if we do I will call Juan!!!
These guys do awesome work. I came home from a business trip to my basement flooded. I called them up and they got to my house very quickly. They got to work immediately and they got it done very fast and efficient. They also took great care of all of my belongings that they had to move. I would definitely recommend.
Juan came out to our house and did a fantastic job. Good communication and was very upfront. We would definitely use them again.
We used expert about 5 years ago and were happy with them. Used them again last week and was so frustrated that we fired them the second day.nobody knew what had to be done let alone why it has to be done. Did not do an asbestos test just started cutting walls the new company did one(yes they were positive for asbestos).Picking up dripping wet items and putting them on dry personal items. (Common sense)Picked up a soaking wet box and 10 quarts of homemade marinara sauce( expecting it to hold )they fell through the bottom and broke on the floor splattering all over other belongings, including vintage oil paintings family heirlooms. didnt even try to clean it up..I had to do it.. The response when we told supervisor was.. I understand your frustrations, but I also understand this positions too, they just wanted to hurry up and get the stuff out... WHAT THE HECK!?!?!?It took 4hrs to get here . The first day.when they came to get thier equiptment, after being fired,The supervisor tried to trick me into thinking what I was signing was about the equiptment ... When the only thing it pertained to was that I was COMPLETELY satisfied.. And they completed the job...UM NOT!!!!! The supervisor ON THE FIRST DAY ... Was careful and with items...The Disrespect towards my wife and 10 yr. Old.. wearing pants that showed thier butt cheaks... SO inapropriate.. Made both of us uncomfortable... When she spoke too them... The response was,Oh well, Im not from this country... WHAT?!?!?!?Had to hire another company to finish the job.So disappointing and two days lost waiting for them. The only reason I am giving them 1 start is cause I cant go any less....never again!!
Ethan was a great young man that came into my home when I was very stressed out. I had many concerns about mold in the home after having a big flood in our basement. The whole process went smoothly and they were able to dis infect for mold. My insurance was trying to give me a run around and Expert Restoration helped me through it all! Will definitely use if needed in the future and recommend.
Juan did an awesome job taking care of us over a holiday weekend. He was quick to respond and helped us through the whole process. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
In summary, we are extremely dissatisfied with the ‘service’ that Expert Restoration provided us. To make things brief, they broke a lot of stuff including a 157-year-old heirloom chest and ripped custom cabinetry off the walls. They charged 44% over the market rate, lied a lot and wouldnt come back out after we found more water a month later that they hadnt dried up. They have an F with the Better Business Bureau for a reason. Call Five-Star Restoration or Utah Disaster Cleanup. If you want the long version of the nightmare that was working with them, read on. We just don’t want anyone else to have to experience we did.Long version Ive included some pictures of the damage on a few of the items so you can get an idea but they dented and scratched our new fridge. They broke a 157-year-old cedar chest that survived a wagon ride but didnt survive these guys. We had several thousand in damages to property that isnt covered by insurance that they caused. They used crowbars to pull the cabinets off the walls, destroying $12,000 worth of custom cabinets, Ive even included a picture of where they took a saw to one of the cabinet doors... Why you would need to saw a cabinet door that opens and has a quick release to take it off is beyond me.So for insurance, you need to have flooring samples so they can analyze what the flooring originally cost. They took all of the old flooring with them. When the adjuster came and asked for a carpet sample I didnt have one. When I asked Expert Restoration for one they said they didnt have one but would go to a flooring store and get the nicest carpet there to give to my insurance. They wanted me to commit insurance fraud and felt like that was the best option. The insurance and I worked things out without doing something illegal. As far as them charging 44% over market rate. I had seen other reviews saying that theyd been charged a lot, so beforehand I got a statement from the foreman Juan saying that we wouldnt be charged over the Xactimate estimate or what my insurance would pay. Xactimate is a tool used by most credible companies to establish a price. Juan told me they used Xactimate and that we wouldnt be billed more than that. When the bill came for over $14,000, I thought there was no way it cost that much. My insurance agent also said it was very high, like almost 10k over. My insurance adjuster went through their Xactimate estimate and I also have a friend who is a Xactimate expert go through it. The reason it was so high is that they charged for removal of moldy material (which is rightfully more expensive) but they got to my house within 3 hours of the flood so we had no mold. They also charged overhead and profit on each line item, then again on the whole bill, inflating everything by 44%. Also, as you can see from one of the pictures, they brought a bunch of fans in, then just left them sitting there not on or even set up but billed me for them. When speaking with billing they told me they didnt use Xactimate so either Juan lied or they did but their bill has Xactimate billing codes on it and the bill appears to be made in Xactimate. As for them not doing or completing their job, a month later we had our contractor out who was putting our house back together. We had to pull up the rest of the flooring in one of the bedrooms. There was still water and now mold under that flooring even after they ‘tested’ and didn’t find any. I called the office twice, and called and texted my foreman Juan 4 times and they kept saying, “Yeah well get someone out to fix it,” but they never came. So we had to pay another company to come out and fix the mold problem that Expert Restoration caused by not doing their job. Please use another company and dont let them prey on more people. I consider myself lucky, despite all the damage, and got that statement from Juan which saved me more than $8,000. It was truly a nightmare and no one should have to do that to get decent service.
