I found the staff extremely helpful and knowledgeable in a time of considerable stress. They were open on a weekend at a time when nobody else was in the northeast kingdom and they were very, very kind and thoughtful in the care that they provided. Im very grateful and I would highly recommend this organization.
Our 14 yo dog had a health emergency in the middle of the night that we knew would be end of life. We had not used SAVES previously but, under the most stressful circumstances, they were incredible. As soon as we arrived our dog was taken in and until the moment we had to say goodbye, the team was kind, empathetic and professional. Wish we didnt have to send our girl over the rainbow bridge but are so happy that her final moments were in the kind hands of an amazing team. Thank you!
Yesterday our cat Amigo was treated at your office and we ultimately made the decision to euthanize him. It was clear how stretched you are on staffing, and for that reason we’re doubly appreciative of the time Dr. Partridge took to explain to us what was going on and to help us say goodbye to Amigo. She was very kind and we never felt rushed. Please forward our thanks to Dr. Partridge and the rest of the staff our thanks for the kindness and care.
I honestly don’t understand how anyone could give SAVES anything but five stars. We had an emergency on a Saturday and were recommended by our usual vet to try SAVES. The wait wasn’t too long but it is NOT first come first serve. Instead - like a human hospital - they triage everyone that arrives. YAY. The car was thorough and compassionate. They called to follow up and check on our kitten two days later as well and when I had questions the doctor called to follow up again. Truly recommend.
I have several small dogs and there are times when an ER occurs. The staff is excellent besides friendly. Their knowledge base is very good because typically you go their for an ER visit.
Saved my Bernese Mountain Dog’s life when he had gastric torsion and bloat at 2am one night. Excellent surgery, and he’s been healthy ever since. I found the doctors to be communicative and kind.
I recently had to bring my 1 1/2 year old cat Moonlight to SAVES because I noticed he was sick. Saves gladly answered all my questions and quickly got me a diagnosis for Moonlight. I then had a very difficult time finding a way to pay for Moonlights surgery and it was looking like I was gonna have to put him down which I really didnt want to do because he was so young and barely lived, one of the vets saw Moonlight and like myself did not wanna see him be put down so she offered to pay for moonlights surgery if I released ownership of him and gave him to her, I of course agreed and did some paperwork and asked if I could get an update to see if he pulled threw. I got a call the next morning and was told that Moonlight didnt make it and the kind vet gave me the option to take his body home if I wanted even though he technically wasnt my cat anymore bc I released ownership. Long story short the staff at SAVES are very kind and truly do love animals. Thank you for making sure my baby wasnt in pain anymore.
Care was great for or cat Bernard who was diagnosed with LUTD. Efficient despite 5 cards ahead of us (they triage based on severity so you can expect a wait if you have low acuity pet issue), answered all my questions, kind as well.
I took my dog here cause she didnt feel well . The person told me that they would take x-rays and some blood . It was going g to cost 800 00 and be a hour with results. One hour turned to be four. So I dont have money . But she is our baby so I said ok. I sat in parking lot for 4 hours with my grandkids. This was hard on them What really makes me upset is them saying a hour and me having to call and say hey I want my dog because from 5 pm to after 8pm I kept getting told hold on. Then when they finally told me just before releasing her they didnt find anything blocking her passages but wanted to keep her for fluids for 2000 dollars more . I said no. They asked my daughter on phone this knowing im Sitting in the parking lot waiting. Then one last thing does it matter who owns dog me or my daughter. Im The one that brought her . It was the money they were worried about who was paying . The next time I will wait for my own vet. I would t have taken her there if my vet wouldnt have said take her here . I had a gut feeling . I had bad experience here before but I gave them the benefit without a doubt and now my second bad experience. I Understand that they are a emergency hospital and they have other patients but dont tell someone an hour and be almost 4 hours .
A big thank you to Saves for helping us when our big guy ingested rat poison. Super professional and kind.
