They are definitely amazing in my book. They are extremely helpful, nice, caring,I like that they reach out to help people and never, ever give off any negative vibes. Warmth comes to mind. Right from the start they make you feel like your one of their own.
As a current Sykes employee, I must say that our company culture sets us apart from others, in my opinion. One of the things I took home from my first week when I was a new employee was the shock that literally everyone I came in contact with seemed to thoroughly enjoy being here. As someone who has always worked corporate jobs and had to really button up and dress professionally daily, I think its amazing that we are able to let our personalities shine through and just be ourselves at Sykes; this is a very welcoming and all inclusive company to work for.
SYKES Lakeland is filled with strong leaders who create a really great environment for everyone. There are events and activities often, and you feel cared about when you work here. The hiring experience is quick and easy and the team is really helpful and communicative throughout the process. I would highly recommend working here!
Needs a little more attention per docks rebuilt and things like that. The restrooms could be taken better care of as well.
Very informative, explanatory and easy to navigate through.
It is an amazing experience working with Sykes enterprise. I love it there and the people putting in the hard work there are even more amazing! 💞
Sykes in Lakeland Florida is an amazing place to work. We have a fun and energetic team. Even though we are all working from home we still find ways to make the job fun.
I feel sorry for the employees that were locked out of the building today. What a disgrace Sykes! What a disgrace! YIKES!!!
Worked for them for 3 years, decent employers at the time.
Great place my daughter works here
Used to work here for almost 4 years. I love the call center environment but I had to leave after working the in the call center environment for 20 years now or almost.I needed to put my degrees to work now in the Health Care Industry.Sykes Enterprises needs to have a better idea of what to do for the employees to stay and promoting them from within along with showing that they do care about the employees and not just numbers and money oh and their contracts with the companies that our the clients. You are more than welcome to reply back to me.
Great evening with my co workers
Im almost finishing up training for att with amber as trainer. The best training by far. Very thorough and by the books. I am 100% confident that when I get out on the floor Ill be ready. This job is a call center job not everyone can handle it. Im hoping for a great career here.
Im going to tell it like it is... I was hired in October for a temp position that was supposed to go to the end of December. The trainers didnt know what they were doing and when we got to the production floor we just sat there and played games there werent any calls so they said. My temp status was over in early December and then I went to the Sales side of it. It seemed great at first but they think it is acceptable to blast music while taking calls from customers. When I complained about it I was told this is the way Sykes is and basically that I had to deal with it. 100% unprofessional in many ways. Do not waste your time. I was warned and didnt listen. I was told to tell customers wrong information and my floor support even hung up on a customer. So many things are happening in this place and nothing is being done. This is not how a business needs to be run.
Work wise, way to much pressure to sell Direct TV packages with basically no guidance to help. Then there is the fact that your commission isnt worth the pressure they place on you. They also treat calling-out as a crime, no matter the reason. The employees are great though, you feel like a family...though some people treat it like High school. But they are very courteous to their trans employees.
Still in first four weeks of training but so far the people have been nice many employees dont last long but it seems they didnt know what they signed up for. But Sykes does have the worst employee hiring process not to mention I havent been paid for my work yet nor have I received a check it seems like management doesnt care at all but at least the people I personally work with are cool.
I worked in the ATT department for over a year. Management does not care about customer service, only sales. You are expected to offer on every call and if you dont you get written up. Management is very poor here. Favoritism plays a big part in trying to move up. Sales goal and commission changes every month. Ive been cheated out of hundreds of dollars in potential pay. This place is only good as a short term job.
Not a bad place to work. Their training does leave something to be desired. A little strange. I feel they should mAke the learning process more open and give more feedback and training. Its like they know the answers but dont care to help under the guise of you learning for yourself and all that. Cool, but help me to myself at least, ya know. Wouldnt ask if it was something I could find. Aside from that, good place. Room for growth and advancement and money!
Nice work atmosphere, people care about your success, professional environment i really enjoy working here.
