Kleins Chimney Service removed our old woodburning stove and installed a new Regency stove, taking care not to damage our wood floors or anything else. They were patient with questions and kept in communication about delivery times, etc. Would highly recommend.

Rodney is very professional, extremely knowledgeable, and friendly. He did an excellent job explaining as he worked, and answered all of my questions afterward too. He even took the time to inspect both the outside and underground areas relevant to the fireplace as well. I highly recommend Kleins and will definitely be using their services again.

They were early which was just fine w us. They showed us what was causing our bad downdraft. I believe they cleaned the chimney but. ..concern is they took down the inside pipe they said needed to be replaced but they did not talk w me about that. I did not know until after they left!! Told my husband they did not hv one to replace it so my wood stove still does not work??? They said they are busy and can’t get back to me for a month..... ??? They did not tell either of us what was wrong w the pipe.. now it’s gone. I would appreciate follow up in a timely manner but now I’m worried because it took me six months to get an appointment for this visit.... thank you.

Review for Klein Chimney Service (Springfield IL) :They were friendly and knowledgeable. Rod explained the work he was doing to get my gas fireplace operational, answered questions I had, pointed out a basement shut-off valve I had not been aware of, etc. Great service! But plan ahead, they are busy so you may have to book your service call well in advance. Also good communication, with text and a phone call to verify the appointment and keep us updated on expected arrival time. (Dont know why Google has attached this review to a an entirely different company in another state.)

The Klein Chimney service did a wonderful job on cleaning and sweeping our chimney. They also did made sure that things were okay up top and repaired or restored what needed to be done. They also showed us some new things our fireplace could do that now allows us to save some money on gas bill ! Appreciate the professionalism and knowledge! 5 for 5

We really appreciated their professionalism, vast knowledge, cleanliness(from COVID & in our home) and all around nice people. They found a couple big issues with our chimney (that our home inspector completely missed when we bought our home 6 months prior) and took the time to explain what was going on, the precautions we should take and who we should contact for a solution. I want to note, they will not profit in anyway when we go to fix the issues they pointed out. All around great experience and we will use them again should any other issues arise in the future.

Everyone I spoke with both over the phone and in person were great. They had to schedule my appointment about 6 weeks out, but sent reminders and also called ahead of time to remind me. They happened to be running a little behind on the day of my appointment but made sure to call ahead to let me know and again when they were on the way. Blaine was the one servicing my chimney. He was both thorough and very educational. Helping me to understand how to better use and maintain our chimney. I will definitely be using them in the future.

My girlfriend’s mom had them come out and performed a chimney cleaning. They did a good job but recommended a replacement air cooled chase cap and talked her into ordering one for each of two chimneys at 1500 each. These are available for much less elsewhere. The order was fortunately cancelled in time. Be aware of the high pressure up sell!

Chimney sweeps are good and get the job done right. My sweep was 15 min late which isn’t horrible but still late. I give them a 4 Star due to the quotes repair of $2500 which was brought down to $1800 after heavy negotiating. Then I just did the work for $150 in parts. I will continue to work with them as they are good sweeps and affordable if just doing the cleaning portion.

We contacted Chimney Sweeps Inc for a cleaning of our chimney, a home we just bought a year ago. Prior to the cleaning, they climbed on the roof only to come down moments later announcing your fireplace is unsafe. Your termination system is unsafe, doesnt connect to pipes correctly, not air cooled per manufacturer. I was completed shocked and surprised. Why would any reputable company install a completely unsafe system? He would not provide me any answers, just that the system was unsafe. He went to his car, and it was almost like the quote was previously written, the cost $3100 to $3500. We contacted the previous owners and were told the chimney is fine, safe, and certified when installed. We had a second opinion from a different chimney company were told the chimney is fine, the pipes are connected fine, and he knew the company who gave us the estimate, quoting I know this company and this is what they do! They are dishonest. Do not do business with them. I wouldnt even give one star but had to just to post these comments.

