Ive had a homeowners policy with Joe Cook for 13 years since I purchased my home. In 2014, I added Auto Coverage. At one point I called the office and asked for a quote to add full coverage to another vehicle. It was suppose to be just a quote but instead I received my next months bill and it had increased by $500.00/month. I have many emails going back and forth where I tried to have this taken off my policy as I never agreed nor could I afford a $500.00/month increase. When I received no replies or assistance, I went and got a new insurance policy. Now three years later, they are still trying to collect $1,042.00 of which only $500.00 was from my original policy before I asked for a quote. I did not agree to have this quote added to my policy nor could anyone in Joe Cooks office provide me with a binding agreement with my signature to say I authorized this change to my policy. Joe Cooks office said they could do nothing to help me and turned me over to a Customer Advocate for Nationwide. She was also unable to assist me, so I had no choice but to pay the $1,042.00. Its sad, when a company is so big, they no longer accept responsibility for their mistakes and pass it on to the consumer. I am currently shopping for new homeowners insurance and hopefully will be away from the Joe Cook Agency forever. By the way, the normal Joe Cook customer has no access to him anymore. I asked to speak with him personally on this matter, but he is to big and to busy to talk to anyone he insures now.
