This place is awesome. It really cares enough about people to help them rather than try and keep them hostage. The food is decent and they have a place where you can sleep. They also provide resources such as rental assistance, food pantry, medical assistance, ECT.

Tent city was without a doubt the best decision that Ive made to better my self. Yes there were cold nights but the people and ...well I could go on and on. Surely God has his blessing over tent city. Im a better man.

Me and my family have been on this program for a little over 10 years and we had no problems. every helper we had was so nice and helpful. we recently had a new person and her name is devin. she is TERRIBLE. if you get her please ask for someone else. she is judgmental, rude, and not helpful. shes putting bad light on the program.

No better place for helping the homeless population. Many housing programs available. Daily food kitchen. Huge food panty to stock up for the month. Showers and laundry available. So very many services available.

Even in the midst of a pandemic these amazing people are still working constantly to make sure no one goes hungry. They are here 3 days a week in the food bank filling carts with much needed food and sanitizing afterwards for two shifts. I am in awe of these phenomenal people.

Lockers can be borrowed but they have to be cleared out by 3 pm. They have showers, washers and dryers. Their address can be used for personal/official mail. Casa de Peregrinos food pantry is in the same building serving the homeless as well as people in need. There are electrical outlets outside the building. The Las Cruces city government has a program where the needy/homeless can work picking up trash/light maintenance for 5 hrs once each week; the pay is $55.

This place has really helped me turn my life around. I was homeless for almost a year before I came here. They got me into an apartment, and help me with literally anything I may need help with. I know they are always there for me. Its such a great asset to our community. I give back and donate everything I can to help them as much as they helped me. Anything you may need help with, they are there for you.

If youre looking for help because of medical issues DONT go here...the only way you qualify for help is if youre a Vet (which is good) or so determined to be walking disaster....and 1 or 2 of the staff should seek some sort of mental help themselves. The only reason I bothered giving it one star is because you have to to review.

The staff at Missilla Valley Community Services for the homeless are very threatening. A lot of the threats are physical threats. They have said they were felons. After 7 am, Feb. 23 I was threatened by two men at the booth to camp hope(tent city). Threats were made such as false accusations(discriminatory speech), robbery, etc. One repetitive false accusation was that I pointed in his direction with my finger from a small opening in my tent from 50 yards away. When I went to charge my phone I was threatened by a man a woman who used profanity etc. I was finally able to plug in my phone in the so-called TV lounge where two other men were lying down with eyes closed. The man who falsely claims he is security as part of what these felons call a safety team. Threatened me with profanity(abusive language), he did not say his full name, smoked at and inside the booth, made false accusations by lying about the state statutes etc. in an attempt to have me robbed, ejected, etc.During this freedom of speech argument, which they were not excercising because of the threats, and they are felons who said they were on parole, one man who was inside the tent threatened by using profanity, false accusations of approaching someone when I went around him and the booth to see a disorganized list.According to the rules anyone can be ejected.(asked to leave for the use of profanity immediately especially if used frequently). These men have used profanity frequently.Aliases being used as bed numbers and different names, only first names on most etc.The manager of camp hope threatened me with numerous threats which included physical threats such as he would kill me. He has been using several aliases by changing his name on the list board. My volume was moderate when he conspired with another felon who was making false accusations (repetitive) this morning with one from the lounge using profanity. He was smoking methamphetamines etc. in the pantry/kithcenette. I was also about 25 feet away from them to refute the false accusations.I said my full name again and he took a while to say one of his aliases of Steve Arias. My volume became lower as he approached and I made my complaints again verbally. Then we went over to the list board on the outside of the booth. I mentioned his name was changed from Steve Space no. from Steve ? #no. andhe said prior during this conversation Steve Arias. He began to intimidate me by shoving his his finger and fist about an inch or two from my face. These men have said they were felons on parole. The woman said she was a felon. The pantry/kithcenette was empty of others. This may be considered crimes of gang conspiracy due to the level and scope of violence which includes possibly human trafficking of children for sexual abuse. They have said child sexual abuse, and children are cared within the buildings and camp hope(tent city).Rehibilitary halfway housing and treatment are provided by the counceling center on 125 S. Main Street, and rehibilitary programs from the salvation army.Abusive language can be violent and/or aggressive etc.Driscriminiatory language can be conspiratory, disruptive, hatefully biased etc. While Matt Mercer was around during the same day, he walked towards me threateningly, and made false accusations to have one of his conspirators threaten me with the words death. This man was one of the same men threatenening me from early this morning. He is a man who is about 5 ft 7 in 250 lbs, tan complexion, grey beard, wears a ski cap and sometimes a red sweat shirt. He and another man with a tan complexion threatened me with weapons when I walked around them about 3 feet away to check on my tent and keep track of my recarging phone. The shorter man verbalized his threats with a drill, and the taller man said he would stab me in the back with his hand on his knife. They blocked my path to my tent in front of the booth and near the lounge where there is a power recharging pad.About five min after while the taller man came back from banging on a shed he tried to hit me w/ a hammer.

I can not even begin to detail all the holes this organization this fills in the city. Community of Hope is exactly that and its truly a blessing to see this co operation among community members, and to see the volunteers that help and it really does fill a need that quite honestly no one else wants to do. Its a good place to come together, if you like me feel that las cruces is getting too big too fast then maybe you too can come on in and lend a little help. Do what you can but do it organized. Now I encourage you, please if your considering volunteering some time or making a donation to a worthy cause this is surely it. They do alot for the people that are forgot. There are many facets to their operations so be sure to look into it where you may want to include yourself, i was involved in some events at their campus on amador and a veteran support event in the city, enjoyed every moment.
