My husband and I have been wanting a cat since both our cat and dog passed away within the last couple of years. He went on the website the day before Thanksgiving and filled out an application for a cat with beautiful green eyes. On black Friday he got an email from the cats foster mom. We met them on Saturday, and had her home by Sunday! The foster mom was super nice, and extremely helpful! We are SO happy to be fur baby parents again! I didnt even know about Hearts Alive. I had been looking on other websites and seeing a lot of feral, extremely shy, or sick cats, which made me uneasy about adopting. So Im really happy he found them and we have our new baby girl!
Save the animals ❤️ sweet and caring staff. We got our Mona Kitty there and she was in need of a lot of help before adoption. They were SOOOOO good too her and now she is happy and so loved with us. Im hoping we can get another one soon. Keep up the wonderful work ❤️🐱🐺
Welcoming staff, lots of Kittys to choose from. They have a couple stores in the strip mall . Can buy food, toys, harnesses. Very affordable prices as well on everything including adoption fees .
We adopted a beautiful kitten, its amazing what they do to help animals. Now we started fostering. Also you can buy anything you need for your pets in affordable prices, and dont forget give your donation.
Amazing organization and charity focusing on helping pets. Sheryl is a wonderful ambassador to this animal-focused foundation!
I love this rescue! Theyre so organized and really make fostering and adopting so easy. I love their cause and transparency.
Stopped to check on one of thier cats resembled my missing kitty and they are friendly and Amazingly caring people here, they take great care of the shelter animals.I will definitely make donations,I believe in them
This store helps support their animal rescue organization. They do a lot of good. Please support this store.
I love this place, they Really care for the safety and happiness the little ones over there. I adopted 2 kittens and one of the foster mom Brittany help me with everything I need to help my babies get used to their new home she spent her days off at my house help me and my kittens . Hearts alive Vilage thanks for saving my babies and Brittany James and baby girl and I love you.
We got our fur baby from Hearts Alive Shelter and we buy her food from the Hearts Alive Village store. We are thankful for both places.
This place is a hidden gem of Las Vegas. The volunteers are incredibly friendly, and they genuinely care about the animals. There are sweet, adoptable animals available for snuggles and a great selection of pet products. I took my kids and they were in heaven! Also, if youre lucky the assistant executive director with her service dog Wonka will be there. Wonka is a gentle, beautiful golden retriever who laps up attention from anyone who visits. I bought something from the thrift store simply because I wanted to support such a great charity! I cant wait to go back.
The woman working was a sweetheart, let us talk to her and when my mom started getting teary eyed about the loss of our cat she comforted us. The cats here are all lovable and deserve homes. The dogs were cute and the little rabbit was a surprise but fun to see too. A very nice small rescue pet shop.
Very caring, helpful and resourceful. Lucky to have been steered in their direction.
I have been a client of their pet food pantry and am so grateful for their service in this difficult time for us all. It is very easy to apply for assistance, you just go to their website and fill out the form whenever you needed dog/cat food and supplies such as cat litter. Their dedicated and compassionate volunteers might even throw some dog biscuits or cat treats in when they have them available. The pick up is usually on Sundays between 11am-12pm though you will be notified on date and time after you submitted the application online.Hearts Alive has other wonderful programs such as rescue, adoption, low cost pet supply/thrift store and now much anticipated veterinary clinic. I suggest every pet pawrent to take advantage of their very generous services, as well as support this amazing organization which we are so fortunate to have in our community.
I have volunteered here and Britney (who runs this place) has nothing but love for all these animals. The animal centers are always being looked after by her and volunteers. Always willing to help even when busy. Theres all kinds of goodies for your pet, they can help re-home your pet, aid you with vet care, and of course you can come by and see if your next pet is waiting for you. You can sign up to foster an animal also. So much goodness in one place is all I can say. :)
Theyre awesome. Very nice people and accommodating.
I got my baby boy Bugatti from these trifling people end December, completed his adoption in Jan. I broke my leg in March, saving him from getting hit by a car. He died on my couch this morning, after 2 weeks of fighting and dying in my arms. He had lymphoma, which the shelter knew and never notified me of. My baby is dead, and had no treatment for his cancer the entire time I had him; because I had no clue. DO NOT TRUST THESE PPL DO NOT ADOPT!
