This isn’t about this gym specially but for lifetime as a whole. Since this is my main location I am leaving a review here. I overall like lifetime but it seems the culture and approach has changed. When I signed up I’m the two main reasons I chose this gym was because my wife had the ability to take our kids here in the middle of the day and be able to enjoy the pool with them or leave them in child care and go work out. Now they close the child care center and pool for kids around midday. Second reason was because since I work usually till 9pm or till 11pm I still could get in work out or relax by going to spa area. They now close week days 11pm and 9pm weekends… completely defeats my purpose now. They pretty much had too close down during the first close down when the covid mandates started I kept paying and stuck through it. They brought the hours down but I noticed when the mandate changed and they could stay open longer they didn’t extend hours. Then when the mandate was lifted they cut weekend hours and extended week day hours by 1 hour and just used covid as a way to not be 24 hour gym anymore. Never openly saying this was their plan. Makes me feel cheated especially this is the reason not only myself but many other people I know chose this gym. They use the excuse that there aren’t enough employees but they don’t raise wages as they have drastically raised gym fees due to inflation but it is obvious that they would have to raise wage due to inflation. I don’t know anyone who is willing to work child care for $11 an hour.🤷🏻
Love this facility! I come here for a group fitness workout — the instructors are awesome, spa time, swimming and kids tennis. When the kids were younger we loved the swim program and we used the daycare. Now that they are older we also use the rock wall. I could spend hours here!
I would like to say I have been going to life time in Lakeville for years and never had a late payment or any problems until this past summer. I enrolled my son on my membership for him to be able to swim as he is recovering from cancer. As he is trying to get his strength back and I thought it would be good for him but I was wrong. My son is African American and was treated so badly by the staff and new management at the pool. it was a nightmare and you could tell their was favoritism going on. At first I did not believe it but after calling to make sure they had family swim on two separate occasions and they did he was not allowed to go to the outside pool. Their was a sign up by the door of the outdoor pool that read adult swim only. on both occasions I told my son to swim indoors however I went to sit outdoors and I encountered only certain children were able to use the pool needles to say they were not of color. But the worst was when my son came out running to me crying that the indoor pool needed to be closed and the lifeguard would not let him come outdoors to were I was. He told them I was outdoors at the pool but was made to sit on a chair unable to reach me and when the lifeguard moved away he ran to me crying. I cancel my membership and when I spoke to the district manager all he did was apologize and said we will refund my money for that month. I canceled my membership. Because at this point my son says he never wanted to go back to lifetime.Shame on you lifetime
Love this place!!I could spend all day at lifetime
Spa is wonderful, the facilities are sparkling clean!
We have silver sneakers through our insurance! So we joined Life Time! Cooper is the general manager & was awesome! Great facility!😊
The facility is like country club!Super clean! Great equipment! Amazing pool!!!!
Good club, I’ve been to a few other locations, and this one is really nice. It’s big and has lots of equipment for cardio and weights as well as a large free weight section. My only problem with this lifetime is the crowd. If you’re not interested in working out with basically body builders this might not be the gym or location for you.
Overall is ok but wish they had more contemporary equipment like my previous gym. Also they need to refill disinfecting wipes at every work out area. I ve been working out 3-4 times a week and find every time I go, the disinfecting wipes boxes are empty in multiple work out areas. For $114 a month they could do a better job with cleaning/disinfecting supply.
My favorite of all the Lifetime gyms.Best saunas period.
Since the day I took a tour here. I knew I would join!24 hr access to the club was amazing. With my rotating work shifts it meant I could go anytime and no matter my shift that week.A bit pricey, but to me at least its worth the investment
Life Time has great clubs. This one is always busy, but still tried to enforce COVID-19 protocols. Great tennis facility, but the insertion of indoor soccer fields next to the tennis courts is a nightmare. With no soundproofing between the soccer pitches and tennis courts Nos. 5 and 10, it is a cacophony of noise from the soccer players. Made for a truly unsettling match last night, and hard to think when it sounds line a swarm of men are attacking each other on the other side of the large, fabric wall. Oh well, hoping next time I play I am closer to the tennis desk.
