So glad we were able to go inside with our dog this year. As always, the clinic was super accommodating. We met our new vet Dr. Arcuri- he was fantastic! He not only answered all of my questions, but spent more than 5 minutes talking to me. It was definitely thorough and refreshing. We love this veterinary hospital and feel our dog, Chesty, is in great hands. :)

I called Monday morning to try to get my kitty in for an appointment, and even as a new patient they were able to get me in almost right away! When I arrived, I was greeted by staff and brought to the exam room with my kitty (which was such a relief, I wasnt sure if I was going to be able to stay with him or not....Im so glad that I was able to!) and right away we were seen not only by the nurse, but the doctor as well. The vet (doctor) as well as the nurses were so caring and kind, they made both my kitty and I feel so comfortable and cared for. Truly feel so blessed to now be apart of the system and to have a veterinary clinic that I trust to care for my kitty, no matter what (hopefully nothing) happens. Thank you!

Everyone was super kind and helpful! The office was nice and clean (which is not always the case at Banfield).The vet was AWESOME! He answered every single question I had about my dog’s health care. I felt heard; I wasn’t just another number. My dog liked her experience and so did I. We have found our vet :)

The service here was wonderful. Professional and attentive staff. Made the visit quick and easy and was very knowledgeable. Made me feel safe with them and made me comfortable with how they handled my pet and gave honest and up front advice. I was able to schedule my appointment quickly. The staff was very nice and helpful. They answered all of my questions an had great recommendations for my kitten.

They took care of my little man, 9 yrs, for a teeth cleaning and mass removal right on his eyelid. The doc walked me through how everything went very thoroughly immediately after the procedure was done. Picked my bub up after and he didn’t at all seem traumatized, which is always a good sign after procedures like this! The vet office called next day to check on him and make sure all was good 😄

Everyone there was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Had a great experience from the minute I picked up the phone to call them to the minute we left our appointment (last minute appt too). My experience was so great so much so that I’m transferring my fur babies records to their clinic. Thank you for all your help and for putting my mind at ease.

My advise is to make sure that you actually speak to someone and get ALL the details of your upcoming appointment. If I had known they were setting me up for curb-side visit versus in-person visit, I would have chosen a different location. I was also disappointed by the fact they they didnt seem to look at my pets chart for a god history of his illnesses. I know they didnt look at his because the last time we went in, they gave him a death sentence of 2 weeks - over a year ago. They didnt say ONE THING about that.

The entire staff was professional and sensitive to my situation. The doctor was knowledgeable. He was clear about treatment options and did not try to push extra treatment options on me. He respected my budget and situation. Affordable prices.

Dr. Sylvester and his Team are wonderful to work with and they take great care of Buttercup! Their communication is great; with regards to sending email notices of upcoming vaccinations and appointments, to the day(s) leading up to appointment. They are all kind, animal-loving staff!

As new client was very impressed with curbside check in, the staff, and curbside check out. The staff was welcoming, efficient and knowledgeable. Saw Dr Drew via phone and he was very professional but warm too. He explained our kitties issues in people speak and answered questions without hesitation. I left a vet I have used for 25 years due to some less than stellar encounters but feel lucky to have found Lakewood Vet. Plan to take other critters to them also. Highly recommend!

Having just moved to Lakewood, I was Overall very happy with Dr Drew and staff. I was told I would get to go in with my dog, but when I arrived I wasn’t allowed in as they were transitioning into in person visits. They had my dog inside for probably 15 minutes however, I was waiting in my car for nearly an hour and it was over 100 degrees. Thank heavens I was in the shade.

The staff and doctors always go the extra mile to explain everything. No matter how busy they are,, they give time and attention to my pets. it’s apparent that they truly care for the animals as well as the people who love them.

I cant say enough about this place. They were so gentle with my nervous pup (and with me, the worried new dog mom). Didnt take long for my dog to decide the vet and vet tech were good people. Im sure its because they took the time to let him have some treats and see that everything was ok. I came here because I had an issue that I didnt want to wait long on, and they could get me in quicker then my usual vet. After this experience, my new usual vet is Lakewood Veterinary Hospital!

