The tech that came and provided a HVAC maintenance check was amazing. Andrew A. was the tech who provided the service. He was thorough and professional! We called ARS with a push from our son who recently was hired. He knew we had multiple issues with our unit. We called and the next day Gary came out and diagnosed the issue very quickly. Gary was knowledgeable as well as professional. The next day John Dove and his trainee Alex came and gave us options which was a plus to us !We decided on a new Heating/AC unit.The professionalism we received was top notch !! The next day installers Jude & Tywone arrived on time and yet again professional. They took extra steps to keep our home clean when removing the old unit and through out the whole process. They both showed extreme knowledge and professionalism for their work. We also got the Nest thermostat which we love and again they both explained everything on how to work it.Overall we are very very pleased with the whole process !All THUMBS UP to ARS for the good quality of employees they have !!Thank you,Nate & Barbara Hurley

First off they did come thru in a timely manner on a very hot day when my AC unit went out. Did fix the problem but what I was charged is why I am writing this review. The tech that did the work called me on my cell when I was at work and my wife was home. I could not really understand him but stood firm on only wanting the problem at hand fixed. He recommended on the phone with me that I need my outside unit cleaned. I expressed again just get the unit fixed it is hot outside I will clean my unit myself. My wife was home I was at work so not sure what transpired after we hung up the call. When I get home I see the bill. $550 plus for the service which I understand. The beef is I was charged $540 to clean the unit and know that was a straight rip off. Come on? really $540 to spray a chemical on the unit which I stressed I will clean it myself just get my unit running. I am in the car business and when a person comes in for a break job the tech preforms the work and cleans off the brakes with brake cleaner as part of the service no up charge there. If that tech wanted to he could have done the same thing with my AC unit but wanted to up charge me to clean the unit which was not cleaned properly for the money I was charged. There is still debris in the bottom of my unit for the price I got charged I should be able to eat off the AC unit. I shouldve known better before allowing this tech to take advantage of the situation, he should go to jail for robbery on that fee to clean my AC. I guess the point I am trying to get across is the work preformed was good but be careful of what they charge to preform the work. Did not even have the courtesy to use Vaseline!

Predatory company. Avoid like the plague.My AC went out while I was at work and so I came home to a house in the low to mid 80s. I called ARS to come diagnose the problem.The receptionist was polite enough and informed me I would get a call some time in the evening when the technician was on his way.Later that evening I was called back and informed the technician was en route and they asked for everyone in the house to please wear masks while dealing with the technician, which is perfectly reasonable and I agreed. When the technician did show up however he was not wearing a mask which I found to be less than professional, he took every opportunity to suggest I should consider replacing my system, and then proceeded to tell me that my run capacitor was dead and needed to be replaced. A deed for which I would be charged more than $480 just for the part!After a very brief search on Google I found millions of tutorials and a replacement capacitor for less than $25 at my local Ace hardware.I ate the $120 service charge, bid the gentleman farewell and took a trip to Ace. After reading a couple tutorials; myself and a friend installed the capacitor and accomplished for $22 what ARS wanted to charge me in the neighborhood of $600 to perform.After talking with my wife about the situation we realized this was the same company that during the winter a couple years ago while I was out of town charged us over $250 for a pair of $10 fuses that were not even the correct size and burned out 10 minutes after the technician left, leaving my wife and 8 year old child without heat in 3 degree weather. She went to Home Depot the next day after a freezing night and bought the correct fuses and installed them herself for about $20.She then spent the next 3 weeks calling customer service to get a refund for the botched service, but only after posting a scathing 1 star review here did they finally get in touch with her and honor their satisfaction guarantee.So.. to put it mildly, my experience with this company has been horrendous. They prey on the ill informed and the vulnerable. The prices they charge for the simplest of parts is utterly unconscionable. The technicians we have dealt with are pushy, under trained, and seemingly far more concerned with selling new systems than fixing your existing ones.I will never call them again.

This company is less than impressive. The office is disorganized and worse they have to be pushed to honor their agreements. We are very flexible people but even we got frustrated w them. For the installation of our new HVAC system by ARS, we included a humidifier. The technician could not install the water line and left. The manager told us it was our problem, we reminded him of their unconditional satisfaction guarantee. It was fixed but only after we pushed them. Then the installation failed inspection. In our latest interactions for our spring maintenance, they rescheduled us. Then on the rescheduled appointment after waiting all afternoon, they called us to reschedule! After getting pushy (again) they sent someone. And our Spring maintenance was completed in July.

