Dr Hunter and Nurse Morgan were truly wonderful with me & Peanut, she spoke “English” and explained the process with risks and benefits, all before knowing that I am an ER RN at the local Trauma Center who understands medical talk. She had all my questions answered prior to me asking them and presented with a peaceful confident vibe. I appreciated that the most. The surgery went well, Peanut is healing wonderfully… better than I expected. He is a mini English Bulldog that needed to breath better so his nares were opened up and some of his soft palate was cut back. Post surgery day 3 he acts like nothing has happened however this Mom is still following post surgical instructions. We’ll be back for the 2 week follow up soon and will have a nice TY surprise for Dr Hunter and Morgan❤️

I’m so genuinely sad about this place. I didn’t even get to the point of getting a consult. The secretary was so rude. So impatient. I just wanted to tell her, I’m sorry lady, I have a sick dog, and I have a few questions….I’m sorry that it annoys you. It’s the only place to take my pup in vegas for cancer treatment, and now I don’t know what to do. You rarely meet rude people who also care for pets, but this place…I guess there’s a first timer for everything. :(

Dr. Fitz and her team were amazing. Everyone, including the team upfront, were friendly and professional. We drove nearly four hours for our appointment and they were understanding of our situation. They took the time to make sure I understood everything, answering all of my questions with care and compassion. If you are in need of a neurologist for your fur baby, I highly recommend!

I don’t know why the other review said they don’t answer the phone, they always do they just might put you on a quick hold. I had to bring my dog in for a displaced disk in her neck, at first I was concerned because my appointment wasn’t gonna be for 6 weeks as that was the soonest they could get me in but I was on a cancellation list and got in after a week or so of my first call. The neurologist was great and got her in for surgery the following day after her appointment. She’s doing very well and is recovering quickly. I’m very happy with my experience and I think people tend to blame vets for things they aren’t even at fault for/lie to make themselves seem better.

If your pet needs ACL surgery, ask for Dr Rexing! He did a fantastic double knee surgery on our 12 year old dog and 8 weeks later, he is back to his old self. He couldnt even use his back legs sometimes prior to the surgery. We couldnt be happier since the surgery. Also, Kelly Straub was a great physical therapist! Our Tommy loved her. She did water treadmill, laser therapy, massages and more. We also got custom exercises to do with our dog at home. Kelly is a very pleasant, skilled therapist who really cares for the animals.

Its typically never fun having to visit a center like this with a pup or pet that needs surgery, however Dr. Mason and his staff were extremely professional and exercised much appreciated bedside manner when discussing our options for surgery. He took additional time to fully educate us on the procedures we elected to take and gave us an honest and objective perspective so that we could make the appropriate decision for our pup.Thank you Dr. Mason, Morgan, and to all of the center staff for the responsive communication as we get out pup back up and walking again. She is doing great and we are very appreciative of the high quality service you all have provided.

AVOID THIS HOSPITAL AT ALL COSTS, THEY CONTRIBUTED TO OUR BELOVED DOGS DEATH!We brought our Malti-Poo, Annie to the hospital based on the recommendation of the emergency vet hospital in St. George. Annie was have difficulty breathing. When we arrived we had to stay in our car in 110 degree weather while they evaluated Annie. The only feedback we received while we waiting was an estimate of the $3000 bill for Annies care. We were not allowed to speak with the doctor, only the technician. Annie was hospitalized in emergency and then taken to internal medicine the next day. We spoke with the doctor who did not give us a diagnosis, only guesses as to what was happening with Annie. We were told she was stable and we could pick her up. She had been there 2 nights. We were given some antibiotics and told to bring her back in a week for further xrays . Still no diagnosis. Within 12 hours Annie was in desperate need of assistance and we brought her to our normal vet. Annie ended up in the vet hospital every day thereafter. We very unfortunately had to euthanize Annie on Friday, less than a week after this vet hospital said she was stable. The worst vet hospital we have ever had to deal with.