BEWARE. This place is horrible. They are rude as hell, will not let you in with your pet, are completely unorganized, and overall just very unpleasant people to deal with. I never even made it as far as to meet the Vet. Just the absolute trashy, disrespectful, and rude front desk lady was enough to turn me away. NOT EVEN WORTH CONSIDERING!Edit in response to owners: I understand people have perosnal lives, but that is no excuse for them to be blatantly disrespectful to your PAYING customers, and to SICK ANIMALS. Theyre job is literally to help people and theyre beloved pets. I am also going through a lot with a Sick Cat on my hands, I hope you can put some better people on your team who can actually make your customers feel secure.

We have been taking our pets to Dr. Sylvester and his staff for over 20 years! Wouldnt think of going anywhere else. They have cared for our pets with compassion and tenderness. Even dealing with a hyper/scardy cat Bull Terrier!

Dr Sylwester is a wonderful vet. With remaining concerns for my cat after seeing another vet, he called me back with 90 minutes or so. We talked through all my concerns and questions, repeated what we agreed to do and issued Rx just after the call. He really listens to my concerns and truly cares to help our beloved pet-family members. And kudos also to vet tech team and staff that are so friendly and supportive.

Not gonna lie, this vet office has always had such kind and caring staff. Dr. Sylwester has always been such a great and caring doc!But, I was not very impressed with the visit I had with my dog, for the first time, this past week. My normal doc was not in and the doc that I had was super friendly and all... But I expect an actual exam of my animal, when its her first visit there. Not just listening to her heart and feeding her treats, which you didnt ask my permission to do before hand. I get that I should have voiced my opinion on this more, but when you charge for n exam.... you should probably do a more thorough one. In the future Ill make sure to schedule with Dr. Sylwester.

I have known Dr Lisa Bridston for many years and have always appreciated her frank and honest approach to care for my dogs.

They have recently changed ownership. They stated that they needed to do blood testing despite my objections. If they didnt do the testing they wouldnt continue to allow me to get her heart meds. What choice did I have, so $200 dollars later, the testing changed nothing, except I can now get her heart meds. They seem to care more about money than their long time clients and their pets. Too bad, this used to be a great Vet practice, apparently not anymore.

Every vet I called about my kittens first shots were booked out at least 3 weeks, and they helped to get me in right away! They were all incredibly friendly, would definitely recommend them!! Their pricing isnt too expensive either, compared to other vets I have been to. I will definitely be bringing my kitty there from now on!

I have a senior cat who recently developed some health problems and Dr. Sylvester and the entire team here has been so helpful with explaining whats going on to me and being honest and up-front about which tests & treatments are necessary and the associated costs. They consistently added more services then required or would be expected, example being a dog they had seen a number of times that year, they would then x-ray for foreign objects, although there was no indication or expectation that there would be a forgien object causing issues.Denied my request for heartworm meds for my dog, when ordering from chewy, after sending me a text asking if I would rather buy the meds from them.They needed all information for my animals after over three visits in a year (things like age, name, and breed of animals was asked every single time).Messaged me consistently indicating my animals needed to visit, then when Id call to schedule, would be told that they did not need a visit.80% of the staff seemed great.Either way, Id suggest to find another vet.

I dont write reviews often, but I just had to take the time to give this place five stars to thank them for the excellent care theyve provided for my puppy and elderly cat. I have a high anxiety German Shepherd puppy who has had a few health issues in her first year of life, and Ive always felt confident that the team here can help figure out whats going on with her. This puppy rarely stops wiggling, so I was amazed that they were able to get X-rays when we needed to and remove her stitches from her spay procedure without a heavy sedative! Im always a little embarrassed by her jumping and high energy, so its nice to know that the team at Lakewood Vet has it under control.As an added bonus, theyve made it super easy to reorder her medications through an online store, which is an added benefit. I dont have a lot of experience with vet pricing, but their prices are very reasonable from what I can tell.Ive already recommended this vet to a few friends and will continue to do so without reservations. We have a very medically complicated dog that another local vet, who many people recommend, twice mis-diagnosed or mis-treated our dog. That vet treated our dog and charged us for appointments for two years without ever finding a diagnosis. We took the dog to Dr. Sylwester at Lakewood, and we had a diagnosis in four months and a drug regimen that allowed the dog and us to have a decent life together. I find the degree of veterinary skill to be outstanding with Dr, Sylwester at Lakewood Vet Hospital. He is empathic to our dog and to us. Makes common-sense recommendations (e.g. should a dog be subjected to a complicated surgery, and what would his quality of life be afterwards? And how many years would we be likely to have with the dog afterwards, compared to not doing the treatment or doing a less serious treatment?) We were able to more easily make difficult decisions with the guidance of Dr. Sylwester. He is an outstanding vet, and we cant recommend him too highly.

