This place is a joke! They had my tax stuff since February and still have done nothing with it now in May! I will congratulate them on being worse then H and R block. I didnt think that was possible.

We usually do our own taxes, but decided to have professionals do our returns with the recent tax changes. We were NOT happy with the service West & West gave us. It took over 3 months to get our tax returns submitted and our returns are not complicated. We had to send our returns and also that of our daughter, back for revisions multiple times. They would send them back with the same mistakes not corrected. It took 4 times of sending and resending the W2 info before they finally got it correct on our daughters return and she is just a college student with part time jobs. They would go weeks before they replied and wouldnt even answer the questions I asked. We proofed our returns meticulously since we couldnt count on them to do them correctly. Oh, and even the invoice for their service was wrong and higher than we were quoted. Beware of using this company. We will look elsewhere for tax help in the future.

I was recommended to West and West Accounting by a friend/coworker and wish I had known about them sooner. I used to do my taxes myself online, I thought that I would get the same refund no matter who did it but I was wrong. They are experts and help maximize my refund and I now am getting more money back. I have met with Reed and have done it with him each year after. I have 6 kids and am always dragging little ones in with me; and they are all so patient and kind about it even though my kids were testing my own patience😂. Reed even pulled out toys for my kids to play with that he keeps in his office. He is relatable, a family guy, and fun to joke with. The front desk staff is amazing, accommodating, and welcoming. They are easy to reach, I have had no problems. And if that wasnt enough, their bathroom is really nice, clean, and smells good. Im a customer for life! Its been such a huge stress relief and time saver for me, I cant fathom going anywhere else or ever doing them on my own again.

They are a bunch of crooks and fraud people. They will use your name and social security number on taxes without your permission. They also sign the tax returns as if they are you.

Reed helped me file multiple years of back taxes, took a while longer than I thought it would, but very satisfied with the results. What I was charged was less than what he saved me because of things I wouldnt have known about if I filed myself.

A few years ago, on the recommendation of a daughter and a friend of hers, I changed from a company in another state to having Dale do my taxes. I have been so pleased and grateful for his expertise. Its an 80 mile round trip drive for me, and well worth it.

I have been getting my taxes completed by this company for several years because they helped with getting refunds. Before going to them, I had never received a refund. Mr. Dale West identified deductions that were being missed.I can not fail to mention areas that could use improvements, which you are aware if you have read other reviews. Most of them are true. I have experienced everything that I have read in other ppl reviews.

We came here last year and worked with reed. We had a few questions about our taxes and called, called and called. The receptionist just blew us off. Finally my husband stopped by to try and ask him in person. The lady at the front didn’t even bother to ask him if he had just a second to answer a few questions. We received very poor service by the front staff and just had to file without getting things answered. This year we decided we would give them another try. We saw Dale. He is a great guy!!!! We had some questions for him and called and left a message with the front desk. Again, never heard back. Called today and talked to The front desk lady again, I believe her name is Amber? Or somewhere a long those lines. She was VERY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. Said they are too busy to talk to us. Um....excuse me... If you really are too busy to not be able to take some tome out of your day to call someone back.. maybe you should schedule some time in your day and space it out better. As reading the reviews here, I see that is their main problem. The front desk, and rude customer care. We are paying YOU as well as others to be able to ask questions on our taxes. Sadly, we will not be returning. I do not recommend them for the sole reason of the customer care. Dale was great but the front staff not so much. All they do is argue with you and as you can see on the negative reviews here... they again argue. How unprofessional.

I was surprised to see negative reviews. I have been a client of West & West Accounting since 2005. Everyone I have interacted with there has been professional, helpful, and even gone the extra mile for my husband & I. They are honest and straightforward, which I much appreciate, especially when I have to face a difficult financial situation. What the negative reviews describe, I have not seen.

I have been doing business with West and West for more than 10 years now. They are the best accountants I have worked with. I recommend everyone to them. They are smart...very smart. They are quick as well. Within days of me dropping off my paperwork I have my taxes done. I recommend them for business and personal. They are very very good!