Hearts Alive Village is awesome! They are really there for you when you need them. I have 3 dogs 2 cats and with being out of work due to the shut down they made it a blessing to receive what I need for my fur babies. All the guys there are super sweet and fast with loading and meeting the needs of your fur babies. Julio makes it easy with texting you times for pick up. Thanks guys from me and my babies for all that you do 😊🐶🐱
The staff is amazing an everyone is very friendly. Without their help through this rough time I’m not sure how my dogs would have been able to stay with me. Thank you for all you do an keep up the great work!
Wonderful organization. I will only buy my supplies here. No tax and it help support the fur babies of our community.
Im surprised by some of these comments as Ive had nothing but good things to say about Hearts Alive and Christy! Ive been fostering senior hospice dogs for them for over four years and have always had great experiences working with them. My fosters are given great medical care, my texts and calls and concerns are always addressed! I plan on continuing to do senior hospice for them for years to come. I think people seem to forget that the people working for Hearts Alive are VOLUNTEERS theyre not PAID customer service people. Volunteers doing the best they can and oftentimes are dealing with the worst of the worst in the animal rescue world when it comes to neglect and abandonment.
Great place for saving animals, if you have a problem with the place why not help out and make better. Just dont complain go and help with the animals.
I would give it more stars if I could. I highly recommend to go here before you head to a big box store. Super friendly and great prices plus you will be helping out a local foundation.
I have surrender my kitty over there because I had to move to a different city and I was having some health problems. However, my plan changed and I didnt move anymore and my son wanted to see the kitty again, but now he got adopted. I asked the center if they can ask the person who adopted him to let us see the kitty again because we both miss him. The center is not returning my calls back, and when I got hold of one of them, they keep tell me they cant do nothing about it. They cant bother the person who adopted him. I feel like these people they dont have a hearth to understand that my son wants to see him. I even asked for a picture to know he is still alive, but they dont answer my emails or my calls.
This is one of the best rescue groups in the entire city of Las Vegas...
This is the most amazing wonderful adoption place ever. I cant recommend them enough. The ladies are a blessing. They have a true sense of what their kittens need and who to place them with. Recently my daughter moved into her 1st house and we went looking for a kitten to add to her family. We found Rin and fell in love. $100 is what it takes to adopt a kitten thats already spayed or neutered with all its shots. I let everyone know to go here instead of Craigslist. Its so much cheaper to pay this low price in the long run than to get a free or cheap kitten without shots whos not fixed. These ladys will help you find a perfect addition to your home. 🥰
Very dedicated staff of volunteers, so incredibly helpful & accommodating. Theyre doing truly great work with such a cherry disposition 😻
Our cats needed food and other kitty things and the women who work at Hearts Alive have blessed us graciously with their pet food pantry.-Opens early-Has Cat & Dog products along with smaller animal products for animals like bunnies!-Has cats for adoption-Has Volunteer program-COVID-Friendly(Wear Masks)Thank you for helping us feed our cats Samson and Salem. They will love you for it!!!
Awesome place, animal rescue is their business. If you need something ask.
Nice people, nice place not only an adoption center but a place to shop for your pets needs new and used items with very reasonable prices, even a pet food pantry.
I submitted multiple applications for different cats in foster care and when I submitted those applications I already had all the items ready for a cat. It’s been over 4 weeks and I still haven’t heard back from the foster care people. I called hearts alive village MULTIPLE times to ask them about the process to adopt and they said they don’t review adoption applications and that the foster care people review them and decide who to contact. Although I understand you wouldn’t want to overwhelm the foster care people it’s still unfair to those who are applicants who are waiting for a call or email in regards to the animal they submitted an application for. There’s no time frame and it seems very unorganized. If a foster parent doesn’t believe the animal is ready to be adopted then they shouldn’t be on the website up for adoption. Luckily I decided to continue to look else where and I found the perfect cat and she found me but it’s just such a shame that the foster care parents do not care about giving these cats a forever home. If you want to keep them or spend as much time as you want with them then maybe you shouldn’t be a foster parents. Just a though.
A wonderful place to shop discounted used/new pet items. Donate here first!