I was home when Expert Restoration was called. Water had gone through window wells into two bedrooms downstairs. We were in the middle of cleaning up the water with towels and a shop vac when Juan came over. He told me not to worry about continuing to clean the water that it wasnt worth it. We then decided to start moving the furniture out of the rooms, and Juan once again told me not to do it. I asked him a second time as help had arrived from various family members for the clean up. One person was already using a sump pump to get the remaining from the window wells. The plan was to then start removing the furniture, but Juan once again said there was no need. We asked him to just clean the two rooms. Juan insisted that a third room where the water hadnt breached would also need mitigation. He gave no estimate and did not say that he was going to take out all the flooring in that room. He took out the flooring, baseboards, door frames in the hallway, the bathroom, and all three bedrooms. It was not needed in all those areas. They do unneeded work to hike up their prices. Additionally, I heard him say that there would be no trouble with insurance covering the cost and if there was any issue, they had a really good lady at the office who could explain and work with the insurance. Therefore, all that was needed to cover the cost would be the deductible which was verbally agreed upon.
The guys were really quick to respond to my situation. They were out working on stuff within a couple hours of getting a phone call. They worked really hard and really efficiently which I greatly appreciated. I felt like I wanted a little more communication from the one supervising to walk me through invoice, payment, process, timeline etc, but he was very nice and easy to work with. My ONLY thing is that I got brand new carpet less than a month ago...and instead of cutting on seams, they just very sloppily & jaggedly cut wherever the moisture ended. Im sure thats protocol, but it was absolutely horrifying to find that so some communication on that end would have been nice. All in all though, hard workers, quick, seemed to try and keep things as neat as they could given the disaster of a situation they were dealing with.
If I could leave zero stars, I WOULD. This company is dishonest. Do not use them.We had a small flood in our 800 square foot basement, their crew was there for 5 hours and they billed us $10,000 and our insurance only covered $5,000. When we contacted them asking them if they could work on the total they continue to say how horrible insurance companies are. We contacted other disaster cleanup companies and they all said we were charged double of what it should have been. This company will put you in a loan with a 60% interest rate with a company called, ‘quick recovery funding’. They did unnecessary work to our basement, ripped a dresser that was screwed in the wall off, and did damage to other Sheetrock. Paul Goodwin claims he feels they are priced fairly, but if that were true they wouldn’t have multiple complaining about being over charged and they wouldn’t have to flag horrible reviews. If you look on yelp they have actually tried to bribe someone by if they remove their negative reviews they will clear their debt with expert restoration.
Our basement flooded just 2 weeks after we completely remodeled it. The situation was super frustrating but I got ahold of Expert Restoration immediately and they were out at my house within the same day. The boys working in our home were very respectful and professional and the quality of their work was precise and clean. All for a great price, too! 10/10 recommend!
I contacted Jerry at Expert Restoration on Sunday evening. He was willing to have someone come out immediately and they begin restoration the next day. Jerry was in constant communication with me to make sure things were going OK and to go above and beyond to ensure the safety and comfort of our family. This is the second time I have used Expert Restoration And I deliberately called Jerry because I knew I would have a professional and thorough cleanup. I would not hesitate to recommend Expert Restoration to anyone. They did an amazing job, they were professional in every way as well as easy to work with. Thank you for a great job well done
I flooded my upstairs bathroom & bedroom leading to the rooms below. In the emergency late at night, I googled who to call and Expert Restoration popped up. I’m glad they did because they were the best company to work with! Juan immediately answered my phone call and came over with a crew of people and fans. During the few days of drying out, he kept in close communication with my about insurance, estimates, and dollars to the cent. I had never worked with an insurance company before and Stefanie made it so very easy as well as being patient and informative. She answered every one of my calls and questions. I probably would have delayed the process from insurance confusion, but Juan would check up on me often checking up on our insurance coverage until at last they paid out and Juan put our house back together so nicely! You would never know anything had been flooded!!!!!! Juan & Stefanie were seriously so easy and helpful to work with- I can’t express it enough!!!!! Everyone who came into my house with Expert Restoration was respectful & efficient at their job.