If you bring your animal here make sure you get a blood test first. Our cat came in for surgery, was not given a blood test prior. Turns out he had kidney disease the surgery ended up making the situation speed up and today we had to put him down. I didn’t know before today that blood tests are typically done before surgeries nor was I asked/ told that he should get one by this hospital. His negative symptoms began immediately after surgery and when I brought them up I was told this was normal. Apparently not. Granted his fate would have been the same in the end there’s the possibility we could’ve caught it soon enough and avoided surgery so that our 2 year old cat would have been able to spend more times with us without suffering or indefinitely if it wasn’t chronic.I also suggest that the vets when speaking to clients who have 2 people in the car, make an actual attempt to make eye contact with/speak to both people. I was quite offended by this and felt invisible while clearly sitting right there. Our pets are our children and it’s quite rude to basically ignore one of the parents and focus your attention on the other... especially when it comes to huge things like surgery that have a huge effect on everyone involvedHis actual surgical scar healed fine and they took care of his surgery straight away, however, I’m disappointed in the lack of something that could have ultimately helped my cat and not caused him to suffer. I will not be returning here ever .

I took my French bulldog to have facial surgery. Post operatively, my dog was vomiting for days and needed to be readmitted to their intensive care side. The surgeon Dr. Hunter didnt even call or go see my dog in the intensive care side (they share the facility) After several thousand dollars of additional tests they couldnt tell me why my dog who had facial surgery (to help him breath) had now developed vomiting. To this day he is not the same dog. He vomits evey time he eats multiple times and is now on a special diet. And the kicker his breathing is still horrible. In fact it is so bad when any vet examines him they recommend he have surgery to which I reply he already has had surgery. I would tell anyone who loves their pet to stay away from this place. They overcharge, overtest, and provide horrible care and followup. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere!

Halle broke her first front leg in April. My Vet splinted it and sent her x-rays to LVVSC. Halle saw Dr Sanders. She said chances of it healing were slim to none. I got it to heal by carrying her for 10 weeks. She broke her other front leg on 4th of July a Vet set the bones and casted her leg. I took her to Dr Sanders 2 weeks after the break. She took the fiberglass cast off and spoon splinted it and said that there was already micro healing taking place. At the 4-week appt on 8/4 they x-rayed & said there was progressive healing taking place. They changed the bandage and Halle seemed uncomfortable during that 2 weeks. It was wrapped pretty tight up near her shoulder so I thought that was why she was uncomfortable. About 5 days before her next appt. I cut the top of the wrap to give her some relief from the pressure that I thought was causing her pain. She still seemed uncomfortable. When I brought her in on 8/17 it had been 6 weeks since the break, I told them that maybe she had been uncomfortable since the bandage change. They x-rayed and said the break was almost fully healed, but that she did have a pretty bad wound on her paw. They said they cleaned it as good as they could and gave me antibiotics. They wanted to see her in one week because of the wound. I called a few days earlier because she had an awful smell coming from it. On 8/23 Dr Sanders unwrapped it and was cleaning the wound when her dead toe fell off. She came out and told me that, these things happen, that at least it wasnt a weight-bearing toe and her hair would grow and cover it. I assumed it was from the wound and the infection. When they first discovered the wound on 8/17 they should have looked at the x-ray they had just taken. Especially since toes fall off all the time according to Dr Sanders, she said one dog lost all its toes. They would have been able to see the reason for the wound was her pinky toe bone being broken with circulation being cut off and it was dead.I didnt give her food or water anytime before I took her there just in case they need to sedate her. So when they cleaned it at that appt they could have sedated or anesthetized her and done what needed to be done so that her dead toe could be amputated and stitched up at that time. Then it would be healed at this point. Looking at the x-rays its very clear that her pinky toe was lost due to the bandage change at the appt on 8/4. On 9/1 a week after her appointment on 8/23 she went to a local Vet, he unwrapped her leg from the soft bandage and gave more antibiotics for the wound which was still infected, red and swollen, the bone wasnt visible at this time.Halle has also seen another local Vet and when I told him what had happened with Halle breaking the second leg and now losing a toe he wanted to see her. I took her in to see him on 9/3. He said that what was sticking out in the middle of her wound was bone and that the wound was not going to heal. The bone stuck out more and more as the wound tried to heal. Within a week it stuck out 1/4 inch.I was advised to start with Dr Sanders, she credited my card on file $215, I told her that I was not impressed by this. I then went to her boss Dr Mason to resolve things. I got blame, excuses and deflection from him. He stated that this would not have happened if I would have opted for surgery. He said I was treated fair and $215 was enough for what happened. They want you to pay for expensive surgery even though tiny breeds have the plates wear through the skin a lot of the time and then they have to have more surgeries. Money in their pockets is all they care about. Halle had so much pressure applied to her pinky toe that it dislocated at the joints, died and rotted off. I have devoted my year to getting 2 broken legs to heal. Now I have also had to incur more cost, time, care and energy into rehabbing her through losing a toe and getting back walking without it. I did exactly what they would do for a human with broken bones. They were clean breaks and did not need surgery to heal. Avoid them if you can, they are all about the MONEY!