Amazing, place. They save so many lives.🐶🦊🐷
Absolutely fabulous organization! I worked with them when I had a family member (after the loss of a spouse with depression and cancer) that had accumulated over 80 cats. It was a very sad and horrifying situation, but Christy and Hearts Alive stepped up to the challenge to help us find homes for the many tame, feral and semi-feral cats and kittens. The location was a long distance (in a very rural part of Nevada) from Las Vegas, but they understood the gravity of the situation and agreed to help anyway. The organization took in many animals on their own to provide vet care and re home and helped reach out to other organizations for placement. They asked for nothing in return and met me at crazy hours to take in the animals. I will never forget what they did to help me and the cats. They are wonderful people who truly care for animals and the best outcome for them. I wish that I could do more to help them for all they did for me. Please support this organization and caring founder and staff!
Great place thanks to all that helps or doggie family
Seemed like they were trying to withhold info about how to adopt a pet. The guy literally was turning his back and walking away as I asked a question. Weird experience, won’t be going here in the future.
Fostering a darling dog thru Hearts Alive. Wonderful people & great place to shop for pet supplies & help their great work.
Very friendly staff. Went to get food for my cat and dogs and they were very fast. Thanks you guys are awesome.
Shared already. But wonderful. Be prepared to stay and visit with a possible adoptee pet. They need to ✔️ check U out as well.
Amazing facility and people sharing a sincere love & passion for helping animals live their best lives!
This place and these awesome individuals are God sent they really help the community. We have never needed assistance before and I was panicking and very upset wondering how I would feed my fur babies they were so wonderful helping with not only a giant bag of the food they eat but several treats for them that they love. Thank you so much you are truly Angels
My dog Shindy had really bad dental problems, so bad that I was losing her, so I called Hearts Alive for help. They sent me to Legacy Animal Hospital, who were awesome and fixed my Shindy up. But It would not have happened without the caring staff at Hearts Alive. They listened (which was hard cause I was crying), pointed me in the right direction (I followed instructions exactly), and got me to the right people. The outcome would have been totally different if not for the awesome people at Hearts Alive, Thank You Hearts Alive Village For saving my Shindy.
Julio and Amy are really great. They helped with food for my dogs in this trying time. All I had to do was fill out a form online on their website and they told me when I could come pick it up. Thank you Hearts Alive Village for helping me and my dogs!
I volunteer here regularly. Its a wonderful place with great people, and a lot to offer for dogs and cats.
I am very dissatisfied with the adoption process. I recommend updating your application to include all requirements. I could have saved a cats lifes today if you were more transparent.I looked forward to welcoming a new member into my family, only to be devastated!
I am overwhelmed by the courtesy, quality, and service of this outstanding organization. Me and my 3 kitties are truly grateful . They told me to tell you thank you and they literally could not live without you, especially during these troubled times. I Im limited to riding my bicycle over there to pick up the supplies but I was amazed when I was offered a ride home by Ricardo . Thanks to Julio and every one else there. Godspeed !🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾
They take very good care of your animals and they also supply cat food dog food cat litter and other products for free if you sign into their website.
Great place helping people and pets.
Well stocked with pet food and treats, if youre lucky, there may be some adoptable dogs and cats to love on.
Ihave been looking to help with fostering for months now and havent heard back from anyone. Please email me! You are overrun with cats and need the help. This is not fair to the cats. They need love and attention.
I tried to call and talk to someone in regards to dog i was interested in and no one answers the phone. The message just to contact thruh a web site.
I just wanted to add something to balance out some of the negative reviews Im seeing, and add something specific to the new veterinary clinic.I thought I might have an emergency with my cat, Ash, when he went off his feed and water and was acting completely out of character. So given my current financial juggling, I was trying to find a vet office that didnt charge an arm and a leg like the one I used to go to. The only caveat (and this is just more of a heads up) I would add is that if you need to have your pet seen right away and there are no appts available, they will charge the emergency fee of $65 rather than the $40. No biggie though once I calmed down. LOL Needless to say on top of the dogpile I was dealing with, tossing a sick cat on top of that made Mommy freak out. The staff here dealt with me very professionally. :-)The vet was awesome too. And the prices for out of pocket expenses were reasonable. The vet suggested a couple of action plans to fit within my budget once it was clear my Evil Minion wasnt as sick as I worried he might be. There are also payment options for those who need it, and assistance when all other options are exhausted. I may be moving from Vegas in a couple of months, but as long as Im still here, my cats have a new vet.
