Im a photographer and when I discovered my Mac hard drive was failing I was freaking out because I had a ton of sessions and weddings to edit and couldnt be out of commission very long. Bill and Grant were fabulous! They were quick to respond, quick to get it taken care of and quick to get it back to me. They helped me navigate the situation, never tried to up-sell me on stuff I didnt need. They were honest about what I could do in the way of upgrades but that I didnt need to go that big. Its an old Mac but it will still be an amazing machine for years to come thanks to Tyrosys. Im a small business owner and I know the value of good service and they have it. You wont regret going to them!

Would not recommend for AppleCare repairs. Charges extra and wanted even more for “diagnostics”. Tried to bring them business instead of Apple Store or Depot repair because they’re local. Was pretty much told to take my business elsewhere because it wasn’t worth their time to fix it for Apple.

This was the best place I could have taken my MacBook after spilling water on it. The whole process of testing for water damage was done right in front of me. Bill was very informative about everything he was doing and his thought process on what parts were damaged and where the problems came from. He showed me all of the parts he was looking at and pointed out damaged spots he thought could cause problems. Instead of jumping to conclusions, he tried multiple things to make sure that all of the parts were still viable. I ended up not having to spend any extra money on replacement parts. And I have a feeling if I took my laptop anywhere else, I would have gone down the rabbit hole of replacing parts to locate the issue. He wasnt there to make the most money, but was there to help fix my problem.

It happens......laptop died after a long life. Tyrosys investigated on the spot and diagnosed in minutes. Unfortunately the repair wasnt worth it. Tryosys was open an honest about that; they didnt try to upsell or otherwise convince me of some services to grab a quick buck. Recommend that I buy new one from Costco and that they could pull the data directly off the old memory if i wanted for an up-to-the day backup restoration....which is what i did. All done the same day. Nice job Tyrosys. Hope i dont need service again for a long while, but if i do i know where to go!!

I found Tyrosys when I poured a cup of scalding coffee onto my keyboard and they were still in Georgetown. Ran over there immediately & handed it over. Glad they were so close. Happily followed them to their current location. Theyve handled both my MacBooks—diagnosing, cleaning, replacing batteries, coaching me on how to extend battery life (dont leave it plugged in all the time!). I couldnt be happier with and more grateful for their knowledge, skill, and patience.

I took in a MacBook Air that had been water damaged to the point that it would not start. I had previously visited both Apple and Best Buy to see whether there was any chance of recovering any of its data. Suffice it to say that the answers were not satisfactory in the least, nor was the condescending way they were delivered.I decided to try Tyrosys to see if they could help. They were able to remove the component holding the data, put it into a tool that I believe was their own design and copy the data to an external hard drive through one of their computers. As always it took a few hours to copy all of the data but all of that was done when they said it would be.And, almost as much to the point as the technical work, they were pleasant and friendly the entire time we were talking - not a common experience with the “Geniuses” and “Geeks” who seem to feel a need to talk down to their customers. That difference alone will bring me back to Tyrosys for Mac work.

My daughter has a 3 year old Mac book air and the screen went blank on her. Where she is living she took it to an authorized service provider, they did a diagnostic test and told her the mother board was dead and it would cost her over $400 to fix. Even Apple wanted over $400 just to send it in. Being an Apple user for many years I knew this couldn’t be right so I had her give me the machine and let me see what I could do. After all the tricks online didn’t work I decided to call around to authorized Service providers in my area. After talking to a few others I called Tyrosys and spoke to Bill. He we the first company that actually told me the truth over the phone. I took the laptop to him and told him what we have tried and he said if you try the tricks too many times the computer gets confused and won’t respond. He opened the back, did his thing and low and behold it fired right up. He did a diagnostic test, check the board and battery and they are All Good! I walked out with a working laptop and a very very happy daughter for under what I was expecting to pay. I highly recommend this company to fix your Apple Computer, they are extremely honest and vary fair with their pricing. He saved us!!

This was hands down the best experience Ive had getting any electronic of mine replaced. Grant immediately knew the issue and what was needed to fix it, I brought it in on a Thursday and had it back by Monday. He and his dad were so nice. Sometimes at electronic repair places, you get talked down to or ripped off but that was not at all the case at Tyrosys. They were very nice, informed me of what the problem with my computer was, told me what it needed and had it done in a few short days. Not only that but they also threw some extras into the repair that were not apart of my original complaint. If you are looking for a place to get any of your devices repaired, I cannot stress this enough, use Tyrosys. I will never be going anywhere else to get something repaired again.

