Perry is so well run, clean, bright, the staff is incredibly friendly, and the instructors are amazing! I also love the wide variety of group exercise classes. Im excited to see even more after the renovation/expansion!
We have just paid a short visit to Perry Family YMCA. It looks like a nice facility.
Poor customer service. They owe a refund, weve been getting the run around for over a month. The person who supposedly does the refund claims she didnt know, but it has been in process since June. We show up and no one is available to speak to regarding the situation. Other than front desk. No supervisor is ever here. We canceled our membership
Just signed up today. Younger guy at front was nice, helpful and encouraging. Excited to start!
Parents be advise the splash pool can be dangerous. First time my kids use the splash pool and one got hurt after losing his balance and losing his step on the stairs. He got all scratched up in his knees and feet I will try to provide a picture. We had to leave as soon as that happened. The bucket of water that dumps/drops the water down has to much water causing it to have so much pressure more than any waterpark I been too.
Nice facility, but the lady over summer camp Kelli is so rude and seems to not really care about her job. Take your children to anther YMCA and make sure she isnt over it. Very unprofessional!
Just moved here and been going to this Y for a few months now. So far irs a pretty awesome gym and everyone in there especially the trainers are super helpful and offer helpful insights and pointers.
They never answer the phone and Ive been trying to get a membership for awhile now and every time I go in the manager is busy! Hate there isnt another one closer to us!
This is a nice facility, in an excellent location, and with very nice staff, but they are pricey.
I am just amazed Of the positive environment at this gym. Staff is very friendly and kids teachers are very attentive.! My children are happy and want to stay! Gym is equipped and clean. The Facility is clean and Pool is amazing. If you are looking for a friendly, family oriented gym.. Look no further! Plus, they have tons of workout classes!
Great facility and very clean. Isnt too full after work too, and they have very new equipment. The outdoor fields are also well maintained.
Perry YMCA is a great family friendly place that my kids love to go to. There are plenty of machines and weights, there are convenient classes throughout the day, and they have an awesome heated pool.
I have become more socially adept and at peace in groups. My balance, coordination, and health have improved. It has given me a good feeling of relief from pain and stiffness.
Beautiful facility. Very clean with friendly staff. The fitness room has a wonderful variety of weight machines and free weights. Theres a wide variety of classes to choose from, and the child care center is really nice.
The staff is great. They make you feel appreciated and that they are really glad that you are there.
Silver Sneakers is a great program for older adults and Denise is an excellent instructor. Highly recommend the program.
Perry Y is a clean, safe facility offering numerous classes with exceptional instructors who motivate and push me. The Wellness Center has a lot of new cardio equipment, a vast array of weight training options, clean locker room and a friendly staff available to assist you if needed.
My daughter is swimming because she has a great and patient teacher (she was so scared of water) . I’m so glad I enrolled her here . The place is so nice and clean. A beautiful building with caring and nice people.
Our boys enjoy playing basketball here with their friends, and it’s close to the house!
Clean place. Locker room is clean and not too hot so you dont just sweat after a shower. Machines that are down get fixed fast. I wish they had plate loaded machines. Dont play music, or at least what you can hear, but most people have headphones so I guess it doesnt matter. Friendly crowd too.
Karen Grumble makes exercising so much fun. Always so enthusiastic!
Friendly, clean, great staff. My kids LOVE the daycare. They actually take the time to interact and have fun with the kids rather than just throwing them in a room. Swim lessons were great. I would suggest this to anyone.
Good selection of equipment and classes in the fitness center, and my kids liked the summer day camp. Some of the instructors arent so great, so if you go into, say, the evening yoga classes, its a good idea to err on the conservative side with poses or just sit out anything youre not sure of.
My family and I have been here for almost a year, while the gym is well kept and staff is helpful the experience with Kindergarten soccer has been dreadful. We have no coach, half of the games have been postponed 3-4 hours after scheduled times, and to top it off the team is constantly misinformed via email for games. Hope they can get themselves organized, will likely be asking for a refund.
Weve been members here for over 2 years now. I love the YMCA but this review is for the gym. I like that its not as crowded as the bigger gyms. Im always asking the staff how to correct my form when trying a new exercise and their always helpful. They actually come out and walk around and stand and look around as well. They do not have all of the equipment such as the bigger gyms but they are much smaller and would not be able to fit everything but it works for all levels of fitness.
Excellent community. I love the classes, atmosphere, staff and child watch.