Yesterday I visited my gym like i always for my sons swim class this is the only reason we have our membership and some times but very solemnly work out i came in with my 4 month old daughter and i was asked in a rude manner if my daughter was on the membership i did not understand why she had to be in the membership if my daughter is only 4 months and we will not be utilizing services for her for another 4 years after the conversation i told the rude gentleman greg that its fine use my guest pass for my daughter and i will be canceling the membership i went inside towards my sons swim class where i was stoped and escorted back to the front office it was disrespectful and felt embarrassed and i was not acting in a manner where they had to do this totally complaint towards there commands i terminated my membership and this was not the first time i had issues with my payments in the past for losing a credit card they where very rude to my wife and i for a missed payment they insisted we pay now when i am well aware of there grace period rules and regulations these customer service reps must be held accountable for and for the record i am Mexican and felt very discriminated upon never have i seen someone walk in with a stroller and been harassed the way i was horrible just horrible being a member for some time now and not to be appreciated
DO NOT take your children to childcare! My husband took them and my kids came home to tell me that an older woman and a older women of color would yell at them and other children. They said they wouldn’t even pay attention to the little ones or anyone! Also they said they heard multiple of the workers cuss. My friends told me she has the same experience at the child center. That’s why I’m not a member, only my husband but after that he will be leaving too. Lifetime do better and get better staff. That’s ridiculous!
I put the fence in and painted it around the whole property. If there was very nice and even managed to not touch the wet paint. Very clean facility very large facility
I enjoy the gym for the most part. However, all of the fitness classes are filling up quickly! Will LT be adding more classes so more members can attend??
Always enjoy going here, but the pricing is getting out of hand. They follow COVID rules really well, which helps. Otherwise, very nice facility and equipment.
Love this place!! Very clean! And they have an amazing spa! They are very caring to their customers. Go see Barbara for your hair, shes amazing!
Earlier this afternoon me and my husband went to lifetime where my husband was caught laying on the ground from his leg pains (due to the wars not from him working out) when a worker ran up to him by the name of Carsen and asked him if he was ok and if he would like him to call someone, my husband said no but thank you, Carsen responded saying ok but the least thing he can do is help him get to his car, which he did. I will continue to renew my membership each month and tell people how great this club is. Please thank that young man for helping my husband and tell him to thank whoever raised him because they don’t make them like him anymore.
It;s a good quality club they have many options on what you would like to do there I love it here
Dawn is the best at eyebrows!
This place is awesome. They have very inexpensive monthly dues. All the areas are bright and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. The equipment is well maintained. The pool is always a comfortable temperature.
I do love Life Time Fitness! Sad that is paused for four weeks but understand the importance of community wellbeing. Will be back right when I can! I also go very early in the morning to beat the crowd! Look forward to returning!
Recently joined, the staff has been exceptional with helping me around the place. They are maintaining strict guidelines for face covering and liquid sanitary bottles are all over the place.
Awesome club, facilities, and staff.
Great experience post pandemic
Love the outdoor pool at Lifetime in lakeville. Theyre constantly walking around cleaning the handrails and seats. I feel super safe during this time there. Plus the atmosphere is great.
Good club. Covid rules are ridiculous. I understand it is not their fault.
Definitely my favorite gym I’ve been a member of. The staff is friendly and helpful, the equipment is clean and well taken care of, and they have everything you would need and more. It feels refreshing walking in and walking out.
Used to be a great place to go...now it sucks because of mask policies that overide every thing including conversation and common sense!
The parking lot is crazy . People drive on the wrong side, dont watch where they are going, dont stop at the pedestrian walk way.
Would have gave it 5 stars, but the Sauna was unavailable due to covid.
Love the swimming lessons for the kids! I go super early in the morning to work out so Im never concerned about Covid-19. The locker rooms are nice, the equipment is maintained, and it is super clean.
I used to be a member here but the prices are constantly increasing and the environment is just not my style. Seems like they have gotten away from who they were.
Best place to go to before you go back home
I mean its a gym.. They have weights and a some treadmills. I just would like it if they went back to 24hrs. Lets be honest after 10p.m. its less then 50ppl in the gym, they can clean around 50ppl. Going overnight or late at night for me was the best because it wasnt so crowded but maybe thats just me..
Lifetime is now charging you to pay your membership. They are collecting money to collect money this is completely bogus. Not to mention how terrible their customer service is. And how rude I have been treated there lately. You can only use half the gym amenities yet you still have to pay full price. Total scam. They save money while you still pay for more.
