I have always had a good experience. Been going there for 20 years. Always helpful and patiently answer any questions. I prefer the post office rather than other shipping/mailing places. It is reassuring to go in and see the same familiar people and know I will be taken care of.
I just did a quick search for a notary near me and the Lapeer post office came up as an option. Not an option. I mentioned it at the front desk and no one seemed to know what was going on with that, so get your paperwork notarized elsewhere.
They have such great staff here. Even when they’re busy, they move people through kindly and quickly
Its hard to adequately review this PO since the office is excellent with services and customer relations, but the mail carrier is careless. I cater to her and not vice versa. I even made it so the carrier need not come up my long drive and can deliver near the road. What happened to customer service? Yes, I order a lot of packages, but thats my right and its the POs job to handle them responsibly and carefully. My items arrive bent and mishandled. Please care about your job and do better.
Postal clerks are very helpful. You can drop off mail in drive by box or many mail slots in entrance. Seldom a long wait to mail packages or buy stamps.
Mail carriers show up on the days they want. (Flag up on my box since yesterday, saw them pass yesterday, they did not stop at my box) Take outgoing mail whether scheduled or not when they want and consistently deliver mail to the wrong house. Carriers typically have poor attitudes when interacted with lacking customer service skills.
Why doesnt the USPS drop Saturday deliver of mail to cut their costs so they dont have to keep raising their rates. People should be able to get along within Saturday mail delivery. We too have received terrible service during this past year, but especially around the holidays and with the COVID-19 Virus situation. - MSUSam

Whoever worked the Hunters Creek trailor park in Lapeer MI on 4/6/20 took over an hour to do 15 mailboxes because she kept making phone calls and texting and she wouldnt even let anyone just get their mail until she was done! That woman should be fired. I waited an hour and a half to get my mail from the mailboxes she started on to begin with. My 3 month old son could do her job faster.
They are very dependable when it comes to delivering junk mail and Bills, but they lost the last two out of four orders from Amazon. Not a great record for the pay and retirement benefits they get.
Love all the staff here! They know me by name because Im in so often. They are all very friendly and so very helpful!
The lapeer associates are friendly and efficient. I just wish this branch had a parcel kiosk for after hours shipping.
Always my favorite Post Office to go to! So glad they are open till 6pm, cuz I work till 5. The hours are very convenient and the staff are super helpful!! Jack or Rich usually help me. Theres a young woman clerk there as well with reddish hair (I cannot remember her name sadly) but also very helpful! This USPS is usually pretty busy and will do whatever they can to make their customers happy!
Edit: Since my poor review had been made, Ive not had any issue with my service in Lapeer / Columbiaville.Lazy lazy lazy. I live 3 miles outside of the village of Columbiaville. I have a rural carrier, not a postal carrier truck. Ive complained to the Lapeer office about how lazy my carrier is. The Columbiaville post has no power over the carriers. I have no gripe with them. To deliver a package, they stop once at the mailbox. Leave a notice. Nothing wrong with my driveway. I have an enclosed back porch with a note that says to leave deliveries inside door. Now Im faced with 3 packages that were never delivered. Having lots of fun tracking them down between Lapeer & Columbiaville. Nevermind that I also work full time.
Worst USPS location I’ve ever experienced. Constantly missing packages, they never leave a note giving a reason why they didn’t deliver. I pay for amazon prime and continuously have to schedule redeliverys because for some unknown reason, USPS marks our driveway as “blocked”. I live in Michigan, it snows. I understand when there’s a storm, but the weather is generally decent when they decide not to deliver. Contacted the postal service themselves and they were rude to me. Bill told me to expect to see my packages in the spring. Extremely unprofessional, no sense of concern for customers. Amazon is great with trying to make it up to me, however, the packages simply never get delivered. During the summer months, we had issues with USPS practically giving our packages to our puppy when she was tied up outside and she would tear them apart. No refund. Very, very poor service. Nobody is held accountable. Today, for example, I was expecting a redelivery and when it didn’t come, I called the post office and they told me my packages were waiting for me at the post office. The carrier did not even attempt to take them with her and deliver them today. I would pay double the price to have UPS or FedEx deliver my packages. Never had an issue with USPS until we moved. I would give less than 1 star if it were an option.
Its not that far of a walk from parking lot toThe front doors. As posted from a previous person.. I wouldnt call that a hill. Come on!!! Its a little dip thats inclined and declined properly. Everyone is helpful and nice. The grounds are kept in great shape. Always smells great and is ckean.

