FIRST, let me say that I had a good experience before I get into the details. This salon is old skool. The equipment is old and worn. They have a retail side to the salon and the whole place is cluttered with various products. This place reminds me of a salon my grandmother would take me to when I came to visit her in the more rural areas of West Virginia. ATTENTION: they only take cash or check.Even though the place was old, worn, and cluttered; the staff did indeed keep every surface that a client touched very clean. I also saw an UV light and an autoclave (that is what it looked like...I couldnt tell for sure) that were consistently used for disinfecting tools during my services.I had a pedicure done with Delores. The previous pedicure I had done at a different salon used a gel polish that was nearly impossible to remove. My service took much longer than I expected. However, Delores took the time to fix everything and did a great job. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and extremely concerned with my comfort. The prices were also affordable.If you are looking for a modern salon with ferns, ambient sounds of nature playing, and an aromatherapy diffuser in the corner; this salon is probably not for you. This salon does seem to have good staff, and a warm friendly environment. I will be making another appointment for a pedicure and I will try out the hair services as well.

I was going on Hough to the Profession School of Hair but when I went to Carabel and Janiene did my hair, I said that is my place of getting dolled up for good!

This is my go to place for my hair. I have been coming here for 7 plus years. I always leave happyUpdate also still a great place. They always go a great job.

Phenomenal Service as well as Kind and professional staff offered me coffee or tea as well as cookies as I was getting my hair done. You cannot beat the pricing and the amount of work they put in to please their customers.Its also a small shop that sells hair pieces, shampoo and conditioner as well as costume jewelry and bows and barrettes for your hair. I highly recommend them.

The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is perfect. Very laid back and reasonably priced. My color wasnt what I wanted the first time and they re did it for free the following week. I love this salon and will definitely be coming back!

I am always happy with the job that Bonnie the owner) does on my hair. I get a cut and color. The prices are reasonable as well. Theyre just a bit over half of what they were at my former salon. Not only that, but Bonnie (and probably the other hairdressers too) and her daughter, Delores, offer the customers tea and snacks while we wait for our color to settle or hair to dry.I cant thank my daughter enough for referring me to Carabel and treating me to my first cut and color there!

I go here often its friendly inviting a good time. I got a nice wash in a layered trim and it plenty products Beauty Supplies hair clips excetera. Got some squeeze eclipse and some silver cat ears

The level of service is spectacular. Dolores puts the cure in pedicure. I brought my feet in and she took them from deplorable to restored. Shes kind, patient, and knowledgeable. She knew exactly what my feet and I needed. Proprieter Bonnie Lee came back to the nail salon area to chat a couple of times and to find out what I was loving so loudly. Dolores had done a purple ombre on my left big toe and it was gorgeous. This was my first time there but definitely not my last. The one downside is that they only take paper payments -- cash or cheque -- two transaction methods I dont really deal with. Im shopping for cheques tomorrow so future payments for services rendered wont be a thing.

Bonnie and the gang do a great job. Geared more for the mature crowd, my 17 year old says she loves their work. Prices are ridiculously low.

Get over the fact that it looks like a garage from the outside, and a flea market inside. Then you can concentrate on what makes Carabel the best beauty shop in Lakewood - the personnel and what they do with hair.If you can articulate what you want, they can do it, from simple classic cuts and sets to cutting-edge style and color. AND they do it for a reasonable price!Ive gone to other similarly priced places, and have never gotten the great looks that suit my face and lifestyle that I have gotten at Carabel. I used to pay double or triple at a boutique to get similar results. Now I just walk over to Carabel, put myself into the capable hands of Rose, knowing Ill get a style I can live with that looks both up-to-the-minute and flattering.

Locally owned and operated. Ive been taking my daughter there since she was 9 years old. Shes 16 now and still going there. We love Bonnie and all the rest.

Carabel has the BEST staff, hair and nail services, and prices around. As you leave, youll feel refreshed and like youve visited a long time friend.

Called to schedule an appointment for a manicure and was told they would not see me because I am a man. What a bizarre and toxic policy.

When my wife called to make us both hair appointments who clearly has a female voice and told the receptionist that she would like to make hair appointments for herself and her wife the receptionist began explaining it was an all female salon and do not do mens haircuts my wife then repeated herself that she would like to make appointments for herself and her wife and the receptionist said again said they do not do mens haircuts! So my wife told them to never mind and we will obviously not be using them. They are not LGBTQ+ friendly.

Place that makes you feel like family

WORST EXPERIENCE EVERWent before the big new year celebration for a cut and color. My hair was previously a red brown with blonde at the bottom. I wanted to cut off the blonde (about 3 inches) and dye it a chocolate brown color.So to start the place is a mess inside and seriously needs some updating but if you can get past all that turn and run in the other direction. It was cheap and that was the only good thing about it. My color is uneven and patchy and the cut was completely crooked. I went to great clips the day after and had to pay to get the cut fixed it was that bad.But it’s not even just that. The woman who did my hair was tall and super skinny wearing jogger sweat pants and couldn’t speak proper English if she tried. She talked over me and everyone else in the salon the whole time. Was swearing and complaining about her “baby daddy” and how he “don’t give her no money”. Completely unprofessional. And to make it worse she didn’t wear deodorant. So while she was cutting my hair I was forced to smell her BO.Will never go back.
