Riding mower needed a new blade cable and a throttle spring replaced. They told me it was a two week turnaround. Seven weeks later they had replaced the gas tank that one of them told me had spider cracks in it and someone else went one step further and said it had a thumb size hole in the side (funny,. since I had driven it the prior week and it wasnt damaged.) They replaced the spring which apparently ruined the carburetor so they put on a new one and yes, they did replace the cable. After complaining about the 50 charge for a gas tank, they deducted it from the bill. When I started the mower it barely idled. How the tech missed this while driving from the garage to the storage area is a mystery. It took another week to find a second carburetor that allowed the mower to run however when I got it home and engaged the blades the mower hardly stayed running. Ill be taking it elsewhere to be handled. They also have a cool sign on the counter that says they will notify you if your bill will exceed 300 dollars. Thinking a cable and a spring wouldnt come near that amount I didnt question the sign. They never contacted me to tell me they were replacing the carburetor or the gas tank, both of which were not broken when I brought the mower to them. My son-in-law recommended them as he has taken his companies equipment there in the past. Needless to say neither of us will ever return.

Really frustrating experience with this business. I dropped my mower off to get worked on and was told it would be a 2 week turnaround time. The next morning I called in and told them I would rather purchase a new mower instead of investing more repairs into the old one. I was told that would be fine as they hadnt had a chance to look at my mower yet. I arrived at the shop less than an hour later and they had gone ahead and repaired my old mower. There was no paperwork so no one could tell me what work had been done or what was wrong with it. I had already purchased the new mower over the phone with them so I asked them to reimburse the charge. I was assured it would be taken care of immediately. A week later my credit card had only been refunded for less than half of the purchase price of the new mower. After an hour and a half on the phone with them, they refused to reimburse the total cost of the new mower and still could not give me an answer as to what happened with my old mower. They have no idea what the issues were, and no idea how much time was spent on it. So instead of reimbursing me for the new mower and sending me an invoice for the cost of the repairs, they just withheld over half of the cost of the new mower as payment. Extremely disappointed in the service and will never recommend to anyone in the community. They made mistakes and miscommunicated terribly, and I ended up being the responsible party. Buyer beware!

Deceitful or incompetent. Not sure which one. Took a JD Zero Turn in because it would not run properly. Aplus stated they ran a compression test which showed only 60 PSI, the rings are shot, but they would be willing to sell me a new mower and give me a good deal. Collected my mower, ran my own compression test which showed +90 PSI in both cylinders. DO NOT TRUST THIS SHOP. Sure, buy something new from them, but DO NOT try to get anything serviced unless you want to get lied to. When I called to speak with a manager he told me it could have been a bad tool...then he said that all of the mechanics are new....but kept pushing it was a bad tool. Is he telling the truth...I will NEVER go back to find out. But dont worry, he is going to check the compression tool and his mechanic. Good luck. Lost customer for life.

Took my mower here to be repaired. They fixed it but it only worked one time. I took it back in and asked them to call me before any repairs were done (I had the first time too but wanted to make doubly sure it was in their computer.) I called after about a month or so of it being there with no call and they said it was done. They had replaced a part on it without calling me first and now wanted me to pay the crazy expensive bill even though I told them to call me first. It was cheaper for me to buy a new mower and leave them the repaired one to sell to settle their bill, that how insane their pricing is. Also, they said it was due to bad gas in the lines but when I told them it was brand new gas from the gas station the owner went on a rant about the government.

A Plus owner Mike Smith, Service Manager Dennis, and Crystal, Office Manager, were all very helpful with my Cub Cadet riding mower repair. They picked up the mower the day after my call, diagnosed the problem, and called me with the good news that it was a safety switch. So they added a cleaning and blade sharpening at no extra charge since issue was so quick to resolve. It was ready for return delivery and delivery was included in the $75 pickup charge. They are under new management with new staff. Very pleased with their excellent and friendly customer service!

