Smedley sent an installer out to give me a bid on replacing my furnace vent ducting. He was a bit vague on the pricing and promised to call me back the same day with a price, but he never called. He also told me while he was here that he would be able to do the work within about 2 business days. Ive never heard from him since. I dont understand this behavior. I had Smedley install a new air conditioner about five years ago, and it was a great experience. They did good work then and we were pleased with the results, but definitely not with their visit this time.

I just had Smedleys replace the HVAC system in my house, and they did a stellar job. Totally please with the whole process. I knew my system was dying, so I was in the process of getting bids. First, Neldon gave me a detailed bid with numerous options as to level of product and price. When my system actually died, Gary helped me pick out the best options for my budget, and then dispatched a repairman to get my old unit bandaided together so wed have AC on 100+ degree days until they could get us installed. And that was AT NO COST! The install went well, and quite pleased how things look. When I had some concerns about whether the system was working properly, they sent out Shawn, the service manager, who checked everything out for me. Id highly recommend them...they didnt need to patch up my old AC for free, and of the 4 bids I got, they gave me the best value as far as equipment vs. price.

I was just ran off the road by one of their technicians who was in the right turn lane and they decided to go straight on secondstreetgoingeast. They were also on the phone probably with the customer letting them know that they were almost there. They had stopped at a house on the north side of Adams Ave. He was so rude to me. I dont think I will ever do any business with them if they are the place on earth. If they act like that in a company van I can only imagine what they are really like!!! I wish I could give you negative stars.

We had Smedley come out to inspect our HVAC system because it would turn off after running for a short time. They told us that our furnace was installed incorrectly and that our AC was two sizes to big for our home. So we would need to replace our entire system. Turns out all that was wrong with our HVAC was a bad motor in the furnace. We called them out through our home warranty company and they were obviously just trying to squeeze as much money out of us as possible. Save yourself the head ache and use New City HVAC a local small business that wont rip you off.

This is the most honest contractor I have ever dealt with. They come on time, the do the work that needs to be done, and ONLY the work that needs to be done. If the fix is a simple and inexpensive one, they do it. They have only tried to convince me I need new equipment when I really needed it.

We had another company quote us and the quote they gave was $100 less for a better quality AC. I asked how much to tune up our furnace and they did it no charge. I will recommend.

My furnace was having some issues. Called and got a very quick appointment. Matt showed up and very quickly identified the problem. June 16, 2010 - Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! My air conditioner was on its last leg after 22 years. I contacted three of the most popular truck HVAC vans that you see rolling through the community. They each came out, did their evaluation, and gave me an estimate.An estimate without the model number…just the name of the unit...Coleman, Day and Night Go figure? One business Refused to give me the model number even after five days. Kyle Smedley contacted me after receiving my name from the Lennox company. I said you could come out if you can give me the model numbers of your suggestions. He said of course! I was blown away not only did I get the model numbers… He gave me a very nice brochure that list it more specifications that I even wanted to make an educated decision. They even gave me three or four options to pay for the unit… I chose the cash option where they gave a slight discount.That’s all I wanted from the other HVAC companies… But they are not willing to share the information… And I don’t know why. I felt very confident in making a decision with the Smedley company because I felt they were upfront with me and not about playing shenanigans.So, I highly recommend Smedley Heating and Air… After going through several other companies and seeing how they behaved. Grady, the HVAC technician did the installation. He was dressed appropriate for the job very neat well groomed...Clean… On time…. Much cheaper than Friendly. We replaced a water heater and it was a difference of hundreds of dollars. Smedly is old school open and paper where Friendly has laptops and text messages. I just felt better about Smedly.

Our 15 yr. old AC has been acting up for a month and finally died 2 days ago. We called Smedley and Associates from whom we bought the last one. Nelden came the next day, gave us our options, and we decided to buy a new AC Unit. I begged him to get it installed the next day knowing it’s their busiest time, and that the chances were slim. We had family arriving from Hawaii and big family party in 2 days. Nelden put forth the effort and was able to get a technician to, indeed, install it the next day! Grady showed up at 8:30 am and worked straight through to 3:30pm and got it done. He was courteous and left everything perfect. It was a big job! I am extremely grateful for the fabulous service and for going the extra mile for us.

