Best place I’ve been too so far.Of course skill sets of the therapist matters. My therapist is amazing, intuitive, patient, and extremely knowledgeable, and not pushy.Healing will always hurt - so be mindful of getting worse before it gets better. Not the cause of therapy, but the Process of.

They are horrible. They cant keep track of the pts they have going there. They charge you for things that your insurance covers and you have the proof it was covered, but they will still send you a bill and fight with you about said bill. All and all I would never recommend this place to anybody. Absolutely awful

Preferred Behavioral Health is a great place to seek psychiatric assistance and counseling! Their front desk staff is also very courteous and cooperative. SO far I have had very few problems with my my sessions at PBH.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Some of the worst mental health care Ive ever experienced. I can never get through on the phone, the only way I can reach office is by calling the new patient line. Medication management is in the office 1x a week...um, what? Not answering the phone and doctors only in the office once a week is not a good way to help people: what happens if someone is experiencing a serious mental health crisis and they need you but you arent there? Get it together Preferred BH, youre not helping people in their recovery, youre hurting them.

Absolutely horrible first experience. They tell me to be there at 7:30am. 2 days before my appointment I get an automated phone call asking me to confirm my 7:30am appointment. I show up at 7:30am. NOBODY IS THERE. Someone shows up at 7:45am and when I walk in behind her, she tells me “we don’t open until 8am. When I say I have a 7:30am appointment, she says “yes... they say that to everyone but we open at 8am.” I wish I would’ve done my research prior to making the appointment. If I could rate the zero stars, I would.STAY AWAY!!!

Very rude and misleading place. They play games with you and dont tell the truth at all. Rather get assistance from the health food store for my anxiety and panic attacks. This place only makes my problems worse. Would not recommend at all. Dont waste ur time. Life is too short for other peoples head games and nonsense.

Diagnosed with ADD 20 years ago when I was 13. Was failing in school as a youth but after diagnoses and stimulant treatment I went on to finish 4 degrees (including a Masters degree) with a GPA just shy of a 4.0. The diagnosis and treatment greatly improved my quality of life and well being. I have no criminal convictions, no history of heavy drug use, and have never been committed or anything for psychiatric reasons. My only diagnosis has been ADD. I went to Preferred Behavioral Health and saw Loretta Oguonu to attempt to continue my treatment, but Loretta was uninterested in hearing who my previous providers were, and failed to contact them. After speaking with her for about ten minutes she said that she wouldnt prescribe me any of the medications that I had been previously prescribed that I had found to work for me without issue. She said that the reason for this is that they are addictive medications. She said that she would be willing to prescribe Wellbutrin though. I had previously been on Wellbutrin and it didnt do anything for me, so I declined. Upon leaving she told the receptionist in the lobby that I didnt want to schedule any more appointments because he wanted something I wont give him which given the context of her profession and the circumstances, she was essentially accusing me of being a drug addict for attempting to get the medical treatment that Ive been given for over 20 years and which has worked. I reported her for a HIPAA violation through the appropriate government agency because she took what was said in an appointment in confidence and brought it up in the lobby in front of about ten people. After speaking with someone else there I rescinded my HIPAA complaint because I felt it could be addressed at a lower level. However, I was told during the complaint process that she was told by those higher up at Preferred Behavioral Health not to prescribe anyone any type of controlled substances, so they are closed to that despite any legitimate use you may have before you even get through the door. The center is financially motivated and brainwashed by their addiction/recovery services to treat and label everyone a drug addict that uses these medications which have been found by the medical community to be effective, and Loretta blatantly violated HIPAA with regard to her comment. I definitely do not recommend.

EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF! Hands down the worst experience I’ve ever had with a psychiatrists office! I’ve beyond had it with this place, no one ever answers the phones. I’ve called and called but always get voicemails. If they do finally answer it’s only to transfer you to someone else who doesn’t answer. I’ve gotten the run around on numerous occasions. Not to mention the people at the front desk have miserable attitudes and are rude to patients.

What is wrong with this place? People are trying to get help obviously if they are calling this place. I have had nothen but a nightmare dealing with this place, no one ever knows anything they lie, they are rude they dont return phone calls and play games with patients that are trying to find out info, even my doctors that they needed to get records from both had a hard time dealing with this place. Now this is the front desk, I had 1 intake so far and the doctor was very kind and understanding. I hope that the director of this place reads these reviews because its hard enough for people to reach out for help and when they do they have to deal with this. I am really thinking of reaching out to the state about this place its a shame hopefully the doctors are not this bad but that front desk is HORRIBLE..

I had asked to switch doctors, they didnt know how to do that and so I guess thats why they never helped me with the process... Ive also called on multiple occasions to reschedule or cancel appts and my therapist never gets the message then accuses me of missing appts. Honestly this place is frustrating and has made my anxiety much worse.

This place is awful. I was illegally discharged without my knowledge although I have severe depression and anxiety, the proper term is called “ patient abandonment) I did not receive any prior warning nor was my treatment concluded. The director of this facility does not care about his patients just himself, these people are only in it for the money since mental health is a lucrative buisness. Go to a private therapist for professional help.

