They fixed my car when a piece of ice came crashing down from the sign above I-15!!!I meant to post this earlier... This happened the beginning of this year... A few days before I moved out of state... They did a great job! I would recommend them when you need your vehicle fixed.Great people and great service!

While the customer service at this location was good. Unfortunately the workmanship, craftsmanship & pride in their work leaves a lot to be desired!I dropped my truck off to have some slight damage fixed on the passenger side.When I picked up my truck, the first thing I realized is that they when they polished it, they burned the paint on the drivers door.When we dropped it back off to them and upon further inspection there were several paint runs on the passenger side below the decal and several orange peel/lint pieces left in the clear coat.We were supposed to pick the truck up on Thursday and when we called them to verify it’s completion, they told us that the mirror to the truck has been broken when they were polishing the truck. (Note: They didn’t call us to let us know of the damage, it wasn’t until we callWe them).We picked up the truck tonight (after hours). When we picked it up, the entire truck is covered in swirl marks, and an excessive amount of rubbing compound film was left on the truck.The tailgate has dried up rubbing compound all along the top. As someone who details vehicles on the side, it will easily take me 8-10 hours correcting problems that should not be there coming from a professional auto-body shop.

These guys are complete crooks, my truck was stolen recently wrecked and abandoned, it was towed to this shop after it was recovered by the police. This is where the nightmare of the ordeal started first I had to spend two days dealing with the DMV to get the impound release these guys insisted I needed even tho my truck wasnt impound, then instead of simply telling me the truck was obviously totaled I was told it was drivable but they didnt want to work with me or my insurance and insisted I pay the 320 for towing and two days storage, after paying that they brought my truck around and insisted I leave immediately. Remember truck is totaled, its not in a drivable condition. Thankfully my insurance agent is awesome and after a brief call to her I simply left the way I came and insurance picked up the truck from there. A little common courtesy on these guys part could have saved me two days grief over a bad situation that wasnt my fault.

First thing I noticed was their amazing customer service. I walked in with out an appointment these guys were able to give me a quote quick right on the spot and didn’t make me wait that long (Unlike another body shop in the area). Plus I noticed they also have amazing prices. Looking forward to doing business with them!

We brought another car in to them to be fixed and it came out looking good as new. Came out washed and detailed as well! Fantastic work and customer service as always! Cheers!

Beware of this shop! Ive dealt with them many times but my last two experiences were horrible and I will not go back. My door was backed into and needed to be replaced. The insurance company gave them 5 days for the work to be completed. Rather than having the correct door in hand before dropping my car off, they had me bring it in while it was supposedly on the way. They claim the wrong door was sent so they had to order another one. 13 days later my car was done, but the insurance company refused to pay the additional days for the rental car so it came out of my pocket. I never once received a call from them on the status until it was ready. I spoke to the owner and the guy is a real piece of work. He would not accept that the additional time it took was their fault and wanted to blame the person that hit my car and the insurance company. I have never had such a bad experience with a company in my life.

While driving on the freeway in my Hyundai Sonata my tire tread suddenly came off. My bumper was shredded, and my rear-view mirror was shattered, and my driver’s side door wouldn’t open.I spoke with my insurance adjuster and asked about my rental car options. They told me it would be a few days before they could even determine whether or not I would be eligible to get a rental car. I was searching around for repairs shops when I decided to call CARSTAR to ask some questions. I called and spoke with Jason about basic stuff like their hours and location, and he was very friendly and knowledgeable about their operation. I decide to bring my car there to get an estimate, and Jason was right there to greet me and helped me out immediately.I told Jason about my adjuster saying that it could take a few days to get a rental car, he instantly got in touch with my adjuster and told her that my car was disabled, and I wasn’t even able to get in and out of my driver’s side door. Once the adjuster heard from Jason the issues I was having with my car, she agreed a rental was required. Jason called a representative at the rental car company and had someone there to pick me up in 10 minutes.Not only was the service at CARSTAR amazing, but they also had my car ready 4 days sooner than they originally quoted. I appreciated that they called me with updates on my car every step of the way. I never had to follow up with questions because they were all over it. The quality of the work is amazing. I cannot even tell there was ever any damage, and I think they even cleaned the interior!Thank you CARSTAR for taking care of me and my car during my unfortunate experience, I was fortunate to have selected you for my service!