Complete awful customer service. The first year I went to them they lost my tax packet. When I called to see what was taking so long they indeed informed me it was lost. Why didn’t they call me to let me know? Poor customer service. I gave them the benefit of the doubt. This year I got audited education of $2000. I had no idea what to do, what it meant, what info to provide or anything. I called multiple times, got hung up on, said I would get calls back.. nothing. I also sent detailed emails to reed asking for help. The audit had a deadline so I paid the $2000 2016 audit with my 2017 return. Once I received a bill I explained why I didn’t think I should pay it because I hardly got any service and the service I did get was awful. Also I had asked for my packet to be sent to me through the mail... NEVER received. (Another reason I shouldn’t have to pay for something I never received). When I brought this to his attention he said I could log into the client portal or pay $15 for it to be sent through mail. Another thing they NEVER mentioned. Why tell me you will mail it if you have no intention of doing so? Awful customer service. Through email he offered 15% off and when I said I was going to write a review he then decided to no longer give me a discount. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE. They do NOT care about their clients. I had referred people there and now those people i will have go to my new tax person. I’m sure they will write a response trying to justify this but obviously by the poor reviews I’m not the only one! Safe yourself the hassle! He has helped me and my family members for years. He has no control over the speed of refunds once the return is filed, but he has always been very timely and accurate. I have used the Wests for my taxes for over 5 years. They have saved me a lot of money. I was doing my taxes with a computer program and felt I had it all figured out but decided to try them to see if I could at least save enough to pay them to do my taxes, they did and found things missed by the computer programs and saved me 2,000 beyond that. Every year, they have saved me a bundle and have been great to get financial advise that has saved me more.Those that put disparaging comments may have been upset over delays or such, and it is not fair since I assume a tax accountant can not counter with private information to explain everything in a balanced manner. I know that I turn in my information a week before our visit so they have time to review it and it is usually done (both my private taxes and my business taxes).

We were referred to west and west accounting by family who had received great service. After our first meeting (which was really pleasant) here we were really excited to move our business here. No need to get into the details, but we are very displeased with how the people of this business operate. Because of the poor (and unprofessional) way we were treated we will not be coming back to them for their services. Trust the negative reviews you do read. There is truth to them.

I have been using the services of West accounting for at least a decade and have been always pleased with how fast and prompt it was, UNTIL this year.I provided my information to their online platform at the end of January. It is now March 9th. Even my parents already have their tax return. I have called in many times trying to get someone started on it. I have been told several times I would be called and never heard from said person.I asked how to upload my files on their platform, the receptionist had no idea. Was supposed to get a call about how, but never did.I ended up having to figure it out myself. I was told at the end of February that someone would be working on my taxes. I called a week and a half later to find out when my tax return would be refunded, only to find it hadnt even been started on!I was told I would be called and yet again never got a call. I was then told I need to come in because of questions she had. I live in Sandy and I am not taking off work to meet with someone who cant keep to their word of calling me or who take so very long to submit taxes.After working with them for at least a decade, I will never work with them again. Extremely frustrated and disappointed with the service.**In response, I would like to state that NO, you have NOT been trying to contact me. I got a call this past Friday. Literally, the FIRST time a call has been made out to me in 6 weeks. I never expected to put it in online and have it done immediately. But 6 weeks? and many other issues have not been addressed. Please return my information, I will not be using you anymore.

My wife and I have worked with Dale for many years on preparing our tax returns, including when my wife had a home piano business. We have experienced exceptional customer service and have referred several people to this business.

I have been doing my own taxes for the last 10 years, but for some god aweful reason I dont know why I decided to have them done by a professional.I was referred to these people by a friend so I assumed good quality service. However that didnt seem to be the case with them handling my records.Like many other low rated reviews. Following up on customers is a serious issue with this small company.Either they need to increase their staff or limit their customers because it took over 6 months to finally get anything done on my taxes and thats also me repeatedly to go in and ask the status or what they need to get my taxes done.The ladys behind the counter are nice enough, but many times they promised to call back or send information I requested never to be heard from again.There is a serious lack of organization in this small company which is ashame. I hope they can better fix their system in the future but I wont be using them again.