I have tried to become employed by SYKES 2 times, passed the assessments and did 2 interviews. I keep getting emails about employment opportunities, yet nothing ever comes from it. I try to call them directly and get some answers, and the phone always rings busy, and I am never directed where I need to go. Not only that, I have found I was discriminated against by SYKES, never a strait answer, and always plays head games. They get your hopes up then dash them. They offer a position, then when you show aptitude above and beyond, they tend to not want nothing to do with you. Right now I work from home make OKAY money. But if I would have waited on SYKES, someone I really had high hopes for, I would still be unemployed to this day. I do not recommend SYKES to anyone that wishes for something stable and truthful. I am not a salesman, I am a businessman, BIG difference. I refuse to be thrust into sales and be told its either that or nothing at all. Well, I refuse to not be placed where im most valuable to the company. Either stop sending Employment opportunities to me with false hopes, or hire me for what I am best at and then we both can be happy. I will not bend for SYKES anymore.
I believe that this place offers great services as a call center. They offer good pay & good benefits but like all good things it comes with a price. The schedules arent always the best however they are worth it if a competitive pay is important to you and benefits. The place very flexible in other areas such as allowing the employees to have an opportunity for overtime. They strive to give quality service and in my opinion that is why many find it stressful. When you are required to speak to everyone nicely & pretend like all is okay when your trying to search for items or answer questions, while updating your system and it runs slow or you are simply having a bad day then it can get frustrating. The company understands that what the representatives do is hard and try to make up for it by providing a good pay, good benefits, and having conveniency such as a snack shop within the facilities. At times the clients that the company has provides the guidelines that need to be adhered (such as making sales) and there is not much they can do about it when its in a contract. The facility itself is pretty isolated and doesnt always have a guard however you are required to hav an Picture ID Badge with you at all times. You cannot just walk in either you have to have a badge to open the door or have the front desk open it for you. You must check in if your a guest so as far as security it is secure. The bathrooms are always clean. All in all I truly believe that the companies intention is good just not a job for everybody. (Note: I do not currently work here but I did so if policies or regulations have changed I wouldnt be aware. The job did not work out for me the schedule wasnt fit for my schedule however that doesnt mean you wont like it.)
I love my job, I love the people, the atmosphere, EVERYTHING! Everyone is nice, wants to see you succeed and they really do care. Tbh when I first went to orientation, I wasnt very excited going back to a call center and I expected it to be a living nightmare all over again, but Sykes really changed my mind once when training started. Nothing but positive vibes and fun! I highly recommend working here to anyone!
I went for an interview with Sykes around the beginning of September but the program that was available to work at the time did not interest me. The program I had wanted at the time had no spots to fill. After declining the job at the end of the interview, I was told to call back if I changed my mind. Fast forward to the beginning of November,. I contacted them back, went back in for an interview and the program I had wanted in the first place was available. Im so very glad they left the door open otherwise I would have missed my opportunity.
Carmen Maldonado from HR is the rudest nastiest person I have ever met. She seriously threatened to fire people during orientation if we asked her questions. And she tells us we work for her. I work for college-educated people with qualifications not someone like her, who is not even educated enough to hold the assistant HR position she has.
Had a great experience, people are kind and good environment!
Advertised as a customer service job with light selling. The truth is all they care about is selling products and theyll pressure you to do anything to sell or quit. Sales fraud is frequently encouraged.Upper management has no clue what actually happens on the floor and make decisions that consistently hurt their employees.HR is completely incompetent and you frequently have to fight to receive the bonuses you earned. If they get a chance there is a clear pattern of firing people right before a bonus is owed to them, as you forfeit the bonus if you are not employed there at the time they payout. Frequently employees are fired a couple days before the are supposed to receive their bonus check. For every 30 people they hire, maybe 1 or 2 last more than 6 months. Thats not a call center thing, thats a Sykes thing. One of the account managers is clearly a meth addict and has been caught drinking in the parking lot, but somehow hasnt been fired?TL;DR this place is a cesspool and McDonalds pays better without having your job threatened daily.
