My son loves it and has a lot of fun here. It is his first week and so far he’s enjoyed it and seems like they teach them well since I ask him at home to show me what he learned and he’s remembered every time. Price is fair, requires a 1 year contract which isn’t a problem due to the top notch service they provide.

Its a great place to train. Professor Hector wants people to learn the Art of Jiu-Jitsu without getting injured. If we stray from this goal he reminds us:Dont break your toy. Everyone here has jobs. No one needs to get hurt Were here to learn and have fun. We also get the highest level of instruction and a great atmosphere

I have always wanted to learn self defense and I was most interested in Jiu Jitsu. I was super nervous, so I really didnt what to expect or what I would be doing. I called the number and spoke with someone who immediately made me feel at ease. I scheduled my free class for the next day. When I walked in, I was greeted by everyone and the lady at the desk was really nice and explained everything that was going to take place. I did not have a GI, so she gave me one for the class. After I got dressed, I met Professor Hector and he did a short one on one with me to teach me some basic movements. I could tell right away that Professor Hector was very passionate about what he did and even though I messed up several times, he continued to coach me and be patient with me until I got it. After my one on one, I did the class and all of the students were very friendly and I immediately became friends with a few of the other girls. After class, I signed up and I knew that I made the right decision by trying a class here. I can not put into words how grateful I am to have found this place and to be learning this art from such an amazing Professor!

Very well maintained, Personal is always very professional and friendly. Professor is always involved with students, gives all his students equal attention. Highly recommended if you want to learn self defense for all ages. Not only can you learn self defense but also accomplish all of your fitness goals!

This place has the best kids program in Las Vegas. This is not day care for kids. They teach them structure and discipline. My kids have trained in three different gym here in Vegas. They have learned more in one day here than he did in a year at another place. Plenty of coaches to help each and every child. Everyone was very welcoming. I am happy I found this place for my boys.

The level of instruction at this academy is unparalleled. Professor Hector and his staff do a phenomenal job at keeping this place clean, safe and conducive to learning the art. At my first class session, I was formally greeted by everyone at the gym with a warm handshake. I was immediately partnered with a brown belt so that during the drills my partner could explain exactly what I was doing (how to apply pressure, obtain body position and proper technique). During rolls (sparring), Professor Hector and his staff ensured that the students were applying correct techniques that were effective, but to not cause the person to get injured. This was my biggest concern as I had gone to a different gym one month prior and walked away with several injuries. This is definitely not the case here. If you enjoy a classroom like setting where you can gain mad BJJ skills and a ton of friends... then this is the place for you.

Beginning something like jiu-jitsu can seem intimidating at first, but Professor Hector Vasquez and the rest of team Cobrinha made me feel at home and put my worries to rest. The coaches instruct with clarity and your teammates are there to help you. Jiu jitsu is great exercise physically and mentally. Your life will change for the better if you walk through these doors. Great family environment!!!! I had my kids training at another gym in town for 3 years. I felt like my children weren’t getting any better. I decided to make a change and try this place. I was amazed to see these kids. They run a structured class. All the coaches are very helpful and pay close attention to the kids. I am happy a found the is Academy for my family.

Amazing bjj school. Instructors are very knowledgeable and patient. The environment in this school is incredible and it makes you feel like youre training with friends. I decided to join this school in July 2019 after comparing different schools around town and I couldnt be more happy with my decision to join Cobrinha.

Amazing place to learn and train. I came here from London, United Kingdom for 4 days of training and everyone made me feel so welcome! My daughter was being bullied at school, so I knew right away that I wanted her to learn how to defend herself and be able to take herself when I am not there. I tried a few different schools, but none of them were as structured or kid-oriented as Cobrinha BJJ. Professor Hector and the other coaches are amazing with the kids and my daughters self-confidence has increased tremendously. She is no longer afraid to go school and she is evening getting better grades now. If I could give this gym a 10-star review, I would!