I brought my small pug mix here because she suffered a bite wound on her eye. It was so bad that they removed her eye that night. My experience was totally impersonal due to unnecessary Covid restrictions (all were lifted in NH weeks before). I never met the vet face to face and I can only imagine my dog’s stress when I wasn’t with her. The vet was upbeat and friendly... but again, I never saw her face. Her care and surgery there seemed adequate and she seems to be healing well. However, what a rip off! $2800 for a one hour surgery to remove her eye and an overnight stay. They told me that I had to give them a deposit right then and when I went to give them the deposit ...they told me that I had to pay the full amount upfront!!! I told them that $2800 was too expensive and they came back with $2500. I felt really taken advantage of! Like what do you do in that situation... it’s not like you can really argue or bring your dog somewhere else at 9o’clock at night. I think these sort of places need to be regulated because they can get away charging whatever they want. I fully understood that it was going to cost money but I figured there’s no way it was going to cost over $1000-1500. Then to add insult to injury.... they called me at 6:30 AM in to update me on how she was doing (which I appreciated). However, they told me that I needed to get down there by 8 o’clock AM or I would be charged more! I let them know that I wouldn’t be there until 9 o’clock as that is what the vet told me the night before. I just felt like they made money the main focus rather than her care or my feelings.I noted that the company response to my complaint below about the OUTRAGEOUS FEES was completely ignored. In addition I went to SAVED again today to pick up a liquid form of one of the medications that they gave me. I asked for liquids the night of the surgery but they said they didn’t think it came in liquid form. I then found out that they wanted to charge me $150 after I drove all the way down there to pick it up The next day after I called and they said they did have it. They also would not send a prescription to another ver closer to home for obvious reasons so they could charge me themselves the $150. Why would they give a tiny dog a huge pill that clearly would not be easy to get down her throat in the condition she’s in. The extremely rude receptionist hung up on me when I complained about price.
Had to make the decision to put my daughters kitten down. The friendly, kind, compassionate and caring staff put me at ease knowing that it was the best decision for Panda. Everyone of the staff members were excellent and showed Panda and myself through that hard decision. I thank everyone of the staff that was present on Friday. I dont know what we would have done if you guys werent around. THANK YOU ALL AGAIN!!
Our dog needed immediate attention for a deep cut on her leg and no local vets could see her, even with her emergency status. I called saves on a whim and they were pleasant, concerned and very transparent during my initial contact. We discussed the injury, initial visit cost and possible wait times, as well as their covid protocols. I arrived about an hour later and was checked in within 5 minutes. When the vet tech came out (curbside service) and brought my pup in she was so friendly and very gentle while she assessed my dogs leg. she let me know that I would receive a call from the dr. With a game plan. The dr. Called within 20 minutes and went over all the options, including costs for each, and was so patient while she answered all my questions. We decided on a course of action and were headed home within the next half an hour! My dog came out wagging her tail which tells me they were great inside, and the prescription process and payment went smoothly, it cost significantly less than I anticipated! Everyone was great, the customer service was too-notch, and the care given seemed like they’ve been seeing my dog her entire life! I would 100% recommend SAVES to anyone in need of urgent care for their pet!
Samantha took very good care of our kitty and was so kind. The drop off process works well and the staff is great!
We were sent here from our vets office to further treat and care for our dog. She is in their care at this point for an expected 24 to 48 hours. So far we have been treated with professionalism and courtesy. We look forward to the outcome of the treatment and will update on the final experience once done.
My dog got quilled with over 150 quills in her face, mouth and throat. We called saves and they said there was little to no wait time and that she would be considered a top priority because of the severity of her condition. We drove the 30 mins to the vet and when we got there they said there was one other dog ahead of her. So we waited, I called multiple times to try and find out how long we would be waiting for but they kept either not calling me back or giving me inaccurate times. So I waited in the car with my dog scratching and breaking the quills into her face and mouth for over 3 hours....on an 85° sunny day. Also, it costs a minimum of $400 to get quills out so I highly recommend doing it at home unless you totally can’t.
Our 4yr lab ungloved his right rear foot on sat afternoon, being from northern vt there is nothing open, thank you so much to saves for there compassion and professionalism in dealing with our tragedy could say enough thank you p.s hes doing excellent
We had a really great experience here. Our new puppy was stung in the face many times by a swarm of bees, and we brought him in in a panic. The staff was calm, professional and reassuring. They took time to answer all our questions and took great care of our dog. We were out within an hour and the process was very easy. So great to know they are nearby!
I had to bring my dog to SAVES due to consistent vomiting and even at a late hour the staff were prompt and professional as well as taking the time to calm my nerves. My dog is doing much better now Im happy to say.
