About 90% of the negative reviews are people that struggle to tie their own shoes out the door daily. People dont understand they are a public utility and they are busy and cannot cater to all of your yuppy unrealistic needs. I have been there twice in two weeks to return equipment they were swamped both times I was still in/out in 20 mins. Way to many rubes walking in asking billing questions holding up multiple people simply looking to take care of business. I could count on one hand how many times I had connections issues over years, take the bad reviews with a grain of salt it is basically just entitled karens that have little to no understanding or how an internet network works.

Upgraded my internet for faster speeds. The tech that was sent didnt speak english and damaged my equipment. Obviously I couldnt speak to him about it. Spectrum then said I cut my own wires and wouldnt repair the damage.

Needed help with my bill. My husband went into this location. Kevin tried helping him and then said his boss would look bills over and call the next day. Of course he never called and my husband had to go in and talk to him. He was unhelpful and said his boss Heidi would call the following day. Do you think she called? Nope. I really hate when businesses pass you from person to person and no one helps and no one follows up. Problem still not solved. Disappointed.

I called to cancel service, only to be offered a streaming package with locals channels and internet that was similar to the competitors price. After sitting on hold for 20 mins and them trying to sell me mobile service, they said they were having issues with their system. He didnt want me waiting on hold but said Id get a confirmation email when activated. Fast forward that evening and I call back to check status. Im told they have no record of my call and that the package im asking about is going to be 25 bucks more a month than told earlier that day.How they dont have a record of my call after asking for name, address and pin is beyond me. It shady to say the least that the best offer I was given is magically not in their system.

Terrible internet company. They get you signed up at a reasonable price and dont tell you its promotional until one day you have a more expensive bill. They like to take advantage of people who live in areas where spectrum is the only option. For the same speeds you can get a $20-$30 cheaper plan through the competitors. Also, they automatically charge you extra for wifi without telling you that you have the option to use your own router and return the one they are charging you $5 a month for. If you have the choice, avoid them at all costs!

I cancelled my internet after 5 years of service. I returned my modem to the store and thought that I was done for now, but they started calling me stating that I had, posted a help ticket to return my modem, which was untrue. They then started harassing me to upload a copy of the return receipt to an email address and I am considering it a scam since I returned it to a physical person at the Spectrum Store. Its not my responsibility to take inventory for them and they are trying to pull a scam on me that I am reporting to the Better Business Bureau.

Ive been having slow internet issues for a while. Spectrum is nearly impossible to get on the phone. I posted a message to @ask_Specturm on twitter. They got back to me with in an hour that they found a potential problem in the line. They schedule an appointment for the following day, the window was 11:00AM to Noon. I was shocked, I expected the old 3 day window. The Tech arrived promptly at 11:00, quickly diagnosed the problem, fixed it and was on his way in 20 minutes. Great service from eh cable company. I was pleasantly surprised.

WiFi is ok at best, tv service is awful, show doesn’t record like it should. System goes in and out even when u try and watch something on demand it constantly pauses. So annoying, do better spectrum !!!

Spectrum does not hesitate to spam you with Special Offers constantly hoping they can extract the last spare dollar you have. However any sign of life from Spectrun disappears if you run into any sort of problem or god forbid need to cancel your service. Unfortunately with the monopolies that exist in this business you likely cannot choose anyone else which allows awful business practices like described above to continue. Spectrum, if you read this please know your customers only choose you because there is literally no other option.

If I could give zero stars I would. This is the worst service Ive had from any internet company. Over a month ago half my apps quit connecting to my home wifi. Contacting customer service is pointless as you will spend hours and get no resolution and theyll just blame you for the problem. After the third time I contacted customer service they finally sent a tech out. The techs are really incompetent and dont really know anything about the equipment or wifi settings. They exchanged my equipment twice and the issue still persists. Im now on the lookout for other internet options.

I signed up a year ago and I was told my regular monthly payment. I paid on time and I noticed that they always want me to add more service, because I refused to add service they decided to raise my monthly payment by $15. I called three times to complain and I was told my last 12 months was promotional rate which was not specified on my final order details received via email a year ago. I asked to speak with a supervisor on March 22,2021, the supervisor who called was very rude and she was yelling at me on the phone that I had to disconnect the call. Spectrum needs to be reported to the Attorney generals office for the price fixing and unprofessional customer service supervisors and representatives

Not particularly the store just Spectrum service as a whole. Constantly have problems with connection and also issues with my payments loading. Seems like everytime I make a payment it is difficult between loading forever and never processing to saying something went wrong and it is unable to process. If I had other options where I live I would cancel my service.