Joining Cobrinha as a family was the best decision we made. Professor Hector was the only professor in town willing to take the challenge and teach my 3 yr old Jiu Jitsu. Professor got my baby girl pulling guard in one week. Both my girls loves spending their free time at the gym. We spend all our free time at the gym it’s like our second home. Professor holds nothing back from any of the students And teaches the basics and high-level techniques to both the kids and the adults. The gym is a good Family environment. If you want to EVOLVE YOUR GAME to the next level, this is the best place to start. You will not be disappointed.

I brought my 3 years old son to try a free class. At first I was telling myself what can my 3 year old really learn at his age. Well, I was shocked to see him actually learn and listening to the coaches. The coaches are very patient and the staff is very helpful. I am happy I found this place and my son is already begging me to take him back!

I’ve been a student at other studios and they were unkept and not family oriented or personal. Now both of my boys (4&6) are students here and by far this studio is exactly what we were looking for. This studio is clean and you are welcomed by name at the front by staff and other parents. It is very family oriented and the main instructor, Hector, is the right amount of discipline and fun.Additional instructors welcome and accommodate all levels. My boys enjoy and look forward to their practice and I enjoy seeing their self esteem develop.

The moment I set foot on this gym I already felt comfortable and Hector welcomed my family and I with open arms. I truly believed that he is one of the reason why my girls fell in love with the sport because of his passion for it. He is very patient and accommodating to everyones needs along with the other coaches as well. Since my two grandchildren have been training under Hector Vasquez, I have seen their confidence steadily increase. They have formed lasting friendships and cannot wait to get to the gym to train. The BEST Jiu Jitsu academy in Las Vegas. I came here visiting from NY, I was welcomed with open arms. Hector Vasquez is an incredibly thorough instructor, experiencing his class and training with his students( he has multiple juvenile world champions who will be adult world champions very soon). Progressive Jiu Jitsu and modern Jiu Jitsu is taught at the academy. If you live in or near Vegas and are looking for a BJJ school, or if your visiting and looking to drop in. This is the place to go.

This is without a doubt the best gym in Las Vegas to learn BJJ. Having gone from gym to gym personally, none of them had stood out to me more than Cobrinha did.The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Plus, this is the only gym I have gone to that is incredibly beginner friendly. Other gyms do not cater to people just starting out and on top of that you get to learn from those who have won multiple world champ titles.Hector himself is present in classes to help show you how to improve your game along receiving help from other world champ athletes. The attention to detail they put into lessons is impeccable and has tremendously helped me improve my game.Im really glad I found this place and look forward to improving in BJJ.

I have taken my son to three different gyms to try a Class and this place by far has the best kids program i have seen.The coaches just dont teach them jiu jitsu but also how to focus and discipline. We signed our son up on March 1,2018. We take him about 4-5 times a week and he absolutely loves it. My son is/was a shy person and I noticed that he is much better already. Conrinha has changed him and gave him more conference and I see much more. I recommend this to family and friends.

We brought our daughter to Cobrinha from another BJJ academy here in Vegas because we kept hearing the whispers that the kids program was second to none...and were BLOWN AWAY. We signed up the same day. Hector Vasquez personally teaches the classes and is on the mat with the kids the entire class (along with at least 5 other instructors). The instruction and training is unmatched. Safety is always a top priority and every child is very closely monitored.It is very fitting that his slogan is “evolve your game” because that’s exactly what happens when you train here!! Our daughter has not only grown leaps and bounds technically, but her self confidence has skyrocketed!I think what makes all the difference is Professor Vasquez’s passion for what he does. He cares so deeply about every one of his students and truly wants the best for them.So glad we found this place!

Im from Brazil and I moved to Las Vegas to train jiu Jitsu. Since then, I have gotten so much better and it has been my best choice. Im very honored to be part of the Cobrinha family! The trainings are insane and it is the best team!!

