Came in with a last minute emergency alteration that I needed done, and they were so incredibly helpful! They were able to get my dress done the same day, within a few short hours, and they made it seem like it was no big deal at all. Very friendly and efficient staff and they do quality work. Highly recommended if you need alterations done, especially if you have a tight timeline.

I had an urgent need for alterations. Its my sons wedding and I was heading out of town in 2 days. These ladies are amazing!!! They had my pants hemmed in less than 30 minutes! Sewbox has been great. I dropped off my wedding dress. I went back for a fitting and for them to finalize and its so close to perfect. I cant wait to see when its done.

Awesome! Came to get 3 pants altered and needed it done the next day! They only charged a small fee for picking it up the next day and overall the prices were very reasonable and the pants turned out perfect! Staff were very friendly and I will be back if I ever need anything else done!

Left work early, drove a long way to get there and they didnt even have my appointment written down. She asked if I could wait 30 minutes or less...not much choice. I waited an hour and she still wasnt ready for me. Took my dress and left. Waste of time off work, gas and aggravation! I do not recommend!

Heard great things about Sewbox but when i took my formal gown in to take up the hem i was shocked at $107. So I took it elsewhere and paid $55.

Completely changed the back of my wedding dress to where it was unfixable. Mot what I asked for. They wanted to take a shortcut which ruined it. Maybe bring small things to them but nothing important.

I have used SewBox twice so far. Once was to hem a few pairs of pants and once was to shorten the length of a designer dress with a tricky shark bite detail. Zero issues.

Not good. It cost $28 and 5 days to have 3 patches sewn onto denim jacket... incorrectly.All the patches were misaligned and/or out of place. They offered to correct the issue immediately, but that turned into several more failed attempts. I finally said, Yeah, its fine., but it was not fine. Ill have to have it redone somewhere else.

Have gotten two bridesmaid dresses altered here and both were done perfectly! Just dress hems but both the mom and the daughter that have fitted me are super kind and professional. Both dresses had to be done in less than a week and never had a problem with getting the dress done in that time frame. Definitely come here if you’re looking for a friendly professional place to get the dress altered!

Im only 52, so practically everything I buy has to be hemmed. Ive been trusting her for years with my alterations from simple hems to changing necklines and taking in dresses! Shes never disappointed me! Excellent quality work and amazing customer service! I recommend her to everyone!!

Jenny is amazing! I had to buy a wedding dress of the rack due to time constraints, and she was able to bring a ball gown 3 sizes down to fit me perfectly! It only took an initial and final fitting. They are very affordable, professional and talented. I highly recommend!

I brought in my wedding dress to be altered about 2 months before my wedding. I dont have much of a dress body, so I wasnt in love with my dress. My next to last fitting, I asked if she could completely remove the sleeves. She did it in less than a week! Now I LOVE my dress and it was affordable too! I dont plan on getting married again, but if I need more alterations, Ill definitely bring my business back!

Several times, I have tried to get pants hemmed there and when I pick them up and go to try them on, they are way shorter than how she pinned them. The last time I asked for a pair of pants to be taken up at the waist and hemmed. When I got home they had been hemmed and we’re way too short and the waist had not been taken up at all. I won’t go back.Also, very expensive compared to others. This place used to be excellent ...but in the past year or so, has really gone down hill in the quality of service.

Helens Alterations has been doing alterations, mostly on my cycling apparel, for a couple of years. If an item is not quite right, they will do it over at no extra cost. Jenny and her daughter Juliana are always friendly and helpful.

Did a great job with hemming my wedding dress and in a timely matter. Worked with me as I came a little under a month before my wedding to get my dress altered. Was okay on the price. Did however later notice one of the buttons on my dress had fallen off when she returned my gown but it was in a place you really couldnt notice and I was too busy to go back and see if she had found it. She also bustled my dress and that was good as well.

I had a great experience here. I brought in a tuxedo purchased online to have it altered for a gala in DC. I was asked how soon I needed it (within a week) and shown to a curtained dressing room. Upon emerging, I was promptly asked what I wanted specifically, while having hem-lengths marked, among other standard adjustments.Within the time specified, the alterations requested were made perfectly.At the gala, I received many compliments on my appearance.Price was slightly higher than I anticipated, but I credit this to my relative inexperience with alterations. The work was absolutely worth the cost, and I will bring any future alterations work here, as well as recommend them to my friends in the area.

I needed a pair of jeans hemmed. I went in, put them on so she could measure, was out in 5 minutes. Picked my pants up the next week and was pleasantly surprised that she matched the color of the thread. Perfect fit and reasonable price.

They charged me when I dropped off my item and when I went to pick it up they forgot about it and lied to my face. She followed with come back In 2 hours. It was an expedited item (paid more) and I had to fight with her to get the money and dress back. Will never go back. It is bad business all around when you go to Sewbox. I’d try Executive cleaners. Their alterations are very good but she didn’t have time for this particular dress. Apparently neither did Sewbox...