Training was not very adequate, you dont get live Hands-On system software training. They literally throw you to the Wolves during nesting. And they really dont have too much sympathy for you if you have doctors appointments or medical conditions. Commissions are very low but yet they push the importance of sales.
Worked there for two and a half years. Thankful to have had the job but it got old quickly. Too many changes to keep up with.
Training is horrible and not hands on. You basically sit there for almost 8 hours being lectured and I don’t learn like that. A lot of people don’t. And the trainer will give call demonstrations but will use the same scenario over and over again so I don’t know what all I could be handling on the phones. Also the equipment is half the time not working. Training computers are out of date and slow. When you clock in and out for lunches and stuff your ID card barely works and you’re always having trouble with your time card. Everything there is a mess. This is supposed to be a technological advanced company and it’s the worst company I ever worked for. The only good thing about it is it’s break room.
I work there. I love my job. Especially when you help someone make there day better.
GREAT PLACE FOR A CUSTOMER SERVICE JOB! ¡ALWAYS HIRING!
Great places to work very clean and even supports breast feeding has 3 lactation rooms love love love
I quit my former job to work for Sykes because I got hired by them. An me when I come in to start my training they tell me I cant start because of my background. I brought up my background issue on the first interview. So now Im stuck with no job and four kids to feed. Worst employment place ever. Very unprofessional.
If you need a job in a call center environment this is a good call center to start out in and work your way up even to other call centers etc.Sykes is currently hiring for all positions and departments in customer service and sales.Reference by: Armando Rubio in Health Net.
I love my job i have so much fun. While getting down to business. Its so live.
Very poor traning. You dont learn how to do anything until you get on the phone. Zero system navigation on how to complete tranactions. Its all reading and no hands on. THIS IS HIGH PRESURE SALES... DONT KID YOURSELF... YOURE PUSHING AT&T/DTV SERVICES while doing customer service. ALL types of ppl, most friendly...
I got a job at Sykes because i was looking for something that was better paying, and full time. From what the hiring team told me about sales that it was very minimum and easy to reach goals. They told me it was a Mainly Customer service and minor sales job. I took the job. They do a swab of your mouth drug test, and a background test. They make you take a Computer test which consists on basic math, and minor typing. once you past (very easy) they will give you an orientation date. Keep in mind to have an open schedule with training, because you can be training from like 7am-3pm or like 3-12 (Somewhere around those times). You can not pick your training schedule. Training is easy money and depending on which trainer you get (I had the best, Nester)it can be fun. After training is done, then you go to nesting. Nesting is where you will be on the floor taking phone calls under supervision and help of floor support. This can be very stressful, because you dont really know how to navigate too much. In order to move on from Nesting you must have perfect attendance, and you must make sales. Sales is the most stressful part. as long as you sell something, then you will more than likely move on. You can bid on schedules, but its not a guarantee that you will get it. After you move on then you will be put with a team upstairs. This is where it can get extremely stressful...you have to meet certain quotas. Your Team Leaders are ranked based on your performances. So if you do not make your Quota, it can become pretty tense. They care more about Sales than customer service. They do give you some offers to read on paper, but if a customer tells you no...you have to turn it into a yes. All of your calls are recorded and the TLs and TMs will listen and critique. If you do not improve then there will be write ups. If you miss work, you will not get occurrences if you make it up with a weeks time. I had Henry as TM, and Jay as a TL. Jay was always very nice to me. He really does try and help you as much as he can. He is very laid back, and even buys pizza etc if you do good. Henry can be very intimidating, but he is just trying to do his job and is an alright guy. Well i hope this review helps, i just wish they would have been more straight forward about the Sales from the beginning . I will say they did send me my personal time that i did not use in a check after i had put my notice in. That was very unexpected, and it came in handy because i am a single mother.