This is my first experience with this vet. I switch to the Lakewood Veterinary Hospital because I didn’t like the way the previous vet handled my little puppers. Lakewood Veterinary Hospital Is EXTREMELY professional, courteous, and very well versed in their profession. It’s always a hard experience trusting people you don’t know to take care of your dog but, I would trust my dog in the care of this hospital again for sure! I had my border collie spayed here and they were always ready to answer the phone when I called to check in on her, they gave me a call the day before, an hour before surgery, post surgery and, answered all the questions I needed at any given time of day (during operational hours). The staff is extremely competent and skilled. They are constantly sending you reminders via phone and email so you know everything that’s going on and, are always available to help. If you want a peace of mind knowing your dog/animal is in the hands of an intelligent, skilled, and courteous staff then this is the place to take them!!!

We had been taking our dogs here for two years or so, no real issues until recently when we took our cat in. We took him in in February to find out why he has been losing weight and hair, they did a full blood work up, check up and everything, over $600 for that visit only to be told he is in good health. Come July the cat looks like he is about to kill over, we took him in twice, over $700 between the two appointments and no answers. They just prescribed expensive meds to treat the symptoms but still cant tell us whats going on.You can either wait in your car for over an hour or pay a drop off fee!! Other vets are not doing this. The quality of care has obviously declined, take your pets somewhere else!

We’ve brought our cat here several times for them to assess his condition. Each time they’ve shown that they’re disorganized, awful at listening, and never timely. Don’t expect to be here any less than an hour (no matter what), and do expect them to do more than you asked, costing you more money, almost every time. Terrible vet experience, if you value your time and/or money, do not make an appointment here.

Awesome care. Just absolutely amazing team. Our baby had to have surgery asap and they were able to get her in the next day after seeing her. The staff is amazing. They answered any and all questions and were very sincere.

My first impression was not good. The girl who answered the phone sounded like she was sleeping ot higher than a kite. She barely listened to what I was saying as I had to re-explain everything when I got there. She also did not tell me that I needed to wait in my car a call so I went to walk in and the girl inside flipped out, ran to the door all panicked like I was going to come in and murder everyone. I needed a prescription for my cat and instead of giving me an option for the pharmacy I wanted to go to was told that they use this specific pharmacy where the medication I needed was almost 40 bucks, Ive got it before at Walmart for 11 bucks and found out after I paid for it that I could have had it filled at walmart. We will see if my impression changes over time, but for now, my first trip there was not good.

