I feel the need to share my experience with others. I made the big mistake not looking up Steinborns reviews first before choosing to do business with them. Otherwise I would have known to keep moving elsewhere to lease a home. You will lose your application money $30 fast! Ill explain they wont tell you online that a property probably has 20 or more applicants waiting for the same property. To me it sounds like a scam. Why keep a property advertised online for weeks letting other people continue to apply if Steinborn knows they will never have a chance. Well if you think about it thats a lot of money they make from not refunding your money on an application fee. Especially when they keep not one property but multiple at any given time online for weeks. They should be sued for that no doubt about it!

Christi Getz definitely offered the worst service I’ve ever dealt with. Very simple texts about a property was something she wasn’t trying to deal with apparently. From someone trying to rent and possibly buy a property, rudeness isn’t something needed. Will never rent or buy from this company

These people are so fortunate that I really like my apartment and it’s location because they are absolutely worthless. If it wasn’t for the cute apartment close to campus I found, I would try to get out of my lease ASAP. They turned the AC off and the heaters on in mid-October, which would be fine if the forecast for the coming week in Las Cruces wasn’t in the high 80s. It is currently hotter in my apartment than it is outside. Also, you have to actively get on their nerves in order for them to get anything done regarding repairs. If it is not a problem that actively needs fixing, they will not keep up with the building. Their reception people are nice, but anybody who isn’t reception is so curt it makes me wonder why they work in real estate because it seems like they loathe their jobs. If you find a place you like through Steinborn, go for it; Just know that they won’t give a damn about you.

Stop Look And Listen! So after reading reviews i still didnt listen. Myself and my family went on vacation back at the end of January to Washington Dc. Unfortunately we got stuck in Covid lock down for 2 months and was unable to travel. In dyer need to get back home and settle we put in app thinking it would be a simple process. Both my wife and I worked and both made double the income individually so we figured it would be no problem with getting accepted. I had just got a new job so i provided the job offer letter as requested. My wife submitted 2 paystubs proving the income and that my wife made double the income alone. They started with the run around by saying they would contact us in 24 to 48 hours to let us know. However when i called after the 48 hours to check application they said they where stiill working on it and they would get back. They also said that even though my wife made double the rent (which is the requirement) That the offer letter submitted by me was not enough and that i would need proof of income. I told them that i only have offer letter because its a new job i provided them with the hr number and my recruiters number. I asked if they called hr to do check they said no only the recruiter and he is not in. When I asked if the contacted Hr they said no they didnt call. IT STATES ON APP THAT YOU MUST MAKE 2 TIMES THE RENT. How ever they did not process mine or my wifes application because even thought she makes the required i only have an offer letter. So if they didnt process out application Where is our application fee. I feel that they where discriminating and will be reaching out to see what call around and check into it.tHIS IS WHAT IT STATES ON THE SITE APPLICATION2. Proof of Income and Credit History – We require proof of income from all applicants that are 18 years of age and older. If you are relying on the income from more than one person when we are evaluating your application, we need proof of income from each of those persons. This can include but is not limited to the following: last two (2) most recent pay stubs; a written job offer on company letter head with the salary offered by yourThey never called Hr to evem check my employment even thought my info was not needed. i guess there are special rules for african americans im gonna call around and see . But i do know one thing right now is not a time to be discriminatory in americaIn the mean time dont be like me read the reviews they are true!

They will nickel and dime you when it’s time to move out!! Paid 415$ to have the house professionally cleaned and they charged me another 100$ to have it cleaned again . Stay away from this company !! Constant headache from the beginning!!! They will rip you off someway or somehow!!

I have been discriminated by this company. Their application states that If you are relying on more than one persons income they need proof of income for each applicant. It also states that any other income is not needed. if at least one member of the household makes twice as much of the rent then the co-applicant income is not needed. This company is not going by any of their requirements. They basically told me that each adult must be employed and make double the income. They refused to process my application because my husband job offer letter did not contain the pay amount even after knowing I met the requirements by myself.

Im shocked to have found out that this company is requiring a $30 fee for each person that will be living in a home for each home they want to SEE!.... not rent, just to see the home. I asked for clarification, saying it could cost me hundreds of dollars to see homes I might not even be interested in. They said due to covid19, yeahhh sorry.Talk about a good way to make some cash off of innocent renters during these hard times. What a shame. I had always heard good things about Steinborn.