She was in so much pain after taking him to six different veterinarians I finally had the money to go ahead and get an MRI and this is what the diagnosis was so I had to put him down due to the pain in the quality of life that he was facing. After he was put down I opted for cremation I am waiting for his cremains to come back to the Specialty Center they will call me to receive my dogs ashes. I was told today from someone that I truly will not get the actual remains of my dog ask w i f t y. After hearing what the processes I have been mortified ever since. I am asking if anyone out there knows if what I was told is the truth. And if it is the truth why didnt the Specialty Center tell me this. I paid to have them cremated not to receive other dogs ashes! If this is the case shame on you for shame on them they should have told me. I was told that they do not cremate the dog separately that there are a few dogs at one time that get cremated and that the ashes that I received back or not my dogs they are combination of other peoples dogs. I would like a reply ASAP from the Specialty Center! To confirm or deny that this is true. My name is Eliza l u e r a s. We took our Sophie girl here after her having 11 grand mal seizures and was so pleased with the way they were with her and us. We took a last minute cancellation appointment and didn’t even think to ask how much it would cost, and quite honestly it was comparable to a vet visit. The Dr explained everything to us after they looked at her and did some basic testing and not once did they pressure us to do anything. Not just that but they advised us to wait on the more expensive testing since the seizures were being controlled by meds and see how she was doing before moving forward. They could have said she needed the $3500-4000 testing and I would not have known better and figured out how to pay for it but they didn’t. They gave us a lot of information and encouraged us to wait before jumping to that unless we really wanted to do the test now. I’m very grateful for their help and follow up on our girl after we left.

Bonita came out and took George my English Mastiff inside. Dr Weinstein called me and explained whats going with George and how the course of treatment was going to go. Very friendly and easy to talk to.I cant understand all the bad reviews this establishment gets.I was told the cost of the exam prior to visit and everything was as promised.Medicine was additional unknown cost but that how things go. They cant quote medicine costs without what it is you need right?I was aware of the bad reviews on here and am pleased I decided to ignore them and just find out for myself. All telephone calls were always professional and polite.Thank you Bonita for all the help and I look forward to seeing you again for Georges follow up appointment.

WARNING: DO NOT TRUST THESE VETS WITH YOUR LOVED ONES.We had to travel 2 hours to get there from so. Utah for a rear femur break. They tell us 2300-2800 dollars to repair. We took a deep breath but say to ourselves we need to get it done so we left her and she had the (not) repair surgery done and we picked her up in two days. She never used her leg again. Never even trid to put weight on it.7 weeks later back down two hours to find out why she was not using it and Dr. Geels said he thinks the rod inserted in the bone was affecting the sciatica nerve and he recommended removal of it. So another needless surgery because that was not the problem, we found out in a week when she still wouldnt put weight on it. AFTER that 2nd surgery Geels tells us he didnt appreciate the swelling around her knee before but tells us she might have a tore acl ligament. He was 99.9% sure of it. WHY was that not seen prior to and after both operations. He wanted 2200.00 to fix that. I left and took her 6 hours north to SLC to a specialist and he said negative on the acl but was not happy with how the break was healing.Time goes by and we hope she would start using the leg but she wouldnt and was in obvious pain so back to lvvsc and an xray showed the repair totaly failed, the bone at the break was gone, the screw holes had elongated and the plates holding the top of the femur to the bottom was the only thing there. At that point and even before I knew that we probly would be amputating it because of the muscle loss, BUT before we proceeded to another surgery for amputation, that SOB Geels tried to sell me on bone marrow transplant to see if the bone would regrow. I wanted to hit that guy in the face!Another round trip home and back to get her and we have a three legged pitbull. She did fine on it right away and no problem because the broken one was in the way and slowing her down. They do great on three especially since it was a rear amputation. Thankfully. My thing is that I know this guy was just trying to get our money and my baby was his frankenstein. This place is all about the allmigjty dollar. PLEASE WATCH OUT FOR THEM.

