Lord it really hurts to right this, but I must say AA in my eyes is no longer a top tier airline.! Me and my 7 year old son waited in the airport 12 HOURS!!! Terrible Customer Service, with the exception to one man named Mr. Charles in ORD airport. The man caught hell from everyone, still compelled his composure and kept it 1000% professional he’s also the reason we were able to make the last flight home. AA must be better for those prices people pay for those flights.

American Airlines flight from Las Vegas to Dallas and from Dallas to Miami. I have to say that no social distancing, flight was at full capacity, all the seats were taking. When you board the plane you are given a bag with water, pretzels, cookies and a hand sanitizer. People are called by sections but dont respect the 6ft distance protocol.

All I wanted was to change my flight because of my uncles untimely death. I will never work, fly ir recomend then to anyone. They only care about making their money. No respect for human life. Very poor experience at check in. When we tried to check in for our flight to curacao the desk employee told us that we (amongst) 2 other forms we had to fill a third form, which is a form for visitors.We told him politely that we are residents and the form did not apply to us, after his boss joined she told us the same, because the screens tells me so. We explained again that this form is not for residents, tried to show the official governmental website which also states that the form is not needed for residents.He then refused to check us in and told us to move aside. His boss told us that we needed to lie on official govermental form and state that we are visitors and also lie about the travel dates.We told her that this is of course not acceptable and requested them to contact our authorities.They both refused to contact our authorities. After a lot of struggle we, under protest, filled the form and requested to put on file this whole procedure, we also mailed our authorities about this matter.After contacting the customer service they mainly stated that the employees needed to follow the database (not think for themselves?!?).This besides other issues during this trip, all in all a very poor experience from both desk, stewards and customer service employees. The only funny, good part was the pilot with his ‘groovy’ start and landing comments.

I will never fly American Airlines again. I purchased two round-trip tickets leaving from New York going to Vegas with a stop in Philadelphia. The flight from New York me and my boyfriend were seated together. The flight from Philly we were split up. Now I’m at the airport and it’s delay after delay. Now I’m being told that it’s a possibility that the flight won’t leave until tomorrow. “I got to go to work tomorrow”.

If I could give less than one star, I would! Lanell the AA supervisor in LV was rude and argumentative from the beginning. We had traveled for 24 hours on Saturday as our connector was canceled at DFW. We were booked on another flight the next day. We stood in line at service desk with ONE rep to help reticket the entire flight, she said that she had to take a break. This women left the line of customers there as she went to break. (I was told later by a couple that was on the flight that they were in line for an hour until the rep came back).I proceeded to booked my own flight for the same day because we had a non refundable hotel on Vegas for Saturday night at Mandalay bay ($530 that night). AA sent our bags to Vegas from DFW and canceled all of our return flights because the agent in DFW didnt note this properly. So we got to AA to depart only to find out that we didnt have seats. I needed to document all of this for refunds and such, so put my glasses on to read the ladies name tag. She said Its Lanell- make sure you spell it right. I pulled out my phone because this type of customer service is unacceptable and should be reported to her superiors. She told me she would no longer assist me and gave me a card with a number to call and arrange my own flights. I did that with ease but this is unacceptable for a supervisor/manager to treat a loyal AA customer.Id recommend another airline.

Sad sad service. Employees are rude and have no compassion for someone trying to figure out how to get home.First time having issues with security caused us to miss flight. Trying to rebook was a nightmare, lady at the counter yelled and scolded. Told to go to gate and wait. Flight was booked, no room. Gate agent rolled her eyes when we asked what to do now. We have never missed a flight before so we have no idea how any of it works. Shrugged her shoulders and said you will wait on next flight and if it’s full then you’ll get put on standby again and again. SMHNever flying them again. Took a loss on those tickets and booked with competitor who actually gave a damn.