My cat got neutered a couple days ago and he seemed off and had other things going on. I called SAVES to see what I should do and they suggested bringing him in. I brought him in and with COVID rules and regulations they had me text them when I got into the parking lot. It worked out better that way since my cat broke out of the carrier and was walking around my car ! They were so great and brought a cage out for me. The tech that brought him in was so gentle and you could tell that this is the right job for her! The emergency vet doctor was very pleasant. Gave me all the information I needed and I know that I can call and ask questions any time. Thank you all for your help
I had a very bad experience with this vet. They appear very professional, but they were wrong about my cats diagnosis (they had all sorts of ideas), and they were very expensive. There is not a lot of expertise going on with this place. They remind me of a fortune teller at the carnival- just put another grand on the credit card and well reveal what really going on with your pet. I wish I tried another place, even if it meant driving a little further
Our golden Enola was so sick for days and very sick when we brought her to SAVES in Lebanon. By dinner time she was bounceing back so fast. Thanks for being there on Easter Sunday and taking us right in.
Prompt service and always able to handle my over reactions
My regular vet was unable to see my little girl for another 6 days. I called saves and had an appointment within the hour! They were very friendly and knowledgeable, explained everything to me and put my mind at ease. Im very grateful for the care my dog received. Thank You!
We have had the very unfortunate luck of having to use SAVES because two of our dogs got sick and injured on a Saturday when our normal vet was closed.I called the vet before leaving our house today to get an idea of how long the wait would be and was told there was no wait. When we arrived just 15 minutes later, we were then told it would be a two-hour wait. Crazy. That two-hour wait turned into another hour, then another hour after that. We left without even seeing the vet after five hours; we were that frustrated.I can’t even attribute this to a one-time occurrence because we went through the exact thing with our other dog about a month earlier. I understand that things happen, but it is completely unreasonable to be told when I called that there was no wait and then have to wait in the parking lot for five hours! It is also unprofessional for the people answering the phone to have no idea how long you’ve been waiting and when you’ll get in. Each time I called from the parking lot, no one could give me an answer. The only reason this place is in business is because it is open 24 hours and on the weekends. It would NEVER manage to keep clients if it weren’t for that. Go elsewhere if you can.
Took my dog here for an emergency visit 12/26. They were amazing and friendly. My dog is home and doing great thanks to saves.
All this place cares about is the money. The first thing that they addressed was the bill, and everything was over priced anyways. They wouldn’t even start to worry about the animal until they knew that they were going to get paid. In such a time of strong emotion and quick decisions, I felt like we were totally and completely taken advantage of. I will never bring another animal any where near this place, and I suggest that you don’t either.
If I could give them 0 stars I would. Horrible service, they try to add things on that are completely unnecessary. Extremely overpriced. I will never go back.
My second late night visit to SAVES (with a dog who had gotten a puncture wound tangling with a skunk) was just as positive as my first visit. Very compassionate and skilled care. I feel so fortunate that we have SAVES for those times when our regular vets arent available. A huge thank you to you all.
My friend was just dealing with them here and they were no help at ALL. They kept her on hold for 30 mins and then they refused to answer her simple question! They told her to call poison control for $75 just to ASK a QUESTION!!!!
The staff my dog and I had were absolutely incredible. They were thorough in their work to ensure the best possible care for my dog, they acted quickly but took time to involve and educate me along the way. Highly recommended from my family!
Brought in my pet who was rapidly deteriorating due to a previously-unknown condition. The vet and vet techs turned her around and stabilized her, and while my pet had to be put to rest a few days after, I am very thankful for those days and for the staff who made them possible.
They were wonderful. I was dog sitting when the golden retriever managed to break into a container of raisins in the middle of the night. They were so helpful, kind and calm while I was probably freaking out. Dr. Lesser and the other veterinarians on staff gave me treatment options and made it very clear what was absolutely critical, what was not, and what actions could be taken from a precautionary standpoint. I feel good knowing they are here in the upper valley with us.
We brought a cat here . First time using this facility. After we filled out paperwork (they took our cat when we arrived) we sat for 2 hours with no idea of what was expected of us. Our cat was staying overnight for observation. I would ask the vet techs questions like are we supposed to talk to a vet? Do we just leave and come back in the morning? What is the process here. The usual answer... I’ll see if I can get you an answer. Finally we were asked did you sign an estimate? Why didn’t someone tell us this when we checked in! We saw a vet for less than 5 minutes.