I hired ARS to replace my water heater.. Nate and GeAndre arrived punctually, after calling ahead with an ETA. They were courteous and wore booties on their feet, taking them off whenever they stepped back outside, and careful to keep the area where they worked as clean as when they found it. They took the time to explain what the problem was and how they were able to fix it. Working with ARS was pretty easy and straightforward, and they were very helpful.

I had to replace a part on a unit that was purchased from and installed by ARS that is less than five years old. The cost of the repair was expensive and seemingly higher than normal based on my research on cost of the part replaced and labor charges. The technician did not have the part available on his truck and had to go to local store to purchase. I was told that I had to be charged for this service because of the heavy demand on the work flow of the company on that date. However, for seemingly appeasement, I was told that the normal service fee for coming out would be reduced by 50%. This arrangement doesn’t seem to be fair to the customer and I only accepted it because I didn’t want to haggle and wanted my system repaired as quickly as possible. A similar transaction occurred with this company about a year ago. The technician seemed knowledgeable of his work and made the required repairs and my A/C unit has been operational. However, based on my recent experiences with the company, I am hesitant to recommend and not sure if I would hire for services for and future needs.

Every year they come out for seasonal inspection and find $300 to $400 worth of service needed. They installed it 7 years ago and Ive never gone a season without, freon recharge, surge protector sales pitch and on 2 separate occasions the techs wanted to replace the whole system. On the side of course. Until they found the system was under warranty then they found a simple fix and left. Had enough and moved on.

Ashley responded to several concerns I had, which turned out to be minor in the end, but she took the time to ensure that my questions were properly answered. After the system installation was complete, Ashley coordinated with the Prince Georges County Inspectors to ensure the system was properly installed and there would be no problems for me the customer. I called for emergency service on 7/5/2021. I was told a technician would be in touch to provide an ETA. I was not contacted. After a couple hours, I called again and was told the same thing. The 3rd time I called, I was told the ticket would be escalated, but I never received a call back from ARS or its technician. I am still without a functioning system. Im sure a part will need to be ordered, so a day wasted waiting.

Today was the day I had a replacement of my furnace and ac unit. I received a pre-arrival call and provided an estimated time of arrival. Gerardo Thomas and another technician arrive promptly, on time this morning. Mr.Thomas walked me through the services ARS would perform. He and the other gentleman were very professional, courteous and knowledgeable. I asked a few questions throughout the process and they welcomed the questions. My home was cleaned and returned to its original state., minus the old unit. Once completed, Mr. Thomas walked me back through all areas, explained how to maintain each unit, provided the manuals and provide me warranty information. I am pleased with the service and I appreciate the thoroughness provided by Mr. Thomas and the other gentleman, through the entire process. Arrived at 9:46am to do a heating job (after they had already diagnosed), didnt come with all the tools they needed, so had to leave and go to Home Depot. At 3:30pm still no heat and they didnt even bother to look at the other apartment they were supposed to look at. Simple said, we can come out next week with a bid to replace. And the customer service person, was overheard saying, well if the customer wants you to get these college girls heat, then get it to them. They didnt have parts, they knew the age of the system, never communicated how long parts would take to get to us and left residents without heat for several days. We will not be using them again.

The Tech that came to our home on 7/29/20.Was extremely professional. He introduced himself (which I have forgot his name, which to me means I had great service) had a mask on and came prepared to put on booties.He spent a little over an hour checking everything and showed me where the air filter was. When the unit was installed. The other gentleman forgot to show us. He also spent some time showing me how to work the thermostat. That was another thing that was not done when the unit was installed. This young man (for being in his 20’s) was professional all the way around. In this day and age. It gives me hope for our younger generation.I would definitely recommend ARS for service work.

