Dishonest slide of hand. I set up a appointment and dropped my car off the night before left key in box. Micah called and asked whats my car doing there? I said I talked to you three days earlier and setup a appointment for a estimate. He said he didnt have time but would get to it by end of the week. I called back three days later to check if estimate was finished micah said they just started replacing parts. I asked what is a estimate for if you are just going to start working on it anyway? he had no answer. They put broken tie rod boots on when the tie rods came with new ones. I called he said hed charge me to put them on. I asked dont they go on with the tie rods?.. he said yeah but would have to wait 3 weeks before they have time to put them on. I wouldnt be taking it back for them to put them on. They dont make a zit on a real mechanics rear. Unprofessional. SCAM ARTISTS.

Ive had to take my car in twice recently and I was incredibly pleased with my service both times. They gave me updates and didnt make me feel like they were making things up I need fixed like some places do. Doug explained what he did and why he did it in a clear way that I understood, which I appreciated. Micah was so patient and helpful, even was trying to squeeze me in quickly because I drive a lot for work and need my car. Made the experience stress free and dare I say it, even enjoyable!

First time customer after a referral and glad I took daughter’s car there for a “cylinder miss” error code and subsequent tune up. Dropped it off at 1:00 and finished by closing time despite trouble finding a plug wire set and having to remove the intake in order to reach the back spark plugs. Great first visit! I’ll be back

They wouldnt put on a part I brought. Kept stressing they couldnt warranty it. I told them the place I bought it from already warranties it. Felt like they were trying to make me get more repairs than I wanted - to make me spend more money. Good thing I know better. Had to pay a $31 assessment fee that I didnt want. Not going back

Weve been using Dougs for about three years; they work on all our family cars. Timing belt & water pump, alignments, brakes, exhaust, radiator...theyve done something in almost every area and weve never been disappointed. A knowledgeable, honest mechanic seems to be a rarity these days, so its really nice to have found one. Doug, Micah and the crew are a pleasure to deal with.

Amazing customer service, Doug was able to sneak me in despite being a man down with a busy day already, and quickly fixed a SNAFU of my own creation which another shop in town couldnt/wouldnt deal with, at a VERY fair price and without trying to sell me parts I didnt need! These guys saved me about $1,000 and had the repair done in no time at all! One of the best experiences as a customer Ive had in any business for years. Doug’s Automotive did a great job on my granddaughters older Lexus. I had gone to visit her at KU and had her car towed to Doug (because of his great reviews), before I left. He put a starter in, changed the oil and did a safety check for us. My husband and I are 45 year car dealers in Florida with a mechanic on staff. What a blessing to have an auto repair shop that is honest and will go above and beyond. Took my car in with a bad alternator this morning. They worked it into their busy schedule, but the new part ordered was defective. Micah & Trent stayed after closing time to get the part reordered, installed and my vehicle back on the road for the weekend. Cant say enough about Doug & his crew. Great customer service guys!

Took three times the book time to do my alignment. I waited there for a collective of three hours over two days and they never even finished the job. Said it was too much of a headache even tho the first day was partially spent working on other cars while my job should have been getting done. I had to tell the tech how to actually make adjustments on my car because they were so confused. Would not recommend. Wasted two days and hours of my time and I still need an alignment. Also Doug can suck my gym socks.

I was in town to help my daughter deal with her own car issues. Late Friday afternoon my own car started having issues - dashboard warning lights coming on like a Christmas tree. Stopped by a couple of places that didnt have time or couldnt help. 4:30 on Friday I roll into Dougs. He was the epitome of customer service. He even helped facilitate the repair under warranty. I learned that hes been in Lawrence for many years. A stable source for reliable work. A definite step toward restoring my faith in people.

Steve K.Some twenty years ago i had a vehicle notorious for busted exhaust manifold bolts. I made the horrible mistake of taking it to Midas and they actually made the problem worse. I finally ate my $600 and took it to Dougs. There it was repaired properly, new studs inserted(not bolts jammed in holes) and for half the cost Midas charged to destroy it!!! Needless to say theyve seen our vehicles since, suggesting a brake job which subsequently saved the car and my life when a huge buck deer stepped out on the highway at four in the morning one week later. More than once theyve sent me on my way when something was minor with no charge. Have never felt taken for any of the dozens of repairs. This shop is the epitome of trustworthy automotive repair shops in my experience. And I might add, my mom went there too, a high recommendation, no?

Mike and Doug are the best personalities ever. I have been doing business with Doug even before Mike and Doug is knowledgeable and caring. Best place in town to have work on your car

Extremely friendly! Took my truck in with the reoccurring problem its had for years and they were able to find the underlying issue and got it fixed quickly - not just a bandaid fix.

This is by far the best automotive place I have ever been to. The maintenance fee for my car was quoted around $2000-$3000 at other two places. At Dougs they did it at around one fourth of that cost.Usually, they are quite busy so, you might have to wait a few days after making an appointment. So, plan ahead.

The only place Ill take my cars. These guys are honest, dependable, professional, reasonably priced, and FAST! Whats not to love?