I have never been so FURIOUS at a veterinarian office. I found a very wounded kitty in the road I almost hit him and others also, so I stopped and helped him out of the road and seen he needed some desperate care. The wonderful couple that helped me with something to wrap him in and let me know where you were located. So I brought him here and they REFUSED this cat. I was so FURIOUS that an emergency office turned this baby down.... So I used my husbands soft coat in one of my grocery bags and put him in there he collapsed in the bag. We went to Wal-Mart and I seen they had a dunkin donut so I asked for a little cup and I grab a can of cat food and gave the baby some and off we went. Home to Vermont and I called our veterinarian and they had an opening and it was the saddest moment for me. I had a feeling he was in really bad shape but it still hit hard. We did have him euthanized and is resting in peace. You should be ashamed of yourself and your company..
Called because my cat was having a medical issue, i live close to an hour away and the emergency was around 9pm at night. not a severe enough emergency to rush him that late to a vet and risk my own safety but the employee just kept repeating the same thing to me that to even give me any advice for signs of worsening symptoms, they wanted me to bring him in even though i stated it wasnt severe enough to rush him in currently. Ive been to and spoken to much better emergency vets elsewhere this was honestly one of the worst interactions Ive had - Ive never had employees not even attempt to help over the phone.
Had a puppy in critical condition, came to SAVES to try and get her some help. When we asked the staff about alternative treatments beside euthanasia the staff was very unhelpful. Not offering any alternatives but also not being helpful and almost a little judgmental at our decision to put the dog down. Little to no empathy from the staff and an almost rude treatment after we had put our dog down.
Every time Ive been there the staff is great. They are friendly and helpful. Our last visit was a true emergency and we ended up having to put our female girl to sleep. They rushed her right in. The staff gave us all the time we needed to decide what to do. The doctor was honest about survival rates and was supportive and sympathetic with our decision. There was no rushing by them afterwards, we stayed with our departed girl for quite awhile. They understood the emotions involved and rather than making us pay a bill before or after, they simply offered their condolences and gave me an invoice letting me know that we could just exit. They held onto our girls leash, we forgot it during everything. Even picking up her cremains, I was met with sympathy and condolences. I would recommend SAVES to everyone. My wife and I would like to thank the entire staff for everything. To add onto the above. They did a clay paw print for us and told us that the cremation place likes to do that as an add on and we could decline that. Its been a little over a week since we put our girl to sleep and I came home yesterday to find a hand signed card from the staff at SAVES offering their condolences. Again, I want to thank everyone there, you guys are the best!!
On New Year’s Eve this year we rushed our sweet dog to SAVES to find out he needed emergency surgery for GDV. The vet was kind and compassionate as we deliberated surgery and completely upfront and transparent about survival rates. Long story short, our guy made a full recovery and we could not have been more impressed with the level of care he received and how we were treated throughout the entire experience. Although we hope we never have to return, we’d highly recommend this place!
Everyone was wonderful, from Brandy answering the phone and greeting us at the door, to Lindsay helping Boots immediately and helping us to make a difficult decision, to Dr Horowitzs great care and compassion with both Boots and us. We absolutely love our own vets, but couldnt have asked for better care in an emergency.
We took our dog to SAVES after she was attacked by another dog. We called ahead, and made it within an hour. They saw Her right away, and had her stitched up and on our way within the hour. SAVES cost is relative to any other emergency vet - maybe even cheaper than any of the ones weve been to in Massachusetts. The staff is so nice and attentive. I knew our baby was in the right hands
Ive had to bring a few of my animals to S.A.V.E.S for emergency each time the staff has been amazing. This last time i was away and had to have a friend bring my dog in who sadly didnt make it during this extremely difficult and heart breaking time the staff called to check on us and allowed me to make a partial payment and come pay the rest when i came back to town. They also worked with my vet to help get my dog cremated so we could bring her home. S.A.V.E has always worked with us when we were short on money helping us set up payment plans. We are so lucky to have this establishment in the upper valley
SAVES us an amazing ER practice. I brought my female Golden Retriever, Ember, in who was having difficulty whelping her litter and had a stuck puppy. The staff was sympathetic, kind, and kept me informed every step of the way on what was happening ..long story short, 6 females and 5 males, Mom and puppies areally all doing fine, happy and healthy. Every minute of my experience was an awesome one, from the time I stepped out in the door, until I checked out..I HIGHLY recommend this facility.
We live in the Boston area, and travel to Vermont often. We had emergency with our pup today and Saves blew us away with all aspects of their services provided. Staff is awesome, facility is top of the line and location is convenient.