I’ve used the services of LVVSC’s oncology department multiple times over the last 8 years. Dr. Burr and Dr. Byrne with support from Dr. Vidal and Dr. Vaughan were absolutely wonderful in navigating my cat Malorie’s recent diagnosis of lymphoma. They were always honest with what my options were and never tried to upsell me on the more expensive treatments even if those treatments had a higher success rate. I’m a disabled veteran with limited income and they really seem to keep in mind the whole picture of the pet’s care, including the financial means of the pet’s family. The entire oncology staff was always so kindhearted and compassionate throughout the entire process and they are truly outstanding. The same can be said for the front office staff.LVVSC’s Critical Care emergency doctors, Dr. Sherer and Dr. Fauth, were also a vital part of the most recent services I needed and they, too, were very kind and were also very clear about what my treatment options were. All the doctors I’ve ever interacted with at LVVSC over the years have been incredibly compassionate, with Dr. Burr helping me put to sleep both of the kitties I’ve lost to cancer in the most caring way. My cat was suffocating so I rushed her to the ER up the street and they performed the SAME PROCEDURE. When I asked them if they needed any special tools or if anything about the procedure was special they said no. It was just a routine procedure. The fees at the ER are about the same except theres a $150 emergency fee. But thats better than paying the other vet for her to have done nothing. This place was a complete waste of time and money. Absolutely horrific experience, the Oncologist talked down to us and pushed the Chemo non stop even after we told her no one in our babys care group was comfortable with Chemo. Well fast forward to now, my husband and I brought our baby to Texas with us, and we have a vet here we are working with to get our babys therapy that we want done. I also recently spoke with a Holistic Veterinarian in Nashville, sent them the Oncology records from this horrid place, and he said he does not understand why that vet wanted our dog on Palladia, it is an off the wall treatment for her specific cancer and he attached the Purdue University articles showing what their successes have been and Paladia was not on there, then he mentioned it is an extremely expensive treatment compared to his protocol. Well there it is, we spent 2000 dollars at this place, she aas diagnosed with terminal Bladder cancer, seeing as our vet is on vacation and her appt is is in 3 days, our baby only has one Piroxicam left, this place will not renew her prescription until we do bloodwork there, guess what, one more weeks worth of so to get her to her appt here in Texas would not harm her, they claim it is about Piroxicam being hard on her Kidney, well BLADDER CANCER is hard on dogs also! We know darn well it is actually just to suck more money out of us, these people literally do not give a dam about your furbabies, they are money hungry leeches and will misinform you to such you dry. We have no problem spending money to help our babies, but these people will suck you dry and flat out LIE and talk condescending to you.Oh also I should mention, our Holistic vet does not understand why they wouldnt suggest surgery when that is the best chance to get it out, and the tumor is NOT located in the Trigone area or neck of ger bladder, well we know why, because this heartless Doctor was smelling the money she could get from her Chemo obsession! We will not be bullied by these money hungry people, please people find a compassionate Vet who actually cares about more than money at the expense of your furbabies health.Update: Our vet here in Texas who actually cares about our pets wellbeing over profits renewed her prescription for Piroxicam without bloodwork to get us through until we make our surgical decision. Now we have had two other vets tell us the written report from this place was not the best, so they would need their own Ultrasound to make the beat determination. At that point we will do the bloodwork, but Piroxicam for another week or two will not hurt anymore than the last two months did.

I do not normally write reviews... but the experience was less than pleasant. Watched the women working at the desk answer a call, and place it on hold while all the other women stood there, gossiping to each other about totally unrelated matters to even animals in general. About 10-12 minutes later, someone picked up the call on hold. How unprofessional...Money is not an issue when it comes to beloved pets, however, they charged $60 for an ice pack! Just unbelievable...

