The owners Zach and Ellis a nice friendly guys, very helpful and knowledgeable. The equipment is top notch and rental prices are very reasonable. The area is a no wake zone so its a perfect place to kayak and paddle board not mention the scenery is incredible! Defiantly a repeat on our next visit. Thanks Zach and Ellis!

If you’re looking for a serene place to Kayak, this is the right spot. Separate from main body of lake travis so no speeding boats. Super friendly staff (offered me a complimentary protein bar). Also make sure to have reservations from their website if you’re visiting on weekends. It gets busy by 1 pm.

My family and I are visiting from south of Dallas and we heard lots of good things about this place. When we got there, Zack and Ellis were super attentive and helpful. Our experience was like no other and we definitely plan on coming back!

There was a place where we could jump off a cliff into the water, a lily pad where the kids could play after and picnic tables where we were able to sit and enjoy dinner. Definitely recommend!!!

We had the best time ever! Zack advised us to rent the “Cadillac of kayaks” which was the pedal kayak. It was amazing! He was kind enough to hold my keys for me. Ellis was super sweet! This place was great! Perfect area for taking out kayaks and boards. The equipment was in great condition. The guys helping us were laid back, friendly, knowledgeable and really great with our kids and grandma. They even offered to put out their lily pad for our kids to play on after we finished kayaking. We rented 2 kayaks at APK. This was our first time kayaking. The guys were very helpful and gave us excellent advice. We put in on their dock which is located in a very smooth area of Lake Travis. It was a very pleasant experience. I highly recommend them.

I have yet to get on the water with Zach’s paddle kayak, kayak or boards.However, the service I received when just stopping by was first class.Plus the appearance of the boards and kayaks were A+!This Young man is on the ball. BEST EXPERIENCE EVER!! Our family loves to kayak. We have used several different rental places. APK is the best rental place weve ever used. Its tucked in between large trees. Very shaded. Once you see that huge surf board that says APK and their PINK headquarters...youve found this gem. Zack and Ellis are extremely personable and knowledgeable of the lake. Zack didnt assume we were new or even veterans at this. He promptly asked if weve done this before to get a feel of our knowledge, which I highly respect. They explained all the areas on a map. He went through safety. Told us about the best places to have fun and swim, eat and drink, plus where you can park your rental boat when you get off. Equipment was excellent. Well taken care of. They have a couple large lily pads to hangout on and swim area after your rental. They will be adding new water toys soon. Both owners were fun to talk to. We went on a Tuesday at 11:30am. The water was perfect. Jumped off a cliff (be careful). Cant thank them enough for all the tips. God Bless your venture..we cant wait to see yall soon. GO FIJI!

The staff is amazing - we had a group of beginners and they did a great job breaking it down and explaining how to find your balance. They also have these great buoys that you can clip onto with your board and soak up the sun and relax for a bit. Cant recommend this place enough!

Hi this was place is amazing there is a lot to do here and there is like no one on the lake from Monday to Friday it is so peaceful and when you get back there are these things that you can run over the water. Also for the most part the water is pretty warm I would highly recommend this place

We had a great experience here! I thought it was weird this place had a 5 star rating, most places have at least a bad review, but after going here I can see why. The staff was fantastic, provide great tips, location was beautiful and they even gave our little one a popsicle which was very kind. We definitely plan to come back!

Zach and Ellis were both friendly, courteous, extremely knowledgeable, and patient with myself, my wife, and our 7 year old son from start to finish on our pedaling kayak adventure. Beautiful lake, top of the line equipment, and super friendly/knowledgeable staff makes this spot a must do if you have thought you might want to try kayaking without all the arm work.They have regular kayaks, two person rowing kayaks, etc. if you are looking for a different experience. This place was the absolute best!! They accommodated our large group of ten, all of us being first-time kayakers. Zach was great - super friendly and flexible with all of us regarding weather complications and time constraints. He also showed us places on the lake that we could dock to get drinks, food, swim, and explore. He even gave us recommendations for other things to do in the area afterwards. The prices are so awesome for what you get too!! Totally worth it - we already want to go back. Highly recommend this place!!

Worth the hour drive from The Island on Lake Travis. On a windy day we were knowledgeably discouraged to take paddleboards and instead were recommended the pedal kayaks which were SO MUCH FUN. Extremely easy to use we visited the local park and then just anchored to the buoys for insta pics! Highly recommend! Ellis was so sweet and funny truly great customer service! We were invited to hang out to swim and catch some sun on the lilly pad by their dock which was so great! Cant wait to come back again!