Took my weed eater in for repair in October 2017 and was told it would be 2 weeks to have it fixed and someone would call me before a repair was made, I called several times to check on the progress and each time was told they couldnt find it and someone would call me and discuss any issues with it when they could find it and notes for it. I finally went in today August 29, 2018 to talk to someone in person, after about 15 minutes they brought out my weed eater completely torn apart without a spark plug or any of the hardware to put it back together. The manager said he thinks they said something about it not being worth repairing (which should have been my decision) and that they went through a period of bad management and that he had to take back over. I asked for the hardware to put it back together and he said he couldnt find it that if I needed it to call back up there and they would try to find it (I thought when I asked if they had it was me asking for it) and that I hadnt paid anything so we were good. Rather than getting into it with the manager I decided to just leave. I am truly disappointed in customer service I received from what I assume is still a family owned and operated business and will share my experience with others.

The people who worked there were as nice as can be. That is the bright side!I had them do a tune up on a Honda lawn mower that was hard to start and ran very rough. I got it back and it did start a little easier at first. I noticed right away that it still ran rough, with the engine failing to hold a steady RPM. After mowing for a little bit, I noticed that every time I hit a bump or turned the mower, there is vibration. I turned the mower on its side and found that the blade was incorrectly installed, so it had about an inch of play at the end of the blade. This vibration actually took a metal piece out of the underdeck. I fixed it myself. Well, it had been about a month since I got my mower back and it fails to start at all.I also took in a McClain edger. Every time I checked on it, they told me they ordered the wrong part, or they were waiting on something. It took them two months months to finally fix my edger. The edger was old, so they had to rig a new throttle cable that needed to be replaced. I understand they they struggled to find the right part, so they had to make due with what they could get. But, but why did it take two months. These guys are 0 for 2 as far as I am concerned.

I took my old Echo CS3450 chain saw to this shop for repair when it wouldnt start. Common problem, can be caused by old fuel, especially with ethanol. They charged $130 to install a standard tune-up kit ($21 retail) and clean out the fuel system. When I used it, it died and refused to start after it was hot. Took it back, they insisted it was bad fuel and charged me another $35 to clean it out again. Same result, even with new $7/qt fuel, saw wouldnt idle right or start. I gave up and took it to someone else who determined that the carburetor needed to be rebuilt, and the internal fuel screens were plugged, causing flooding. The A+ repair job was incompetent, and they did not listen to me when I told them that it was NOT the fuel. Stay away.

When I call with any questions or concerns with anything they are always friendly and answer my propane questions. Its great to have a propane company that cares. The delivery driver doesnt bother us when he comes to fill the tank he puts gas in the tank and leaves a printed receipt that has the gallons and the price on it as well under the lid of my tank. I brought it back and they told me rechecks get priority. After 3 weeks I got it back. They had put a new carberator and charged me 50 in labor. I got it back home and it would not power up to full power. I called them and asked if they test out the things they work on...they lied and said they did because obvuously they did not test mine. He said to bring it back...I told him I lived 30 miles Way and was getting tired of bringing it back for them to recheck it. I said I wanted the mechanic to look at it as soon as I get there. The ma manager said if a mechanic was available they would. I bring it back and he adjusted the governor and it ran correctly. I should have demanded my money for the original labor to be refunded since the labor was no good but I just wanted to be finished with this place. I will never go back

Over the winter I had failed to drain the gasoline from my 5-year old mower, so in the spring, it ran rough. I took it in to A-Plus for a tuneup. They had it for over a month, and when I got it home, it ran better, but not great and not nearly as well as it had the previous summer. It was also hard to start (it wouldnt start without squiting starting fluid into the carburetor). My son-in-law discovered that the primer pump was no longer functional, so I ordered a replacement online. When my son-in-law replaced the primer pump he told me, whoever last worked on this mower installed the primer bulb backwards. Thats why it didnt work. Now it starts wihtout having to use starting fluid, but one would expect that a 5-year old mower which had been recently worked on by someone who knew what he was doing would run like new. I think the offending assumption here is that the guy who worked on it knew what he was doing. He obviously did not.

