The Allen family owns several lots for downtown parking, such as the lot across from the courthouse, and they have blocked them off so the courthouse and other businesses can no longer use them.These lots were leased to those businesses for their parking needs but following the denial of the Hub permits, the Allens raised rent prices by outrageous amounts (like 700%) so no one renewed their leases.The Allen family is bad for Lawrence. Do not support their business. They dont not care that the majority of Lawrence doesnt want Hub, they are throwing their weight around. The Allen family is bad for Lawrence.

If you choose to do business with Allen Press of Lawrence, KS, just know that guaranteed pricing has no guarantee at all. After receiving a letter of guaranteed magazine printing pricing for the next 12 months, 8-days later, I received another letter stating that Allen Press would not honor the pricing and that was backed by a phone call. Next an invoices arrived 3 months after completed job with pricing that was far higher than the original quote. VP of Sales, Martine Padilla at Allen Press admits in phone call that it will not honor guaranteed quotes for more than one job. Be very careful if you foolishly buy in to their low quotes. Not a trustworthy or honorable company find another magazine printer!
