The Air went out in my grandmothers(90 years old) car. I took it to Firestone in Smyrna(convenience) and they told me she needed a new a new compressor and quoted me over $1300. I then took it closer to my home to James auto care just to find out it was a switch $130. I highly recommend this company. This is twice I have taken a vehicle to them and they done more then a excellent job. Staff is super friendly and easy to talk to. Thank you guys very much for treating me right. As a woman I am always worried about getting ripped off when it come to car maintenance.

I live in Cookeville and commute to Lebanon M-F for work. On my way to work this morning, my battery light came on in my car which turned out to be my alternator. I was referred to James’ Auto Care by a coworker who frequently uses this business. They were excellent! They got me right in, were very honest and helpful, and kept me updated the entire time. I would highly recommend!

I visited James Auto Care today to take care of a flat tire. I took it to Firestone and they said theyd replace it. At James Auto Care they actually took the time to take the tire off and look at it and said theyd repair it since it was in the middle⅔ of the tire. They fixed the flat after removing the screw and sent me on my way for a very, very, reasonable price in under ten minutes. I would highly recommend James Auto Care they were professional, fast, and affordable.

The people of Jame’s auto care are simply amazing! On our way through from Texas to Virginia, having a problem on the truck, we stopped in and we’re so sweet! Treated us like family. Let us bring our dog and cat in the office while we waited, tried giving us directions to food places if we haven’t eaten or a dog park for our dog if he hadn’t been able to run in a while. They are amazing and did great work on the truck 10 out of 10 would recommend for the locals or any one driving through and needing stuff worked on in your truck they are the ones to go through!!!

James Auto Repair is honest and always do a great job on our vehicles. I know when I take my cars there he will be fair. He took my daughters car in when it was overheating and had it fixed and back on the road the next day.

I have been miserable driving around with no AC. Called a few places and they wouldnt be able to check my car for over a week. We called James and they said if we could bring it with in a couple of hours they could check it. We get there and James was very nice, knowledgeable, and honest. We were told POSSIBLE high and low end costs. We get a call a couple of hours later (they were busy so I am impressed by their speed) and my bill was lower than the possible low end cost, and my AC is blowing gloriously cold air. That right there is an HONEST man! Thank you guys and gal for being so awesome! I really appreciate it!

Ive been here a couple of times. For a tire rotation, alternator, and for a check engine light. They have been very professional each time and explained what was wrong/how to fix it best they could so I could clearly understand. Theyve been so nice each time as well. Hopefully nothing else goes wrong but if it does I have a place I trust to go.

Mt. James was fantastic. He was willing to go above and beyond to get me in my car quickly. Ive used him a couple of times now and will not go anywhere else. There was an issue with an employee, and he resolved the issue and made things right. He is a good southern man that will do right by his customers. 10/10 recommend him!

I bought my new tire from Discount Tires. So I asked for alignment too he give me this guys business card. It shows only for $58 dollars only for alignment. when I take my car to them he charge me $138 dollars !!! knowing that he dont changed nothing only for less than 30 minutes Labor. I am never step this shop again.

They do great work. My truck had a starter issue and they found it was bad. Had it changed and I was back on the road in just a couple of hrs.

Had a ECU/PCM go out asked the shop to diagnose the issue, was quoted 72.00$ ended up being charged just under 95.00$. The they tell me the part is 495$ and that an hour of labor would be 300$ for a total of 795$. I ordered my own part already programed for almost 150.00$ less and it took me less than 15 minutes to install the part.As having owned a business I understand adding around 20-30% to turn a profit at a fair price, however I felt this shop was way overcharging for the labor.I would recommend looking else where if you are not able to work on your own vechile or do not have the the time.

Went in with noise out of my front end . Was told it was my driverside axle. Told them to replace axle. They didnt call so I called over two hours later was told it was my transmission, I said so didnt need the axle oh yea but your transmissions bad too we can fix it for 2100.00 .I went and got my car the axle they said was 190.00 plus 107.00 labor . Took it to Tiger Transmission they drove it, said transmission was fine that they changed the wrong axle they changed the passenger side axle cars great axle was 75.00 labor was 75.00 . James Garage is a big RIP off never again !! When I went to pick my car up after they got me for the axle they wouldnt even look me in the eye !! Just put a star so it would post

Very unprofessional. Replaced a sensor on my car and it broke down at an intersection shortly thereafter. I called and was told I could get the problem diagnosed for free and then when I brought it back they ignored me when I went in, were very rude and tried to charge me for a diagnosis. If they don’t diagnose it, they don’t warranty their work! Beware!