My wife and I were on vacation when my 16 year old called and told me the kitchen sink was left on overnight. I called the first restoration company that came up when I typed in Google and I couldn’t be more satisfied with the outcome of this companies work. My wife and I traveled home early expecting the process to take much longer than it did but the workers who worked on our home did it very fast and precise. I am quite impressed to say the least.
They lie about the what they complete, run up the bill, and then sue you if you want an explanation. They have filled dozens of lawsuits in the last year against their customers. AVOID THESE GUYS.
High quality work for a very reasonable price. I was skeptical about calling after reading a couple of the bad reviews, especially regarding the insurance dilemmas but my neighbor had them over and spoke very highly of them so I decided to reach out and they were out at my house within the next two hours. The mess completely gone before my husband got home from work! I am very satisfied and would highly recommend to anyone who’s looking for any sort of restoration services.
Very professional and friendly staff. Super easy to work with and very responsive, as well. There’s a handful of restoration companies out there and it can be hard to know which one to let into your home or business but these guys are who I trust and recommend to anyone who needs any help!!!!
I am extremely pleased with their service. When I called to have someone come out (sunday night, after hours) they dispatched someone right away. Juan showed up to my home, and was extremely professional and kind. He said they would get someone out the very next day. The next day two young men showed up. Joe and Jake. These young men were very kind and professional. They were also very knowledgeable. They answered my questions with ease and continued to stay in contact like they said they would. Highly recommended. Thanks guys!
Expert restoration was very prompt and had their technician here within the hour. The whole process was very smooth and they helped me through the whole thing. When the insurance bill came they were good with showing what was done and making sure the insurance paid the full bill. Would definitely use again!
They got to my home quickly after I called them. They did a great job keeping it clean and were done in a good time frame. They gave me a fair price and I was very happy with the way the whole process went!
These guys arrived to my house soon after I called them. They did a great job and got it done quickly! The price was fair and i’m very happy with the outcome.
I recently had a flood in my basement through the window wells. I quickly called and they were fast to come over and assess the damage. The crew was there within the hour and did a great job cleaning and only tearing up what they needed to, nothing more for my insurance to deal with.
We couldn’t be more pleased with the team at Expert Restoration! If you need their services in the first place, you know you’re already in a stressful situation... so their professionalism and genuine concern for our equipment were an absolute blessing. They are punctual and show the highest quality in everything they do. While we hope to never require their services again, you can bet they’d be the first (and only) company we’ll call if we need them!
My Son’s best friend who is Cameron Westfall works with you guys! From start to finish the whole process was smooth, fast and easy. You guys did an amazing job on drying out the rooms. The prep work, cleanup and equipment setup was perfectly done. You guys are awesome and responsive to any questions and detailed everything so that it was easily understood.Thank you so much!
They helped me when I had a flood in my basement. I was very satisfied with the results. They were very professional and got the job done quickly. Would highly recommend.
I had a flood in my home and they were super quick and understanding of my situation. They were super nice and easy to work with. Would highly recommend
Expert Restoration and Jerry Lovelace were great to work with. We had a flood in our pool house with freezing temperatures outside—nine degrees to be exact. Jerry was there quickly and had his staff there shortly after that to start the drying process. My floors were saved. I am extremely pleased with Expert Restoration’s quick response and excellent service.
Fast response when i called them over. Got the job done right and didnt gouge my pockets. Overall extremely pleased with the work they did
They were awesome and very professional! I would highly recommend them to anyone! They responded very fast to my call and were very respectful when working.
Expert restoration was very easy to work with and got everything done in a timely manner. Everything was explained so I could understand. The price was fair and they worked with my insurance. I especially liked how they made sure the job was complete before they left my home. Would definitely have them clean up the next time my home floods.