NEVER RENT FROM STEINBORN. THEY ARE NOT AT A CONVENIENCE TO TENANTS AND GIVE THE RUN AROUND. “IF” and “WHEN” THEY RESPOND IT’S WITH CHEAP MAINTENANCE. AND WON’T GIVE DEPOSITS BACK EVEN IF HOUSE IS GOOD CONDITION. QUICK TO WANT THEIR MONEY, BUT NOT QUICK TO RESPOND TO THEIR ISSUES. BEEN RENTING GOING ON 3 YEARS AND NOTHING BUT POOR MANAGEMENT. Stienborn doesn’t care about you . Safe your time and go else where. They only care about the money. I haven’t receive my portion of the deposit and It wasn’t until I sent a letter requesting my deposit to be refunded to me in full that they started taking me serious. They just don’t want to be sued but remeber don’t let some ignorant people that don’t know how to do their job take advantage of you do what you have to do. It’s in your very right.

We have had good and bad experiences with Steinborn. The good started when the company was under the original management. We leased a house through Steinborn for 2 years. When we signed the lease, we were told there would be a carpet cleaning charge when we moved out. When we moved out our deposit was promptly returned, minus the carpet cleaning charge.We bought a house listed by Steinborn at that time and the sale went smoothly.A year ago we decided to sell our house and listed it with Steinborn. It didn’t sell right away so we took it off of the market temporarily because of holidays and we were going to be out of town.When we returned from our trip, Steinborn had a buyer for us. It was a good deal but because the buyer was a cash buyer and wanted immediate occupancy, but we had to scramble to find a place to move into.Steinborn Property Management had house for rent that was available and satisfactory. It took what I think was a bit of rule bending on their part to make it happen but we were able to close and move into the rental house.We moved out at the end of the lease and 30 days later received the return of our deposit minus a charge for light cleaning and repair of paint damage.This surprised me because when we moved in there was considerable damage to some of the woodwork which I documented but I didn’t see any damage to any of the painted surfaces. I still don’t know what paint was damaged.The charge for cleaning was an even greater surprise because we cleaned that house from end to end before we left. I scrubbed the toilets, sinks, bathtubs and shower. I steam mopped the tile floors and dry mopped the wood floors. I washed all the windows, inside and out. We both worked on the kitchen and the appliances were as clean as 8 to 10-year-old appliances can be.I tried to call the agent to question the charges but she was not in. The person who answered the call identified herself as the director and she suggested that I send an email with my questions. My agent returned the email saying that she would look up the pictures and get back to me on July, 6. I guess that means that the dirt we were charged $129.98 for “light cleaning” was photographed. Today is July 20th and still nothing from the agent.I guess that means we are not getting all of our deposit back. They’re apparently going to keep the money to clean a spotless house.This surprises me because Steinborn earned a handsome commission on the sale of our house.This could all be alleviated if the agent would conduct the final walk through with the departing tenant. That way they would have to look them in the eye and point out what is not acceptable. The tenant would have the opportunity to correct the situation.Although this may be a shortcoming on the part of the agent and not the company, the company is responsible for their agents.Based on this experience, I would have to say that if you seeking a real estate agent in Las Cruces, I would look elsewhere. I cannot recommend a company that treats their customers he way we have been treated.

I was looking to rent a new apartment and I gave Steinborn a call because a friend of mine recommended them very highly. Maritza helped me not only find an amazing place, but she made herself available to answer all my questions and she was extremely friendly throughout the process. I normally HATE having to look for a new place, but this experience was overall really great and I definitely have Maritza to thank!

Anytime there is an issue with one of their properties they put in a work order right away and call to check up on me and make sure the issue was taken care of. They are really great and treat us like family. 5 stars for the entire team but especially Juanita they’re Director.

Came in to set up an appointment on a Friday to see properties. Woman was polite and took our information and told us we could view houses the next day (Saturday). Come that morning, we arrive to tour properties to find only the maintenance manager (Beau, great guy, deserves praise) manning the office. He tells us that they dont show properties on Saturday, but asks who we talked to. He was kind enough to reach out to the woman who had set up our appointment, who then lied to him and us, saying that she had told us they dont show properties on Saturdays. I wouldve understood a miscommunication, but we were lied to, then called liars by a company we were thinking about renting from. Our decision: stay away. Its one thing to make a mistake, and another to lie to your potential clients.