I called to get some more information about the swim classes, and I wish I didnt. I spoke to a very annoyed Cheryl who could have cared less about helping me. I asked her if she was able to help me, and she informed me i can actually find all the info online... Well i needed pricing, because I was not able to fins the info online. After a very exaggerated sigh of annoyance, she says well are you a member! me: No maam well its $115 per session. Okay, what if i was a member? her response, $75!I do not mind spending the money but it will not be with them. You are asking people to spend that kind of money, you nee to invest some of that in training and people skills.
Love my new membership at the Y. They offer so many things. Everything is clean and very well maintained. If there is any down fall its their hours of operation.
Great community YMCA. I think the trainers need to do a better job of engaging their clients, members, and bring more energy to the table. Some trainers need to focus on their clients and making sure their movements are fluid and not letting their clients continue through dysfunctional movements.
We cancelled our memebership well well before the 10 day minimum to cancel.... They didnt enter it into the computer until almost 10 days after we cancelled it... So they ended up charging us again and told us oh well it wasnt put in until this day so we have to have it approved before we can refund you... It was thier mistake and lack of doing thier job properly as to why it wasnt entered in... Its been 3 weeks and still being told its processing.... I will never go back to the ymca... It was fun for the gym and pool but they dont care about you after you leave
Great workout facility. Really appreciate the new machines and layout.
Love the group excercises. Spin class with Korie, RIPPED, and Pop Pilates are the best classes. Love this place.
We had a membership here for about a year. We used it for their little water park area for the kids. Kids have to take a swim test before they can get a wristband to use the slide. Since my youngest was just learning to swim, they did not allow arm floaties, so I had to walk around behind her at all times. It was against the rules for my oldest to pick up her sister in the water. Its a bit oppressive with lifeguards placed like every 2 ft, so lots of whistle blowing. They take breaks, so everyone has to get out for like 10 mins. There is a covered patio area that you can sit and put your stuff. Plus, a walk-up window to order smoothies from Smoothie King. I had taken both kids there for swim lessons. The older one went when they had a different system where they were grouped by level of ability. She ended with a the top level where she had to tread water for so long and learn how to group together if there was a group of people needing rescue. Now they teach by grouping by age. Not as good. They use their lap pool for lessons and have a separate time for lap swimming. This is not a full Olympic sized pool. We also went there for family yoga. I would put my youngest in the free daycare (for members). There is a weight room too. My older daughter went there for their camps. But, they are outside in the pavilion area most of the day. The camp counselors are teens and dont know how to handle conflict most of the time. My kid said that after they swim, they arent allowed to shower off in the shower/changing rooms. That drove her crazy the most.
Poor staff, need to work on their customer relations. Attempted to call to cancel my account and was told account cancellation has to be done in person. Was then hung up on by the receptionist Cheryl. Will not be going back ever.
Im very disappointed in the pool this year they dont open until 11 this year and they just changed it until noon.... i use the childwatch just so i take my older kids swiming now i can only swim for an hour instead of two... the whole reason i have the membership is for the pool... its not even worth it to me now
The RIPPED and Tae Bo classes are awesome. Great instructors that keep you motivated. The hour will be over before you know it.
I would give this place a 0 out of 5 stars if I could strictly based on the service at the front desk. The older, white haired gentleman who works the front desk appears to have been hired straight from the DMV. If you want to deal with a condescending/arrogant dude, you’ve come to the right place. It would best serve the Y to get rid of this guy.
Very nice facility with Water slide at pool, good childcare hours, and several activities. Staff needs training on friendliness and the workout room needs more free weight equipment.
Its a fine little gym. The lack of towels has really been grinding me down though.
Loved every minute i have ever spent there!
I always look forward to coming to the Y....Its always a positive and healthy and social experience...
Super Happy New to the town My Family and We ♡ what I see & great Ratings . Just got here October 10th from NYC. Cant wait to start :)
I asked to sign my grandson up for swimming lessons. I waited on hold for over 10 minutes to be disconnected. When I called back someone picked up and hung up.
Staff AND fellow members have a slim chance of being friendly and competent. Join at your own risk.
Very clean place, nice and friendly workers.
This place is awesome. Friendly staff and everything is so convenient.
There are diferente linda of disciplinas and the staff os awesome.
Some of the staff could use people skills! Act like they are being inconvenienced.
Clean, friendly and positive atmosphere. It is going to save my life.
Nothing but positive experiences here. Clean, friendly, atmosphere
Great place with great energy !
Great atmosphere for all ages, anytime there is a problem the staff always tries to get you anything you need!
