Most honest and through mechanic shop I have ever encountered.

Honest. Another mechanis told me I needed $400 of maintenance. Here a gentleman told me I didnt need one done before another 20,000 miles and the other before another 70,000 miles. I appreciate the honesty and will be coming here for future car maintenance and repairs.

These guys wont help you all they want is money. Ditch this money hungry shop and go somewhere else. Its not worth the bad experience

Working for THE BOSS...which is revelant of whom i refer too was one of the profitable years of my career in automotive industryI do recall we at the time strived to perform the best customer orriented techniques which began up front greeted with a captioning smile. Then the professional s . tech would perform their diag repair and finalize. With test driveWith a minimal Gesture of just cleaning the windshield customer knew that quality and proffesionalism has no Price.

So I just want to thank the team over at Bairds Automotive for helping my girlfriend and her aunt out. They are traveling cross country to move her back home from AZ to MI. She had an engine light come on about 4 hours into the drive and they stopped in NM for the night. After looking at some reviews she decided to take it here. Not only did they get her in for a diagnosis that same day (every dealership said Friday was the earliest the could see her) they were able to find out that the fuel injector has gone bad. They ordered her a new one for the next day so she can continue her trip home. It’s hard to not be able there to go over stuff with here when it comes to this but I’m glad I felt comfortable trusting them to give her a fair price and in a very impressive timely manner. I work in the auto industry and it’s hard to trust dealer service departments in any aspect imo. Just want to thank Greg for helping her out and if all goes well she will be heading home tomrorow afternoon. Thanks for being great people!

Worst experience Ive ever had. The mechanics seem to not care about the interior of my car. They left oil stains on the roof and floor. On top of that they couldnt figure out what was wrong with my car after working on it for over a month. I wouldnt let them work on any of my cars if they paid me. Unprofessional staff.

Be aware, NOT HONEST! I was driving through Las Cruces and found out I have a power steering fluid leak. I looked on line and Bairds had good reviews. I called, and they said to bring it in. I thought it would be something minor, but to my surprise, they said I needed a new rack and pinion assembly. They quoted me a price of $1200. I decided not to do it, and I drove the car like this for over 2 months. Last week, I noticed that the leak got worse, so I took it to a local shop in the Cleveland, OH area. I told them that I thought Id need a new steering rack, but they wanted to check for themselves. They called me back and said the repair will cost $99! There was just a leak from one of the lines, so the line needed replacing.

Untrustworthy.Decided to give them a try so I brought my vehicle in for diagnosis. Check engine light was on, brake light was on, and occasional noise coming from front axle.Upon picking up my vehicle, they did not check what codes were causing my “service engine” light, did not check my brakes or could tell me if they needed fluid, brake pads, rotors, etc. They disassembled my 4wd hub, and let me drive away with the cv axle completely loose and free hanging. I had to research YouTube videos and re install the internal portions of my 4wd hub at home. (Took me about 15 min)They charged me $225 in labor. They should be ashamed of themselves, I will warn everyone to stay away from “Baird’s automotive”

I made an appointment a week in advance with the understanding that my vehicle would be looked at that day, I would receive a call about an estimate, and my clutch would be able to be replaced that day or the next day. This is what the mechanic told me at least. None of it turned out to be true. I called at least 5 times over the three day period they had my vehicle only to finally be told that they were unable to complete any work due to the age and inability to source parts (they knew the age when I booked the appointment). I made it abundantly clear at the time of scheduling how it important it was that I got my vehicle back as soon as possible and was assured it would be done before the day I absolutely needed it. Now I am forced to reschedule my cross country move because their ability to complete work and maintain the timelines they set is abysmal. I understand that there are times when it takes longer than expected to diagnose the problems with a vehicle. But it is unfathomable that it took three days to determine that they were incapable of performing the necessary repairs and that I had to repeatedly contact them in order to get updates on my vehicle that has been with them far longer than the expectation that THEY set.

Bairds also provides shuttling if you need to be taking to work or home, which is just wonderful! I was personally in for an oil change and was out in forty minutes and the price was to my knowledge unbeatable 35 dollars is all I paid! Stop in, & Im sure you wont be sorry. Expensive even for car repair. But they do the job right on the first go. No hidden costs from surprise repeat visits. They are great to deal with on a personal level. Its hard for my broke self to afford it. But its harder for me to trust anyone else.