I have had an amazing experience with Steinborn Property Management. I was in the area looking for a home to rent and the Property Managers made themselves readily available to show me homes I was interested in. Property Managers’ Megan and Marittza showed me homes and were very knowledgeable of what each home had to offer. Though I did not lease a home due to work changes, if reassigned to the area I would definitely go back to Steinborn.

Ive liked Steinborn a lot over the last few months of living in one of their managed properties. However, they refuse to believe that its getting hotter earlier every year, so theyre still turning on air conditioners at the end of April. Today, the high here is 93° F. We live in a primarily brick house and one it heats up to the high for the day, the house likes to retain that heat all night. We havent been able to sleep or do our work since we make our living from home. And the kids are miserable, unable to sleep or do anything without overheating. When I brought this up to the management, the guy that works there, Isaac, said its the way theyve done it for years. And I told him that years ago, it was a good 10-15 degrees cooler this time of the year, but now its hotter and needs to get done sooner. Then his reasoning is that hes doing it a couple days earlier than he ever has. Well, Isaac, that is still a couple of weeks too late. Youre supposed to do it before the weather gets to the 90s... If my kids get sick or injured because of this delay in providing us what we pay for and need, they will be hearing from the courts.

Where do I start, the whole year we lived in the house we had 4 issues that required people to come out and fix. Every time we called they would make an appointment and never show up we would have to call over and over again to get someone to show up. My husband and I would take off of work and stay home just for no one to show up. This happened every single time we needed help. On top of that even after getting out and finishing our lease in February. Our property manager told us they would switch all the utilities in there name even called twice to confirm it and both time they said they did. We paid all the remaining balances. To now find out they didn’t change the trash and waste water till April. Since we moved out of the property we never received a bill and now the balance from February-April got sent to collects. To make matters even worse when I called to ask what happened I was met with such a lack of empathy. They did not care they didn’t even bother to try and explain but kept telling it was my problem. They told I was responsible for changing it and when I told them someone from their office told me other wise they told “oh well that wasn’t true”. Mind you they told me it was my responsibility and that they didn’t do that however, they switched both electric and the water but didn’t so the waste water and trash? So I asked them I don’t understand if it was my responsibility why did they change the other utilities. Also, no where in our lease agreement does it say any of this. It’s honestly really sad. Overall, from what we have experienced they just don’t care. We feel so bad about everything that now we are looking to buy a house we won’t go anywhere near any steinborn property.

I’d say the realtor is the best in town when it comes to respect and customer service. Fair and honest individuals is what keeps me renting from this realtor. We called about a townhouse for rent, person in the office stated that wasn’t able to be viewed or anything til January 15. When we called again on the date they said to schedule a viewing they said it was already occupied but wanted to help find another place.They again gave us another viewing date on a place. They called to reschedule because they were closed that day. We rescheduled again, but now this time, once again the place we have scheduled to view is no longer available. Which is a joke.We specifically asked for them to plz tell us what we needed to do to get into this rental. As we have never rented through a management company, it’s always been personal renters. It was within our price range & would accept our dogs.No one else will accept our pups so it was very important for us to get into this home. Mis-informative & a joke as a business.

Juanita does an amazing job. She is really understanding and has helped me through my rental process. Steinborn does a fantastic job, I get why some people might have had a bad experience based on rules they might not have followed but if you do it right you get treated right. I definitely recommend using Steinborn for property management and being a tenant!

I am giving one star because sometimes they actually come through. However, I have called several times and emailed several times for on going issues with our property. They never message back. I won’t go into detail because we still live at the property but I will say that once our lease is up we will NEVER rent from them again. From reviews I read, there aren’t any good property management companies in this town. There is no such thing as customer service with Steinborn. I can tell you that we will be purchasing a home and wanted to rent for a while to get used to the community. My husbands job is a very large employer and we will not refer Steinborn to anyone we know unless they can get their act together.

Contacted this company when I was interested in a property they “manage”. Company did not return calls. Emailed the company and got a response saying they could not show property. I submitted and paid for application for fiancé and myself and had to wait a week for response. I’m glad we found out before we signed a lease how unorganized they are.I do not recommend them and would suggest property owners to have their properties managed by another respectable company.They respond only when they see it fits their schedule and seem as if they don’t care. Read the other reviews. I should of listened to them myself.