My coach in Richmond VA knew Hector and said I should train with his team when I had to visit LV for work. Took a class this morning and couldnt have had a better experience! Hector was out of town, but one of his students who was teaching class welcomed me with open arms. It was a nogi class today but the instructor grabbed his gi to roll a round. No egos, just great training partners today, and I wish I had some more time to train again. I would encourage anyone who trains Jiu-jitsu out of town, to stop by and get some great coaching and rolling in! 100% recommended!

This is going to be a long review but there are just so many good things to say about this gym. My 10 yo daughter has been going to Cobrinha for a little over a year now. It started as way to get her off the couch, away from the TV and electronics. Its the best decision weve ever made. Since then, she has done 4 competitions and won 2 gold, 2 silver with the guidance and training of Professor Hector and her coaches.But its not all about winning or succeeding on the mats and competitions. Recently our daughter was struggling in school. Weve tried tutors, taking away toys, TV, tablets. Nothing worked, so one day on the way to training, my husband told her to say goodbye to her friends because it would be her last day. She cried all the way to the gym. It was then that I approached Professor Hector and asked him for help. He talked to my daughter, explained to her the importance of education, that school should always come first and going to jiu-jitsu was a bonus, a privilege. He and his wife Beth took it even a step further and implemented a weekly progress report for her to have her teacher sign daily. Its only been a few weeks but what a difference it has made. No more talking in class and no more missing assignments. I received positive feedback from her teacher and yesterday she was so excited to come home with her very first A+ in Math. Who knew that this was all the encouragement she needed.Professor Hector, Beth and all the coaches genuinely care about their students. They work and train you hard and give you the tools to succeed not only on the mats but in life. The gym is a great environment to be in and the kids are so supportive each other. Were so grateful for everything that they do. And yes, if you are looking to Evolve Ur Game, this is definitely the place to be.

Been here for over a year. If you are serious on your progression in jiu jitsu this is the place to be. The technique mixed with great training partners will give you the results you want. Prof Hector teaches you to where you understand right away and hitting the move of the day once you start rolling.

Hector and his students are a credit to the Bjj community. As a traveller from New Zealand I cant recommend the gym enough. Very high level students but extremely humble and helpful. My two sons and I started with Cobrinha in July (2017). Since the start, I’ve been impressed by the skill and caliber of the students and instructors. It’s unquestionably among the best I’ve seen. In the first few weeks I saw improvements in my sons’ and I, and we have been building on that regularly. My sons have competed in tournaments and have grown through those experiences, thanks to Cobrinha.Not only is it a great school to improve your BJJ it’s an academy with great families who are welcoming and kind. All of the the coaches/instructors are top notch and caring. For example, Coach Robert for the 7 am class is experienced and passionate. Coach Ryan in the kids class is always encouraging my sons and giving guidance on improvements. I am regularly impressed by Professor Hector (owner). He challenges the students to become the best version of ourselves both mentally and physically; he takes opportunities to challenge students to become better people in their everyday lives.If you’re goal is to learn a self defense, healthy living, improve your BJJ, or even compete in BJJ, Cobrinha Las Vegas is the academy for you.

Hector has a beautiful school in Summerlin. Hes a very knowledgeable black belt and is a great coach for both kids and adults. The facility has a large mat space, 2 lobbys and a shower in the mens locker room. When youre in Las Vegas make sure to check him out and take a class!

I am new to town and was looking for a BJJ gym to train at. Finding a gym is difficult because its kind of like your second home since you will be there a lot so its important to find one that fits your needs. When I walked into this place, I just felt relaxed and Hector and Helen were awesome and made me feel welcome. I was actually injured when I came in so I asked the guys there to roll light with me and they took good care of me. Having good training partners along with an awesome instructor goes a long way in developing your jiu jitsu. Not one time did I feel out of place or intimidated here which is important for people new to the sport. I dont have kids but their kids program looks amazing. Hector is awesome working with kids and you can see it for yourself when you come in. If you are considering trying jiu jitsu at ALL please try this place out, you wont regret it.