They were very responsive and quick to get my laptop back to me. I called them on Thursday, they called me back within an hour or less. I took my laptop in Friday morning and had it back by Friday evening. Grant is SUPER knowledgeable about hardware and software and is Apple Certified. He explained everything and helped me make an informed decision about what would be best for me. After everything was complete, he showed me how to work the new software and the dos and donts. He was happy to answer all of my questions (and I had a-lot). Super friendly, super helpful, and super professional. This is definitely the place I will recommend to my friends and family.

We took my sons MacBook Air in for warranty repair in early August because his display was having problems. The Apple Store wasnt open at the time due to the pandemic. The gentleman there proceeded to tell us that the display problem was due to hyper-extending the display when opening the computer, thus breaking the display board. This sounded so incredible since my son has a protective case on it and doesnt roughly handle his computer. It made no sense and didnt seem like something Apple would tell us if we brought it in. This gentleman told us Apple wouldnt cover it under warranty and it would cost $699 to repair. We said no thanks and went on our way. Mind you, he never even opened up the laptop to look and see what was going on. When the Apple Store opened back up, we took it in and they repaired it happily under warranty - no charge. So glad I went with my gut when something didnt sound right.

Just received my MacBook Pro back from Tyrosys. A cracked screen—repaired, and back to me in two days. Impressive. This is the second time Ive taken my Macs into these guys. The first time was a replacement battery on my MacAir. Grant was the one who dealt with me both times. Knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. And much appreciated. I know they do a lot more than just repair Macs, but I for one will always bring my Apple issues to Tyrosys. Much as though I like the marketing behind the Geniuses at the Apple stores, Id rather go to the real thing!

I had a great experience with Tyrosys. I needed my keyboard replaced. Grant returned my call when I was looking to find someone to do the work. He did it in two days when the other places I called said ten days and five-to-seven days. The work was perfect. Grant was great to deal with. It was well worth the drive from south Austin.

Taking my computer to Tyrosys was hands down the BEST electronics repair experience I have ever had by a landslide (unfortunately I have had quite a few to compare). I had already taken my computer to two other places in my area (Killeen) who were unable to fix it. As a last resort, I called Apple and they advised I could mail it to them or see Tyrosys out in Leander. I called them and explained what the problem was and he let me know what was likely the problem and even estimated the cost to repair. It was clear from my first conversation with him that he was 1000% more knowledgeable with Apple computers than the two other places I had taken my computer. They were flexible with their appointment time which I appreciated so much because my husband and I work a lot of hours and it can be hard making the time to drive to Austin during the week for us. He opened up my computer when we got there and figured out the issue very quickly and throughly explained it to us so it was easy to understand. He called to provide updates along the way and even overnighted my computer back to me so I wouldnt have to leave work early again to go pick it up. My computer was back to me in BRAND NEW condition within a week of dropping it off with him. I couldnt recommend them any more and will definitely go back to them if I have any other computer issues. I do have to mention, the repair bill was expensive but that is because Apples parts are SO expensive. I was even provided a breakdown of the cost (for insurance purposes) and their labor cost was more than reasonable. I highly recommend them if your computer is out of warranty like mine was!!!

Bill(the CEO) is the BEST technician I have ever met!!!!I came in the other day trying to get my Mac Book Pro fixed to make it fast enough to work with music production software. I know that this might cost me a little bit because the Mac Book Pro was a 2011 late model and had some bad malware of sorts on it. I came in once to just see what it would cost for some basic wear and tear fixes and then later came in to actually get it done. Bill was so informative and patient with all of the needs and questions that I had. I discussed with him what I was trying to get done with the computer for my music and he went above and beyond to take care of me! My Mac is quick, smart, and my music software works like a dream! Bill looks out for his fellow tech people and he definitely cares.I grabbed a few of his business cards and I will be handing those out like flyers if I hear anyone has trouble with their apple products! I would give this guy 6 stars if I could!

The best! Way better than waiting for an appointment, dealing with the line at the Apple stores. Those stores all out-source their repairs to Houston, and you have to wait for days. Not any more! They replaced the battery on my MacBook in 24 hours and that included overnighting the parts from Apple. Then they offered a discount without asking for it. And finally, they kept me informed and they are nice folks to boot!