Nice big place. My boy got a wart on his foot 2 days later.
Lifetime sent out an email about reopening and whether our family was comfortable returning to which we said no. A representative replied that they understand, etc. Then, today I see that my card was charged later that month anyways. The following month they auto added my kids back on the membership (something I did not authorize) and charged me significantly more. I saw this when reviewing my CC statement. After calling and speaking with someone there was no apology, empathy, etc. They just decided to start charging me again, and then re add my kids the following month and that was that. When voicing my concern for the first charge and then second larger charge I was told they sent out an email letting me know they were back open, which upon searching I found in my promo tab. Upon asking for a refund or something at least for the second month since I hadnt been going they declined and told me I could pay them a monthly fee to keep my membership on hold moving forward but could not get any of the charges refunded. They would however hold the current months charge and I could use that balance against future months.Overall it was just a pretty poor experience. To make matters worse when I asked about what the going rate is if I were to cancel and rejoin later I learned as a member who has been there since 2006, I pay $10 less than a brand new member per month. So why even be loyal at that point?
Great place to work out. Tons of equipment. Private showers. Pool and hot tubs.
Great place for tennis, just too expensive
This place IS everything its cracked up to be.
Nice, clean and has everything you want. Well, pre covin19 it did. Hours have been reduced dramatically and some of the amenities have been scaled back which is to be expected. Would have gave it a 5 star rating but the price is now too high for a health club with limited hours and scaled back amenities.
Canceling my membership was an absolute nightmare! No follow up from people there and they kept trying to charge my card MONTHS after canceling. I finally just contacted my CC and had them blocked. Lifetime will NEVER GET ANOTHER DIME FROM ME! You guys charge top dollar and provide sub par service. $$$$$ is all they care about
Love the pickleball crew at lifetime and the great friendly staff!
First time back since the shutdown. Admired the attention they give to social distancing and the place was very clean. Enjoyed the pool too!!
Clean, lots of amenities, and ample parking. Front desk staff friendly. Membership is not all inclusive. For example small groups and tennis courts are extra.
Nicer than the Y.
Super clean and loved taking the kids swimming on a Sunday
Its the lifetime gym and summer its great you get to workout and relax outside in the sun when your done and more.
My daughter went there while we put our family membership on hold and they charged us for the month. She was with 3 of her friends with membership and they didn’t even have her sign on with a guest pass. She’s a minor. Facility is not clean. Staff is rude.
Joel sucks
Forget the rest. Workout where its the best.
Ive been to many different gyms and this is still the best. Extremely clean, all the equipment you may need, and your insurance may cover it.
Is very clean and never had issue with equipment. Hot tub sauna and steam room are a huge bonus. Only reason not 5 stars is sometimes it is a little to packed.
Has adequate machines and such. Not enough for the number of people, but thats normalish. But for being the premier fitness gym, they cant seem to be able to afford air conditioning. Considering its about 70 a month or more, its kinda sad. Or maybe theyre just trying to give you the full sauna experience when you step through the doors?
So great to be at Life Time, very clean (as always), very safe. Ill be back regularly.
Love it here, great staff, clean locker room, equipment seems to always be in shape and plenty of it to share and go around.
Club is solid busy time is busy but good
Great facility, staff is very friendly. Some locations are in the old buildings with gym in the basement, this one has very specious gym with lots of daylight. Not every Lifetime have nice pools, this location has big pool outside and inside, hot tub, sauna and steam room. Highly recommend
Abhorrent treatment this morning. Completely mischaracterized what I said and she then argues with me. So I got agitated but did not raise my voice then she says why are you yelling at me. I ask for a manager and she says I’ll get one because I don’t feel safe. I walked into crazy town this morning. She should be fired.
One of the best gyms. Convenient location. 100% stacked with required modern facilities. The place is more secured and there is no complain about this gym.
Aqua aerobics in the outdoor pool and the pool were wonderful this morning !