Loyal AA customer for many years.I’m really conflicted. Had a hard time with AA lately. Its been a rough year, but that’s no reason to slack on good customer service, consistent quality, and helpfulness. Spent several months trying to use a credit. Terrible customer service from several agents trying to resolve it, none of which gave the same or correct info. Tried to book flight with an agent since I was told I had to with credit, the agent had no clue what to do, kept messing up, putting me on hold, and after about 45 minutes as I was trying to pay her and she tried charging me separately for my tickets which would have voided my daughters benefits for traveling with me as Platinum Pro member, got frustrated and just hung up. I Made a written complaint and a very good rep finally fixed my credit so I could use it and fixed my status.On my recent trip, the people at the gate were INCREDIBLY rude. One in Las Vegas actually treated me like a 5 year old child, in front of a line full of people. It was like my mother yelling at me to do something and I did, but not correctly, and I was supposed to understand better, so she just kept barking at me and pointing until I was compliant, it was terrible. I stepped up to the counter exactly where the previous two people were, but I guess it was the wrong place. She rudely yelled at me pointing and swishing her finger over until I was perfectly centered and a step back from the plexiglass. I had no clue what I did wrong nor had I what she wanted nor did I even speak yet. I am 48, traveling with my 21 year old. I was so embarrassed in front of a gate full of people. She could have used her big girl words and been polite. Would have gone better for everyone. I tried ask a question, but she couldn’t hear me or ignored me, unsure which. She just snatched my boarding pass and then shoved it back and literally shewed me away with her hand. I never got a complete word out to her. I know the worlds a little crazy right now... but come on AA. Train your people better or send them home. Lots of nice, happy to help, people need jobs.Similarly, at our layover, I walked up to the counter to ask a question about our seats because I get a free upgrade. It didn’t look like my daughter and I were placed together as we requested. As I approached, agent was just arriving, out of breath and late, trying to put her purse away, etc. I’m a patient person and just waited. There were 2 agents there. Both ignored me and continued a conversation. I waited, then said excuse me? I just need to check on our seats. She looked at me and said “it’s a full flight!” And continued doing something on the counter. I said, I’m sorry, it just looks like we are seated separately, can we be seated together? She sighed, huffed a bit, slammed my boarding pass down, said it will be a minute and said out loud as she was typing “people just don’t understand we don’t have time for this”. I apologized to her and said it would be fine, but she kept doing whatever it was she was doing. I said ma’am, really, it’s ok. I know you’re busy. We will be fine. At that point she started looking at our boarding passes, handed them back, and said sorry, nothing I can do. The person waiting behind me quietly turned around and walked away. I heard the agent say ma’am? Did you need something? The lady and I turned at the same time and caught eyes. She said no, that’s ok. I’m good, and looked at me like, what the heck just happened. She looked terrified to approach the agent. The agent started yelling out names of standby passengers like an angry school teacher, reaching for their boarding passes and assigning seats while carrying on a conversation with her coworker and not making eye contact with travelers. Stressful.My daughter and I ended up on separate sides of the plane in separate rows even though they were accepting standby passengers, one of which they sat next to my daughter just before our gate closed.We were fine, just not the type of treatment or service we expect when traveling. We may be changing airlines. So sad AA.

My ticket got cancelled. The agents excuse is she does not know why. I have the electronic ticket on the phone. Boarding as the last passenger. Further we are now waiting for over 30 minutes in the airplane, supposedly for missing paperwork. I am a Platinum member and the service just keeps getting worse. The agents and flight attendants have additionally an attitude. Nice combination.

If you want your customers to present ID at self check-in, please program that into the self service kiosk. I dont appreciate having rude employees tell me my ID should be out already when I had no idea they would be checking my ID. The screen should prompt me to have ID ready. Its not that difficult to program that in.This is not my first bad experience flying with American Airlines. Customer service is very poor. I will be flying Delta in the future

This review is specific to check in for American Airlines at Las Vegas international. The crew here are friendly, helping you with your luggage and informing you of delays/things to be aware of. The area is clean and up to date. The line to the gates can get long if youre not TSA Pre, so if youre leaving at a peak time, give yourself a buffer. Prepare for a walk, this is a large terminal!

I missed my flight this morning but the agent at the counter, her name is Michelle was very helpful in getting me a new ticket and even making sure I didnt have to spend the night at a foreign city airport by myself. The WORST airline experience I have ever had. Bar none. I watched my friend who checked in at the same desk as me get on a plane, while I am delayed approximately 6 hours from my original flight. Because I have a checked bag? My friend did as well. 0 consistency, and more canceled flights with this org than any other. From someone who travels many times every year, avoid American Airlines at all costs. 70+% of the positive reviews on here have no comments, go figure.