Today I flooded my neighbors crawl space. My insurance State Farm declined the claim . Expert Restoration came out and helped me with taking care of my neighbor and genuinely cared about making it right. Thank you Thank you. Brenda
Great service! I had some damage from a flood and they came to help. They were there within the hour and walked me through the while process. They helped to make sure the insurance paid the whole bill as well. Will definitely use this service again.
I didnt in the end use Expert Restoration (because my Landlord did the work himself), but these guys were right there ready to do the job and get me safe. Someone broke into my front door (which is glass) in the middle of the night. I had no way of securing my house and cold cold weather was coming. At 2 am, Jerry was ready to drive down to me and secure my place. When emergencies happen you want to work with someone that is kind and understanding as well as ready to do the work - these are the right people.
Called to have someone look at some mold I found while doing a flooring project. They came that night to evaluate the situation and the next day they removed the mold. Everyone was extremely polite and the crew was very clean and efficient. I would recommend this place to anyone in the same situation!
Juan was great to work with to fix extensive damage done when I flooded my upstairs master bath. He was responsive to my texts, great to work with insurance, honest in all he said, and the work was wonderful! I hope I never need a restoration company again, but if I do I will call them.
This is a great company, they work great with their customers and help them work with the insurance. When the insurance tries to cut the bill they make sure it all gets paid and always do what they can to make the clients happy! Would definitely recommend!
This company deserves 0 stars after the deceitful practices they employ. DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY!They might respond fast, but that is ONLY to get your credit card information and to sign a blank check contract that says they can and will charge you whatever they want. Thats right dont expect them to work with your homeowners insurance, they refuse to negotiate a fair market value for their services. Their invoice will be ridiculously higher and they expect you to pay the balance out of your own pocket, yep, on top of your insurance deductible. A Dept of Insurance investigation will not require your insurance company to pay the astronomical difference, and they shouldnt have to! They will lecture you on the evils of insurance companies, threaten and attempt to intimidate you with nasty emails, interest and fees, legal action, intent to lien letters and actual mechanics liens on your property to compel you to pay their overpriced invoice.AVOID my pain and suffering by calling any OTHER company that this one.
From start to finish the whole process was smooth, fast and easy. Dallan did an outstanding job on drying out the rooms. The prep work, cleanup and equipment setup / placement was expertly done.Ryan was very responsive to any questions I had and detailed everything so that it was easily understood. Thanks again.
Ryan responded promptly to our basement flood emergency. His crew, Ethan and Brandon, did an amazing job of cleaning up and drying things out. They were very professional, courteous, hard working and respectful of our furniture and household effects.I highly recommend Expert for quick response time, competence, the proper specialized equipment, and efficient professional service. Their pricing was reasonable and they also worked efficiently with my insurance company.
I would highly recommend Expert Restoration. They did a great job fixing the water damage in my home. They made sure that they did the best job they possibly could and left me happy with the results. Great company!
I had a problem with a rental property I own. Expert worked with my insurance company (which was not easy) and they made it happen! I later called them with a potential water issue in my home. They were there in less than 30 minutes and handled it, no problem at all. Thank you to Paul, Juan and Ryan for doing such a great job.
Wonderful company. They came in and got the job done in a respectful manner. They also made sure they did the best job they could. I would highly recommend!
Our faucet bib cracked and flooded our basement. We called Expert Restoration at 8pm and they were at our house within an hour. They worked until midnight to salvage as much of our basement as possible. And then they came early the next day to continue working on it. They were punctual and communicative. Highly recommend.
Jerry did a great job organizing the clean up of our basement after it flooded. He was easy to work with and genuinely showed concerned for our home. He even checked up on us after the clean up was complete to ensure we were being taken care of by the contractors he had recommended. I would highly recommend working with Expert Restoration and Jerry!
They are very quick and easy to work with. You can tell they know what they’re doing and I’m happy with the service they provided!
Scam artists! They take advantage of the fact that youre in an emergency. Was told one price up front and later another. Blamed the insurance company when they very well know what an insurance company will cover and what they wont. Oh and its very troubling that the owner has to have 5 star reviews of his own company.
Very professional, practical and good. Ryan was a very easy person to get along with, and the experience given the situation was a very positive one. If your in a bind and you need repairs, I highly recommend them.