A “SPECIAL” thank you and appreciations to the MOST LOVIEST people.Ms. Amy, Ms. Crystal and Mr. Julio.Since the epidemic …life has been a little challenging and stressful. However, I came across Hearts Alive Village and was able to pick up FREE nourishment for my puppies. Everyone IS friendly, HELPFULL and simply doing the BEST that they can with what they have.Thank you so much again Hearts Alive Village TEAM YOU are all AWESOME!
Staff is really nice.
I give it 3 because our foster mom for our kitten was amazing. And the people at the front desk were great as well. But we had to bring our kitten to the clinic for her last booster which is fine but it was a mess inside. So many dogs barking and not trained well that we were forced to sit in our car with our kitten so she wouldn’t have a heart attack. It’s already hard bringing cats in cars so to not be able to sit in the lobby with her without having a ton of dogs yapping away and no one controlling them is extremely frustrating and disheartening. If cats are required to be in a carrier at all times then if there is a dog that can’t get it’s barking under control I think it is fair for them to be asked to either stay outside or stay in their car. I’m currently sitting in my car and I have seen countless amounts of cats and their owners come outside to sit in their car because of how loud it is in the clinic I just think that’s unacceptable. I just don’t think that it fair to other people and their animals.
The Pet Food Pantry at Hearts Alive is so generous and amazing. They helped us so much.
Adopted Charlotte from here and constantly go back here to get stuff for her! :-)
I cannot thank this organization enough for our two new babies. We lost our almost 20yr old cat in March and while we thought we would not want another one for a long time, our house felt too lonely. So in May we saw a cat on Petfinder and went down to meet her. Their cat room is awesome with the cats freely roaming. We did not bond with the cat we came to see, but we found another one who had been abandoned on their doorstep just a few days prior. Her name was Canolli, now Marnie. We fell in love with her and the volunteers here promptly helped us and we were approved. She needed to be spayed, so we had to wait a week to take her home. Hearts Alive didnt even think we were crazy when we came to visit her every day. We also ended up adopting another cat, Max we liked while visiting. Both cats are awesome and get along so well. The process was easy, and rightfully they vet you. Some people and their homes are not the right fit, so I appreciate they took the time with us and anyone else coming to adopt. You could not ask for nicer staff as I believe almost all of them are volunteers. Also please consider a slightly older cat instead of kittens as they have a bunch and they need homes too. I am so happy we did!
Awesome very caring people there. If youre looking for a pet or if youre looking to donate to worthy cause they are the people.
Sadly, I have to write this tragic review. My 8 year old and I decided we would get two white kittens for our home. We were connected with Lillian who was fostering the kittens and started to visit them weekly in March. We were told they would not be ready until late June but loved them so much we decided to wait. We have one current cat, a senior dog, and a few hamsters, which were all indicated in the initial application to adopt the kittens. We were asked to make weekly visits to Lillians around her schedule which was nice enough but going there was awful as she is incredibly rude, and very abrasive to my daughter. June 15th... We are coming up on when I was told the kittens would be ready and I am told multiple times she needs to do my home visit. I have welcomed her openly to my home since April, which is 5 minutes from hers but she has made alternate excuses more than 3 times. So I made time last night June 17th for her to come see the house. Prior to the visit I did get additional shots for my cat that she did not need and over $500 in new equipment for the kittens. She came inside and although my home is shoe free she insisted on wearing her dirty sandals through. She was extremely rude and abrasive again, although I have complied with every request. She then tormented my dog who is literally dying of kidney failure with 2 unneeded strokes from around the back of his head; trying to provoke him. His toothless nipping at her in defense required her to state that if the dog did that to the kittens we cannot have them.... it was then I realized she was looking for a stupid excuse to not give us the kittens.Today I took time off work to go to the house and do a dog greet. My dog was very nice to the kitten she brought and we again bonded with the kitten. She then put the kitten into the crate, told me that she has a lot to think about, that she does not like my lifestyle, she does not feel comfortable giving us the kittens and then leaves....leaves not just the kitten but two very broken hearts and a sobbing 8 year old. 3 months every week visiting and this crazy cat lady decided she did not like us personally. Very, very bad practice and absolutely not appropriate management of volunteers. Lillian is a mean, ugly-hearted, horrible person who likes to take out her pain on people so please be VERY CAREFUL. 3/4 kittens got their owners swapped by week 10. Do not invest time going to her home, she will find a reason to screw you over. Horrible person, no solution provided by the organization. Unruly, crazy, not normal person making decision so beware she is irrational: Lillian.
