I did the orientation over the phone. I paid the $500 deposit. Then they asked me to set up an Experian account. Pay for a credit check from all three bureauโs then give a complete stranger my username, password, PIN number, and secret question which I did. I quickly realized this could be a scam. What if they change my passwords and lock me out. Steal my identity then take out loans and have credit cards sent to them in my name. I hurry up and changed the access information to my account. I donโt know if I trust these people. I sure hope I can get my $500 back because they said itโs refundable. Ugh๐ฉ
Discount Party Store Developers are terrible. Dont waste your money going to Vegas for training. Everything with the store and inventory seems great till they leave. Then you find all the horrible mistakes. Buyer or investor beware, beware and beware. Just so everyone knows they compensate any store that gives them a good review or they get a referral from. They will leave you high and dry. After a year and a half open we are still finding mistakes they made. Good luck to anyone who deals with them your going to need it. They dont set you up for success, They set you up for failure
This people are very very dangerous, be careful if you get a call from them. Dont trust them and waste your money. They promise a lot of things and they rush you to the process. Once you start working with them they wont give you a break and you will not have a time to think again and again about whats going on. They will put you from one department to the other and within a few period of time they will take half of the payment and the other half in few days, then they will start playing their bad game.They do all of the first steps very very fast and once they took the payment they will start changing the build-out appointment. Once the build-out team came to your store, they will through all lots of junk and trash which worth only half of the described dollar amount on the agreement. You ask the invoice... the answer you get from the build-out team is that is not their job and they advice you to contact your trainer or the management. Thats your money, so you keep asking for the first few times they will answer your calls or reply to your email but after a few conversation they will start replacing management people and they keep asking you to explain them from the beginning. They will keep telling you that the other guy left the company and replace by another untruthful person. There is no way you get the invoices because thats how they steal your money. Be-careful, be-careful, be-careful
From looking for a site for my store to building it out to now two years later, DRSS has been a great partner. They are truly vested in helping you set up and start your business without the franchise fees and headaches of learning everything on your own. The staff is friendly, professional, and knowledgeable and always willing to offer advice and help, even now. Ive been open since Nov 2013 and DRSS really helped me through the process of finding a location, financing, my leasing contract, merchandising, ordering and building/setting up my store and many other things. Unlike owning a franchise, I felt I had a say in every step of the process and at any point IF I wanted to I couldve stopped and said No to anything I didnt like/agree with. Some owners might not like having a merchandise package pre-set for their 1st order/opening but its truly the best way. No one knows based on your location what is gonna be hot or not. Just because its hot in many other locations it might not be the hot item for your store. So after the initial opening, you have 100% freedom to re order an item or choose something different based on customer feedback. This isnt a franchise, do what you want. There is no sure thing in anything you do. Ive learned for my particular store to have a small amount of an item but have lots of variety and it has been great for me. Some vendors might not be so flexible with having smaller case sizes for what you want and weve learned that there are SO many choices/other vendors to order from out there that we typically end up much happier than getting stuck with lots of something that didnt end up selling. DRSS is very helpful anytime I need to call and ask for advice with a product or vendor or a display or anything at all. Remember its advice, its not a franchise, do what you want. Some things work out great, others dont. You really just have to keep talking to your customers and find out what is popular for your location. I also HIGHLY recommend attending trade shows like toyfest and ASD here in Las Vegas (they are here twice a year). This gives you a chance to meet with current and new vendors, touch and play with new merchandise that might interest you and you can do this on your own or a representative of DRSS can spend time with you to help you as well, its totally your choice. All I can end with is what you get out of your business depends on the effort you put into it. It doesnt run itself.