I give the Post Office a 5 star for staff, they are so nice .the BIG BUT is the location, terrible who ever built the post office in that location should be fired .you have to walk down hill to get to the doors, than it is a struggle to go back up hill to get back to your car .This is Michigan our weather changes all the time I use another post office unless the weather is good and I feel like a nice walk. Just a terrible design from parking lot to doors
Leaving a yellow envelope demanding .20 cents and refusing to deliver my package is ridiculous! After placing the .20 cents in envelope, my package shows up 4 days later! EXTORTION! Your job is to deliver packages on time! Heres an idea, if all of the postage amount wasnt paid, DONT ACCEPT THE PACKAGE FROM THE SENDER! You are true IDIOTS!
The usps mail people are just pure lazy, they take forever to deliver n then they dont even do that right, ive been waiting for a package they finally said it was delivered I check the box nothing there,BIG SUPRISE someone else will probably end up with my stuff thats how well the usps mail ppl do there job.THANKS ALOT FOR ANOTHER HEADACHE THIS TIME OF YEAR .
Worst possible customer service ever experienced in any post office. The clerk Rich was a complete idiot when I was speaking to him on the phone about a USPS policy that he was unaware of as he claimed “I know the policies” and then he hung up on me. Don’t even bother with the postmaster Corwin as he seems as concerned as Rich as taking care of the customer. Avoid this location at all costs.
Horrible service. Lady never even tries to deliver a package. Ive been home and witnessed her just passing by and not even attempt to deliver. This had been ongoing for 9 years. They need new employees.
Lazy, lazy, lazy. The mail carriers get paid good money but they are so lazy. Tired of the USPS. I wish all my packages would be shipped through FedEx. They always get the package to me on time. Amazon guarantees two day shipping but the USPS rarely gets it there on time. They never leave a slip saying that they tried to deliver a package either. I always have to spend a bunch of time trying to figure out why my package wasnt delivered when it was supposed to be. Also, get a phone number that works so people can call and get ahold of someone. They need to start doing what they get paid for at the lapeer office.Its a year later and Im giving an update. Today I was supposed to have a package with multiple items delivered. I watched the carrier go to the mailboxes but not deliver my package that was scheduled for delivery today. The service is still terrible. This happens just about every time they are scheduled to deliver something. Its not delivered on time and usually multiple days later. Not all USPS locations are like this. I never had a problem before I moved. I wish every item I bought was shipped via UPS or Fedex. I love their service- Always on time and great employees.

After a 2 day state of emergency declared by our gov. the mail ran yesterday 2/1/2019 The tracking for 2 packages said out for delivery, no tracks by mailbox, out going mail was not picked up, no note in mailbox, no reason for no service, tracking says Delivery Attempted - No Access to Delivery Location I ask WHY?
Had mail forwarded while on vacation But only get some mail. Geez, Govt employees, not surprised!

If they are given the opportunity to mess things up, they will, small packages that would fit in the mailbox get thrown in front yard, packages too big for mailbox get stuffed in. And if it isnt stuffed in our mailbox, or thrown in the front yard, its dropped off at the neighbors house.
Always sending my mail to someone elses mailbox never get it even when the address is right.

If I could give zero stars I would some of the mail carriers are extremely lazy they have push back a package delivery twice in two weeks because its to cold but yet they have heat in the mail trucks its ridiculous I just feel bad for people that their meds though the mail
