Between two dogs and two cats over a period of about 10 years, I have become very familiar with the Miller staff and the practice. They are hard working and genuinely care about our animals. We recently had to put our cat down, and they were especially accommodating and courteous through the painfully sad ordeal. In recent years, Dr. Sharpies has been an excellent communicator and we always feel like she takes the time to explain our pets’ conditions thoroughly to us. We trust Miller and feel good knowing our pets have a great health provider right here in town.

My parents have taken their pets here since the 1980s, I have taken all of my pets here as well for emergency treatment, annuals and boarding. Professional, caring staff that has always been helpful. Boarding costs are very competitive and I know my pets are in good hands. I prefer their booked appointments over the free-for-all it used to be as now you know your wait time wont be overtly long.

Im in utter shock! Ive been taking my cats here for years and never had any issues before today! Found one of my cats had a bloody, swollen shut eye when I came home from work! Called them immediately. We were forced to go on hold for 20 minutes instead of being allowed to explain our emergency. When we were finally taken care of, we were told all the doctors were gone and to wait and call tomorrow to MAYBE get in. No compassion. No apology. Im sorry, but I know they used to have an emergency vet on call, what happened?! I cant wait overnight for something that can permanently damage my pet! We were told to take him to MSU if we couldnt wait. THEY were great and declared that his case was indeed something SOMEONE needed to see right away in case of trauma!Ill only continue here because of Dr. Kooney and how he is with my cats. He genuinely cares. After theyre gone, no more!

This place used to be good. It’s now a complete disaster. Called twice today concerning a test and if positive I would get medication. The reason I called twice is that I live 40 minutes away. Told if I got there before 3 pm they would have enough time for test and send me home with medication. Got there at 1 pm. Left with no test results and “if the results are positive you can come back tomorrow for the meds”. Sure everybody can just take a 1/2 day off work to come get meds... plus the 1/2 today. Time for a new vet.

Miller Animal Clinic has been seeing all three of our pets for a few years now. I cant say enough about how wonderful their staff is. I have called for the most odd-ball requests and they always seem eager to help in any way they can.I also enjoy going there to see Dr. Copeland. She has a blunt, honest, yet caring personality and is willing to go the extra mile just to ensure your pet is doing well. Our cat had surgery there earlier this year and experienced some delayed and rather severe bruising. Dr. Copeland not only performed the surgery, (which means she had to deal with me panicking, a lot..) but she also stuck with us all through the aftercare and follow up visits. When we brought her in for the bruising, Dr. Copeland ran every test possible without even charging us because she wanted to be absolutely positive nothing was wrong. Recently, our cat is experiencing more issues from a different matter and Dr. Copeland has been extremely patient, kind, helpful, and pulled some serious strings with other doctors to make sure we are doing everything we can to get things back on track. The only reason I rated this clinic as a 4/5 is because of the difficulty in communication at times. There have been multiple occasions where I have called and asked for one of our two doctors to call me back for days and days, still never receiving that call back.. Ive even addressed this matter with the office manager, (who was also wonderfully sweet), but nothing was resolved with that. It would be nice to be able to discuss small, quick matters like medication questions etc. with your trusted veterinarian without always having to bring them in for an appointment just to have a conversation. While we definitely hope that communication improves, we will still be taking our animals to see the wonderful people at Miller Animal Clinic as long as theyll have us. Trust me, I drive them nuts and they are still awesome every time!!

I dont bring my cat here anymore not because they arent ok at their jobs, its mostly because they over charged and they werent that friendly. Besides that I still fill my cats ongoing prescription here because its just easier that way, and I kid you not. EVERY single time I call they tell me when I should come get it and when I get here they never have it filled. Literally every time. They always say they didnt get it all the way filled. Im not sure what that really means considering if it was partially filled it shouldnt take 30 minutes to finish it. I called at 3:30 the day before and they said we will definitely have it filled by the am, I came it to get it at 2:30 the next day and sure enough... they didnt get it all the way filled. I gave the two stars because although I give them 1 star on their prescription filling, they get another because they did take decent care of my cat.

I have been with this clinic for 15 years. I still feel the veterianarians and veterinary technician are great. However, as of late, I have been very disappointed with the treatment I have received in the last few visits by the reception and management. I received no apology or recognition of error on their part for human error and was even told it was my fault; when in fact it wasnt. Mistakes happen, but as adults we admit and accept our errors, and as a business we apologize and rectify the situation, not pushing blame on the client. I have 10 animals, I will be finding a clinic that treats me more humanely and understands customer service.