The Hearts Alive Program is Amazing, well worth the stop
Very kind people. Helped me through a tough time. :)
A great volunteer opportunity, wonderful community outreach with pantry for pets, AND a thrift store for pet supplies! Theyre nonprofit, so all proceeds from the thrift store go directly toward caring for the animals, which includes a partnership with a local animal hospital. If youre looking to adopt a cat, it just want to pet some kitties, this is your place.
Been eating here 20+ years
Great pet items and good place to find a furry friend.
Not impressed with the level of professionalism at all. I filled out an application to adopt a cat and was told I would have a phone interview the next day. They left me a voicemail saying I was denied because my cat i already have has FIV. Now, coming into the situation I knew that maybe I would be declined because of that, but i honestly was not sure if it is contagious/ a huge problem to have FIV negative cats live with positive ones. There were other people that told me it’d be fine actually. I spoke to Patti to clarify about the situation because I genuinely wanted to be informed about it. She spoke to me with the most rude attitude as if I gave my first cat FIV in the first place. I’m not upset that I was declined, I’m upset because this Patti person acted like I was the shitiest person to even ask if I could adopt. She acted as if I was a monster.
The staff was very off-putting when we entered and seemed confused as to why we were visiting their store, which made us feel less welcome. It seemed like they had expected us to instead call ahead of time and already know exactly why we were visiting, and instead we had walked in hoping to see some animals and look around as we hadnt visited before.
Hearts Alive was gracious enough to GIVE me a bag of cat food & litter for my old guy Thomas! God Bless you for helping out in the time of need!🐱🐈💖
Very unhelpful. Was in the store for 30 minutes and no one even asked if they could help. Two employees in the store and they seemed totally disinterested in anything that remotely resembled customer service. If this is the way they run a business, I would not recommend coming here.
ACTIONS IS WHAT COUNTS YOU CAN SIT THERE ALL DAY AND TALK AND TALK AND TALK BUT IF THERE IS NO ACTION AND REALLY SHOW THESE BEAUTIFUL BABIES LOVE THEN YOU WONT GET THE WHOLE EFFECT OF CARING AND WATCHING A BEAUTIFUL KITTY OR DOGGIE BECOMES HOPELESS. TO HOPEFUL YES !!! THATS WHEN HEARTS COME ALIVE
The staff is amazing. You can see what kind of a people they all are through how much they love and care for these animals. these people are amazing and so as all the animals they have. they try their best to accomodate everyone.definitely hats down to this place.
Conners doing well!
Great staff, PLEASE USE THEM FOR YOUR ADOPTION.
Recently adopted a cat. We had an amazing experience. They take great care of their cats! They were very responsive and we took home a awesome new member of the family. The foster dad (Jake) was the best and you can tell he loves cats. Could not be happier. Great organization and wonderful experience!!!
Heart warming pet store
Some of the people can be blunt or rude sometimes, but for the most part their volunteers and founders are passionate about rescue. I do a large amount of rescue myself, and they willingly helped us save many kittens and a couple of adults from a colony in our neighborhood. We are very grateful that they took them and got them safe and in loving homes. They really do care about their animals and do everything they can to save them and make them happy.
Loving, caring folks. My granddaughter volunteers here. Amazing how the pets r cared 4 and finding gd homes 4 them.
Love this place!
We reached out to Hearts Alive when we had a momma cat and her five kittens. Oh, and they all had ringworm...hearts Alive has helped is through the entire process and has been incredibly friendly. This is an amazing shelter and I would 100% trust and recommend
Great place to adopt a new pet! They are so friendly and are always accepting donations for iams wet cat food. They have a thrift store right next store and at another location. All the proceeds go to this pet store. Such a great place
I truly LOVE these folks, very caring and they take the time to help the pets and their parents...Everyone of the staff are volunteers and the facility is clean and organized with everything in its place! Truly the place to go and volunteer or spend your time and purchase items that helps the organization - These folks are so patient and sweet - I still go back to patronize because they are always there for everyone else!