I had a layover flight yesterday, and my trip was leaving from Mia to Las Vegas. The first flight was smooth and great, however the second flight from LAX to LAS was absolutely terrible. We were supposed to arrive to Vegas at 6:09 pm, but myself and all the other passengers arrived to Vegas at 11:35 pm. The original departure time was 4:55 pm. After departing, 30 minutes later we were told that we had to turn back around because the secondary valve faulted. I don’t understand why the valves weren’t checked before we left the ground and this is where I have my concern. Also while I was waiting on the plane the workers were discussing about the passengers being upset. I’m not sure if they knew I was still on the plane once we arrived back to LAX, but that was highly unprofessional. The flight was delayed five times before we finally landed to Las Vegas.

Hated it, really. Delayed my flight for 12 hours and didn’t even notify me in advance. I’m at the gate, and should I sit here until the evening, when I could stay by the pool??? And of course I’ll miss all three connecting flights and arrive 1 day later to where I need to go, and miss a lot of important appointments on that day. Burn in hell American Airlines! I’ve never been your client and I’ll never be!

I have given this airline many opportunities for them to make up for their errors, but they are consistently poor all around the US. You guys don’t understand, I brought my suitcase into two planes, then got off at Dallas for a layover, and they said my suitcase was too big when getting on that specific time. I don’t quite understand how that happens, and I’d like someone who actually knows how to talk to people to tell me my bag is too big, and give me a nice long talk about why that just happened.

Earlier this year I had a planned trip to D.C. for an important event. The day of my flight I got there 2 hours before my flight departure time as recommended. As I was trying to check in, their staff directed me wrong causing me to be exactly 1 minute and a half late for check in. Then they denied me my flight, by their ignorance. To make a long story short, I was put on standby flights, got stuck in Charlotte, NC with no luggage/clothes, had to purchase a hotel for the night, wasted my hotel night in D.C., then I finally got there the next morning and I literally had to run to my event to make it on time. It was the worst experience Ive ever had with an Airline.

I have experienced 2 instances of crookery by AA. This weekend I attempted to redeem my awards miles (for the nth time) ... their website no longer allows you to complete the reservation online, and forces you to call the 800 number to pay for it. When you call they charge you a fee for not using the website. I argued with the rep on the phone to no avail. She insisted that the website allows you to pay and complete the reservation when using award miles and thats that. The other time was 2 years ago at Miami Intl where their SCALES WERE RIGGED in favor of the airline by about 5 lbs. My bag weighed under the limit of 50lbs and had already been checked and re-checked 2 times by other airlines the same day. Everyone was either re-packing or paying $100 overweight fees. It was criminal.

Waiting in line for 10 min. A lady from American Airlines asked us to get out and do the machine thing to get the tickets. Around 50 machines and 1 lady who don’t know what is she doing. It’s kind of impossible for one person to handle over 50 people...it’s clear that American Airlines has big issues with customer support.30 min later I’m back in the line because the machine doesn’t work.Update ... checking in today for a trip. We went again over all that unhelpful staff. We are at front desk and 2 complete incomplete people try to issues the tickets since ... 40 min now.Ok, this is definitely last time flying with this company!

Flight attendants will avoid you like the plaque if you want to simply ask a question. Company was rude and nasty when I politely asked them to get me on another flight. Had to sleep at the airport. I have had the worst experience with American Airlines to my destination and back and I will never fly with them again.My flight was from BDL to LAS with a connector in Charlotte, NC. Because of the weather, our flight was delayed at Bradley which is not their fault. However, the miscommunication between their different American Airline hubs was! First off, the attendant at Bradley told us that there was such a delay for our flight that we’ll miss our connector in North Carolina and that we should probably just come back to the airport tomorrow because all the connector flights are booked up and yours is still looking like it’s on time. It’s a good thing we didn’t listen to her because that flight form North Carolina to LAS was delayed three times as well! We had even an hour and a half wait to our connector!Then, we finish our vacation and get to the airport in a timely manner and then TSA is all backed up leaving us with what we think is still a good amount of time to get to our flight (timing our times with what we usually use with BDL and JFK). But low and behold we miss our flight by 2 MINUTES! And this was told to us by a very standoffish attendant with an unwarranted attitude. So as we watched our plane sit there for ten minutes then take off, we were told my a manager that it was our fault that TSA took so long and we should’ve been here earlier. And that we wouldn’t get compensated for any of our troubles and that it’s a $200 charge each to switch flights but even so all the flights are booked. And that we are on standby for the next flight even though they’re all booked up.Additionally, we had hope to get on the next flight because we talked to someone first, but of course the people who had frequent flyer miles got into standby first who missed their flight as well!Also, there’s no free WiFi on the airplane, I had to pay for my checked bag TWICE! And the seats are so smushed together it’s not even funny.I am just shocked and appalled at the customer service of this airline and will never fly with them again. I will go back to Jet Blue even if it’s a little more money.