Absolutely unacceptable business model - I was not be able to even see the doctor because of the game played by their agent on phone. Yes, you read it correctly: they are AGENTS and they have a CALL CENTER and none of them has a clue about veterinary. Their duty is to manipulate you into being perfectly riped off BEFORE you will see a doctor. What they advertise as “unique” veterinary MRI machine is not unique at all. Its a commercial for dummies: veterinary MRI machines are available all over the world for decades.

About 4 years ago our golden had a tumor pop up on his foot. We took her to our regular vet for them to take a look. The vet took a biopsy and it came back as cancer. They offered to lop her leg off and send us on our way. We did our research and found las vegas veterinary specialists. We had a consultation with them and they were fairly certain that they could remove the tumor and enough of the cancerous parameters so that she could keep her leg. In fact they just removed a toe. Well after our surgery, our golden is now 4 years older and still has plenty of life left in her. We are grateful to las Las Vegas veterinary specialists for the extra time to us and our pup.

Horrendous experience. Easily the worst healthcare practice Ive encountered across many spaces. Avoid at all costs. If the owners would like to hear specifics about my experience (instead of me naming names here on Google which will likely fall onto deaf ears), then they may post a contact number and person to speak with below. If they dont, you can know that this place doesnt actually care about these reviews and is blind to the truth about many customer experiences here.My main goal here is to dissuade others from coming to this place. There is a very real reason why LVVSC has so many 1-star reviews, very bad service and vibe here. Try seeing if a vet can do your surgery with a traveling surgeon at their own practice before coming here.NOTE: if I do have a satisfying call with a member of their management, I will revise this review. If not - assume nothing has changed about my experience.

I brought my sweet pup, Chloe in July 16,2018 for our first appointment. She was diagnosed with an oral melanoma tumor & melanoma in her lymph nodes. Chloe underwent 8 weeks of treatments, exams, etc & sadly I had to make the difficult decision to put her to sleep on September 6, 2018 as her condition worsened. I can not say enough wonderful things about Dr. Burr, Dr. Vaughn, the entire oncology team and all of the receptionists. They are an amazing team of wonderful people. I will never forget their care and compassion with Chloe. They surprised me today by having a beautiful floral arrangement delivered to my house today. Do yourself a favor and if you’re referred to the Las Vegas Vetinary Specialty Center by your vet for the care of your pet, absolutely go to see them. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back if I get another dog. Thank you Dr. Burr for everything you did for Chloe & I!!

I read the reviews and was hesitant to go but we wanted to try everything for our pet so we went and was very pleasantly surprised. The front desk staff was nice, the nurse who took us back was also very nice and caring, the doctor was very nice, caring and explained all options. She didn’t pressure us into anything and let us talk about what we wanted to do. She did my pets exam in the room with us, gave us a Chinese herb that has some studies on battling cancer, she emailed me everything we talked about and even responded quickly to my email back to her with some questions a few days later. We saw Dr. Ashley Bennett. I would recommend her to family and friends.

I see this location has a number of 5 Star reviews for this location having taken care if their pets, but the 1 Star Reviews are not to be overlooked either. My dog was here for over a week and has since come home, but not before they handed over large bills from two separate parts of the clinic. The front end staff were generally nice and so was the Primary Vet (Doctor) whenever we got to speak to her. Otherwise 80-90% of the time we only saw a Nurse. Who brought in two quotes for services both of which have a high/low estimation. Dont be fooled by this two quote thing, they expect you to pay for both not just one. One is a charge for General Services (Day Services) and the other Emergency Services (Night Services). Keep in mind this is all Standard to them.During my pets stay they gave us a bit of a run around of We dont know what to do, It could be this or that, and We have to wait for the doctor to get an update. We were initially oblivious to the quotes that were being presented and once we realized we could only afford so much, we inquired of home care and suddenly everyone but the front desk dropped their happy faces, as if we were doing something wrong. Since being home this location has not followed up in any way, the referring clinic in North Las Vegas has called numerous times already to check on how my pet was doing. Also pending test results have been uneasy to obtain, with the front end o ly taking messages to get them from a Doctor.I hope this information gets to those under budget constraints because this clinic is unfortunately not budget friendly, I understand that you cant put a price on companionship with pets; and this place counts on that. This clinic will be welcoming until you mention you cant afford it.