Awesome place. I’m a mechanic and needed a alignment done so I took it here. While in the waiting room I overheard the counter man share advise and give very honest customer service. He was even taking time to educate people with no mechanical ability how to take care of there car with general maintenance. I had an unexpected issue with my Jeep that had been overlooked by another company in Lebanon. James auto gave me a complete list of what needed to be done and when asked, they were very willing to prioritize work so that i could manage it within my budget at this time. Ny husband and I recommended this place to my father. He took our advice and took his Cadillac there to have a new engine put in. Since this process began it’s been nothing but issues. The engine was put in and of course his old one taken out. But there remains to be problems to this day with the engine they installed, so much so that they actually gave up trying to fix it and sent it to another repair shop to see if they could. Mind you they have been paid For the installation of a “working” engine. My dad picked up the vehicle once they said it was fixed took it home and clearly it was still not fixed so he returned it because there is a warranty when you buy a new engine. At this point the car has been down there for months and it’s still not fixed and now they are trying to refuse to fix it at all with no refund. All that we want is a working CORRECTLY ENGINE, which is what was paid for. what good is a warranty if they will not honor it....? They constantly tell you that they will find out what is going on and call you back yet a call is never received back. When the money is paid and you are guaranteed a product that works that is what you should receive. Unless this company decides to honor their warranty or refund the money for the job they didn’t do I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone else I am embarrassed that I recommended them the first time.

It is really hard to find a good repair shop that does excellent work at a fair price that you can trust. In Lebanon, James Auto Care is that place. These guys are awesome. Small locally owned shop that is really not trying to take advantage of people. The whole crew is great. They take the time to answer your questions and explain to whatever degree you want. I found my garage. No reason to go anywhere else.

I brought my car in to get the A/C fixed.They diagnosed it i paid for that then had to come back for them to fix what they said was wrong with it. I literally paid over $300 and my air still doesnt work. Its the exact same as it was. I dont understand how they can tell me thats the problem, but then I pay for it and its still not fixed. Now there saying its something else and that would be another almost $600 more. I feel like I got ripped off. I wasted my time and over $300 and got nothing to show for it. I wouldnt recommend anyone use them! I went off them having 150+ ratings with the majority being good,but I was way wrong. Ill never go back to them again!

I needed to get my ball joints fixed on my 1998 Silverado truck and I got all of the parts close by at a decent spot where I can have it done and it was affordable and easy to have taken care of going through that time that was happening and thank you so much and I dont care for providing the service for my truck and doing the work that need to be done

They did brake service and fixed the air conditioning in my car and its running excellent. Also very honest about what you need to repair and not trying to upsell unnecessary repairs

They got me in and out in about 40 minutes, showed me how bad my alignment was off, explained how they fixed it and gave me a fair price!! Came to them with a rough idle a few months ago. All they did was look at the engine bay for an hour and told me that it’s because of a bad engine mount. I told them that I worked on it previously and explained that it might be low compression in one of the cylinders. Still didn’t do anything. I had to come back and convince them to do a compression test on the cylinder that I thought was the problem. They do the test. Low compression. A few days later I do the test myself to compare the cylinders. All within normal range. Just today I figured that I had a faulty coolant temp. sensor and replaced it (faulty voltage display). They’ve done piss-poor job for a simple diagnostic job, so be careful when you trust them with any diagnostic/repair job. Maybe an oil/tire change they could do right. Maybe.

This place will try and take advantage of you. Overpricing and offering parts you dont need replaced.

I highly recommend this really friendly business. We’re from out of town and chose this repair shop because it was open on Saturday morning. Ryan was able to slot in at the last minute a change of headlamp light globes. Although it took a while to look at the truck and quote the job, they were able to complete it much faster than the time suggested by the manual. The mechanic Jack even drove us to the diner down the street so we could have breakfast while waiting.

First Presbyterian Church of Lebanon recommended James Auto Care. Ryan was extremely helpful: found parts, provided pricing, confirmed technician availability within 10-15 minutes. Within 45 minutes, technician determined only front pads needed to be replaced saving me almost 50% of the estimate.

Too high for my blood... I had to pay 89 dollars to look at one of my car and it was just spark plugs and coil things ( which i could do for free but he wanted 289 plus tax... Then my wifes car they charged 120 bucks to look at it n they were supposed to let me know what was wrong with it before they did the freon. I would not go back.

I think I found my new mechanic. The front end alignment technician did a fantastic job on my vintage 1968 Mustang. It now drives true and straight. Excellent service and very pleasant- Car Battery was dead and not sure if I needed a new one- They were more than helpful- I did need a new one and was a very quick replacement and fair price- On top of that I had my 12 year old grandson with me(who had helped jump the car). They took him outside while they looked at the problem and talked to him and taught him a few things- He was thrilled!

I was on my way back home with my family when my husband had a gut feeling something was wrong. Come to find out our wheel bearing on the right side was shredded!