Great company!! I brought my car in just to “see” what could be done (brand new, not even two weeks old). They inspected the area, brought the painter out, he instantly said let me try to fix it NOW. Clay and his team at Carstar are professional and their attention to detail is extraordinary. They worked on my husbands 1966 Mustang and made sure it was safe and fun to drive.

When dealing with an accident it can be very stressful. Clay helped me through this process and was very helpful and professional. Clay also is super knowlegable when it came to dealing with the inurance company, I dont think I would have got this kind of treatment somewhere else. He spent a lot of time talking to me and educating me through this process. My repair was a rather large one, the paint and mechanical was fixed perfect. Carstar not only does auto body work but they service anything on a vehicle. Clay helped me locate tires for my Ford Explorer and mounted them. The price was extremely competitive and the service was exceptional. He came to my place of business, picked up the car, did the work and then returned it to me. I love, love this place.

Their work is always good, no concerns of something not being done correctly. They have great customer service, free estimates, great pricing; they dont try to over charge anyone for anything. They regularly work with insurance companies for accident repairs which makes it really easy if it was damage from an accident. This is my automatic choice for auto damage repair.

Visited CarStar because of there great reviews with the intent to receive a quote. When I arrived they refused to assist me because I was working through an insurance company. Wont ever go back or recommend this place to anyone.

We had some front end work done because of an encounter with a snow bank. I was so impressed with the guys and gals at this location. Great communication, competitive quote, kept to their schedule for drop off, repair and pickup. Very friendly and informative. They let me know about some of their services I was not aware of. I also know the interior of the car was filthy when the car went in. When we picked up the car it was fully detailed inside and out and was beautiful. Felt like a new car again. I couldnt be more pleased with the quality of the repair and the overall positive feel and experience. Will definitely recommend to others and hope to use them for other car maintenance items too. Love it !!!! I drove past this shop for years on my way to work ... but did not know them. One day I got rear ended at a stop light ... and my car needed help ... the car is just a few years old so I really wanted it made right and perfect. My insurance company recommended these guys ... and within just one week at the shop it was literally restored to better condition than it was before the wreck. The paint is better looking on that part of the car now than the rest. Love these guys !!!!

Jason was awesome to deal with, explained repair in detail. Gave a timeline for completion of repair and was done when promised. Could not see any trace of dent, it blended in perfectly. Great job.

The crew at CARSTAR is phenomenal. Everything runs smoothly and is dialed in. Jason Kinnersley stayed in contact with me throughout the repair process, and kept me informed about all aspects of the repairs. Mikey is hands down the best body technician I know. George can color-match with the best of them, and my repair is completely invisible. You just cant tell that there was anything done!On top of that, everything was cleaned and detailed before they delivered it to me (and it was dirty before I dropped it off!). It looked great inside and out.Last but not least, I have no issues with any of the multiple electronic systems that were involved in the repair. The back up sensor, oncoming traffic sensor, and blind side sensor are all in perfect operation. The rear A/C was affected, and it is in proper working order as well. I know this is an area of frustration some times, and Jason K and team did a fantastic job quality checking it to make sure everything was spot on.I hope not to see them again soon for repairs, but they have my business for life!

I have recently had two different cars repaired by CARSTAR. Both cars were less than a year old and it was very important to me that they were restored to a like new condition. I could not be happier with the quality of service that was provided to me on both cars. Every member of the CARSTAR team went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with the outcome. In both situations there was parts that were factory parts that the adjuster would have not called out to be repaired but CARSTAR made sure they were installed so that my car was restored to the same condition it was before the accident. These guys installed a clear paint protection film on the front end of my new car. They did a great job at a fabulous price. Also, if you need your car fixed after an accident go to these guys. They are honest and do a great job.

They gave me a free estimate and were very thorough explaining things to me. I also thought the atmosphere was really nice. Overall, I just thought the price was a little too high and went with someone else.