DOCTORS DONT ALWAYS HAVE THE RIGHT ANSWER...The vet/animal doctor at the Las Vegas Veterinary Speciality Center took my dog to the rear of their office to examine him - out of site, did a quick examination and was back in less than 1:35 seconds (I clocked it). This cost me $150 - just the flippin exam; to which I didnt even get a written diagnosis!?! When she returned, she began to tell me I had two options for my dogs torn - not disconnected ACL. Her options were to have a ROD and SCREWS put into my dogs leg for only $5000.00 or have some band put in the leg that may not work for long - which would be less expensive, only $3500 or so. This is my dog, lady and he is family, cost is not exactly the issue when it comes to his health; whether I can afford it or not, but thanks for the option. From here my dog would have to recover which is hard, and then have to suffer the rest of his life with pain from foreign objects in his body!n Lets see, which option should I take?? I didnt want either. After more research, I learned her options were NOT the only option for my baby dog. (HER DOCTOR RECOMMENDATION WAS NOT ACCURATE - I HAD OTHER OPTIONS) and she didnt give those to me. HOW DO I KNOW? MY BEST FRIEND HAD A TORN ACL AND HAD A ROD AND SCREWS PUT IN HIS LEG, TO WHICH HE SUFFERED EVER SINCE - IT DOESNT GO AWAY APPARENTLY. My dog cant tell me he is in pain! NO, I didnt want my nine year old dog to suffer the next six to eight years because I was unaware that there are other alternatives. The alternative was a dog chiropractor, suggested by my groomer at Best In Show on Sahara Avenue. She suggested I go see Dr Bradshaw at Agape Health in Henderson (yes, its on the other side of town) but who cares this is my baby dog! The cost was $75 a visit for a total of about $600 when all was said and done. NOT $5000. She painlessly rehabilitated my babys leg and back! It took 3 months and he is back to fine! Thank you Dr Bradshaw and Agape Health, you are Awesome. DONT MAKE YOUR DOG SUFFER, HE CAN HEAL - if his ACL is not completely torn away he can heal. DONT LET THESE EXPENSIVE VETS PERFORM SURGERY ON YOUR BABY UNNECESSARILY. DONT MAKE YOUR DOG SUFFER THE RECOVERY AND THE ONGOING PAIN. THESE PEOPLE ARE VETS/Doctors WITH OPINIONS, NOT THE END TRUTH; there are other options. I FOUND ONE AND YOU CAN TOO. If your pet has trouble walking or standing, it could be as simple as getting an adjustment. They have muscle and bone just like we do and they can get hurt just like we do. A way to tell if they are hurting is to touch the skin, If their skin jiggles when you touch it, they are in pain on that part of their body. If you love them, get them help!! Dont let them suffer as they age.

If I could give zero, or negative stars, I would. Do not ever, i will repeat, EVER go here if you have options. Go to LA or Phoenix, particularly if you have a need for elective surgery.. This institution is a house of horror with arrogant doctors that lie to each other, and you, the pet owner. (Yes, I have proof.) My precious pet had surgery to see if there was cancer present in the spleen or liver. As it turned out, there was no cancer. One of the doctors, however told another doctor that my dog was full of cancer. I caught them in the lie, but nobody would come clean. My pet experienced post operative problems and was re-admitted to the internal medicine department. several times. After she was finally recovering, she suddenly became very sick again. I phoned the facility to let them know and this is what they did. Nicole Smee sent me an email message that I didnt receive until after my precious pet passed away due to negligence. This house of horror didnt follow-up to check on Maggie after I spent thousands of dollars there for her to receive what was suppose to be the best care. They knew she would require additional testing. I could provide many more details but I think you get the picture. Additionally, I would like to add that the two main receptionists on the emergency side, (during the work week) are the most incompetent, untrained, and rude Ive ever encountered in my life, after dealing with veterinary offices for over 40 years. They should be properly trained, or terminated. There does not appear to be competent oversight and/or management. I had a conversation with Dr. Hunter and I expressed my concerns over the many negative reports about this institution. She commented that Isnt it more likely that a person would post negative reviews, as opposed to positive ones? Yes Dr. Hunter, you are 100% correct. This institution neglected my pet, and she died as a result. After my pet died as a direct result of neglect from Nicole Smee, yes, this negative review is warranted.