Been going to Reed since 2005 and have loved that I just pay him and he does it all for me. He finds anything he can to help gets us the best tax return and gets it done quickly and is very friendly and professional.

Worst service EVER. I have had them do my taxes for several years for both my personal and business taxes. The first year was not bad, the next year our taxes seemed to get passed around the office and when I would call with questions I could never get a straight answer and the receptions were rude and unprofessional ( in attitude and dress). I turn in my tax information the first or second week of January so as to get things done promptly and it took until well into February to get filed, our taxes are not that complicated. This year, which will be our final year with this company, I turned my paperwork in the second week of January 2017 and we didnt get filed until March 28! I was repeatedly told when I called for updates that an email had been sent requesting information (emails I only got one time), I requested phone calls instead, this never happened. This made our 1120s late, I received a notice from IRS stating we had been fined for late filing. I called West and West and they lied and said our return had been timely filed and the notice was incorrect and they would handle it. May 19 I received a notice of intent to lien from the IRS due to non-payment of my fine. This time I personally contacted the IRS and was told that my return was in fact filed late and the fine was valid, no extension had been filed or any contact by West ad West other than the efile on March 28. I contacted West and West and was this time given the story that they had filed and extension and contacted them regarding the fine, neither of which was supported by the IRS. I asked if a copy of the extension could be emailed to me so I could personally take care of this, because with all of the run around I have gotten I no longer have faith that they do what they say. The only thing I did like about them was that they didnt require the bill paid until I got my refund, so Reed informed my that I could get the extension only after my bill was paid. They have been paid for every service they have provided in the 4 years I used them, so to be told that they would do nothing until they had my money like I was a new customer was beyond rude and inconsiderate considering I was so upset because of their late filing. I ended the phone call because I had customers calling and was left a message by Reed threatening legal action if they didnt get their money, without mention to the fact that the IRS was trying to put a lien because of late filing that they lied to me about. Save yourself the time, energy, and frustration and USE SOMEONE ELSE!!!!! They got one star because it wont let you leave a review without putting at least one.

2018 went to them for my taxes and everyone around me was getting their returns back and I wasn’t. Went back and found out they never filed my taxes. Receptionist was asleep when I went in and there were dirty dishes piled on the counter in the room behind her.

My experience with this firm is very similar to the MANY bad reviews theyve received. My advise to anyone considering going to them, read the reviews!! Also, recognize that they only reply to the negative ones, constantly trying to cover up their issues with feisty rebuttals. This alone should be a big red flag for customers. Save yourself the hassle and disappointment and go somewhere else.

My husband worked with this firm for his business for three years, and we had them also do our personal taxes for two years. The first year when they did only the business taxes, things went smoothly. My husband had the opportunity to work with the elder West, and he did a great job.The second two years didnt go well at all. They filed extensions on our taxes both years without talking to us. We waited and waited for our tax refund, until we got frustrated and called. The office staff was rude and unhelpful, and no one ever returned our calls. We literally had to hound them to get our taxes done, and we didnt receive our refunds until the second half of the year both years.They also convinced my husband to file amendments on previous years taxes. The amendments were not file correctly and now were being audited. My husband has been trying to contact them to get copies of the amended paperwork for the IRS, but they havent returned his calls. Once we clean up the mess they made, I hope never to do business with them again.RE: Response Below - Its funny that the office staff has no record of us contacting you, since my husband finally went in personally and picked up the documents we needed two days ago from the secretary. It would be nice if you spent as much time on customer service as on damage control. Ive never had such a fast response from West & West as this review prompted. Thank you for the call as well, although I would have preferred if youd asked how you could help us with the audit your company prompted instead of complaining about us leaving a negative review. Received a voicemail saying I have an outstanding balance on an account and a couple other accounts... Didnt address me by name. No outstanding debt on my credit report and Ive never even heard of the company.