We have had 3 visits - porcupine quills, corn cob ingestion, and most recently major surgery to remove a Darn Tough sock. The first two visits were not any more expensive than taking him to the regular vet. But since one was a holiday and other an evening, I had to take him to emergency. The major surgery was expensive, but it was not out of line. And the fact that they are there 24/7 and you dont have to transfer your pet to another facility, is very valuable. My dog was there two days, I was able to visit whenever I wanted and they would set me up in a room with a quilt for him. I stopped in twice after he returned home to check stitches and finally have them removed at no extra charge. Professional, clean, and delightful staff. Thank you for taking such good care of Bogey. By the way, I have an insurance policy with PetPlan, which I highly recommend. SAVES communicated with PetPlan and Ive already receive payment with no hassle. Thank you SAVES!
Bless this staff for being open on the 4th. So happy with our experience. Thanks for all you do!
The place is a dump and they should be shamed . This company doesnt even like cats. Its one of those places that think cats as lesser beings
Had to go here with a Great Dane as the regular vet had no appointment openings today. Agree with many of the other reviews. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and caring. Facility is spotless and comfortable.
The staff at S.A.V.E.S. were so very kind and compassionate when we had a middle-of-the-night emergency with one of our cats. Conveniently located a minute from exit 18, I 89 in NH. Highly recommend!
I was dog-sitting not too long ago and one of the dogs I was taking care got into it with a porcupine. Let me tell you, the porcupine always wins in that scenario. To make matters worse, it was 8pm on a Sunday evening so the Vet in the contacts the owners left me was closed. Needless to say I was a bit stressed out since one of the dogs I was in charge of had a face full of quills! I found this Vet online and gave them a call, and speaking with the staff instantly put me at ease.I took the poor pooch down there ASAP and was immediately taken care of. The staff was very professional and attentive and the Vet on duty was very nice and did a great job getting all the quills out.My experience was great, and this paid off because two days later one of the other dogs I was taking care of got into it with a porcupine, this time at 6:30am on a Tuesday morning! I took this dog back here and got the same great treatment again.Sure, maybe everyone has their go-to vet but when an emergency happens off hours I would highly recommend this place.
Incredibly compassionate and kind people. My elderly cat was near the end of his life and we were going to have him put down to end his suffering. He passed away in the car on the way there. The staff there was so supportive and respectful.
Terrible service. Our cat was in labor and had problems during the conception so we brought our cat there. While she was in pain the doctors told us that our cat needed a c-section and the surgery was gonna cost around $2800 which we did not have. When we asked the doctor what to do all they said was “I would of got the cat spayed” most unprofessional thing someone could say then gave us the choice to give up our cat or let her die. I wouldn’t recommend this vet to anyone!!! The literally gave us no choice but to give her up to one of the employees there who was gonna pay for it to keep her....and just so she could stay alive we had no choice
Excellent emergency vet care. The staff is kind, well trained and reasonable. They put on excellent splints!
I wish I could have used this facility, but they do not take small animals like rabbits. I had an emergency this morning, and it’s really unfortunate that I have to travel an hour to Concord with an already sick bunny...I wish we could have used that time to get her to a facility that is close to get her the help she needed. I hope SAVES can accommodate these small pets some day...
They charge lots more money than anyone else, there service was bad, and wen the surgery failed they charged to so it over again. So $4000 dollars down the drain, had to go to a different vet after to fix it and it was $750. I recommend stonecliff animal clinic. Dont go here!
Our new puppy had parvo and spent several days there and they kept me posted all the way. Every time I called they were never put out and gave me updates on his condition. I highly recommend them.
The vet did everything she could for my cat. I cannot thank them enough!!! I wish I could hug her!
S.A.V.E.S is a great place to help hurt animals, they helped me a lot with my pets. Im proud to say that one of my cats survived a car crash with their help.❤🐱
While out of the country my kids took my dog to this vet. Over $2000 later for a 16 hour visit my dog came home rehydrated and with one antibiotic. Way too expensive and we were charged for 36 hours care
Brought my dog that was hit buy a car and someelse called and said he waa their dog and they literally put my dog in their name without even contacting me in 2015. !!!!! Who does that ????
Very friendly staff super helpful and welcoming
Great service for my pets and for me!
Evening classes are great.
Professional, through, caring and compassionate.