Lengthy post, but my heart is so full of gratitude and appreciation for Dr. Drysdale and everyone who works here. They literally saved my dog’s life. My puppy was having trouble breathing a week after we got him. We didn’t have a vet for him yet, but Miller happened to be close to us so we took him there. They were able to triage him in without an appointment. They did some tests and determined that he needed 24 hour supervision, and since they don’t have staff available around the clock, Dr. Drysdale sent him to another emergency clinic who could monitor him more closely. We spent about a week unsure if he would survive, and this other emergency clinic would not give us any information or even return our many phone calls. He was put on medication by the other clinic, and on the day of his last dose, he bit into a capsule and spilled the contents on the floor. Panicked, we called back the other clinic and they said there was nothing they could do to help us replace the pill. I called Miller Animal Clinic And they had replacement medication ready for him in an hour. Even though they weren’t the ones who prescribed it, they were the only ones willing to step in and help. Then, the other clinic left me a voicemail one day, stating that my puppy had tested positive for several additional troubling and scary things. I immediately called the other clinic back for more information and they said they would call me back and they never did. I was sobbing in my car and unsure of what else to do, I called Miller Animal Clinic again for help and explained the situation because I was panicked, and convinced my dog was going to die. Dr. Drysdale remembered me and my dog and after I explained to him what the other clinic had said, he talked me through what it meant, calmed me down, and offered to call the other clinic to get my dog’s file sent over so he could be of more assistance. My puppy is doing great, and Dr. Drysdale has always been available to answer questions and give me information, never failing to ask how my puppy is doing and check in on him. He and the staff truly cared about my puppy’s wellbeing and it is obvious. I will never take him anywhere else. I cannot thank them enough.

I read online that a consent should be signed discussing the risks, benefits etc. of the surgery. They DID NOT have me sign one. Which means that if anything goes wrong they can deny the surgery ever took place in the first place. There is no one to call after hours which is concerning. I was placed on hold for the on call vet and no one ever answered. Not to mention the facility is old and procedures are outdated (they dont even have a laser for declawing). I would suggest that you never show up on time to your appointment because they always run late. One time I waited over an hour in the appointment room with no explanation. Last time I went in I asked if they were running on time today and they proceeded to tell me that the doctor wasnt even in the building yet... she was running a little late. Its ridiculous considering they have over 10 doctors. We also call this place the Mystery Vet because for some reason they are thrown off guard when you ask them about the price of something. As of late, I havent walked out without paying a couple hundred dollars each time. There is always a different price depending on the person checking you out. Lastly, when my Cat dislocated his leg we took him here. At first, we brought him in for an emergency and were told that we needed to wait... I demanded they take a look due to him level of pain and the tech told me that it looked like a vaccination reaction. I stayed and again demanded they take a closer look. His leg was dislocated at the growth plate! Dr. Grant recommended we take him to a place she knows well in Detroit. Im not sure if shes ever looked at a map but Flint is not Detroit. Nonetheless, the place in Flint was very low class care and wouldnt even allow me to stay with my cat. They said to drop him off and they will call later in the week. Im not going to just drop my Cat off in Flint. We ultimately cancelled the surgery and ended up taking him to MSU the next week for surgery. MSU evaluated the Xrays and took further Xrays to determine that he didnt need surgery, rather a splint. We saved over $4,000 and my Cats leg is better than ever. This place is overpriced and doesnt know how to properly schedule appointments to avoid long wait times. I would recommend calling ahead before your appointment and ask if theyre on time for the day... I always do.

I shopped around and the cheapest by far was miller animal clinic at about $850. Needless to say I was pretty happy, That is until now its 1:30 in the morning the night of surgery and my dog was released 8 hours after surgery with antibiotics and 4 Rimadyl 25 mg tablets taken once every 24 hours for pain. Upon call msu back as there the only clinic open at 1:30 they advised me that Rimadyl 25 mg table is like a 500 mg Tylenol for a person. I have gone into Miller twice and I dont think I will go there again. Somehow they always talk me into getting more tests and more medications even when I say no. Last time I brought in my dog because he had fleas and was experiencing some hair loss. They talked me into getting heart worm medication and flee medication and then cornered me into getting a test for my dog to see if he had heart worm so that he can safely start the treatment with the newest top of the line product available to keep him healthy. I drew the line finally when they were suggesting I give him steroids to alleviate the irritation caused from fleas. So long and short, I went in to Miller cause my dog had fleas and I came out with a $198 bill. The time before, they agreed to see my dog for a first time free check up after I got him from the pound and basically forced me to buy dewormer though the humaine society told me that they had given him dewormer. So they weighted him and talked with me for 15 minutes and basically charged me $40 for dewormer which I did not give him because I do not believe in giving my animals drugs for no practical reason. In addition to over-prescribing treatments, their service is neither timely nor what I understand as in the best interest of my pets. On average they have made every appointment that I have seen the vet on average 10-15 minutes at most into an hour long appointment composed of my time being wasted as I wait for someone to do anything.I dont know if this is normal for vets. I went to a vet back home once who after taking our dog in for symptoms that seemed awful (bloody diarrhea) and in return I was told to change the diet of my dog and amazingly he got better. I cant imagine Miller ever giving me advise like that. It is a shame I did not look on google maps earlier to see what other people had to say about them. It seems that other people had similar experiences.