Booked our flights 1 year to our departure time. Got told we were not allowed to take on our carry on lounge on board because there was no room to put our bags. Got on our flight and just about everyother person on flight had a carry on bag same as us. Our seats were located right at the back of the plane infront of the toilet section. Also to mention that we checked into our flight 2 1/2 hours before our departure time and we were last to board the airline.May not to mention we came all the way from Australia to have a holiday of a life time.Also my mum, dad and sisters televisons were not working and one flight attendants rudely told them “watch the person infront of you tvs” which was quite impossible. Did not offer any other alternatives.When my mum confronted them to say she was not impressed when so the flight attendant told her basically to just get over it because its a “short flight”. Flight attendants were very unprofessional when someone on board asked for an orange juice one flight attendant simply ignored it and said to another “she couldnt even rember who asked her for one”Flight attendants did not attend to any customers on board they sat on their phones in the back area talking about their personal lives and also on their phones messaging friends and talking about it really loudly seeing as we were right at the back because we could here everything. Flight attendants came across as presented very messy and did not care about anyone on board only themselves.Will never fly wish such a rude underachieving airline ever again. Thanks for making it the worst flight experience we have had.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. They basically make it almost impossible to get contacted so customers give up on complaining due to the runaround they receive from the company.I flew to visit family for Christmas 2015 using air miles I accumulated with my AAdvantage Citi Credit card. On the return flight back to Los Angeles, the flight was delayed because it took forever to de-ice the plane in Minneapolis. So we arrived super late for the Phoenix layover and I missed my flight back to LAX. There were HUGE lines to get a hotel voucher so I wasted a lot of time and ended up getting very little sleep since I had to get an early flight the next day. AND the hotel they put us up in was a total dump - so basically I went from horrible First Class to a dumpy no-class hotel!Also, when they took my carry-on bag from me for the one flight that was on a smaller jet, they managed to crack one of my 311 bottles for liquids.

Horrible Flight! My wife and i booked a flight from Miami to Vegas, and as you know is a 5hour flight, well American apparently is sill using planes from 1990 because this plane was really old and the worst part were the seats! No reclining or cushioning at all! It felt like flying seated on a wooden chair, Imagine 5 hours of that!! I had never had problems with american but i dont know if will use them again, trans continental flights should be equipped with new and comfortable planes! Oh and in case you are wondering the ticket wasnt one of those super cheap ones it was regular price, i avoided using one of those super cheap airlines thinking that American would offer a better service, now we have to get back and we are fearing the same for our return flight. The good part is that we got to vegas safely, other than that it was like fliying in an old 1960 woltzwagen beetle! Deeply disappointed

In the check-in area we checked two Sonsonite bags (new) for which we paid an extra $ 70. And each weighing less than 45 lbs. The clerk grabs it and throws it away. I stayed Wow !! Not because we were in front of her 😒😒😒. Well, not to make a long story short, see how my luggage was destroyed. I know that employees dont care about someone elses property, but gentlemen, how hard is it for us to buy things 😢 And things are not enough to give bad services. I had the idea that AA were one of the best companies to travel to. But what a disappointment. 👎👎👎

We have not had good experiences with this company, although the service inside and outside the aircraft has always been good, courteous.The problem is that they use very old airplanes: without a television, a broken seat belt, a seat that does not recline, with an ashtray (amazing) covered (of course) ... other problems of lack of maintenance. On the last trip with AA, our flight was moved from morning to night due to technical problems with the aircraft and we almost missed the flight because the company itself printed the number of one of the tickets wrong. If it werent for our travel agent to solve the problem (at that time the companys window was already closed) we wouldnt have been able to board.

THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE WAS HORRIBLE. TRAVELING WITH THEM A PORQUERIA gave me an hour of connection in Miami and I had to look for my suitcase when I almost came running the flight had gone to Las Vegas I was waiting from 8 pm to 10 am The next day when I went to board the plane I had not been given a seat because there was no availability I had to wait at 2 pm for the next flight to Las Vegas and it was not direct with a connection in Texas and a stopover for 4 hours the supervisor who He gave me a horrible treatment of the worst, I find this company a GARBAGE and a lack of respect for the worst. NEVER AGAIN I TRAVEL WITH THEM