My fiancé and I checked out APK for the first time today and it was a wonderful experience. I made a reservation online before going and when we walked up we were pretty much good to go for our pedal kayak reservation. It was both me and my fiancé’s first time on a pedal kayak. Truly had an amazing experience at Austin Pedal Kayaks. Zack (or Zach) and Ellis were some of friendliest people we spoke to on our trip to Austin from Florida. They were very laid back and kind; they had us in Lake Travis in no time! The kayaks are a great size and can hold well over 300 pounds easy. They show you how to maneuver your kayaks if it’s been a while since you’ve been on one as well as where to go and what’s off limits on a map. Definitely check out there merchandise, it’s super cute! Next time we come back to Austin we will definitely be coming back to rent some kayaks at Austin Pedal Kayaks (:

Truly amazing experience! Me and my girlfriend were traveling from Florida and looking for something to do on the water. I am so glad we found this place! Ellis and Zack were very friendly and charming and the customer service was overall amazing. The kayaks were good quality and had room for our cooler. We wanted a dry bag to keep our important stuff dry for three dollars and was glad we did. The area is beautiful and we found a little spot by some cliffs to pull over and enjoy the scenery as well as our lunch. We will definitely be coming back here next time we are in Austin!

Went here for a birthday party with my 1 year old expecting to kind of just have her off to the side. But there was so many things I was able to do with my daughter! And the staff was more than accommodating with everything I needed for her. Deff will come back before it gets too cold! And then again next summer!!

A Covid19 hermits dream! Rent a kayak or stand up and paddle board and head out for a couple of hours of peaceful relaxation on a cove of Lake Travis. We had amazing service by the most friendly dock hands ever! Get outside and remember what this great city offers!

Checked out pedal kayaking for the first time here. Didn’t know what to expect, but totally hooked from the jump. Had such a great time, I came back with my dog and took him for a lake cruise the next weekend. This little gem is protected by a large no-wake zone, so you get to enjoy the Lake Travis splendor without having to worry about speeding boats on busy weekends.The dudes that run APK are super cool and they have a solid selection of kayaks and stand up paddle boards too if you are looking to get your paddle on.

APK has an updated and informative website as well as wonderful customer service. They have a great selection of kayaks and paddle boards. I give myself a 0/5 starts when it comes to leaving reviews for good companies online.Ive had this idea for some time but because I only get ideas and consider them for too long without action, nothings been done: There should be an International Leave a Review Day so that companies like this and all over the world could strongly benefit from our good intentions. I suggest maybe during fall or winter so people can really sit and write.I promised the owner that I would leave a good review after the great experience he and the staff provided my group, and it took me at least a couple of months. Hey, theres a pandemic going on, so theres half an excuse.We wanted to paddle on the lake and we looked for spots. We were lucky to find this place, nice and humble on a good spot on the lake. We went, we talked and we paddled (without a reservation). The equipment was good and functional (looked new), and the area of the lake looks small, but once youre on the water its pretty big. Its a great big pool out there and these guys make it easy to get started. We rented paddle boards and also pedal kayak.The parking is no hassle, and free. Its not a crazy popular spot (it may become one) so theyre good to visit before the word gets out. It felt good to support a local small business thats offering a great service here. Attention to detail. Care for the customer. Smiles and good vibes.Also, true story: my cousin lost her glasses while walking back from the equipment to the parking area once we were done and the glasses happened to land in the water while crossing the bridge. We tried looking for them in the water but no dice. The owner provided us with a strong magnet and some goggles to try to attract them that way, but no luck at all. My cousin was in tears. It was a depressing night after all the fun on the water.The owner said that he would give it a shot in the AM when the tide tends to roll back. He said he would call us with any good luck if he found them next day. It turns out in the AM my cousin had a call from him. The missing glasses were sparkling out right in the sun on the rocks and with the tide rolled back in the AM, he said.So what did we do? We went and drove back for the glasses the next day, of course. And since we were out there and since it had been a good experience and since he had been a good owner and since it had been a good business and because it was hot outside, well wouldnt you know it? We decided to paddle again. Another glorious hour with our feet dangling down into a Lake Travis water abyss down below.Upon returning back to the cars again, I considered if we should lose something yet again so as to create another excuse to call off sick from work on Monday and return to find some long lost yet found again personal valuable. Well, I was responsible, so I didnt. But the feelings there. And I intend to return.

Yes! Finally! This is the place I’ve been waiting for since we moved 5 years ago! Just past Lakeway City Park is newly established Austin Pedal Kayaks and it has everything - single kayaks, tandem kayaks, pedal kayaks and paddle boards. They provide life jackets and if you have friends who have their own kayak, paddle board, they can come along too and put in the lake for a small fee. A very safe place on beautiful emerald green Lake Travis, as it’s located within a cove where you can paddle along shore to the beach in Lakeway City Park. You can hook up your kayak or board (with attached carabiners) to their marked buoys and chill or go for a swim. Zach and Ellis are the two very friendly guys who run the place. They have experience having worked at a kayak place in downtown Austin. They go out of their way to make sure you have a great day. You can rent a dry bag and there are cubbies down at the dock. I’ve seen groups, families and couples all out on the lake. Fun day all around!!!