In response to the comment made by a person who dropped someone off. Really, my thoughts would of been, oh it s break time. Allowing clients to have a smoke . gee that sounds trashy, that was the word you used. maybe between groups they can tie the clients up. Hows that sound. nah lets go with chains. Attending a mental facility is not an easy step. If it takes a smoke to calm or relax the clients well God bless themRobt

Came here for help after moving here. I ran out of my meds and all the numbers they gave me for emergency help with that just led me to voicemails and no one ever reaching me back. When it finally came time to have my appt with a psychiatrist, lady refused to look into my charts and refill my meds. Instead wanted to play the good old, lets switch your meds again. Ive already had my meds switched so many times in my life, its really frustrating not to even be heard, im the one who has to take the meds, so because everyone has a different stance of meds its ok to just switch up this types of meds on someone? Not at all. Oh and fun thing detail I found out on my own, lady is Nurse Practitioner not a psychiatrist. 1. why book me with a nurse practitioner when I specifically asked for a psychiatrist in my intake. 2. The nurse practitioner has no right saying she is a psychiatrist. There is different education for these professions. Thanks for the long wait of still to have no help.

Im still with my prescriber and I have been there for four years, but Im thinking about leaving. I always leave there thinking about leaving because its nothing but problems. The office staff is SO rude. My appointments get bumped regularly and I only sometimes receive a phone call about it, so Ill waste my time and gas just to be told that my appointment was moved without checking my availability first. The therapist I was seeing was totally incompetent and failed to recognize the cause of my problem despite me talking about it all the time. Eventually I had to tell her that she was bad at her job and I wouldnt continue to see her. She flat-out told me that she couldnt help me anyway because she doesnt do family therapy. They dont schedule your next appointment in-office anymore, you have to remember to call them to make your next appointment months later.Right now Im immensely frustrated with my prescriber because she wants me to go on medication while Im breastfeeding and is obviously very unfamiliar with breastfeeding in general. Giving up breastfeeding would make me depressed anyway, so its a vicious circle. The waiting room is dirty, the people in the waiting room are dirty (and usually sick. Read: coughing everywhere and never covering their mouth).Too long, didnt read: dont go here if you have other options.

My prescriber is awesome and makes sure Im aware of how new meds may interact with my other meds when old ones arent working as well. She gives me the available options and lets me choose what I think would work best for me because I have chronic illnesses that require medications and I know exactly how they react to certain things.Ive had two different counselors here and both have been great. For the first time since I was very young Im not depressed and thinking about dying. Still need some work on OCD and anxiety issues, but things like that can take time. Theyve help me make some breakthroughs which are making some things easier. Other things... not so sure theres a good way to help with. But they at least try.Ive never had anyone be rude to me here. If anything, they are MORE than patient with me having to cancel appointments so much because I forget to schedule transport thanks to my often fluffy/foggy brain. Yes, the waiting area could use a thorough cleaning and an update as could the restrooms. (The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5)Yes, some snotty people will be ill at ease with or disdainful of some of the clientele. But those are likely people who have no idea about the ratio of mental illness in the homeless populations nationwide. They need treatment, too. So complaining about dirty people and bums in the waiting room is really pretty crass.

Distressed, surprised and dismayed to discover and then confirm, maltreatment, displeasure and the questionable human condition of the personnel he receives, decides, enthroned as dictators, to his state of mind, moral conscience, homelessness or antipathy which is woken up by an outpatient who is going to ask for a service sponsored and funded by the State of New Jersey, the fate of each of us, those in need of health care. My case, that of a man of 71 years, a doctorate in Psychology, is certainly the one of so many dispossessed. First I want to point out that my name is Marco Antonio Rios Pita and I go, like my wife and son, to be attended to in your health center, The shock of arriving to this nation and living in it 16 years without having documents yet, a situation that forces us to clean floors and other scenes of other peoples houses, was very strong and caused in the three, depression, anxiety and hopelessness. Luckily the extraordinary kindness and professionalism of his doctors have been gradually relieving us. However, this humanitarian care has been blocked by a group of three or four receptionists who, for some unacceptable malaise, rudeness, and haughtiness, deny, both in the case of my son Gonzalo, and my own, to communicate with our doctor. A man of magnificent human quality and incapable of rejecting badly a patient who, like me, is without a date, without me I am also aware that the local bureaucracy is unavoidable and that it can give the situation that in a reception that should receive patients diminished by different conditions, are aligned like in a terrible eclipse, 3 or 4 women who show a bad disposition and that, possibly, expose the most deplorable is social sense. Paid by the city, it is amoral to show that litany of ill-treatment with the visitors forced by search of improvement and relief. After reading this story, loaded with acrimony, annoyance, embarrassment to describe dubious people, you can say: This old man really needs a psychiatrist. What says lines above is but another evidence of his pathology. Well, give me my psychiatrist ladies inquisitor si.Su his name is Szteimbaum.Dr.Szteimbaum. Put aside the system of care established a few months ago that states that those who miss their appointment will have to choose between two days of the week, without an hour, ie, go before 7 am that start the care and, as a luck of roulet fair traveling, wait for the winning number. That never room because the husky administrative body of receptionists have decided that there is no place at the table game, I went, leaving to work twice in the same week, Early. at 8 am, with my wife the last time, yesterday. They told us that it was already full. In the waiting room there was only one person. ... at 10 30 maybe they will receive ... It reminded me the name of a novel The skin of an Indian is not worth expensive and, in addition to another by the same author, Julio Ramón Ribeiro, Alienation. In both values are upset by the race. If the underground and vile racism, Y let me be clear: I migrate to USA because this is the country of freedom, non-discrimination, p or the outstanding education of its citizens, for work and respect, in search of a piece of land where to take root with my wife and my son, I ended visiting a mental health center in a small town of the north east coast of the country, writing this extensive and surely irritated message, the same one that I am copying to the health authorities of the State of New Jersey in the coming days if here, in the little dreamed Ocean County, I do not find immediate response from the administration

First treatment program I had to drop someone off and the only progam who lets their clients sit in the waiting room and look like they were sleeping .When they should have been in groups but from what i heard this is a on going thing .