Shame on you LVVSC, with all the money you charge here you think your doctors would have the courtesy to call back the customers? Your better off researching some specialists in AZ if you can burden the trip.Ill start by saying, I study molecular and developmental biology, and I have a pretty comprehensive understanding of how biological processes work. I agree, I am no medical expert, but molecular mechanisms count me in.I actually referred my sister here, our family dog was having some liver issues, some lesions as they refer to caused by and infection. Me being me, (too bad im too late) I was curious to the CAUSE of the infection. Called 4 times and left a message for Dr. Smee, no call back, we tried to reach her via email, also no response. Cant believe she is that busy. I also have 12 hour days and can AT LEAST respond to my email timely. So they look at her, have no idea what it is, give her antibiotics, well depending on the pathogen, certain antibiotics wouldnt work... But the vet tech defended that by saying there was bacteria in her urine ... which would be indicative of maybe a UTI but not directly her liver, as urine doesnt come from the liver (or at least I was taught) So here we are on a fishing expedition hoping to figure something out.Surprise, nothing happens. They elect to do a non invasive aspirate procedure, even though my sister asked about a direct biopsy. At this time the dog was healthy enough to do the biopsy. Results come in, inconclusive. Weeks go buy before we get results, and more time goes by before they elect to do a biopsy, we are now 3 months in since the initial discovery and also shocker, now the blood isnt clotting and they CANT biopsy her. The doctor reassured by poor parents and sister this whole time that there is plenty of healthy liver left dont worry. They go in to remove some abdominal fluid, and another doctor, not Dr. Smee apparently told them they should consider putting her down now her liver is failing?I call and try to figure out the bases of that decision, test results anything and the lead Vet Tech can not answer a single question. Except now she tells me the dogs liver has been failing the whole time? Why were we told there was plenty of healthy liver left dont worry and wasting our money if there was no chance? Now as a hail mary to try and save this poor dogs life we are going to AZ to see if there is anything they can do.Seems to me, if the dogs liver was failing the whole time and they continued to run numerous tests on it knowing it was pointless is not only disrespectful to get the owners hopes up but a complete scam. And if they couldnt identify the pathogen involved they should have told us, and we would have saved our 1000s and went to another specialist.Shame on you, transparency is key, we will be reporting, and also if our poor beloved dog does pass we will have an autopsy and if it turns out to be something that could have been easily identified early on via biopsy we will consider filing suit.

I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Fromm, or of this clinic! They are the very BEST!My 6 mo old hound puppy broke his leg attempting to scavenge food off the kitchen counter. I rushed him to my regular vet who took x-rays, diagnosed the brake, and recommended surgery to set the fracture with internal supports, referring us to LVVSC to seek council with an Orthopedic Surgeon. Needless to say; I was heartbroken for my poor baby whimpering in pain, terrified of the prospects of surgery on such a young pup, and worried about what all of this was going to cost.LVVSC fit me in the very next morning. I was certain they would tell me surgery was the only option, and then hit me with the $3500 bill my regular vet gave me as an estimate the day previous. Dr. Fromm (who is quite handsome and charming... an added bonus, am I right ladies?!?) told me Baby Dumb-Dumb Hound would be just fine with “medical management” meaning we would put him in a cast, restrict his activity for a month, and he would be as good as new.Whaaaa? A Surgeon who doesn’t recommend surgery? #ethical #impressed #ishesingle?I paid them a few hundred bucks, (a deal after mentally committing to the $3,500 quoted a mere 12 hours earlier) and they cast the leg. They then re-cast it a week or so later when Captain Simpleton, a.k.a Baby Broken Hound, ate through his cone-of-shame, and the cast, and then busted out of his kennel-jail jumping all over the furniture with his freshly busted appendage....A few weeks later, Dr. Fromm down-graded the cast to a splint, then the splint to a soft bandage, etc...Fast-forward to present day, and Baby Broken Hound is now Baby Healed Hound all thanks to hottie Dr. Fromm and LVVSC. No surgery, no second mortgage on my house to pay the vet bill...just a healed, happy, (albeit simple) puppy. I was even so impressed (I mean, probably just in love) with Dr. Fromm that I asked if he would perform the neuter on Captain Simpleton Hound, and was turned down! They told me that paying an Orthopedic Surgeon to perform a neuter was a “ridiculous waste of money” and made my regular vet do it.While I am devastated my visits with Dr. Fromm are over, I am beyond grateful for the care LVVSC took of my houndy puppy. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for veterinary speciality care!