My brother and I were n a trip across country in an 86 Ford motor home when the throttle cable broke about 150 miles west of Las Cruses, NM. We rigged up a coat hanger throttle and limped into Las Cruses to find the one and only cable within 100 miles. I asked the store clerk, “if they were spending their own money to have this part installed where would they go”. The answer was Baird’s. This auto repair shop is now in my top 3 anywhere. They are beyond professional, knowledgeable, fair and honest. We had the cable installed within an hour and were on our way for $72. It doesn’t end there either. I received a call from the shop a few minutes later as we were getting on I-10 to let us know we were losing oil and they were concerned and would we please return. 6 quarts of diesel oil later and about 15 minutes and we were back. Whether or not Baird’s caused the sending line to crack we will never know however what I do know is that they took immediate responsibility for it, got the small fitting, fixed the problem, replaced the oil and had us going again within the hour. When we tried to pay them for the service, the response from the shop manager Lee Walker was NO, get going and have a safe trip. We tried again to pay them at least for the oil and he would have none of it. We live in Florida however if we lived in Las Cruses, Baird’s automotive would be my go to service center for life. It is easy after the fact to see why they have been in business over 30 years. THANK YOU to Lee Walker and to Baird’s Automotive for being a stellar example of honesty and fair service. The guys at Bairds are super friendly. I used to go to the quick in and out oil change places for maintenance. They always told me I needed some other service (transmission flushes and random stuff like that) and my car gave me trouble constantly. Since I have been going to Bairds for maintenance I havent had an ounce of trouble, and they havent tried to sell me any unnecessary services.

My husband is restoring a 1985 380 SL Mercedes and uses Bairds for services he does not have the equipment to tackle! They are reliable and provide excellent service at an affordable rate!

We just left this God-send business and was truly blessed. As we are traveling through this city of Las Cruces, NM, our vehicle ran hot and left us on the side of the road in panic. We have 6 more hours until our destination and 15 hours from our home. Our first call to a repair shop quickly and rudely said that they cant help us. We called Baird and the lady quickly comforted us by saying that they always strive to help travelers with unexpected and unfortunate car issues. After getting our vehicle towed to their shop, we wete set and ready to go in 2 hours. Great service. He tells you exactly what is wrong with your car and fixes it.

Let me start. They are not cheap. But they do very good work. Weve had several jobs done there, from brakes to replaced radiators. One overheating problem that was puzzling turned out to be a defective fan vice a defective water pump (labor intensive). They correctly diagnosed the fan, and we ended up with a less costly repair which was a correct diagnosis. So far, I trust them. I even do my oil changes there so they can keep an eye on my car, and it costs half that of Jiffy Lube. Plus, I dont end up with additional repairs for things that werent broken when I brought the car in to get the oil changed. So I think they are trustworthy. My experience, and I find them trustworthy and knowledgeable.

I love this place. It is hard to find a mechanic that I trust but Baird has a really great reputation and is one of the most trusted in Las Cruces. If I still lived in the area, it would be the only place I would trust with my vehicle. Around Christmas, while I was visiting my check engine light went on. I asked them to check it out for me and it was a simply problem that I had had another mechanic fix in Roswell. They would have fixed it but told me i should take it back to the other mechanic and make him fix it. They could have fixed and charged me for it but didnt. They do tend to be a bit higher in price but for a sound mind and their honesty, it is well worth it.

Awesome place all-you-can-eat for 10 dollars and some change plus tip dont forget to tip the all-you-can-eat sirloin steak and shrimp is awesome.