My wifes company (My Buddy the Plumber) got their carpets and truck mats cleaned by Expert Restoration (and believe me, it was SORELY NEEDED, being a plumbing company and all). I was there observing, and I can confidently say that Experts Juan Acevedo did an excellent job! He was courteous, professional, explained every step of the process, and was quick and efficient. Now I can see why My Buddy The Plumber recommends Expert to their clients who need restoration services. Well done!
I am a older fellow who would rather do these types of things myself but I was not capable to do so. So I was forced to called Expert Restoration, I am very glad that I made this decision because they did a much better job then I could of done and they did it with such good quality and efficiency.
Had a crazy emergency in our bathroom and these guys responded insanely fast. Ethan was very professional and we really enjoyed his help. Would recommend to everyone!!
Would give negative stars if I could!!! Damaged my washer and dryer and committed to getting them fixed. Several months later they no longer respond to my messages and haven’t fixed anything. DO NOT HAVE THEM DO ANY WORK AS THEY ARE EXPENSIVE AND A RIP-OFF!!
They did not arrive when they said they would on any os the times they came out. They also coukd not remember the time they set up for the return appointment. When they cleaned up the flood damage in my home they covered my wood floors well but did a bad job on my carpet. This left dirty spots on the carpet and even in to my bathroom which way not covered up at all. They also said they would help with the insurance company and they did almost nothing. I was told I would receive copies of emails that they were sending to the insurance company and I never saw anything. They just sent me a link to file a complaint against my insurance and said they could not do anything else. They were all talk. Would not go to them again.
Highly recommend you use this company!! They were very responsive and respectful. I had a small flood in the middle of the night and they came super fast. Great company!
Check their BBB reviews. Dont sign anything. These guys over charged us by double. Will not work the insurance company. They find out how much you are getting back and try to lean your property for that amount. Please do your research call someone else dont make the same mistake we did.
On May 14th, 2020, at 10:30 pm my wife discovered our basement was flooding. Our insurance agent was out of town and we were unable to get contact with her until we had already contacted a disaster company. We frantically looked on google for the number to, ‘Utah Disaster Cleanup’ and called the number we found. What we had not realized until we got the bill was, we did not call who we thought we were calling. When you google, ‘Utah Disaster Cleanup,’ the first thing to come up is an Ad from, ‘Expert Restoration’. The link says, ‘Utah Disaster Cleanup Services - Flood, Fire, & Smoke Cleanup’ and directly under the link it says, ‘Expert Restoration.’ Expert Restoration showed up to our home a little after midnight and left a little before five am. The cleanup crew was two younger men, who were at our home or about five hours. I asked for a bid and they said they cannot give a bid until the work is done.We had no major issues until the bill came. The $9,755.60 seemed to be way higher than what was expected since our basement is only 800 square feet and they were there for only five hours. After doing some research online, I found that this price was roughly double what it should have cost. We also spoke with our insurance agent and she said that was the highest bill she has ever seen in nearly 30 years of working in insurance. She called a few other disaster companies to get a price comparison and they all said the bill was double of what it should have been. My insurance adjuster has tried to reach out to Expert Restoration to try to understand the total but was given little to no explanation. In our claim representatives notes he said, ‘vendor pricing is not supported. No information provided as far as to why their pricing is so much higher and exceeds the going rate in the area. Vendor was not cooperative. If added information can be provided to support such price difference things can always be reviewed.’ When we have communicated with Paul Goodwin (Co-owner of Expert Restoration) about pricing, he continues to say he feels that the price is fair. The amount my insurance was able to cover as fair market price has been paid. My insurance company could only come up with validation for $5.003.00 which they paid, leaving us with the balance of $4,752.60.I have seen the many negative reviews and complaints against this company on the Better Business Bureau website along with a Get Gephardt investigation all with the overcharging issues. We tried to look at the reviews on Yelp and a consumer alert popped up on the bottom that says, ‘We caught someone red-handed trying to pay someone to write, change, prevent, or remove a review for this business. We weren’t fooled but wanted you to know because these actions not only hurt consumers, but also honest businesses who play by the rules.’ Yelp obtained this evidence of someone trying to compensate a Yelper to remove the bad review. A user sent Yelp the image of the bribe from Expert Restoration asking them to remove all their negative feedback and they would clear the owing balance.Within 30 days we started receiving calls from a company by the name of, ‘Quick Recovery Funding’, they were attempting to collect on the bill for Expert Restoration. Paul Goodwin told us we have a loan with his company and if we did not pay in full, he would be forced to start charging the 5% interest as per the promissory note we signed. I had no idea what he was talking about and asked him to email me the documents. It seems that at midnight when I was handed paperwork to sign to start cleanup of my flooded basement, buried in the paperwork was a promissory note binding me to Quick Recovery Funding as my new creditor. Making this even more suspicious, is the fact that Mr. Goodwin owns BOTH Expert Restoration and Quick Recovery Funding. He has called us, telling us if we do not pay, he will add $500 a month to the bill. Along with everything Mr. Goodwin sent me via email, he also sent me letters with my name signed at the bottom that I did not write.
