It was the late at night and I was in crisis, I’ve had a history of suicidal tendencies but I decided I wanted to help myself. I went there because it said they had a crisis center open where I could just talk to someone for the night and maybe feel better until I could get a regular therapist. But I did not have insurance at the time, I begged them to just let me speak to someone, I was in desperate need of help and I didn’t want to be admitted to the hospital if it was preventable at this time. They refused and said they couldn’t help anyone without insurance. Tell me how that’s a community service if it’s only for the wealthy. What a waste of a place. For a bigger city then where I’m from, I expected more progressive businesses.

First let me start off with its not all bad. My theripst is great! On the other hand the rest of the staff and doctors are horrible! They treat you like your not important, hang up on you and constantly push back your appointments.I have had to reschedule or push back my appointment numerous times because they dont have their things together. I have expressed my thoughts and feelings and told please dont call back unless you have a different concern, please please dont.I understand they are short staffed and only have so many funds. THIS SHOULD BE NO WAY TO TREAT YOUR PATIENTS! NO MATTER WHAT!! Im sorry but I am so fed up with them. I have tried to give them the benefit of the doubt.I will be looking for a new place to go!

I called just to find out if they accept McLaren Medicaid or not so I can make an appointment for somebody I ended up pressing zero to talk to an operator and she didnt give me a chance to say anything hardly she hung up on me. Very unprofessional!

Nearly all of the staff here is rude, unprofessional, and condescending. Not to mention the doctors have tried prescribing me medications that are listed in my charts as dangerous for my body. Every time I have an appointment they neglect to send me the information to connect to the telehealth appointment, or my doctor is out of the office despite having appointments scheduled and will not even call to reschedule before I arrive at the office. I have been court ordered to see this office and a therapist as well and because of their negligence, I could be hospitalized long-term despite that not being in my best interest.

Bridges and the crisis unit is a joke I went in last week to get re assessed for new Oakland which is a great place and when I got to the crisis unit they told me they couldnt do that because I wasnt out of new Oakland long enough and that they could get me into bridges and that they had 2 beds open but it was to late for me to go get a covid test and to come back in the morning and I would get in so I went back in the morning and they told me the beds were full and to call back every day and there should be a opening within a day or two and now Im on day 6 of calling and was just told to try again on Tuesday (its Saturday today) which is the day of my fathers funeral its like they dont take you serious about you wanting help.

I receive services here and truly believe they offer exceptional care! Although I’ve never been in a crisis situation my mental heath has deteriorated multiple times and both my case managers I’ve had in the span of treatment, Maria and Rebecca, have been phenomenal in providing resources, plans, etc. The nurses in Team 1 are by far my favorite they always make sure I’m taken care of even when I feel “well” and am not compliant with medications they will call and remind me the benefits of coming in! Because of community mental health I am able to live a pretty independent life now whereas before I was highly dependent on my family for care. Thank you!!

I tried to do the right thing for myself and come here for services. During my intake I stated I needed therapy and to get back on my medication for my condition. At intake I was told I could receive therapy but not medication as they dont have a Dr that can prescribe them. I agreed therapy was better than nothing and set up an appointment. During my first appointment I find out they do in fact have a dr to prescribe meds, so great I thought. The lady I was scheduled to see was pregnant and when she took leave I was assigned to someone else, no problem because thats understandable. So far so good right? Nope, this is where it went poorly. I saw my original counselor three times and during those three visits absolutely nothing was accomplished because she was leaving. I was not referred to another counselor therapist, I was referred to a case manager who couldnt do anything for me. After two ten minute visits with this case manager I was advised to look elsewhere for services because in her words we dont have anyone that can help you with what you need. Now explain to me how an agency that serves three counties in one building doesnt have enough therapists or counselors to help. I realize the mental health system in Michigan isnt in the best of shape but this just seems like cmh is using that as a crutch to justify the mismanagement and mistreatment of the mentally ill within the counties they serve. I also feel that this is bordering on malpractice and is most definitely failing those in need here in the lansing area. Fortunately Im able to just let it go and live with my mental illness going untreated, but there are many many others who can not and this agency is failing them. Some accountability from this place is needed badly.