I came in about 2 weeks ago for a check up since my cat had not taken to the food he was prescribed and it had been some time since we have been in. When I got here, it took about 10 minutes for someone to pick up the phone and then a vet tech called me to ask a few questions. I got really frustrated when she kept asking me why I was bringing my cat in. I would think that the staff here reviews notes and look at a pets history, or the person who booked the appointment would put in why the pet is being seen. Nonetheless I had to go over every single thing my cat has been in for in order for them to “figure out why my cat had an appointment” Another 10 minutes went by and someone finally came and took my cat from the car. A short while later I got a call from the vet and he went over everything he saw and explained that my cat needed to have some more bloodwork done in order to see what his levels were at for his hypercalcemia. Dr. Sylwester is actually a very nice doctor and he explained everything to me thoroughly. They brought my cat back out to my car along with the receipts for his appointment.The following week I went in for his appointment for his bloodwork and it again took forever for somebody to answer the phone. I had to keep calling and calling until someone eventually answered.Before a tech came out to get my cat the receptionist (or whoever the staff member was) took my payment over the phone before my cat was even seen. They then came out and took my cat and brought him out a short time later along with the receipt. I got home and noticed on my receipt that I had been overcharged by $30. The actual cost for the service ended up costing less than what they had originally charged me for. I called the clinic back and asked them about the additional funds that were not used. They told me that they would leave that amount as a credit towards a future visit. They did not even ask me if I wanted the money back. I took my cat in to get the blood work done on a Friday. I had not heard anything as the days went by. So on Wednesday I called the clinic because I still had not heard anything back about his results. They told me that they were very busy but that they would call me soon. Two days later I called back again and they told me that someone had attempted to call me but was unable to leave me a message. I didn’t have any missed phone calls but anyways they told me they would have a vet call me back in a little while. The vet that called me back was not the one who has been seeing my cat recently. This vet told me that Dr. Sylwester was not going to be back for a few days so she was going to go over my cats results with me. She started talking to me about some medication and started asking me questions that I had no idea about and then it became very apparent that she knew little about my pets situation and had assumed a whole different scenario. Anyways she ended up prescribing a dry food for my cat to start eating. She told me I could pick up the food the same day. When I arrived at the vets office l again had a difficult time getting anybody to answer the phone it took about 15 minutes to finally get an answer. I explained that I was there to pick up some food for my cat. They got my information and asked me for my card information right away. I told them I had been overcharged the last time I was there and that I wanted that credit applied towards the purchase of this prescription food. I was placed on hold and then charged the remaining amount. About 10 minutes later, a woman came out carrying various orders of food and came to bring me mine to my car, she almost dropped it and cussed when she caught it. It took me half an hour to simply get some food. The customer service has really plummeted. Not sure if it’s because of the pandemic, they are understaffed or are overwhelmed. Going to the vet sucks all around and staff can help make things go a little easier. I have been coming here since 2017 and I truly hope they get it together soon cause they have officially lost us as customers.

I had to take my dog in for 2 separate issues : one in February and one in late February, with a recheck in early March. Total price was over $400. Well, I called today and asked if I just come in and get Wiley a Rabies vaccination without the 60 fee and they said no! With whats going on I was really thinking they do that. No such luck 😕

They got us in quick for a wellness exam and the vet was thorough over the phone. Good service during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Really sweet people there and very affordable

We’re new to this office and I’ve already switched to another office. We originally had a great experience when my 3 month old puppy had diarrhea and they got us in right away to help him. I’ve been trying get him scheduled for his second round of vaccines but our schedules didn’t work out when they reached out one time to answer my appointment request. I’ve since been trying to contact them to schedule appointments and I’ve heard nothing. I called them last Friday because my puppy was having a difficult time passing his stool. So I like a normal and concerned pet owner call his vet and the woman who answered the phone at the front desk was extremely rude and unprofessional. When I asked to speak to someone for advice or a technician she told me your office could not help my puppy because he had not been seen in a long time so I could not speak to anyone & nobody will help until he restarted at the office. His last appointment was 8/2020. When I explained I’ve reached out and never got a response your employee responded with “Well you should’ve kept trying”If this how your staff treats people I can only imagine how they treat the animals that come into your building.

These folks were awesome! They got us in an appointment on the same day and even tho we were running late, they were kind enough to still see us after our appointment time. My boyfriend has a pit mix, and the vet was incredibly sweet and patient with her. She gave Tulip treats and lots of love while giving her her shots and was very communicative with us about everything. Their prices are fair, and we couldn’t have been happier with the customer service we were shown. The receptionist was funny and chill and got us in and out in no time. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Very friendly staff and vet. They are honest and are fairly priced. Would recommend.

Fast thorough and safe

We love Lakewood Veterinary Hospital. They take great care of our dog and cat. The prices are reasonable and they dont try to oversell you on things. They care about you and your pet.

They were able to see my dog right away when we needed them to see her for issues with her anxiety. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