They replaced my old water heater during an extremely busy period over the Columbus Day holiday. When the old water heater went out, they were the first company to fit me into their schedule. The bid was reasonable, even better than other companies I contacted. I wouldnt hesitate to hire them again.

He arrived15 minutes early and finished on schedule. Did exactly what he said he would do and was very careful not to damage anything. He cleaned up after himself and took all the old pipe with him. I have already recommended him to others. It was a very good experience.

We had a service call today for our ac unit. The service guy was very polite and did his job great. They charged me 60$ for the service call which is totally understandable. The problem I have is that it is completely unethical to charge me 110$ for a part that costs 25$ at most. I own a business myself and would never feel right about taking advantage of any of my clients like this. What a crock! Mr. Smedley is crooked if you ask me. I have no problem paying for the employees time and a fair price for the part. But not a 400% markup get real!?!

Did a good job on some things. They installed a new high efficiency boiler but the pressure is all wrong so now my radiator joints leak. I told them about it and they said they would come back and fix it.... that was last year and Im still waiting. Had some other little issues with the job they did and I talked to them about it. They promised to fix those as well and still havent showed up. Had another issue with a pipe they came barely looked at it and left saying they would have to cut into my walls to fix it. I found myself with a little extra time so I looked at it and found out it was an easy fix, no wall cutting needed. Ive given these guys enough tries, time to find someone new.

Jerry was great! I had to change the draft induction assembly on my friends Lennox furnace, mainly due to a poor, definitely unethical and probably illegal, installation performed by a local competitor. The Smedley guys had the part I needed in stock and for far less than all the competitors I tried. One competitor wanted to charge me over twice the quote I got from Smedley, for a diagnosis fee, even though I did the diagnosis. Jerry explained why I needed the additional part, and it made great sense.

They didnt come out when they were suppose to. Then a couple days later when they came out, they turned on the A/C and cleaned a filter and demanded their money. Wouldnt even take care of the problem that was called about in the first place. We told them what happens after it gets turned on and He said it wasnt possible and wouldnt even stick around for a few minutes to see what it would do. He just wanted the money and left. Doesnt care that he left elderly people without a/c. I will never refer anyone to them.

Just had these folks come out to fix our furnace in our modular home. Diagnosed as a faulty thermocouple. Guy had it installed and working again in less than half an hour. Will definately do bussiness again.

After having been quoted $59.99 to turn on gas valve at my condo, i thought it would be ok to let my wife pay for it. When the technician was done he quoted her $130. When she asked what went wrong he said nothing and asked if she had been quoted a price. She said $59.99 and he said oh, well i guess we can do that. He simply tried to take advantage of her inexperience. Never again.

I was referred to Smedley by a friend.I had a hvac company come out a month ago to fix a problem. They replaced a part and charged me $205. A/c wasRunning ok when they left but progressively got warmer. Upon looking into it, the coils were filled with grass clippings, spider webs,& dirt. I was surprised that they hadn’t maintained that, since I paid $205 for a 15 minute visit? Upon calling the other company,(Comfort Systems), they said that I would need to schedule a “maintence” if I needed anything other than a diagnostic. For REAL?!Your technician is already out here and can’t do a job, even if it’s an extra fee??”!?Smedley came out and tested the air and CLEANED the a/c and I will only use them in the future.

Last year I had a capacitor blow on my A/C. I replaced it but didnt hook up one wire. The Smedley guy came, I already had the service panel open, he connected the one wire, then left, charging us $80 (I wasnt at home)!! Took all of 3 minutes, most of that time to write the bill. This is the firm that installed the A/C a few years back. Called the office to ask why charged so much, manager was rude and unresponsive. Will NEVER use this firm again.

But on the contrary, the technician did only the work that was needed, and even fixed and did not charge something he mistakenly bumped and nudged out of place when my cat brushed up against his leg.