My Family had to go through hell, numerous calls and emails just to get the records of services they supposedly performed while our min pin was admitted for several days. It was like pulling teeth to get our dogs records. The amount paid to them was $4,000, they milked us of unnecessary test that were not even related to our visit! Then they want to put us through hoops and loops and wasted trips playing games to obtain our dogs records! In my opinion this group is shady, unprofessional, uncaring, dismissive, rude and money hungry.Min Pin diagnosed by her own Vet for (collapsed trachea) X-Ray was provided to them that we paid for from our referring Vet. They managed to lose her X-Ray that we provided and did not care. The Staff is completely stressed out and overwhelmed from being so busy that they are rude and dont want to be bothered. In my opinion they are probably overworked and underpaid. They are consistently stressed and rushed in person and over the phone. In our experience they are only concerned with money, they insisted on running test that were not even related to the issue. They demanded the test or threatened they could not continue. Ok so they gouged us for a new X-Ray even though we brought one from previous vet that was a week old, they lost it also. They insisted on radiographs, ultrasound, biopsy, blood work, urinalysis and promised only a 3 day stay which they milked and strong armed into 6 days. After all of these thousands of dollars later, 6 days in their care and testing we are left broke. And our min pin is no better than she was the first day. They milked us dry and now want after $4,000 paid to them already. They want another $2,000 for a scope and approx $4500 for the stint surgery. They are cold blooded, after we took our dog home she was throwing up and unable to breath even worse than before. We took her to another Animal Hospital who was concerned and passionate. They kept her on oxygen therapy and administered the CORRECT medicine to keep our dog stable and comfortable. She was much improved since the care from another local animal hospital.LVVSC did not even give us the correct medicine for our dog which caused her to fail at home immediately!!!!!In my opinion LVVSC is just a money hungry cold hearted operation that makes money from doing every unrelated test under the sun and providing minimal care.$4,000 given to them for nothing, our dog will suffer and pay the price for their GREED. We wont be giving them another dime so they put the middle finger up to us and our sick dieing dog.I will travel to another State to have any Specialty surgeries or procedures done at this point. They are the only Operation in town, they have one Doctor in this whole State that does a collapsed trachea stint repair. They know they have everyone by the balls so they just dont care. They prey on your suffering and vulnerability and rape you of money.Dr. Nicole Smee aka Nikki was not a nice person to deal with. She was condescending, made excuses and never followed through on anything. She was impossible to get ahold of and had zero compassion. She was only focused on money and lost interest when she learned we wont be paying for any additional services at this time since they still wanted to continue with more and more test and now a $2,000 scope! They raped us of $4,000. We are going to lose our baby and they dont care. After a 6 day stay in their care you would think they would do a courtesy follow up call to see how our dog is doing. Nope nothing, once the gravy train of funds ended so did they!Cold blooded and money hungry, their interest is not the well being of your fur baby!

Man Im very skeptical of veterinarian establishments and I could never afford this place but we were blessed with help. Our poor little son dozer a very large pit bull which some places have just made us feel like crap due to them treating us and our beloved dog dozer like we were bad people bringing a big ferocious pit bull in here with a chain on him yeh see where Im going. But THIS PLACE they never once looked at us or our dog like he was mean or bad or we were bad parents. Weve spent all we had and got funded to help with a surgery procedure from a great DR. The staff front desk to the last nurse and dr. Were very helpful and treated our dog like a prince that he is. So all the bad reports that say how this place is about the money I dont believe you. They found he doesnt need surgery RIGHT IMAGINE THAT. Theyre treating him now and he is doing great and going to come home. That to me is a place with great ethics. They couldve said do this or that but they were honest and loving us I would go back if I needed their help. Thank you guys for helping us with our little DOZER THANK YOU SO MUCH YOULL NEVER KNOW THE PEACE YOU GUYS BROUGHT