Weve rented the same apartment since 2013, we always paid rent on time and I would like to think that we were good Tennants. The biggest problems that we faced through the years was when we needed repairs to any part of the apartment. We would call and call and they said that they would make a work order but then nothing else was ever done. We delt with that for years. Now that we have moved out and were waiting on the return of our deposit they give a break down of all of our charges. Now mind you they give a very detailed move out list so it was easy. Did everything (except change the light bulbs) that the move out list required. Now Im looking at the invoice and all the cleaning and everything that we did they went through and did again and then charged us for it!!!! If your going to make that a requirement for moving out why on Earth would you charge me to clean. Thats down right wrong. That apartment was clean, with brand new tile! Theres no way possible that a home service-full heavy cleaning is required for $189.55. also to add to that all the work orders we had called about in the past we have been charged for as well. They have kept about 75%of the deposit. DONT EVER RENT FROM STEINBORN. DEFINITELY WILL NOT BE RECOMMENDING THEM EVER AGAIN.

Rented from steinborn for 6 years at 1840 locust . Gave our 30 day notice, payed rent on time for last 6 years . Was curious to find out about my returnable deposit .well all work orders put in past were getting charged out our deposit . Which is ridiculous! Also not only to include our apartment was flooded twice by next door neighbor tentants . Which was never compensated for it . Walls are sheet rock . So i guarantee there is mold in the walls. All they did was suck the water from the carpets and put fans on to dry . Horrible experience. Only got about 20% of deposit back due to work orders in past smh

Steinborn took over our private landlords property 30 days before the lease was up. we did not have a contract with Steinborn, they took over our rental agreement. The expirence was terrible. Terrible customer service. Property management advisors tried to make up things that were not in our contract with the original landlord. They could not change the original contract however, they tried. Steinborn (specifically Juanita) threatened to come in the house without permission, tried to tell us we had to give notice of moving out etc. We had to contact an attorney because the people who work their are so dumb. Luckily, they finally figured out we were correct. So thankful we don’t have to rent from them anymore. Worst 30 days of our life.

Marittza Ortiz was assigned to me as my Steinborn Property Manager and she did an incredible job in guiding me through the process to lease a home here in Las Cruces.I was moving in from Out of State and was looking for the ideal place to move my belongings. The second property we looked at both Marittza and I knew it was the right residence for me.Marittza followed through with everything to guide me into my new home. She met me on a Sunday afternoon to give me the keys and had taken care of all the minor things needing fixing before I ever moved in.The staff at Steinborn is always friendly and willing to help. They made my move from out of state easy to take ownership and get started with my new life in a fabulous home here in Las Cruces.I would recommend Steinborn as quality property managers who take every concern with professional attitudes and careful due diligence to make sure everything goes right.

I went in with my brother 3 weeks ago desperately looking for a Home . We explain the lady at the front about our situation and instead of explaining to us the process she gave me a piece of paper to put my information down. Now because of lack of professionalism we are about to be homeless :( two whole weeks when by hoping they will call us but nothing. Finally waited for my day off and decided to go see what the problem was. Everyone there treated me bad while all the other white people were treated important. The lady told me to fill out an application form which I did do but because of this now all the good cheap homes are taken. They treat it us so awful we are mexicans yes we are are but dont assume we dont have credit. I feel like they discriminated against us. If you are NOT WHITE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE OR YOUR MONEY VERY DISAPPOINTED THIS IS NOT EQUAL HOUSING OPPORTUNITY

Very disappointing they dont know how to conduct this buisness they lie about many things...Meagan Graham is among them and she lied about us getting a rental and giving it to someone else and also giving us the run around the whole day until the afternoon telling us the rental was no longer available. Dont do business with this company they dont do things in a tinely fasion they make you wait weeks for them just to push a button to accept your app. Meagan lied to us and covers up and makes us look like the bad guys

These guys are the typical slump lords. They take forever to process any files, hidden charges, and they will do the bare minimum to keep the place running. It’s is beyond hard to request any kind of maintenance from them. Just stay away from these people.

We live next to one of their rental properties. And one other tenants has been harassing us for over a month and they wont do anything about it even with a police report. This company needs to start take responsibility for their tenants actions if theyre not going to take care of the problem.
