This is our family experience since January 27, 2017 to current time. I am sharing this information only because what we as family experience.NO WORDS can express the pain and suffering of our family, my son’s emotional disress and HARM it has cause to our family as result of Ryan Hannig creation of “Positice Practice” insist to continue this Positice Practice against our wishes at NTSD. As result it cost us financially as well as emotionally trying to prevent my son from trying to “do over”.Ryan Hannig, BCBA is contracted with NTSD as “District BCBA” and will ONLY do what he is contracted to do as his role as of January 27, 2017 to current date. My son has Autism and he has elopement Problem. Ryan Hannig came up with “positive practice, or do over. Going back to the onset...blocking. I BEGGED him not to be do this Positice Practice and he insist it is best practice. I asked for research and evident base to support his Behavior Intervention Plan and TIMBERLINE HIGH School refused. He is considered expert and Parents voice is really meaningless.I am writing to let you know what to expect when he is contracted with school district, he will ONLY do what school district pays him to do. After IEP meeting, he and Secondsry Special Education Director edit my son’s IEP without Parent present and emailing each other justifying 1982 research “research for positive practice, Here are good, classic texts for reference. We will want to highlight that we’re utilizing Positice Practice Foxx, R.M.(1982). Decreasing behaviors of severely retarded and autistic persons” (communication between Donnita Hawkins, Secondsry Special Education Director and Ryan Hannig, BCBA, September 18, 2017 at 3:51 PM). I felt this was unjust treatment. There is no transparency. Parents ask for Positice Practice evident base research on 9-15-2017 and Parents were told we will receive it but to this date never did. I was NEVER able to find any evident base research on Positive Practice. My story is our family experience with Imagine. We have endured so much emotional headache and stress with Positive Practice.Again no words can express the pain and suffering as result of Positice Practice. We felt there was lack of compassion from NTSD. Why no other options??The contract will dictate his role. I am so sadded because I have try to tell him how it is negatively impacting outisice of home. Refuse to listen to MaryBridge Chdren Behavioral Specialist. Finally on 9-15-2018 Ryan Hannig agree not to implement.I believe our experience is important to share so no other Parent has to go through what we had to go through. We are only sharing our experience and our perspective. You have freedoms to do what you wish. This website allows me to provide reviews and I truly believe it is important to share our experience. My greatest desire is that Imagine who is still contracted with NTSD listen and work with family. I would give 1 ⭐️ working with family. I would like to say he is friendly toward me, he smiles and seems like a really a nice person. I like him as a person but as professionally I would say he needs to work on moral rights of the student instead of his Contract. He also told us we would get get information about my son’s elopement documentation on 9-15-2018 from school staff. This is not happening. There is no follow up and no communication with Parents. He also did reading and math suggestions to school but he did not talk with Parents. He just give information to school. There is absolutely no collaboration and fidelity check. In addition, he did not support Parents getting meeting more frequent progress meeting when NTSD speaks to Parents (the (attitude, action, approach, and atmosphere). Ryan Hannig supports NTSD response on Prior Written Notice “Quarterly meetings to discuss IEP goals and behavior process is more then sufficient to meet Student’s needs and provide FAPE”. Ryan Hannig or IMAGINE company does NOT support parent meeting more frequently when my son has communication difficulties. Disclaimer, this review is our experience.
Your kid is just a number and a check to this company. They hire inconsistent therapists who are sick half the time. Not a great fit for families with more than one child in general. They also do not listen to what parents have to say about their own children.