Well. I sent my son there for almost two yrs .but not just in this place other places i send him to all the same. I dont feel like my son getting help he need he need get retested with real problem he got .what therapist ask my grandma or stranger ask him same stuff for free. . its like how are you helping the kid. Thats why i do every two weeks instead of every week. Im about to change it every 3 weeks. My son still act the same.

My caseworker kiesha did absolutely nothing for me and i got stuck with her for a week. Basically just provide meals and a place to stay here. There are a couple exceptional staff members that really care but also a few that are just collecting checks and dont care at all. It was sad to watch people suffer that dont have the ability to advocate for themselves.. smh :(

Went into the crisis center to seek some help and/guidance first time. As I am struggling financially they helped set me up with insurance and an appointment with one of their therapists. A couple days later I go into the general entrance to meet for my appointment. The receptionist was very unprofessional, no acknowledgement, and gave me the overall impression to me that she can just sit in a chair all day doing nothing while being paid for it. After waiting in the lobby over half an hour without anyone telling me anything, I got up and walked out. They called me back about a month later and arranged another appointment, so I agreed to meet up again. This time, as I sort of expected the same experience I firmly, but politely encouraged the lady to be of help and was able to meet with the therapist who called me. After the third visit there, I was able to make some progress with getting started into the treatment I am seeking. The therapists I spoke to were very professional however, and I greatly appreciate their assistance. They insisted I made a formal statement about my experience as I described above and I did. This gives me the impression I am not the first to complain about this receptionist. In good faith, I changed my review to reflect the accuracy of my experiences here. There are people there who will help you, but its really off putting when the first person you see when you walk in there doesnt seem to care about what they are doing there at all. Hopefully that changes.

A few years ago I was under their care for problems I was having, the staff never helped me in any meaningful way. I did learn a valuable lesson that people like these are parasites who live off the misfortune of others to line their own pockets and I have worked ever since at surrounding myself with a better quality of people than those who I met through this place and it has worked. Skip this place and go find a real Doctor that can help you better yourself and not just keep you showing up so they get their insurance kickbacks.

This place is terrible! We had my mom waiting to get a placement from the ER for over a week.. we had 3 petitions in and they sent her to CMH and after 10 minutes with a doctor there, they sent my suicidal mother home who openly admitted to a CMH worker that she is suicidal and overdoses on her meds. Shame on you CMH!!!

Its disgusting in in the rooms one or maybe more has food particles on the walls and milk spoiled on chair & wallpaper coming off

From a friend who needed some help and the first thing they want to know is what your insurance is. There are people struggling to make ends meet and most are luck enough to have any insurance at all.Wtf are people to go when everything else fails? My friend was told the insurance didnt help with mental health. So they ended up sending my friend on a run around, goose chase. No one wanted to help. So friend keeps fighting this battle. It breaks my heart to see anyone struggle this much and no help. Community Health a damn joke unless you got money.

I knew I needed help. My folks and I were trying to get me diagnosed for months if not years and they did a test or two and got me diagnosed. Keep up the great work!!!!

When I was admitted there for a few days, the counselors were there ANY time I need to talk. Pretty much 24-7. They saved my life. If it were not for them and their staff, I would not be here for my kids, getting my bachelors from MSU. I cry as I write this because it reminds me of what almost happened. Thank You CMH!!

The brilliant staff let my suicidial daughter escape through 3 ‘locked ‘ doors out into he night wearing only a paper gown and socks. When the police found her 2 days later they called and asked if she was to be brought back for further treatment/ evaluation the supervisor of the crisis area actually told them she had been discharged!!! That’s your version of a discharge???? Total clown show and unreliable, untrustworthy, incompetent staff!!! Would not allow my dog to be ‘cared for’ there!!!

I had the privilege of working on the new building the staff seem pretty helpful

They dont take private insurance, so therefore they dont care if you kill your self, if you have private insurance now, I understand why people find much easier for people to get guns and just kill people. Places like this are why theyre mass shooting.