I enjoy this facility a lot. The workers are friendly and always greet me by name (I know that my name comes up on their computer when they scan my card, but its still a nice personal touch). The machines are in excellent condition. What I am most impressed with, however, are the classes they offer and the trainers who teach those classes. They are so energetic and encouraging, and do not make you feel bad if you have to pause to give your body a rest because youre out of shape, like me! I can feel my fitness journey truly beginning, and I am happy to be embarking on it through Life Time Lakeville. Next step, a massage! :)
Way to expensive
This Life Time is freaking amazing. Its HUGE, always spotless, smells really good (I know, thats a weird feature for a gym), and the people are friendly. There is always a place to park and always a machine open when I want one. Its a great facility - my only complaint is that its far away from my home, but thats obviously not their fault.
DO NOT SIGN UP FOR A PERSONAL TRAINER PACKAGE! This is specifically about the personal training service. Purchased a package of 4 sessions with a trainer - I had a goal of getting in shape two months prior to an event. I spent 80% of my time chasing the trainer down to set up sessions. He blamed email, being busy, zero follow up. Programs he sent me were not on target for my goals. He even sent me a program for another client! Asked for a refund from his manager, who seemed like he was going to come through. He agreed that the original trainer totally dropped the ball, that it had been an issue and that he wanted to make it right. He said hed even train me himself. Refunded 1 session (I gave up with trying to set it up with the original trainer because he would not get back to me) but they wouldnt refund the other 3 because they said it was a package. He said he would make it right and would follow up with a new plan for me by a specific date and time. I HAD TO FOLLOW UP ON THE STATUS with him as he never got back to me. He failed to follow through too. What can I do? They already have my money and know I cant commit to additional sessions because I of another event I have coming up that doesnt allow me to commit to personal training. I wasted 2 months of my time with a trainer that didnt deliver as well as well over $300.
The doctors seem like they would be great. However they gave me a terrible experience. While doing the initial exam they had me move to test functionality/mobility/etc and moved things for me that shouldn’t have been moved, giving me a migraine. Then they had no times to adjust me and wouldn’t adjust me until I do a whole appointment for “plan of care,” knowing that they have no availability when they caused a migraine and pain preventing me from being able to even make it through a yoga class, let alone work out. 0/0 stars. Would not recommend.
Nice facility with quality equipment but it’s too cramped. Every machine is ten inches away from the next machine. Dudes also take full court pick-up basketball way too seriously and ruin the entire experience of playing. I’m definitely paying too much to come to this gym.
Great place! The guys who run it know the business and are on their game. Down to earth and exclusive at the same time.
I definitely recommend great costumer service, many things for kids to do, fun pool and many more things :))
Clean facilities. Friendly staff.
Temperature checks before you get in, and hand sanitizer all around.
Although I no longer live in the Minneapolis area, I had moved up there for two years after accepting a position to be a part of the U.S. Bank Stadium project. During this timeframe I knew only a handful of people from my college days and, after working long hours in downtown Minneapolis, I needed a mental break as well as exercise to relieve some of the stress I was under at work. I was living in Apple Valley at the time and decided the 8-mile drive to Life Time Lakeville would be worth a shot. I was right! Honestly: this was the BEST decision I could have made for myself. Not only did I get back into great shape I also made some lifelong friends in the process. I have read some of the negative reviews but based only on my personal experience I must give this facility 5 stars and I do it without hesitation. Life Time was far more than a gym to me. It was a place I could go to get a good run in when the temps were below zero. A place where I could lift weights without creeps bothering me (trust me, it happens in a lot of gyms). A place to meet up with new friends for a workout followed by a light dinner in the cafe or a few drinks at a local restaurant. It was always clean, the employees were always friendly and there were ALWAYS machines available. Most of the male members were friendly and I was never uncomfortable. And to this day Im still close friends with a couple of women who worked there (and still do) and that includes my trainer. After leaving Minnesota I relocated back to Florida and for a year joined the Life Time in Boca Raton. Although that experience is for an entirely different review, suffice it to say it was an utter disappointment across the board when compared to Lakeville. If I were to move back to Minnesota as part of another career move I would, hands down, re-join a Life Time facility up there. Highly recommend.
Your fees will go towards building a brand new facility in a different city. The upkeep of this building is really bad. Broken equipment wont get repaired. Promises of replacing with new stuff wont happen. The lockers are all some degree of broken (seriously, I have to check every key since so many of them are missing the number or safety pin). The trainers are nice, but dont get much information from management.Lifetime, heres how you fix this:- Replace the lockers with something designed for commercial use.- Repair all of the broken cardio equipment.- Do a seasonal deep clean. Wipe down all the weigh racks. Seriously, look up at the ceiling. Its gross. Were all breathing that.