I have been working with Chimney Sweeps, Inc. for the last two-three years. Initially, my chimney required extensive repairs. (I use my fireplace regularly during cold weather.) Thereafter, inspections have produced a thumbs up regarding the stability of the structure. Additionally, during an annual inspection, the technician advised that the chimney did not require a cleaning and did not proceed. This is a family-owned business that cares for its customers and values the potential of long-term customers. From the office staff to the technicians, I have found them to be courteous, fair and honest!

Chimney Sweeps have provided chimney and fireplace services for our two fireplaces annually for several years. Their personnel are professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. Though cleaning chimneys of a seasons worth of soot is by its nature a dirty job, Chimney Sweeps take exceptional care to ensure everything is contained and the fireplaces and hearths are left in perfectly clean condition. Additionally, Chimney Sweeps provide valuable information on the condition of the chimneys and fireplaces, offering products and services appropriate to correct dangerous conditions; or to preclude further damage.

They cleaned my chimney 4 years ago and the service was good. The problem that I have is the fact that this company has continued to contact me, and now harass me about cleaning my chimney after I have repeatedly requested not to be contacted. The year after my service I asked to not be contacted again. Still every year they call, not just once but over and over. Every year I ask to be taken off the list, still I get called. So once a again this year the hounding phone calls have come in. I am writing this review after just hanging up with a very pushy sales/appointment person who in my opinion was beyond unprofessional. In summary todays experience, I answered the phone call after the caller id announced it was a private caller (usually the company name comes across). When the rep asked to schedule an appointment, I once again decline the service. I politely told him that I have the correct equipment now and clean the chimney myself and dont need their services. The caller informs me that its not about the cleaning but the required inspection. I inform the caller that Ive had a wood burning stove for 20+ years and have never heard of this. I acknowledge that there might be some code or requirement that is cited but honestly, since my insurance company doesnt require it nor do any of my firefighter friends bug me about this, it is not something that Im going to pay for. At this time the sales guy berates me for not getting an Inspection. I politely tell him no and try to get off the phone with him by telling him i can not afford it. At this point the caller asks me if I know how to inspect a chimney and I am capable of making a visual inspection. He proceeds to tell me I should work for him because at least I would make enough to pay him to inspect my chimney. Im starting to get a little annoyed at this point and express my opinions on the unprofessional way the caller was treating me, a couple of other thing were said and the caller proceeded to hang up. I am thoroughly disgusted in the way this company has proceeded to contact me, even after being requested to stop however, todays experience was completely unacceptable. I would never do business with this company again!

I called to have chimney cleaned by Chimney Sweeps and was able to set up an appointment for the next week. Ariel came out and was very informative. He cleaned my chimney and found some repairs that needed to be done. I was able afford to get a new crown repair. But he said my roof vents were cracking. I couldnt afford to get them fixed but he went ahead and sealed up two that were the worst and said I really should get them done right next year. I am very impressed and highly recommend them. Thanks Chimney Sweeps.

Had my two Chimneys serviced by Chimney Sweeps, Inc, they did a really good job, no mess, no hassle and the chimney doesnt give off an odor anymore. One of my chimneys didnt have a cap on it to keep out the rain and critters so they installed an very nice cap and spark-arrestor for me the same day. The service tech Steve and his assistant were both very nice and looked trustworthy. I would have no problem referring them to my friends and family .

Called offering special reduced rate.Thought it might be a chap we used several yrs ago,so said ok .Checked from inside and said it was ok, Then he put up the ladder to check the chimney outside cap [chase] and told me it had to be replaced since it was unsafe and improperly installed. He said i needed to install his stainless steel chase as galvanized was no good .Price:$1850.00 .Not trusting his appraisal I call a local chimney co. who has been in business for over 50 yrs. and asked them to take a look. Diagnosis ? properly installed and excellent condition . they never install stainless inland since zinc lasts so long. {like mine] If I did want stainless it would cost, $350. You decide.

