There is a lot that I can say about this establishment & my rating as well as pics can speak for themselves. I attempted to make an appointment through Booksy & once I hit confirm it said that the appointment was no longer available so I contacted the shop & was transferred to Mike who gladly made me his last appointment with no problem & I don’t think that I could’ve been happier leaving this shop. Yes I was feeling myself lol! I’ve finally found a home for my hair where I can let him have his way & be completely happy with the outcome. Thank you again for accommodating me & sending me off with confidence!!

I normally wouldnt leave a review like this, but because my time was wasted, I thought it would be good for the owners to see this...I called ahead to get a haircut and asked if they were busy. The person said come on in and someone will take care of you. I said coo, on my way. Im from out of town and looked this place up because it looked liked it had a good rep. I show up 25 min later, PAID for parking, walk up and both doors were locked! There was one guy in the shop that waved at me saying they were closed, then he came to the door and told me they were closing for an inspection. I said, I literally just called before I came here... And his response was, sorry bro.The moral of the story is this... if a customer calls ahead, you tell them to come in and someone will take care of you I expect to be taken care of.If youre anticipating an inspection, let the customer know before they come to your shop so they dont waste a trip. Went to another location and they promptly took care of me, no problems.Thats how it should be.

It was convenient being right downtown. I had a lady barber which was appreciated. KD took her time and gave me a spa experience. Customer service was on point as well. The cut was $40. A little high but worth it for the convenience.

Nowhere on his website does it suggest you should make an appointment. No where on his website does it say we stop accepting cuts after 5:30. The manager of this establishment was rude when all I asked him to do was put these details on his website. If you are from out of town something you should know! Guy cut my hair alright, but he left a small section at the front a little longer than I would have liked, looked great after styling though. It was probably my fault for not mentioning it sooner (I kinda like to get up and go, dont really like styling my hair too much) but who cares. Haircut was still good, great fade too. Let barber know exactly what you want or theyll have to retrace their steps, which is time wasted on their end.

I walk in for the 3rd time before 8 am on a Saturday and Im 0/3 trying to get a cut here, I guess I offended the barbers for even thinking I could walk in and get a cut, there was no attempt to assist me all I wanted was a bald fade, they are making so much money they dont need new customers here. To make it worse its a black owned business so its extra disappointing when your people let you down

I made an appointment with Curtis for a Womens Cut. When I arrived, I was greeted by a friendly few barbers. Let me tell you, this shop is wonderful! Im not thier typical clientele. I am a long haired caucasian woman from Minnesota. It appeared most of their clients were african american men. I was treated no differently than anyone else. Curtis took his time to listen to what I wanted (even out layers and cut off the frizzy ends) and gave me the best cut Ive had in years. I highly reccomend this shop, especially Curtis. Dont let the Barbershop label deter you. Amazing prices for the service. Make an appointment though. They were busy. They did take walk-ins, but they had to wait 20 to 30 min. I just cant say enough about Curtis and the people that work at A Cut Above the Rest!!

Very Positive experience here - Needed a quick trim arriving into town for a business trip. Walked in and had a short wait. Hair was cut by Mike Jones - Mike is very friendly, charismatic and the quality of his barber skills is exceptional. Getting a great haircut is an excellent way to start a trip to Vegas.

The barbers are Vegas legends - Mike, Timo, Curt and young Troy cut like no others.

Gave me more attention than any Barber Ive been to in years. On level with my momma! Clean cut and I was ready for the strip!

For the cleanest cut in Vegas make sure you sit in Dollas chair. Impeccable service, immaculate line and flawless fade. I wish I could go into further detail but this is an experience, one you cant just merely put into words. You clearly need a cut, go get upgraded.