Could be better for the price. The (usually packed) weightlifting area is only a small fraction of the gym. But the steam room is 👌
Most times there is always something broken and the members are just slobs most of the time. They are not set up to support weight loss or strength trianing unless you already know what you are doing. Most of the staff are straight out of college and are guessing at solusions so I wouldnt say they are professionals. I have had multiple types of training sessions and if you lose the piece of paper from the session and dont memorize it sight on scene you wont be able to learn to do the workout yourself. The facility itself is the nicest in the area but they dont have any competition other that the 24 hour no frills type facilities. If you cant be there betwenn 10am-2pm youll miss out on most of the fun classes so thats not a real value other than weekends they have a few. Not everyhting is included even though this is a very expensive gym for what you get. If you want to go to another lifetime well thats when the real fun begins. Each gym is given a level and if your membership is not at the same level they will treat you like you were a beggar asking for some spare change. Good luck figuring out what gym you can use and those you are not worthy to enter..
Vary nice and overall a good gym. Not unclean unless you catch a really busy time and there are Eton many people. Otherwise love to go there and very very clean.
Loved it
Love this gym and the staff is what makes it even better.
Lifetime in Lakeville is their largest facility in the United States. The joining process was easy and not pushy. They recently added two indoor soccer fields, the first Lifetime facility in the country to have them. The equipment is clean and there is staff available for questions. My kids are looking forward to utilizing the outdoor pool.
Nice facility and all...BUT...they make it a big hassle to cancel as you come into the club or send a certified letter of cancellation through the mail, yes the mail. I get it...make it as hard as you can to cancel an account and you make more money.
This facility is amazing. The weight room is clean, lots of different environments from tennis to a pool, hot tub, lap pool, family swim, andthr main attraction is there stellar child care. Its clean, reasonably priced for what you receive, and have lots of extras like a basketball court, artial arts and a slew of others. Top notch, friendly and safe environment and the community is great as well. Highly recommend.
Awesome gym, basketball courts, and tennis courts that also work for pickleball.
Wonderful place, Ive been going here for months. I love the workout classes!
Love the gym, the pool and cafe.
They need to limit the amount of people that can go in or make everyone wear masks. Too crowded with this pandemic going on and no one wipes up after themselves.
But the Apple valley location is a broadband dead zone.
Clean facilities all the time and friendly staff
Clean, friendly staff, knowledgeable trainers.
Ok so I just moved from Boston. I was an Equinox member out there. I live halfway between the Eagan location and the Lakeville location. But I joined Lifetime in Sacramento California I’m vacation. Between Eagan and Lakeville I choose Lakeville. Upon joining I received 65 LT bucks which I used to get a cut and deep conditioning. All I did was tip! And I still have 11 left! AMAZING! Also they have a lash extension specialist (so now I don’t have to drive to Brooklyn park to get em filled) Lakeville is BIGGER, more updated and modern, has an entirely separate kids wadding pool and a king sized double hot tub with a genderless Sauna. Some clubs have separate men’s and women’s. Anyhow. Great experiences at Lakeville! Super impressed with how on top of it they are at keeping the locker rooms and pool area floors dry (which I couldn’t say for Eagan)I’m also 34, and have a massive cesarean scar but I didn’t feel judged or insecure which I definitely felt at Equinox in Boston. That is all! Pick Lakeville!
One of the BEST GOLD Life Time Fitness gym. Lockers are clean, great classes, kind and attentive staff member and that big pool is such a gem. We love this gym.
LTF have not gave members any options to suspend membership without a charge, it’s like forcing members to either pay to come in. Not professional.
Amazing place for sports. It offers good facilities like basketball courts climbing tennis courts. The steam room is amazing.
Music videos from the televisions often play lewd music videos and generally not much variety in the music. Aside from the music you hear throughout the adult gym, bring your headphones and its an amazing place to work out and even have a squash court and a boxing/kickboxing like area which I was surprised by.
Nice facilities clean and well managed.Yoga classes are overbooked and hard to get in to. Brought this to the attention of the management staff, but no response.Even if you cant do anything about it, you still owe your customer a response.
Amazing gym! Ive been working out here every night for over a year and people take the time to get to know you and keep it clean. Love it!