My grandmother has used Chimney Sweeps for several years to clean her chimney. They did an inspection and said she needed extensive work around the stove pipe to keep it from leaking. Her quote was over $1000.00 for the work. My dad is a contractor and he looked at it. The stove pipe was not in need of repair. He spent $25.00, in tools and material, and completed some prevention, which took about an hour.My concern is that the estmimator has exagerated the work that is needed to my elderly grandmother. She does not have the mobility to climb on the roof the see what he’s talking about. Further, the estimator reported his findings in such a way as to cause my grandmother unnecessary concern and worry about water leaks on the winter. This experience has been a reminder to me of the importance of advocating and supporting our elders.

Last December they attempted to pressure me into an expensive repair to the top exterior of my chimney. I got it fixed for much less from another company and Chimney Sweeps actually said they were the only ones in area to make this type of repair. Why do I write the review now, a year later. Gary had the audacity to call and schedule another appointment even after I complained to Angies List where I got their name a year ago. I suggest you avoid this company or at the least get a secondary opinion for any work they say should be done.

Had them come to do a cleaning and safety inspection. They said our home inspector was incorrect and we didnt need the cleaning hed recommended. So they didnt clean anything (not even the fireplace). The safety inspection didnt take long, but ended up with the recommendation of nearly $3,500 worth of repairs (only about $2,000 were urgent). The sweep offered 10% if we agreed to the repairs now and just happened to have all the materials needed on his truck. Id made arrangements to be home during the day for the appointment - my husband wasnt around. I explained I was uncomfortable making a decision about spending a couple thousand dollars without talking to him. The sweep asked me to call him. I said Id rather talk to him. He really, really wanted me to make a decision today - even offered 15% off if I did (after spending 15 minutes or so out in his truck talking to the boss after I told him I wasnt going to commit to spending that kind of money without talking to my spouse). The pressure was a red flag, so I declined to get anything at the time, then spent a few days talking to a few different companies to get their take on it. The consensus was that the repairs he was offering to do were going to be needed eventually - but not immediately - that the solutions he was offering were far more than what we needed - and that even if we had them done, they would cost less than the price we were quoted - even with the discounts. At the beginning of the appointment, the sweep said that the deal was for an inspection and cleaning - and that if nothing needed to be cleaned we could either apply the difference between what wed paid and what an inspection typically cost towards any repairs we asked them to make or wed get refunded. We still havent been refunded.Upon reaching out to the owner to inquire, it was suggested that maybe I was supposed to ask Angies List for the refund. (AngiesList wasnt all that interested in helping out because we were a few days past the cut-off of their 30-day guarantee... So this is the first and last deal well be purchasing from them as well. Weve definitely been better served with providers weve found on HomeAdvisor, through personal recommendations, and via conversations weve had on NextDoor.)So - essentially, we spent $80 to have someone come out and try to convince us to spend $2,500 on repairs to fix a problem that we eventually fixed for $100. We didnt even get a clean fireplace out of the deal (perhaps I was naive in assuming that was part of the cleaning package. If Id known there would be no refund for not having a cleaning performed, I probably would have made a bigger point about asking about it at the time. Lesson learned.)The company was prompt, professional, and responsive right up until the appointment. At that time, it felt more like a sales call than an inspection - which is not what we ordered.I dont blame the poor sweep who showed up. Its not his company and he was just doing his job. I wish Id at least had a dirty chimney so I could feel like I got something out of the deal. As it was, I spent $80 to learn not to work with this company again.Update - 11/23Just received a $30 refund for the cleaning part of the service. Still wouldnt recommend the company based on the sales tactics, but appreciate the refund. Even it if took a while to get.

They came out and tried to upcharge me for new roof vents even after I had a roofer repair them. They didnt carry a gas key for the fireplaces so they could not check the starters. Lastly, when the house was in escrow after the Chimney Sweeps inspection, the escrow home inspector found a cracked back plate in one of the fireplaces that Chimney Sweeps did not find. Terrible.