DONT GO TO THIS PLACE!I have been a good regular customer to this place for years and had sent them lots of business. I wasnt able to pick a suit I paid over $100 on time. I am well aware of their over thirty day policy but I had gone there about a month before to let her know that I would pick up my suit soon and I thought that being a regular customer that she would wait for me. Long story short, I went to pick up my suit today for a big event I have this weekend to come and find out they had gotten rid off my suit! Thanks a lot Jenny! Needless to say I wont be back ever again or send you any more business!

Ive been here twice for alterations, and both times Ive left a very happy customer.

Worst Alteration business ever. First the charge you upfront to make pants shorter, then the let you wait 2 weeks for just one pant, and finally the didnt do anything, the pants still had same length like I gave it to them. Then the said we can adjust, it cost you another $17 dollar then I had enough. Ill never use this place again and I suggest find any another Alteration place not this one, cause this is the worst of the worst !

This shop began life as Helens and the service was good. The shop was bought out by Kimberly but retained the name of Helens and the work was good .This year the shop was bought out by Jenny and the work is very bad most of the time. Ive had four pairs of pants hemmed up over the last four or five months and they cut the hems off so short that they had to piece hem tape on the bottom of two pairs, another pair was too short but I wore it anyway. But two weeks ago I suffered the last insult...a pair of brand new palazzo pants from Chicos were cut up to my ankle bone. Jenny and I huffed and puffed and I got my credit card issuer on the phone while in her shop to protest the charge. Jenny tried to make me get out of her shop to make the call. Finally she gave me a refund for the alterations plus the cost of the pants...but not until my credit card company said they would begin a dispute. Even though Jenny paid for the pants, she did not reimburse me for four skirts that I had taken into the shop at the sme time as the palazzo pants. The skirts were to have the waists taken in and the hems taken up. She took up the hems, but the waists were not touched. She would not refund any of the money shes charged for the skirts. Steer clear of this place now. Oh, there was another woman in the shop the day I brought my garments in. That woman tried on the pants that the shop had altered and they were unbelievably tight in the hip and buttock area. The woman complained that she had specified that the pants be tapered in from the knees down and instead the legs were still wide, and the hip/buttock area was terrible and she didnt see how they could be repaired, but she did leave the pants to see what the shop could do. Honestly, there was no way they could be let out enough, but Jenny insisted on trying. So....take your alterations elsewhere.

Poor experience with alterations to my wedding dress. I should say firstly that I was a totally laid-back bride about all my planning, so my experience is not skewed by Bridezilla perspective. So, I took my dress to Helens 15 days in advance of the day I wanted it completed... On the day it was promised, I went to pick it up and was told it wasnt even started. They apologized and explained they were working 12-14 hours a day on alterations because of prom. I was gracious and agreed to pick up my dress the next day. I still had a week to go before my wedding anyway. So when I returned, I tried the dress and found it to be well-fitting. But then I noticed at least a dozen spots of blue ink on the front and back of the skirt. Thinking this was probably just tailors ink that should disappear, I asked how to get them out. I was told, Maybe a little water... But Im not even sure we made these spots. I assured the tailor that I brought in a brand new, spotless dress, so the spots were absolutely made by them. They made an offer to have my dress dry cleaned the next Monday (this was on a weekend day), so I agreed to pick up my dress on Tuesday... 4 days before my wedding. In the meantime, not knowing whether the spots would come out, I had to go shopping for a back-up dress that I could wear, just in case. Tuesday, I returned to Helens and the spots had NOT come out. They had faded slightly, and Helens suggested that Maybe it would be fine to wear since it wasnt that noticeable. They then proceeded to ring up my balance for the alterations... After ruining my dress?!? They stated again that they werent sure they made the spots. I was unhappy about this because my husbands wedding attire was also at Helens for alterations (although his alterations also were not started 4 days before our wedding), and I politely requested the return of my husbands garments. Ultimately, they did not charge me for the alterations to my dress. They offered to pay the bill at another cleaner of my choice...I was told this was a wedding gift because they like to have happy customers. Ultimately, I would have been happiest with a gift of an ink-free dress from the start. I was able to have Southside Cleaners successfully remove the ink from my dress... Southside used a special ink removing chemical. They told me the other dry cleaning place that Helens used only dry cleaned the dress without even trying to removing the stains. So I dont know if Helens even asked them to give the stains extra attention. On the day of my wedding, I put in my dress and found that the cups Id had Helens add (cost = $25) were tacked in by three tiny stitches that had come loose...I could have done better myself. It was truly pathetic. I had to used double-sided tape to stick then inside the dress for my wedding. Helens gets two stars from me only because my husbands garments were done on time and his clothes fit him well. But after my experience, I wont be back to Helens.

I have had several articles of clothing altered, including shortening sleeves on a dress shirt and blazer, sewing on patches, and heming of jeans and trousers. Each time the results have been spot on and the service is always excellent.