We moved to Rosemount in September of last year and sadly Spectrum is the only cable choice in the city. To say the service is behind the times is a HUGE understatement! The service and technology they offer is at least 10 years behind competitors like Xfinity, which we had previously. The internet is slow the cable service is spotty and the DVR service is a joke. The only good news so far is we do not appear to be locked into a contract.My advice is look elsewhere before even considering Spectrum.Also the connection service was the worst I have ever experienced. It took 3 different technicians to come out on separate occasions and one trip to the store for me to get the right equipmentWe are looking for internet and tv service alternatives and I suggest you do too.

A salesman stopped by over a year ago, he was canvassing the neighborhood. We talked for a bit, he want to send us equipment. I wanted info on the plans and services in writing to go over with my wife later. A week later we got 2 boxes delivered that were both opened. The boxes were recievers! I was confused, so I called and then I returned the boxes to the Spectrum location in Lakeville.We are still receiving harassing phone calls from collectors saying we did not return the equipment. They are demanding I supply proof I returned the equipment. I tell them they need proof I did not from Spectrum. I have the form somewhere from the clerk at Spectrum when I returned the boxes. But with all the lying I have gotten from Spectrum and the harassing calls from collectors there is NO WAY Im giving them anything!

Very disappointed with Spectrum, and unfortunately, they have a monoply in Lakeville, MN. In my experience they do not reward customer loyalty (we have been cutomers for over 3 years) nor do they offer auto payment discounts (as Dish and DirectTV do). Because Spectrum is a monopoly, they are able to charge additional fees with impunity. Our TV & Internet rates went up and we now pay nearly 20% more per month and while though we still have a small discount on our phone, it is very disheartening. Today, the customer retention department tried to convince me to change to Spectrum mobile, all the time telling me I have a great deal -- why would I give Spectrum more money when I am already dissatisfied with their service? Sign me an unhappy customer.

He knew exactly what was going on and fixed it in less than an hour and a half. I think it’s important that when things are good you share that as well as when things are bad. Ive been a customer for 14 years. I paid charter through my bank accounts bill pay service Wednesday last week. Which Ive done many times. With the holiday, it will take until Monday to get the money to them. They would not give me a 24 extension and insisted I pay the bill even though I sent them my bank confirmation that the money had been taken out and would be delivered Monday at the latest. So I paid this bill twice because my kids have to go to school tomorrow. Horrendous customer service especially for a long time client. Not that I have a choice with them having a monopoly here.

Way too expensive. Last internet bill went up another $5 per month. I found another service in my area that was faster and less expensive. Cancelled my service and was told while on the phone and while in person that they could not prorate my bill for the month because it was a month to month service. My current monthly service ends on the 29th of the month and today is the 11th so I have to pay for service I am not receiving. My electric, water/sewer and garbage utilities are month to month but they would all prorate. Just another instance of Charter / Spectrum ripping people off!

I had my Router replaced due to advice from phone conversation with Tec Support 5 months ago, however when I returned the Router it was replaced by a different one which has not worked after several exchanges, I told they do not have the other in stock, to add insult to injury the rude sales rep said to me I could buy my own router. After many years of using Charter/Spectrum I am very dissatisfied. with no other place to go & my monthly Rates Increased.

A lot of in and out connection. Slow connection often. I also moved, planned the move weeks ahead. The day of the move my service worked at my new house. I contacted spectrum because my WiFi cams were still Working at my townhouse That I was moving out of. The rep stated it had never been transferred nor were there notes for a transfer. He assured me that would be taken care of. I continued to be billed, automatic withdrawal, assuming because I’d had service at my new address. Fast forward to 10/24, my service went out completely. Tech support was unable to fix AT ALL and said no one would be able to come out until a week later. Mind you, my kids are homeschooled. I guess no school for an entire week here? She also informed me that STILL, my service had still never been stopped at my previous address and was STILL being billed! All of this took me 2 hours on the phone with these people this morning. Absolutely horrible horrible service. I’ve had enough of this company. How many reps does it take to transfer a service...

Terrible customer support. They need to train their people better on their systems and have the people actually follow through with technical issues. If you need support, good luck. If you get through, the support is poor and normally, you dont get issue resolved. If they advise that they are going to escalate your request and get back to you, they wont. Have been told that on a few occasions now and have never got follow up. You just end up giving up and dealing with it.No real competitive options so your hand cuffed to this company.