This is the worst place I have ever dealt with..... We had a meeting with reed he sat us down and told us that my wife could claim my son on her taxes and he would take care of everything, then a couple months goes by and we get a call they need more papers turn them in and again a couple months goes by and then more papers so finally we get her taxes and guess what..... all the stuff we turned in did not matter because they went off the year before and did not claim my son now they are saying its against the law for my wife to claim my son really? i will never recommend this place to anyone......

Used to be great. This most recent time, they took forever and even filed an extension for my uncomplicated taxes. They didnt even tell me. I called and was told that, when my taxes were dropped off, whomever dropped them off signed an acknowledgement that my taxes might have to be extended. My father dropped them off and he told me he didnt sign a thing. The time I called after that, I was lied to about paperwork I needed to provide, only to find out that I actually DIDNT need to provide such paperwork. Then, after THAT, I was told their computers were down for a week. I emailed Dale to convey my frustrations, but was never contacted back. It took my father calling them and demanding answers before they finally got my taxes done. Awful, just awful. I never got so much as an apology for their unprofessional practices. Plus, I was charged more this year than any previous year. Im taking my taxes elsewhere from now on and my family members said theyre doing the same. Such a shame since weve been clients for years.*** REPLY TO BUSINESS RESPONSE: I was LIED to - EVERY SINGLE TIME I CALLED...LIE #1: When I called on April 20th to inquire about my taxes as nobody told me they filed an extension, the receptionist told me that I signed an acknowledgement that by dropping off my taxes I understood they might need to be filed for an extension. I told her my dad dropped them off, then she said he signed the form. He didnt sign anything! He handed them straight to Debbie West & wasnt told anything about a possible extension.LIE #2: During the same call referenced above, the receptionist told me she put them at the top of Debbies files and that Debbie would start on them the next day, or Friday at the latest.This obviously wasnt the case as during the 2nd phone call (on April 26th), I was told I needed to fill out an HSA-related form and turn it in to them. When I asked the receptionist why I was finding out about this now when I shouldve been informed Thurs or Friday when my taxes were started, she stated they were very busy. So, I said to her So, when you told me that Debbie was going to start on my taxes no later than Friday, that actually DIDNT happen? She replied, Yes.LIE #3: When I called my HSA provider and asked about the form I was told by the receptionist was required, I was informed that I didnt need to provide that form as I didnt take anything from my HSA for the year and all West & West needed to do was ask me that, and theyd have known I didnt need the form & could have proceeded on my taxes.LIE #4: I left a voicemail for West & West on May 2nd, letting them know that I didnt need to provide them the form as I didnt take anything from my HSA last year. I received a call back the next morning stating that my taxes were, once again, at the top of Debbies files and would be started on that day and to expect to have my tax paperwork emailed to me that day or the day after, which didnt happen.LIE#5: When I called toward the end of the week to inquire, I was told by the receptionist that their computers had been down the whole week. I called back a little later and asked to speak to Dale West, but the receptionist told me he has no phone extension. What kind of business doesnt have different extensions for each of the people working there??? I find both things that I was told really hard to believe.--- After that call, I emailed Dale West, explaining my frustrations and asking if he could look into why I was being told so many different things throughout this whole process with no progress seeming to happen. I never got a reply from him. It wasnt until the following Monday after telling my dad (a client as well) that I hadnt heard anything a was very frustrated, that he decided to phone West & West and demand some answers. Thats when I FINALLY received my tax return email. If Id been treated like a client who mattered, Id have been more understanding. Obviously, they only care about their money. Hey West & West, your checks in the mail. So, no need to make anymore threats.

They are very unorganized, flakey, and have terrible customer service. I had my tax return appointment 27 Feb 15 and was told I would get my return in around 18 days. Then after 25 days I called and the very rude receptionist couldnt find anything with my name and said she would call me right back and didnt. So I called the next day demanding answers and they hadnt even started. Dont do business with them.

Horrible!!! Didnt ever send my taxes in. No apology, rude and unprofessional. I dont know how they stay in business.

Filed taxes in March still havent gotten them back almost three months later. Staff is unhelpful and unprofessional. Wouldnt recommend.