The other day my kid broke our toilet and it started to flood. So I called Expert Restoration and they came and within the hour and fixed it up. They were very respectful and worked great with our insurance company. I would highly recommend using this service.
Awesome company. Josh Hansen and his partner took great care of tearing out everything that had been destroyed from Hurricane Florence. They were kind and compassionate to us as human beings. Very hard working men. Adam the project manager actually did his job and checked up on the quality of his men’s work which was actually refreshing to us. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone in need of this type of service. I am just hoping I never have to need this company again. Thank you Expert Restoration for doing what you do.
When disaster came these guys were right by my side and helped me through the whole process. The were very professional and kept everything clean, it was easy to tell that they work to keep the customer happy. When the insurance gave the bill these guys were very careful in getting everything covered so I didn’t have to pay any more than necessary. Their young crew chief who had just gotten back from a mission was very polite and clean and just overall professional. I highly recommend these guys!
They did a very good and timely job of flood restoration in my home after Tropical Storm Imelda in Beaumont, TX. I needed cleanup ASAP so I could get contractors doing repairs before they got taken by all the other storm victims. Their managers supervising the job in my home and even their local hired hands were all good guys and pleasant to deal with. They made sure that I was satisfied and they were willing to work things out with my flood insurance adjuster. My other contractors are in working now and they also think these guys did a very good job. Watch out for some of the other companies after a disaster. Some others cannot be trusted no matter how nice they smile. My insurance guy educated me on what he sees from some of the others. But you wont go wrong with this company.
If I could give 0 stars I would. Charges way more than they should. Refuse to justify prices with our insurance adjuster. Sells our contract to his side business. Complete scam.
Came almost immediately! Did a great job at a great price and they were super nice. Definitely recommend!
They responded quick and my house was in much better shape because of them! My basement got several flooded from a blown water line in my wall and they saved me a lot money getting to my house quickly and addressing the damages
I had some damage in my home and I called these guys and almost instantly they were on the job, they did a good quality restoration and very quickly. Very pleased with this company.
In all honesty I didn’t expect this great of service. Ryan and his team quickly came in and took care of my house. In times like these when everything seems to be falling apart it’s nice to know that there are people who actually care about helping you and for an affordable price. Great service. Highly recommend.
This company is best described as fraudulent and sneaky. You don’t have to trust my word for it, just read all the 1 star reviews on here and the BBB. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out their business model. Do not trust anything they verbally tell you. They purposely lie to you to get your business and sign a completely unfair contract. They over charge by double and do uneeded work to up your bill. Just look up their name and Get Gephardt.
We had a small fire in our garage, but a lot of smoke damage. We looked up restoration company’s and called Expert. They were responsive and quick to get us help. We have loved working with Jerry. He is kind, honest, and knowledgeable. We would work with him again in a heartbeat. Heaven forbid we have another fire or another home disaster, but if we did we would call Expert Restoration (and Jerry) for help!
Worst company to work with EVER. Total insurance fraud. They claim to have done a bunch of work they never did. I had done all the cleanup and demo, as well as the drywall work after the fact. They charged my insurance company for these items, then sent me to collections for the work id done myself when the insurance company wouldnt pay them (for work they hadnt done). They never did get all the moisture out of my floor, so it buckled again after they were done. Here I am two years later, and they charged my credit card for the items that I HAD DONE MYSELF.NEVER CALL THESE CROOKS. Zero Stars.