I’m fighting to get spectrum to clear up a collection. I moved and transferred services with same equipment. I kept getting a bill saying I owed $120 for equipment not returned. I’m still using the equipment!! Spectrum assured me it would drop off. Now I got a letter from a collection agency for the $120. Called spectrum and they did a ticket and said it was fixed. That the collection agency would get something in 72 hours. Seven days later nothing. Called spectrum again. The rep didn’t know what was going on so he did another ticket. So now I have to wait and see what happens. What a joke. I don’t know what to do?!UPDATE: after two unsuccessful tries to get Spectrum to fix THEIR mistake, I had to file a complaint with the MN Attorney General. Their office had to go after Spectrum and have the issue fixed. The AG also said to file a complaint with the FCC as well as they handle cable/internet companies and their shady practices.

Cant give zero stars. Rates always increase without notice and they always call you with upgrading to cable and spam . $75 bucks for plain jane internet and a $5 dollar wifi charge. I had to go in and demand a credit when they have outages when I work from home and I cant do my job. The one day it was out for half a day and they gave me a $10 dollar credit!!! I pay nearly $1,000 a year for this service and thats what they refund me for my inconvenience...? Its a shame they are the only place in town because its a complete joke. The customer support is a bunch of incompetent drop outs that always blame you for the problem and need an actual manager to do anything... will take recommendations for other providers.

Worst internet service around. Moved to a different place and got charged $75 for “adjustments” when the only thing they did was change my address in the system. We were the ones to reconnect everything and called to make sure it was correct. Also got charged for spectrum TV which I never wanted. And got a statement in the mail for a past due balance which I paid but apparently there’s no payment on their end. Our internet is slow, but paying for one of the highest ones for streaming and whatnot.

Their customer service is terrible. If you ever need to call, please take the day off of work as it takes hours to get through. Especially if you are trying to disconnect your service. You end up talking to 3 different people, telling them the same information over and over again. Raised rates....again, with no representation as to why. Spectrums cost for providing our service has not gone up, yet ours jumped $39 in 1 month. A year ago, we dropped the silver package to bronze and our cost went up. We called to discuss - told this is what it is. They will not help in any way. I see by their ratings - I am not alone.

Internet service is decent. Thats where much of the good things end for this company. The way their customer service personnel treat their customers is symptomatic of how the company views its customers. Spent over 30 minutes on chat to change services, to only be transferred multiple times and then told I need to call their customer service number to make the changes. Not sure why they couldnt make that conclusion earlier, and without multiple transfers, based on my initial request, which change my existing services.

A lot of business issues towards the end. They took very poor responsibility. I gave them every chance to make a better call on how to fix things and they were very rigid- offering me an insult of a credit back. 1/3 of one month’s bill when they cost me thousands and we had been with them for over ten years. One month credit would have been enough. Be very careful. Several other cable companies are much better out there. POPP, Nexterra, integra. As bad as Comcast.

Their service is absolute trash, tech support online is even worse, wait times on the phone absolutely absurd and repair techs that respond to our home are absolutely incompetent and dismissive. This company is horrible. If I could give this company a negative rating I would. First, their WiFi router goes out after 5 months. After trying countless times to get through to a rep (don’t bother at all between 6am and 9pm), wait times are 45 minutes or longer, they ask you to run through the same steps you say how many times you said you tried. Next, we get a tech out to our house and he doesn’t even address the cable modem which was the real issue, despite us telling them it was. Instead, the tech said it was a corroded connection. How does a connection inside a box get corroded after 6 months? Needless to say, the modem stopped working within 36 hours. Never again. The BBB is aware, by I don’t think that will even help.

I wish we could get Xfinity/Comcast service. Unfortunately, our only option is Spectrum. Makes me sick to my stomach anytime we have to call about service or billing issues.We wanted to switch to YouTube, Swing, etc. because we heard from so many others how much cheaper it is. We called Spectrum to cancel our service and they offered to reduce our package “deal” by $50/mo. We continued with Spectrum because of the reduced rate. After 1 month, the reduced rate increased $10. We called Spectrum and said that we had renegotiated the new rate and the only answer given over and over was that they had a price increase.Spectrum is such an unethical company. If you have other options consider those before Spectrum. You’ll save a LOT of money and frustration!Why can’t I record up to 5 shows at one time and have a voice control remote like Comcast?!!! Step it up Spectrum!