Probably just was a bad day. I would send the review aiming at this location as a stihl dealer. I went to purchase a carb, and using the serial number for the machine i purchased a carb. I bought the carb and took it home. I tried to put it on and it was completely wrong. I had tp drive all the way back over there, and the fellow helping me swore thats the carb that goes to the unit. The problem is the Stihl partsmart system gives all parts available to the model, and does not seperate parts based on serial number. So having a serial number does nothing to narrow down parts, so if the model has different versions of a carb, you have to know exactly which one you need. The problem, I guess, is I should have been more vigilant or the salesman should have also known to look at the carb

In my opinion, not the same quality service as with the previous owners. Poor communication and process about needed repairs or possible problems with equipment. My equipment was diagnosed with an internal problem and parts were ordered without my consent. Later other fuel problems were determined to be a problem. This is all on a machine that has less than 30 hrs on it. No consultation about what was the best option. Extremely slow and continually missed promised completions dates. After two months the equipment is still not ready...I have used this group for over a decade prior to new ownership. I will not use them again.

I have used A Plus Outdoor Power many times over the years. It sometimes took a long time to get things repaired, but they are local and I like keeping my business local. This spring I took in a riding lawnmower that I bought from Home Depot. It died the first time I tried to use it - and A Plus was one of the shops listed for doing its warranty work. After months of having no mower, and not getting answers from A Plus - I finally found out that they it had been repaired for over a month, and they were only waiting for the warranty approval. The repair was only for $50, so I paid the $50 with the agreement that they would credit me $50 when the warranty cleared. My new mower had been sitting outside their shop in the rain for 3 months. I had paid $300 getting my lawn mowed while it was in the shop, and I cant say I was happy with the way it looked.Lee went to load my mower onto my truck (which I did not ask for, or even want). He had it in high gear, with the mower deck all the way down. He tried to ride it up onto my 4x4 pickup - but at the top he flipped it over backwards. My new riding lawnmower which hadnt mowed my yard once, was now not only rusty - but it looked as though it had been thrown off the back of a truck and landed upside down - basically because it had.I helped Lee up, and we rolled it back onto its wheels. Lee told me he would make it right. We made a list of the parts that were obviously damaged, and he said he would call it in, order me new parts, and install them for me. The mower started up, and other than looking terrible - it seemed functional. Lee suggested I take it - and he would let me know when the parts were in.A month went by, and I hadnt heard anything. so I called to find out when I could expect the parts, and to let him know that the mower blades are not level, so it cuts unevenly. Lee claimed he had tried to call me - though I never had any record of it (he has my cell phone number). I asked how long it would be until the parts came in, and he admitted that he hadnt ordered them yet - but he would do it right now, and get back with me.Another month, several more phone calls, more excuses. A trip in to the store, no resolution.Lee is the owner. Unlike what the other reviwers have said, he is not honest or reliable. I took what was a new mower in to his shop, paid $50 for what should have been warranty work, and got back a rusted and smashed machine. Nothing about this experience has been wonderful, or even reasonable.

I find these other reviews highly suspicious. This company is a compete joke. We used their service to come fill our propane tank. Their prices were high, but we were in a little bit of a bind because it was winter and we were using this service for the first time in our home we had moved into a few months earlier. When they came out, my fiancé agreed to have them put us on their route in case we needed more propane in the future. They told us they usually only service homes on their route, but would come out initially because we were out. We thought we had found a good company. Skip forward two months. We just got an email from them with shoddy invoices stating they had been out a month ago and put in 150 gallons and are now needing to charge our credit card almost $400. AND that they had been out yesterday to fill another 150 gallons and are wanting to charge us again for another $400. When we agreed to be on their route we told them to alert us before adding any propane to our tank. They NEVER so much as knocked on the door, left a receipt or even emailed or called to let us know they were going add to the tank. We never agreed to a single drop to be added without our agreement prior. We certainly NEVER agreed for them to come to us randomly and tell us they sold us propane the month before without any invoice or receipt. They already charged my credit card for the fantom propane fill a month ago without my authorization. They tried to charge it again today, again without authorization. The kicker is, when they supposedly were at our house yesterday, my fiancé was there the entire day. They were NOT there when they said they were. What company charges credit cards randomly for services that were never agreed to? This smells more like fraud than propane! STAY AWAY!