Heres the dirty truth about how Expert Restoration operates:They charge two to three times more then industry-standard. Just because they can. They purposely charge more than your insurance will cover so they can come after you, the unsuspecting customer, for the difference. They often claim “we do better work then our competitors.” How can that be? Do they have more blades in the fans they charge you double for? Are they superior at cleaning mold? It’s laughable. They know most people wont read their contract word for word (since youre under distress), which gives them the upper hand to take advantage of people in stressful disaster situations. They prey on the elderly. Just read the latest BBB complaint for proof of a 75 year old victim. They will charge your credit card without warning you. Often months afterwards. As of April, they have a funding company that will charge 5% interest/60% APR. It appears Paul, the owner of Expert, also owns this funding company. They couldnt get a collections company to work with them, so this is their latest scam. Basically, they have found a way to make someone else the bad guy now. Take the heat off Expert. Beware that some people have reported getting tangled with the funding company without even knowing it.They were on Get Gephart last year. Just Google Expert Restoration Gephardt. They charge overhead and profit, which is not customary. Most insurance companies won’t cover these charges.Their 5 star reviews are fake. They are left by employees or the owners to cover the truth. But the truth is on here, Yelp and BBB, where they have a D rating and an alert because of so many complaints. They also have an alert on Yelp for bribing a customer to remove a review. They removed the option to review them on Facebook because they saw that unhappy customers were talking to each other. They flag negative Google reviews they dont like, so they can keep their fake higher rating average. If people cancel their credit cards or the charges are blocked, they will sue you. They claim to always win, but thats not true.Their workers are paid on commission, so they have incentive to charge more. They are also known to often owe employees back wages. They are widely known to their competitors because of their bad reputation. Multiple insurance companies report terrible experiences interacting with anyone in their office.Beware that this company is dishonest, unethical and completely lacking in decency and integrity. To take advantage of innocent people in disaster situations is disgusting. They bully, threaten and intimidate innocent people until they get what they want. Expert Restoration and anyone associated with this company are all scam artists on another level.
Great experience! Had some water issues and Jerry came within an hour of my call. He was knowledgeable, helpful, and respectful. While the damage I had didn’t need a crew to come come in and fix, he left me with information and additional contacts. Honest and friendly, I would call again.
This was an awesome company that came at my time of need and if I ever need them again I would use them in a heartbeat
Great company! They were here within the hour and they did great work. They also worked very well with our insurance company! Definitely use this service!
Perfect customer assistance! When I tried to reach them, they responded immediately and analyzed the problem. They gave me to the right people to fix my problem. They continued to follow up and its a job well done! They were so kind, organized, time-savy, and efficient. I would highly recommend them! Cameron thanks.
Great customer service! The workers came within the hour and did a great job. They fixed all the water damage and did it in a timely fashion. I would definitely recommend using this company for any water damage.
Ryan arrived promptly after we called and did a great job of educating us on what was happening and how to fix it. He took the time to answer our questions and explained the restoration steps in detail. Highly recommend!
Super professional and friendly service. They made the whole process go very smoothly and did a good job working with my insurance. I would recommend them to anyone.
Cameron Thank you so much! Your work is a job well done! I will always recommend expert restoration to anybody. Your customer services are the best.
***PLEASE READ****DO NOT USE this company unless you are 100% sure your insurance company will cover the entire amount. When Dakota came to our house when our basement flooded, I told her the insurance may not cover it. They didnt give an estimate or a price list. If you do use them, please do yourself a favor and ask for both. They came in, did a good job cleaning up and I even wrote a good review. (They have you write the review before they give you a bill). These guys would be great if they were up-front and were honest about the cost of their services. Our basement is 1,300 sq. ft and they charged us over $18,000 for the clean up (no mold or sewage). Then, the VERY DAY they gave us the bill, they asked to pick up a check and if we didnt pay by the end of the month theyd put a lien on our house. They offered no payment plan, just the offer of paying by check or credit card. We were devastated. We ended up hiring 2 independent adjusters and having other experts in the field come and give their expert opinion so we could fight it in court. ALL of the random experts we had come in said the cost should have been less than 1/2 that amount but Expert Restoration stood their ground. They kept saying it was industry standard, which I would have believed except for the fact that every other person we talked to disagreed. After close to a month, the insurance company decided to cover it and Expert Restoration got their check, which made me so sad that they got rewarded the full amount after charging so much and trying to scare us into paying an insane amount. And after all that, they charged us interest for paying late and blamed it on our insurance company.Sadly, I will NEVER recommend this company to anyone. It was honestly the worst business experience weve had. We are business owners, both of our families own businesses and Ive never seen anyone treated so poorly. Please go elsewhere. A couple places I found I could trust: Cameron with Disaster Doctors and Brent Bowthorpe with Class One Disaster Recovery were great in helping with our issue without doing a paid job for us.I dont know if Expert Restoration really believes their prices are fair or if they are blatantly taking advantage of people, but either way, youd do well to go elsewhere until they figure things out.UPDATE: Expert Restoration wrote two 1-star reviews on my husbands business even though they have never stepped foot inside. This is how unprofessional they are. He wrote that hes returning the favor for our negative reviews. And to the owner, Paul: we never asked family to write a negative review. The one who did was actually here during the whole ordeal and chose to write that review all on his own. All who wrote reviews for you were here and were involved, but thats pretty low of you to do what youve done.