Aparently changed it from a tech-install to a self-install without notifying me. Years of poor customer service, If another could match internet speed they would be dropped.

Service is not reliable and customer service is HORRIBLE. We have had 2 major outages this year and we subscribe to their Premier Business Services, these outages have caused us major loses and caused us to let 34+ employees go home as they could not work. on 1/17 Technician arrived 1 hour late, which was 8 hours after we called in the outage. Technician determined that everything on our site was perfect and Charter had a Node issue, he also explained that his last 3 service calls had the same node issue (but they did not want to declare an outage). Hours later I call customer services and wanted to speak to a supervisor, waited 23 minutes and was told the supervisors were too busy, but would call me back, Richard gave me a ticket number of 31291046, and a supervisor would call in less than 30 mins. Supervisor never called. I did get a call from a dispatcher asking to setup time for tech to come back, I explained the node issue diagnosis and he said we know the technician cannot do anything at your site to fix the issue, but it is our process.... I asked if the technician coming could fix the node issue, and was told no, that is our maintenance department. I asked if the supervisor would still be calling me and was told no, there is no need. I called back to the customer service and gave them my ticket number, which i was told we cannot locate that ticket number, we have many ticket numbers used in many different departments. This time I waited for 18 minutes for a supervisor to pickup, he was nice and explained that Charter has failed us today. He said he would contact field maintenance and get back to me. We have been down almost 24 hours, no phones, no internet and losing money...... Hope to hear back, This is not right,

We had a tech show up at our door without an appointment. Insisted that he come into our residence to check our connections. Said if he didnt, he would disconnect our internet connection. Ridiculous! Bill always paid in full, he had no personal protective gear, and I have no idea where hed been or what his infection status is. Dangerous and completely unacceptable. We will be looking for a new way to connect online. Also, in the last year, theyve raised our bill to be over $240/month. Total rip off!

Earlier this week, someone from Spectrum came to the house to talk about internet in the neighborhood. I gave them my email because I was interested in possibly (possibly) switching in the future... then said goodbye (dont open the door for strangers haha).Today, I get these three huge boxes in the mail, and an account # set up with them. Internet service is fine, only had occasional outages and speed was always pretty consistent in the 10 years of service. My issue was when trying to do a transfer of ownership at the store. After realizing a couple months later I was still getting charged, I called and Spectrum said they had no record of this. So obviously whoever in the store that was supposed to enter all this info into their system never did it or didnt take and follow up. Very inconvenient as I (we) now have to go back to the store at the same time to sort it out. They do not have incoming phone lines at the store to call!? WTH is up with that? Both parties live 30+ min away but is the closest store.

Extremely poor customer service and it is almost impossible to get anything accomplished when you call them. Expect at least a 30 min phone and no guarantee that they will get anything done for you. Called to cancel my internet on the last day that I have paid for (which was a couple weeks away) and I was told no problem. Later that same evening our internet is disconnected. I call the following day and after a 40 min phone call, Im told that they automatically cancel it the day you call, not the day you request and that the representative should have told me that. They didnt offer to fix anything, simply gave an empty insincere apology.

Waited on hold for ten plus minutes, not good. Poor interface on TV service and cannot record more than 2 shows at a time or watch a different live channel while 2 shows are recording. Charter is still in the 90s.Message sent to Charter executives:Good afternoon,I signed up for Spectrum TV again a few weeks ago and right off the bat i had an issue with my account not working properly on mobile device apps, which turned out to be an error on the Charter end. Most recently I upgraded my tv service to gold via the cable box, and found myself with another service problem. On Demand became inaccessible with error code E6303 being displayed right after doing the upgrade.I called customer service and it was confirmed that there was an issue on the Charter side again, not with my box. The lady I talked with said that a ticket was opened, and it could take up to 24hrs before the error is fixed. There wasnt an option to transfer me to a technician that could help...?Being in the customer relations field, this is unacceptable to me and is very disappointing. Customers are paying you for service, and when that service is interrupted you have a responsibility to make it right, immediately. I would hope that Charter would consider this same principle as it guides many Fortune 500 companies.

So disappointed! We have been a loyal customer for almost 5 years, and every year they hike up the price further. Internet and TV went up again. Didnt even flinch when we said we want to cancel! Horrible customer service.