I had this company come out and give me a so-called estimate on my ac unit. But, before they would come I really knew what was wrong with it. The unit was looked at prior by a family friend who worked for a company that was licensed to perform such duties.We knew that the Condense Fan Motor didnt work but we never thought to be charged such an outrages price of $1594. When I searched online for an estimated cost it was anywhere from $300 to $600. And, the average cost online was as low as $80 to $245. So, why would you want to charge a customer so much money for a service when the product doesnt cost that much and putting it on only about 2o to 30 minutes Companies need to stop OVER PRICING CUSTOMERS! Learn to give fair pricing. Thats why customer deal with side workers, meaning working with service providers that work behind their companies backs to service customers..

Had a maintenance appointment with a tech from ARS scheduled via Home Depot through a “special they promote”. Tech came, stayed for 15-20 min, told me everything was “fine”. Before he collected my payment and left I asked what he did & he stated “We check to make sure the system is running properly and that there is nothing hazardous that may be going on with it. 4 days later we had someone else to come look at the system due to the 85 degree temp in the house telling us the system was NOT “fine”. The other company let us know our system had a major Freon leak, the interior unit was completely frozen, and that we may need to replace our entire system. If the ARS tech had actually checked the Freon levels earlier in the week my family would not have to now suffer without AC in 84+ degree heat for several days until the other company can service it. I doubt the ARS tech actually checked anything. Waste of time and money. I wish I could get my money back!

We called for ARS 24/7 service as our AC broke during over 90 degree July heat with a baby in the house. They were the only ones who could get there on the same day on a holiday weekend to take a look at it and seemed really caring and concerned. Quoted us over 1400 to fix it and that it would take over a week to get that part, then pushed us towards buying a new system, sending someone else to sell us a unit the next day (admittedly our system is old). Got a second person to come give us a quote that second day and it was for $600- had the part in stock and was able to set up to have it fixed the very next day. Definitely left us with the impression this company was trying to take advantage of our concern over the heat and our baby and just wanted to up-sell us. Definitely do not recommend.

Nate and Kevin displayed professionalism and a wealth of knowledge of the installation of my heating and ac unit. They called me 1 hr prior to arriving and again 5 min before arriving so I could lock the dogs up. They wore there shoe covers and laid down drop cloths throughout my home as to where they would be working/walking. The both of them worked throughout the entire day without taking any breaks. They were both extremely impressive and down to earth, especially when it came to dealing with my daughters and dogs. They showed respect for my home & made sure everything was cleaned up afterI love my new system and it is working perfectly. Kudos to Nate and Kevin, they definitely showed PROS!

Overall, my was positive. When I was visited for check up service on my furnace, the young man told me that my thermostat was not working because my furnace was broken and the diagnostic would cost $89. I didnt have it, so I went about 4 weeks without heat.When the most recent repairman came, he looked at my thermostat first, like the first guy did, and asked me if I had a battery. After putting in the battery, he then looked at the furnace. While in the basement, he advised me of things I can do myself, and service I should take care of.Even with the discount and providing my own batteries, the service cost $145. Thats a lot for a battery replacement for seniors on a fixed income. I understand service charges of $89, but the rest for me to provide my own batteries was a bit much.I appreciate the kindness of both gentlemen, but the misdiagnosis made me wait for heat for weeks. I do plan to take the advice of the second service man and get the next preventive service from your company.

This guy came to my house two and a half hours late and only after I call the headquarters to find out whether or not he was still coming to the house as a result of my HVAC unit going dead when I return home from vacation. Amazingly he found that there was the fuses were blown out and wanted to charge $300 for the two that cost $8 each at the store. I have used ARS as a result of going through Home Depot and I believe this is the last time I will use this company.

Mr. Tim Whitley have excellent customer service skills.He was very detailed about the installation of his work. He also explained to me about installing a UV Air Purifier since the current Humidifier did not successfully work for me when my house was built. This was great information since, I have Asthma. Something, I will differently look into later on. Very professional with answering any other questions as needed, He also explained in detail on how to use the NEST Thermostat which is New to me. They also cleaned up and taped & wrapped the installation properly. During the hottest week both my air conditioner units went down. My downstairs unit never worked properly so we always relied on our upstairs unit. We knew we had to replace one but was not prepare to replace two. We called ARS, which we used in the past, and they sent out Todd Smith. He was on time and very knowledgeable of his job and my units.He was the first representative who took the time to educate me on my units and explain why they were not working properly. Best of all, he was able to fix my downstairs unit which saved us thousands of dollars. For the first time in 12 years my system works properly. My family and I are so grateful to him and the quality service her provided. If you read this post and call ARS for services please request this technician. You wouldnt be disappointed!