CARSTAR Layton and owner Clay are the best. I have a 1999 Toyota Tacoma that was rear ended by a Ford F-350 on I-15. I was able to drive it away with the crunched bed while the F-350s radiator bled out. Drove it to CARSTAR to get the estimate for the insurance. At over 320000 miles knew it would be a total. Fortunately Clay had the same year truck in the yard and sold me the truck for parts at a very reasonable price. Jasons team straightened the frame, and installed the bed and bumper to keep a will not die Toyota on the road. 5 Stars all around!

It never took two months to get done to that standard either which was something I want to thank your techs for. I was recently rear end in my literally brand new. I was really nervous to take it to be fixed. The insurance recommendation was Car Star. Im really glad they did. I took my car in for an eval. I set up an appointment to take our van in for brake work and they goofed up and thought we rescheduled for next week. Needless to say they were not prepared to handle our van when we came in. It took half a day to get it fixed yet CarStar did a great job. The brakes didnt need to be fixed so they were able to clean them up for us. I know it was a hassle yet their team did an amazing job fitting us in and working with us to make we were taken care of! You cant pay for that kind of service! Thanks for making a frustrating experience a great experience!So we used them again recently when our van was hit by a deer and they did a great job in getting our van fixed and back to us!

The CarStar team in Layton does amazing work! My car was repaired by another body shop in town that was recommended by my insurance. This other shops repairs to my car were not only substandard, but flat out unsafe. I took my car to CarStar in Layton to fix all that was repaired incorrectly and missed by the first shop, and CarStars work was terrific. My car is as good as new thanks to their work. They dont cut corners on the work they do, so their prices may be higher than budget auto shops, but the quality of their work is totally worth it.

Fixed dents in our car really well, but damaged a latch on our door. When we complained, and they fixed it free of charge.

I have taken two cars in for timing belts and have been absolutly satified with the work and the service. They kept me up to date on how the work was going and even called and said the work would cost less than originally bid. I will only go to Car Star from now on for all of my auto tune-ups and repairs.

This place and its team are amazing. I had a disagreement with my insurance company after my car was in an accident as to what needed to be mechanically evaluated and felt like both the insurance company and the insurance recommended shop it was at didnt have my best interests in mind.I was able to call JK @ Carstar and get a sanity check on the process, what kinds of things a shop should be doing, and what the insurance companys responsibility is. I had my car moved to JK and his team because I felt they had my best interests in mind.The shop is very clean and easily accessible. I will be recommending this shop to my social network for all future mechanical needs.

Very poor shop I tow cars there and they refuse the car after arrangements have been made they have ridiculous wait times and have even threatened to call the police in the past very bad shop and worse management I take wrecked cars to all kinds of body shops up and down the wasatch front and carstar layton is by far the worst

Everything started out fine. It was through an insurance claim because of an accident and they handled my car tow and all the paperwork just fine. The problems started when they tried giving me a finish date. They told me on a Monday my car would be done that friday. I call Friday to verify and it was in paint. K, guess Ill pick it up monday.. I pick it up on Monday and take it home and realize my side mirror has paint on it and it does not work. So I go back in and they said they were supposed to order one but didnt. So they order a new one and a couple days later I go back to get it put on. Finally I am done. A week or two later my alignment had gone out and I start hearing the banging noise in my front end again that they say they never heard. Keep in mind I had just bought this car 2 months prior brand new! They were really nice people and treated me great but it seemed they were constantly in la la land. I just want my car back in working order like before the accident.

Payed for a alignment but i still have the same problem and it took them two days. This place sucks.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE FOR FRONT END DAMAGE, they have no mechanical knowledge whatsoever. after 3 weeks and driving 9 hours to get my car only to discover endless unfixed things. allignmemt copletely messed up, huge crack in my windshield fluid container, unknown yet what is making a clicking sound, but now ill have to continue with this claim with another shop but now i have nearly no rental coverage left. i wouldnt recomend taking your car here unless youd like to continue trying to get it fixed for several weeks,or enjoy have your time wasted like you dont have a job or anything, like my time isnt as valuable as there. they show little to no remorse for the faulty at best work. this claim is probably going to cost me signifigantly more for having gone to this shop. a horrific experience is the understatement of the century