Very incompetent company. Where should I start.. Well first off my internet stops working out of no where 12/13/18 and I called the company the next day 12/14/18. The customer service representative I talked to told me that my router was supposed to be replaced one year ago. Then he told me to go into the store to get a replacement for Free. I had no problem doing this but then once I got to the store the women who helped me gave me the incorrect item instead of the actual router. She kept on trying to be persistent with trying to sell me cable packages even though I told her multiple times that I was not interested. She should have just done her job and gave me the correct item but didn’t. So now I’m sitting at home upset with no Internet because of this companies incompetent employees. I pay my bill on time every month and this is what I get. I’m starting to consider replacing my internet provider with another company I cannot keep dealing with the competence. I would give -10 stars if I could.

Horrible service. They told me they would help me activate my new phone and give me instructions on the phone when I received it. When I returned to the store they refused to help me. They put me in a room and dialed Spectrum. I didnt even know how to turn the phone on. I was in the room for an hour and a half struggling to set up the phone and how to work it. I left the store in tears they were jerks.

Corporate greed + customer service incompetence = $183.99While out of town for work my smart home network went down. I didnt think anything of it because on a rare occasion this type of outage has occurred. However, after it was down for a couple of days, I began to worry since nothing on my home network was reporting in including things that do so through a corporate intermediary (Sense, LifX, etc).When I called Spectrum, they said Interference was coming from your address and needs to be fixed. The ultimate truth was they had disconnected my internet physically at the terminal to my to precipitate a call for an upgraded modem under the pretense of “interference” even going so far as to say that the new modem would “fix the problem” and “we do not require you to be home for the service call.” After letting them know it was a bad policy to cut off service to a never-late-in-paying customer, they said they would send a technician out to restore service on the outside and all I would have to do is to self-install the modem for a $9.99 charge. They also said they would backdate the discounted rate to the date they elected to disconnect my paid service to “compensate you for your trouble.”When I got home from my trip, there was a note on my door, “Sorry we missed you,” which went on to say they needed to look around my house for the “interference” and would have to come back. Nothing whatsoever had changed about my wiring – I was gone, no weather events occurred, no one was digging in or around my house. Yet, they had to search my house for the cause of the interference. My guess is that they dont like the fact that I filter all their served up ads with a Raspberry Pi running PiHole and wanted to shut it down.I let them know I do not do business with companies that lie (about restoring service through an outside visit that doesnt require me to be present and about the backdating for service not provided, which they also did not do) and wanted to cancel my account and get a credit for the remaining paid-for but unusuable days in the month.Instead, they created a new cycle start date, charged the former monthly fee, $65.99, and charged for a 4-year old modem the last installer said I owned and for a new, never used modem I will be returning. As you know, Spectrum (formerly Charter) does not provide service until you pay. Therefore, the service you are using today was paid for earlier. Instead of issuing a credit, they moved up the monthly billing date, kept the old charge ($65.99 not $45.99) and said, “Sir we are a monthly billing service. We do not bill in partial months.” Now they are trying to charge me for a month of service never provided and impossible to receive because they physically disconnected my service. The remaining $59.99 x 2 is for the old and new modem, which I will happily return.If you have smooth, uninterrupted service, you may never know the horror show of incompetence and self-serving actions that I have been faced with. Know this – Spectrum will stop at nothing to serve their bottom line above any reasonable interaction you may attempt to make. If you have other options, take them. Also, during one of my calls, the “Customer Retention Specialist” or some such florid name said that if I were to have called every year when they bump up their rate from about $45 to $65 they are authorized to reduce the cost to the lower number for another year to keep you as a customer.

When I requested for expedited service due to some building requirements, its handled very well. Looking forward to get same experience during the service too !

CONSUMER WARNING: DO NOT USE SPECTRUM INTERNET! 3 weeks of no internet. We had our original appointment on 6/23/19 to get internet. It is now 7/8/19 and we still do not have internet. There was a problem with the line, so it was never installed. No one showed up for the second appointment. No one will call us back; no one will schedule an appointment to install the internet; no one will help us. We do not have ANY other providers in our area. We have zero recourse for this company. Now I have received a bill!!! For what?? Absolutely disgusting, and truly the definition of a monopoly.

Horrible horrible service. Every night the internet is throttled down to about 5mbps when I pay for a lot more. I speed test every day and it’s the same thing. I have a great modem and router. The very moment I can switch to a different provider I will.