Outstanding from start to finish. Our home AC went down during the 07/19 heatwave. I got 3 estimates. My impression started strong when the estimator, Craig, donned booties before entering the house. He was friendly, fast and honest. Ive done contracting and remodeling and could tell he was telling me the truth. His estimate was a tad higher than the others, but he was spekking all Carrier equipment so the price seemed pretty fair. The two installers were nice guys, conscientious (w booties too) and knowledgeable. They added a number of small features (several emergency cut-offs, etc.) making their final product a value compared to the others. They cleaned up meticulously before they left. From what I understand, I am covered if I have any issues with the system. You cant really go wrong with this larger company that holds themselves to high standards to maintain a great reputation. On Saturday morning, 2/1/2020, my heat pump was not functioning. I called ARS and they sent out their best technician. He spent very little time diagnosing my system. He only looked at the air handler. He never looked at the unit outside. He diagnosed that the circuit board and transformer needed to be replaced with further testing to be completed AFTER that. The parts were under warranty by my systems manufacturer but labor was not. Labor would have been over $800, not including a $119 diagnostics fee. I argued that fee should be included towards the repairs. As a courtesy, they agreed.I was concerned about what costs would come after he replaced the 2 parts and was concerned the technician was not very thorough. I was told they would send out another senior technician for a second opinion. Later that day, they called me and said the first technician was their best and they would not send another technician.I contacted another HVAC professional. They diagnosed the issue as a short circuit due to a loose wire. My system is now functioning just fine with no parts replaced.I contacted ARS and told them what happened and that I no longer wished to do business with them. I asked to be refunded my entire fee due to the poor diagnostics of the technician. They refused and asked for an invoice from the 2nd company. I told them I felt I was being scammed and refused to provide them an invoice. The service manager quoted how well they are reviewed and after some heated words, hung up on me. They record all of your calls so they are welcome to listen to all of my calls and see I was not satisfied with their technician.Bottom line, they tried to create a service call with over $800 worth of labor to replace 2 parts that were fine and who knows what else they would have found and charged me. If something doesnt feel right with them, be sure to get a second opinion. I have contacted their corporate office to file a complaint and I will be disputing the charge with my credit card company. So far, they have not honored their 100% satisfaction or your money back guarantee.Update: Their corporate office stated they would call me back but never did so. They are fighting my credit card dispute. They only provided partial information to prove their charge is valid. I am providing my credit card company the invoice from the company that did fix the issue. The other company thoroughly diagnosed the issue and only a service call was charged.Do not believe their customer satisfaction guarantee.

My first contact with this company was over a month ago, and I am still trying to get one simple question answered from them. Three people have told me they’ll email me or call me the next day, only to never reach out. Very unprofessional in their customer service and isn’t capable of calling back on time if at all.

I was very upset with ARS after not getting a call from John D. Annie called to let me know my part would be in the next day and the tech will be there to install it. Annie is a very professional and made me feel that ARS takes care of their customers. When I told her I wanted to let someone know how great she is she replied taking care of you is all I need. ARS should be proud to know they have a employee like Annie..

My Technician Michael came within the allotted time, he wore his booties to protect my floor. I showed him the thermostat and then my unit, he began his work and explained everything when he was done. All went well, I have no complaints.

ARS Technician Michael Swope. was outstanding, 6 days before the July 4, my AC stop working and needed to new part which would take several days During that time the weather was scheduled to be 90+ degrees. Mike made sure my family had AC until the part arrived. He installed a temp part and the next 10 day our family was nice and cool. Dennis and Don made a great team! First, Dennis came out and gave me a written estimate. He answered all of my questions and gave me the names of neighbors who had used him for the installation of their hot water heaters. Although I have a contract with another company who came out to give me an estimate, Dennis was professional while the other company didnt even give me a written estimate.I had used ARS when I first moved into my new condo and switched because I was able to get a whole house contract with another company. After this experience, I know that I need to switch back. Dennis and Don did an excellent job and I will let all of my neighbors who are looking to replace their hot water heaters that ARS is the way to go if you want the best!