Amazing customer service. When I called they came out immediately and assessed the situation. They connected me to the proper people to fix my problem. They continued to follow up and check on everything that was done making several trips to my home. They were kind, well organized, timely, and efficient. I would highly recommend them!
Great company! They were very respectful and got the job done in a jiffy. 10/10 would recommend!
Expert Restoration charges much higher prices than industry standard and their billing is inaccurate in addition to the high prices. The company refers to an online price list in their contract that actually doesnt provide any specific pricing information. The charges appear on the invoice which arrives momentarily after they finish the job. Insurance companies pay industry standard pricing (Xactimate pricing). My insurance company paid Expert Restoration the industry standard for their services. ER then began to harass and bully my insurance company and threatened them on my behalf (without talking to me) to turn them into the state for insurance fraud. My insurance company paid what was fair. Er then began to bully, threaten and harass me and my wife for the extra charges. If they had fairly disclosed their pricing practices I would have chosen another company. I ended up paying an extra $2,200 in addition to the $3,900 my insurance company paid (Industry standard). They originally wanted me to pay an extra $3200, but I pointed out some glaring and unfair charges on the invoice and those were removed to reduce the total additional out of pocket to $2,200. The services provided were totally standard and they didnt clean up after themselves properly. I received better service in the past from ServPro on a similar job. This company charges thousands more than others in the industry for comparable work. Their billing and business practices are unethical, unprofessional and abusive. Very dishonest company. It was an absolutely horrible experience to get scammed during an already devastating property loss.
Worked efficiently! Keep up the good work! Cameron kept me updated on everything that was happening. Highly recommended company. Kudos expert restoration!!!
Jerry was great!! I didnt know what the problem was, but he stopped by came in and told me what to do and didnt charge me. He was very helpful and answered my questions and was very happy about letting me now what I should do. A follow up email was also sent. WOW! dont find service like that anymore. Thank you! I will call again...hoping for a flood...lol...
Jerry with expert Restoration was so kind to come in and test our house for water damage. I would highly recommend using Jerry. He did our house extra. He came to check my neighbors house but I asked if he could do ours and he happily checked it with his scanner for free.
I had no problems with this company. They did everything perfect and and were very efficient. Great company.
The team that was sent was fast, precise, and worked well as a team. They answered all our questions. They helped to make a bad situation much easier to deal with.
We had some flooding and water damage in our condo; Adam came in and from the very beginning of the situation and made us feel like we were in good hands and that everything would be taken care of as quickly as possible.Ryan oversaw all of the work done in our place and he was great! He was very professional and did a great job explaining everything that his team would be doing. We were very impressed with their whole team and how quickly and professionally they took care of everything.
Jerry and his crew were very helpful and quick to respond to our flooding. I was super impressed with how careful they were with our property and respectful they were. Would definitely use again.
We had a leak in our basement and it turned moldy. Expert Restoration was recommended to me from a plumber. Jerry came out and gave me a quote. That same day Jerry had his crue out to my house clearing the mold. Everyone at Expert Restoration was professional and very timely. I would highly recommended them!
We had a basement wall that was penetrated with water soaking some wallboard and carpet. We pulled some carpet and attempted to dry out the pad and carpet ourselves. After a couple of days, we found this was futile. We called and Expert Restoration came and the same day were here with dehumidifiers and fans and started the drying process. They were a few days late in getting back to us for repairs and completion, but they were very friendly and gave good advice. They gave us options on what they would do to repair the damage and what we elected to do ourselves. The work was finally completed in a very workman like. Quality was good. Our only hold back on 5 star rating was that there were noticeable delays from one step to the next getting the job complete. I would definitely use them again.
My house flooded and they did an excellent job helping me out