They know Apple inside and out, they are fast, they communicate effectively with the customer, and they made me feel valued and important. I dont always post reviews, but I wanted to go out of my way to say thank you for your excellent service. I wish all companies can be so caring, professional and kind as Tyrosys.I had a faulty software update on my 2017 Macbook Pro that turned out to have a fried Logic Board due to an electrical surge in my building last week. Highly Recommend!!! With Covid and the Apple stores being closed, I was so worried about finding a trust-worthy company to work on my IMac. For this reason, I contacted 5 or 6 of the Mac Authorized repair companies in the Austin area to get a feel for their customer service and to get an estimate to replace my PC fan that was making noise and slowing down the performance of my computer. Some of the companies didnt even answer their phones and the 3 that did wanted to charge twice as much (one was three times as much) as Grant quoted. We dropped off my computer on Tuesday, he ordered the fan and my computer was ready on Thursday morning to pick up (sooner than was promised) and at the estimate quoted. His prices are very fair and Grant has excellent customer service. I wouldnt trust my companys IMac to anyone else and I have already told my family and friends!

They had basically told me my old (2014) iMac was done, but these guys took care of it. My iMac is flying and I could not be any happier. After ten years of faithful service, our Mac Mini would no longer start. Owner Grant Chapman asked good questions, ran several diagnostic tests, and clearly explained alternatives. He was very patient with this still-a-novice user.I suspect Grant has saved us hundreds of dollars compared to the price of a refurbished Mac while extending our computers life at least several more years. We lost no data and the computer now performs flawlessly.

Could not be happier with the service, communication and pricing at TYROSYS. Bill and Grant fixed my sons cracked MacBook Air 13 early-2020 Retina Display screen 3 days before he started classes at college. Just to give you an idea of their service: The replacement screen arrived from Apple at Noon and I picked it up at 1:30pm. This, while their shop was full of other projects to complete. They make every customer feel like they are the only customer.

Had a need for quick repair to IMac and companion monitor. Called and sent pics of shorted out thunderbolt jacks. They confirmed my concerns, and I told them I would bring both IMac and monitor in - Thursday around 9:15. They gave a quick visual and an on the spot estimate, for both fixes, said they would get right on it, and I left there with confidence they knew what they were doing. By the afternoon they updated me on progress and had already ordered board for delivery Friday morning. They also indicated that I had mismatched memory as that it could be solved and increased in memory for a relatively small dollar amount . Also gave me an alternative that was more expensive but recommended the lower cost alternative. Friday morning came and I got a call late morning that they had installed the new board, memory and were doing 2 thorough test - one that took more than 5 hours. Clearly stated that they would stay beyond normal closing time -3pm- to get it back to me that late afternoon. And they did - I picked it up around five. Great service, responsive every step of the way. Went beyond my expectations for getting system problems diagnosed, parts ordered, installed, tested and returned to me. At $1,300, It was well worth it (board was majority of costs) . I would highly recommend them. You can trust them and their expertise. Or you could still be waiting at the Genius Bar at the Domain to even see someone, while I’m at my system, happily writing this review!!

Grant is great! I came into Tyrosys last week to replace a MacBook Air charger that my kitten had chewed up, and he was very friendly and helpful. He ran a full diagnostic scan and provided me with a new charger that was actually better than the previous one, for a total of $116 (which is probably much cheaper than the Apple store, and far less of a hassle). Unfortunately for me, Kitten somehow managed to get her paws on the new charger and destroyed that one too. I came back to Tyrosys and explained to Grant that I could not afford to drop another $89 on another charger. Thankfully, he had saved an older model charger from another client that still works beautifully. He placed an updated adapter on it, ran another quick diagnostic scan just to be safe, and only charged me $20. Definitely my new go-to place for MacBook help - friendly, professional and effective service that really does put the customer first. Would recommend!

He had excellent communication, was kind, friendly and patient. I also interacted with Grant (owner) and he was the utmost in these qualities as well. We are a busy family, using our mac computers ALL the time - for work, school, and fun. After 9 years of perfection my mac powerbook started having some issues and I took it in toTyrosys. I was so happy with their service and the fact that my powerbook was working better than ever that we then brought in our 4 other macs which we had “retired” to see what they could do. It was perfect! - they were able to get them all to work beautifully and it was PERFECT timing with Covid because our kids needed them for “home-schooling”. We had a 2009 imac we thought was done but when we brought it in the owner was amazing. Tests were quick and he explained everything well.He had it one day and it is like new. Love this place. Oh my goodness! What fantastic service. I must say that I have never had such amazing service. Specifically, I dropped my 2011 MacBook Air so many times it would no longer work (Dont do that). I was hoping to have it repaired but was advised it would not be cost effective. They gave me a great suggestion of where to buy my replacement. When I received my new MacBook Air they updated the software and added some additional software for free that I didnt even request! They are the best!