Edit on 05/18/19: I retract my original one star review (see below)I was wrong and clearly misunderstand the situation. I mistook the woman I mentioned below as in charge. I did not consider other peoples situations.Thank you for responding to my original post. I am seeing the value of volunteerism. One of their cats lost a home today...What a disaster! Avoid the older lady with the short white hair at all costs. Both on the phone and in person. She cant keep her thoughts together long enough to answer questions.Went in to adopt a cat today and was treated like I was speaking a foreign language. It was disorganized and too loud to hear with no where to talk...a literal circusI had reviewed their site and called ahead for an appointment or at least information on how get the process started and the old lady told me to just come in.......see above
They do good work for so many animals that need help
Very nice staff and facilities. I first kittens for them and they always provide what I need. I love going to visit the animals too.
This is a wonderful place that rescues and fosters animals. You can visit with the cats in their comfortable cat room, play with the dogs, and shop there also. Consider visiting, adopting, fostering or giving a donation. Any help they receive is always appreciated.
These people are WONDERFUL!
If I could give zero stars i would. The place is dimly lit, dirty, staff are not friendly and not very knowledgable. I tried to call for several hours before heading there to rescue a pet and either no one answered, or it just hung up. The animals looked poorly taken care of, and any question that I asked was like a bother to the employees. Almost as if they dont care about placing pets at all.
This place is a joke! They are not looking out for the best intrest of the pet. I set up an interview to adopt a cat. I was scheduled for this morning. I received a text last night telling me not to come because I reside 1 1/2 hours away! This is just crazy. Pets fly all over the world and I am being rejected because of this! So apparently, if you dont live next door you cant adopt!
So I want in to Hearts Alive a few weeks ago and found my perfect new family member. I described he to my friends and family as my spirt animal. She immediately pawed at me and begged to be picked up. I loved her immediately. I was informed due to the upcoming Holidays that she wouldnt be ready for adoption for a few weeks due to her just being dropped off that morning. I wish thats where this story ended. After a week I called back to check on my baby to make sure all the paperwork was approved and Id be getting her whenever she was ready. The man whom answered was extremely rude and seemed too busy to be answering the phone. I told him my name and the name of my fur baby and asked if I could get an update. This man had no idea what animal I was even talking about. I explained again that she was a siamese I met whom was dropped off the day I came in. He proceeds to tell me Sidney had already been adopted to someone else a few days earlier. I told him this had to be a mistake since I was told I was the first to meet her and he said siamese get tons of applications. I asked him to look for my paperwork and maybe the can find my cat. He told me that wouldnt help, she isnt her. He then had the audacity to tell me if youre serious about adopting then come in Monday-Friday when Im here. That the people working on weekends are mostly volunteers who dont know what they are doing. I started to sob and told him that the situation ducked and he responded with yes it does I continued to cry and he hung up on meThen today 2 weeks after that devastating phone call and heartbreak I received a call from Brittany whom told me Sidney would be ready to come home in about a week as her spay would be taking place soon. I couldnt believe it when she told me this. I called back and told her what I had been told and she apologized. I also told her a few days before this call I had found another animal from the Animal Foundation that I had adopted.I told he I was so upset it took weeks to want to look for another baby again and that die to the rudeness and outright heartlessness of the man I spoke to I didnt want to go to Hearts Alive ahain. The man if he would have taken 5 minutes to find my paperwork would have seen that she was still there waiting for me and would have saved me so much heartache and so many tears over the holiday season. He clearly doesnt have the compassion or patience to help animals find their forever home. Now Sidney will be waiting even longer in her kennel to get another approval for a home.
They have always been good to me & my family, owner responds herself & does whatever she & her staff can to accommodate their customers...AKA those other do gooders that save pets from living shity lives.I LOVE LOVE LOVE my older dog...that is ALL Im going to adopt from now on!They are sooo simple to care for & less demanding. They look at you everyday with thankfulness in their eyes knowing they are going to have love till they dont go no more.