A great place to work if you are goal oriented and driven to succeed.
I absolutely love this site. I worked at the other sykes on Lake Parker and it was dreadful but Sykes on Griffin is amazing, fun, and filled with mostly positive people.
Just save your time and energy and look somewhere else
Money not that bad but they are always changing everything which sucks
So i got hired on the 14th of november. This i must say is the worst place iv ever worked for i was working from home . I was only given 2 weeks of training how in the hell . I was kicked out of training a few times due to there equipment not wanting to work . Then they throw you on the phones after a week and expect the two weeks of training they give you will be enough smh . Im with out a job now . I contacted HR and i still have yet to hear from anyone !! This place is joke ..
When I was hired on I was told the job description would be customer service and required to average about 2 sales a mth. After training and graduating to production, this was not true. The top sales people are liars who get recognized not based on the lies they told to sale, rather recognized for the amount of sales they do have. You can have perfect customer service but you will need to sale whether you can or not. Sales is NOT for everybody such as myself in which I have morals and certain standards that prohibit me from continuesly pushing and persuading people with company lies to sell them something they dont need and a lot of times they dont want. Favoritism is definitely displayed being that certain team leads have no business guiding and instructing others because they are either immature with a bad attitude or just promoted and recognized for all the lies they told these customers to get them to buy. Upper management knows aboutit but they dont acknowledge it and they are scammers themselves. I will give them 2 stars for an alright paycheck.
This has to be the worst Call Center I have ever worked for. Theres no wonder why theyre always Hiring. Back in 2014 I had an emergency surgery due to an ectopic pregnancy. They terminated me because I didnt call out every day I was out. But I did call the day I was going in for surgery and I spoke to the HR and she told me everything would be fine. Fast Foward 2weeks later I go in to see what documents theyll need. Got the documents. Then all of a sudden I wasnt allowed back for job abandonment. Smh this put me in a finiancial bind.. and I thought about getting a lawyer but I had too much to worry about finding a new job in pain to maintain my bills .
I love working here I get to meet great people here
Out of the way, good work environment
Pleasant I interviewed, nice atmosphere.
A great place to work. Only left bc I did not understand sales
Work there before realize it wasnt for me
Nice people working there
Not honest with employees n i fell on the steps n was told i had to be on drugs. Didnt they feel stupid when i took an on the spot drug test n PASSED
The WORST JOB ! DONT LET THESE RECRUITERS TRY TO PERSUADE YOU AND FOOL YOU AND REEL YOU IN .! I RATHER WORK AT 7 ELEVEN . SYKES ON GRIFFIN IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL . DO NOT LOWER YOUR STANDARDS TO WORK HERE . SAVE YOURSELF AND YOUR TIME
Horrible all around. Would never lower my standards to work for this place!
Terrible. Got treated like a middle schooler. Then got fired because I used the bathroom to Much due to Im 7 months pregnant. Worst company I have ever worked for.
Went in for an interview and got treated bad and got dirty looks because the dress I was wearing was “too short” to the lady from HR apparently (it was down to my knees BTW) did not get the job for that reason . If you think that someone’s outfit affects their way to work then you’re obviously not a company I want to work for anyways 🖕🏻🖕🏻
High demanding job, ok pay, bad management that was to worries about making money and socializing instead of taking care of both their employees and customers.
No Pokéstops nearby but lots of Pokemon in the parking lot.
I take people to work there sometime
Applied for job never heard back from them
A place where nightmares and corporate shills come to life.
Good business.
This is an agent for AT&T. You sell their service and DirecTV. RUN!
Terrible management, RUN AWAY FROM PAUL HES THE WORST
This has to be the worst poor managed company I have ever worked for . If you wanna get paid to go back to a high school environment this is the place for you & your principal (Carmen in HR) is the biggest child of them all . Place is ridiculous
I hate it here it’s very stressful if you do not know how to sell please look else where !!!
They ask a lot for little pay, only one CSR, job in Polk County, pays less,