Broke down on road trip with my daughter just outside Las Cruces NM Bairds treated us so well .Even took us to the local mall while my car was being repaired.4 stars because of the price . but still job well done .We finished our trip . made it back home safe

I went here based on the reviews on Google and yelp. Car passed the 100,000 mile mark and needed a place for an honest assessment of what I needed done on my daily driver. The service I got at Baird was what I needed and hoping for. I dropped off my car and received a call back about 2 hours later. It was all good news and nothing major was needed, just an oil change and air filter. They could have told me I needed much more and taken advantage of me and my ignorance with cars. But instead I got a no BS assessment and left with a smile. Ill be a return customs for sure and will recommend to anyone asking for a good honest mechanic.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. They stole $300 worth of stuff from my boyfriends car and continuously denied it and basically told him he’s out of luck, they said they have no cameras to check and how convinent is that for them? They said “if it was that valuable to you, you shouldn’t have left it in the car” and “that’s like leaving a stack of money and expecting no one to take it” they are theifs and should not be operating a business. PROCEED WITH CAUTION.

I had the radiator for my van fixed about 6 month ago at this place. Just recently all of the sudden the radiator started leaking because of a clamp failure that was holding one of the hoses connected to the radiator. Long story short, I called them in the morning and by the afternoon my van was fixed and free of charge. It is nice to still have people of integrity in this world!

Finally, Ive found a honest and reliable automotive shop. They stand by their name!

Went to bairds because my engine light came on. Code threw something to do with bad oil pressure. Fixed that, but told me “there is a small noise coming from your front end, your top ball joints are shot and your bottom ones are about to go.” They said they could do it for $1000!I knew I could do it myself so I decli ned and went and bought the ball joints I wanted. Took the ball joints out to be replaced and they were perfectly fine. The top ones seemed brand new, and the bottom ones had about 90% life left. I went ahead with the upgrade. The noise kept getting worse. The noise they were hearing was actually my front driveshaft’s bearing was about to fall apart.They do good work just be careful and get a second opinion. I like to be able to trust what my mechanic says.

They had my car in their shop for a week before they decided to try to look for the cars problem under the hood. The mechanics spent 3 days driving my car to try to find the problem and didnt call to update me, as they hadnt been doing anything. The mechanics there were very nice, but I felt taken advantage of. I have since taken my car back, but have yet to hear an actual diagnosis as to what is wrong with my car.

Used to be a big fan, but if you cant tell the difference and loss of power when a V8 runs like a 6 cylinder after 2 burnt spark plug wires are found.... there is something wrong.

I was moving cross country and had vehicle issues. The staff here took my truck in got my rusted on fuel filter replaced and got me back on the road so I could make it to my destination without having to stay the night. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Meant to do this sooner. Had to get a car worked on and I was 300 miles away. They could easily have taken advantage of me but did troubleshooting and found the problem quickly and were more than fair. Our family is sold on them.

This shop is unethical. Brought vehicle in for an estimate, they repaired it and refused to release it unless I paid $2100. I did not sign an authorization to repair, called several times asking whats taking so long with an estimate. Then show up to that. Not trustworthy place, will never go here again and theyre lucky I didnt sue! They took advantage of young college kids to make money.

T is hard to find a great honest mechanic. I was traveling from Florida to Arizona and my car broke down for the second time in Las Cruces NM right at the corner of Triviz but when I met Greg I felt comfortable. They had a lot of cars to services but seeing I was out of town they worked me in. Unfortunately the parts werent available so I stayed the night in Las Cruces but he had an employee take me to my hotel after helping me find a good one.The next day they got the parts put it on but the car was still doing the same thing. So they took off the parts and we concluded it must be the engine. I called Mazda they couldnt see me for a week so Greg suggested I rent a car so I can take all my stuff and leave the car there for a while until I figure out what I want to do with it. I MEAN HOW AWESOME IT THAT!!!! Greg even sent Theresa his employee to pick me up from the hotel and take me to get the rental. I mean grade A service. I am so thankful I broke down at that corner!Of course he charged me for labor but its a business I understand. I paid 150 instead of 600 which it would have been with the parts and labor. Im fine with that.I am 2 hours away and would prefer to drive all the way back there to NM and see him for car work in the future instead of trying to find another mechanic. Its hard to find a honest mechanic. I recommend Baird to anyone riding through to stop there and get your oil changed or work done and if you live in Las Cruces or close by this should be your new mechanic. period.Lee was my favorite he is the Service Manager who was from AZ so we chatted the longest about what I could do in AZ just great great people.