Walked in and was greeted right away! I got cut up by angel (I believe thats his name, sorry if its not) the Hispanic one and he did an amazing job!! I usually dont like looking at myself in the mirror but my confidence shot through the roof after my haircut. I greatly appreciate his work and the whole store. First, it was open Early! I called to be sure everything was on the up and up. The pleasant worker showed urgency in voice, so got ready faster. Parking out front was easy, and the music was just what I needed to relax before an ALL Day interview. I only had my card, but I walked in and there was an ATM. Thank Jesus for the communication of who is next and the hospitality! There are extra products to buy and TV to entertain (aside from the conversation of course). The work is stylish and the pacing is quick. I will return again even without a morning appointment. :) #imjstsayin

This one of the best barbershops in Las Vegas. It is far away from where we live but my husband will not go any place else. The barbers are friendly and treat everybody like family. The prices are reasonable. Tim-O is a master stylist who gives everybody in his chair special treatment. My husband always comes home handsome with a nice fade and a smooth shave. Sure its loud and a little rowdy, but thats what men like. Ol school.

Curtis just gave me the best haircut I’ve had in 20 years. He was astoundingly meticulous and thorough, and wasn’t satisfied until he achieved perfection. My straight hair is especially difficult to cut evenly and short. If I lived in Las Vegas, I would only have Curtis cut my hair.

I was staying downtown in Vegas and didnt have chance to shave my head before my flight to the US, so I found the closest barber to my hotel (Downtown Grand) - this place.I had a great experience here; really, really nice people, and a great haircut. I mean, I had my head shaved with clippers which sounds simple, but you wouldnt believe how many times I have got home and found missed patches or just shoddy work. Not with these guys - Lampkin gave a great haircut. Good people, good service, definitely recommended.

This place is not a professional environment. The music they played was so vulgar and foul. They played it in the presence of children. Music talking about sex, n word, etc. Secondly the haircut was average for the price. I paid $25 for a taper! Didnt use a razor to sharpen the line up. She didnt touch my mustache, beard, and she cut off my sideburns. My wife is not a licensed barber and she gives me a haircut that just as good. The conversations were personal and unprofessional in nature. Many conversations about cheating on significant others. Suggestions to make the place better: play radio edit versions of music, change the conversation, and lower the prices.

These guys are awesome. Great cut, great shave. They could do a reality show here just recording the banter going on. Hilarious, intelligent, and changing topics at the speed of light.

Okay first of all, I usually go to some other barbershop... but I wanted to try a diff barbershop. I called and set up an appointment at 2PM a couple of days ago and calmly came in. I sat down and as I was explaining her how I wanted my hair, she looked at me as if she has never cut hair (tracy). The moment she placed those clippers on my hair, I knew that I had made a mistake of going there! The result wasnt as bad as I thought, but I can guarantee that she knew that the haircut she had given me WAS NOT WORTH $25. I couldve easily gone to a cheap salon and get the same outcome. I was so disappointed that I just wanted to walk out and not even argue... I definitely did not want her TRYING to fix it. I had to go home and fix it myself, which took me an hour... I have never typed a review in my life, but I really thought I had to this time. Thanks. Save yourself some money

I have been getting my hair cut from these pros since I was a kid. Theres no reason to go anywhere else. The environment is very welcoming and the conversation is real. I see many reviews complaining about the conversing content which is just grown people talking. If you cant handle real, it is not the place for you. Id recommend this ship to anyone of every cookie.

Needed a trim while on vacation. I googled barbershop and was directed to A Cut Above. Walking distance from Fremont St. I received a great hair cut and even better conversation. Ill be back in the fall and look forward to another trim and chat with Tim. Highly recommended.

While I was on vacation, I was looking for a place to get a haircut. This place was down the street from where we were staying and had great reviews, so I tried it. Best place hands down! Curtis hooked it up, o walked out feeling and looking good. These guys are no joke, friendly, talkative, and professional.

I have been bald by choice for the last 20 years. This year I decided to let my hair grow out again. As soon as I came into A cut above the rest, I realized so many of the things you miss by not going to a barber on a regular basis. Tim O hooked me with what I like to call an executive experience, Straight Razor shave, mustache grooming and introduced me to the current styles that are out there today. This is what a barbershop experience should be. I always tell people that Ice Cube had to locate those movies in Chicago because that is the unique Chicago Barbershop perspective. I stand corrected, A Cut Above the Rest, absolutely provides a true experience with great service! Ill be there every 2 weeks like clockwork!