If you are having problems with any Apple products, I highly recommend Tyrosys Corp - Georgetown! They fixed both of my laptop Macs and both are running better than when I first purchased them!! Could NOT have had a better experience!I was referred to Tyrosys by my regular IT support guy because he doesn’t work on Apple products. Tyrosys is 40 minutes from my home in Salado. I bought the MacBook Pro from BestBuy and thought I got AppleCare. When I took it in to BB a year later with a cracked screen they told me no AppleCare. My local guy referred me to Grant at Tyrosys.- SO easy and friendly!- I didn’t even mention AppleCare but when he scanned my MacBook he said “Great news- you’ve got AppleCare. So my bill went from $600 to $120.-Here’s the kicker: I arrived to pick it up an hour after they closed yesterday. Grant saw me on the Ring doorbell, called me and said “I can be there in 10 minutes.”Absolutely over the top all the way around.

PLEASE READ AND BE WARNED:My issue dates back to June of 2018. My 27 inch iMac had randomly shut down and so I took in to Tyrosys to get it looked at. Grant ran a long stress test, but everything passed so I paid my $92.01 and it worked just fine until mid-to-late September.The iMac once again randomly shut down. Since I had this issue previously, Grant mentioned it could be a logic board issue and it would cost around $600. Looking for alternatives, he suggested that we wipe the system clean and start from scratch. I obliged and paid my $92.01 a second time.4 days after getting it back, it shut down AGAIN. I called Grant the day it happened and every single week in October leaving a few messages during that time. No call back, no messages -- nothing. I have not heard from Tyrosys in ONE month of trying to find out what the next steps should be.I took it to the Apple Store in the Domain. Since Tyrosys is an Authorized Service Provider for Apple, they had all of the notes. They mentioned that my RAM failed in late May/early June. Well that doesnt make sense? My paperwork shows that it passed. The paperwork that Grant gave me shows that everything passed but IN THE SYSTEM -- it shows it failed. So was I given a fake report?!The Apple employee was baffled by this and called her manager. It is currently being worked on by Apple and the Apple employees cant understand why I was never told that my RAM failed. They were also upset that I was immediately told that it could be a logic board issue before running anymore tests.The manager of Apple assured me that they would look into this and scanned all of my paperwork from Tyrosys and took my information down for a scheduled phone call with Apple to discuss what happened.PLEASE - if you need service on Apple products -- take it to Apple at 3121 Palm Way in Austin.It upsets me that I paid twice to a local business for the total of $184.02. I support local businesses as much as I can, but Tyrosys will no longer receive my recommendations to friends and family nor my business for family.My computer could have been fixed back in June at the cost of services, labor and parts but this has been a 6 month ordeal now.

Thank goodness for Tyrosys & it’s cofounder - Grant Chapman!!! He’s guided & taught me every step of the way to put together an iMovie for my mother’s 90th Birthday. I could have never even come close to completing this project w/out his expert knowledge of Apple and his patient teaching style. I bought a used 2015 MBP from craigslist. Didnt realized until I got home that the wifi adapter and the SD card reader werent working (confirmed with hardware test). I scheduled a Genius appointment at the Domain store but had zero hopes of getting my issue resolved quickly and cheaply. Tyrosys appeared on their search as an authorized dealer so decided to give them a call. Spoke to Grant (the owner). He listened patiently and told me to come in and they will take a look for $50. Decided to take a chance, and boy did I have an amazing experience. We sat face to face on a desk in their *quiet* and clean office. He opened up the Macbook infront of my eyes, ran the detailed scan from their on-premise servers, and proceeded to trouble shoot the issue one by one, and within 10 minutes found that one of the I/O ports was disconnected. Pushed the port into its socket and Voila it was completely fixed. Cost me only $53 and had a most personable and friendly conversation with Grant while he was doing it. What an enjoyable experience!Bottom line, if you have any issue with any of your Apple products, ditch the know-nothing Geniuses at the Apple store and pay Grant a visit at TyroSys. You will thank me for it. I know. Youre welcome.
