He was honest about what my car needed, and didnt charge me for services that I didnt need but thought I did. Will definitely be coming back for future repairs.

I use my car for my job so Im in constant need of maintenance and repairs. I have used at least 20 different auto repair shops in Lakeland and out of all of them Gary Thompson has been the most honest and professional mechanic. His prices are very reasonable and he takes the time to do the job right and he will even call you back and have you return with the car if he thinks something didnt live up to his expectations. Very likable guy and is very straightforward with no games gimmicks or bait and switches. If your car needs repair go to this guy first.

Could not fix my car after the second time I brought it to him Paid over a $1,000the first time and still did not solve the problem. So he sent me to Lakeland Nissan by way of tow truck twice for the same problem that was suppose to be fixed the first time. Then he decides he does want anything to do with my truck after he’d been paid. Told the lady over there to not call him anymore when he was the original person working on it and he’d asked them to run a diagnostic for him with some codes because he didn’t have the right machine Just not very professional. You live and you learn

Received a verbal estimate of about $875 for the transmission work on my truck. Dropped off my truck and they said they would call me. I didnt get the call from them for three days so I called. They had performed repairs and never provided me with a firm estimate. The bill was now over $1,260. When I picked up the truck the clutch was not working properly. I told the owner that it felt like it has air in the hydraulic clutch line. He claimed the clutch was working properly and basically said I didnt know what I was talking about. I have owned my truck for over 20 years and I can tell when there is air in the hydraulic clutch line. I took the truck to another mechanic to bleed the line. Now my clutch works properly. Bottom line, they treated me like I gave them a blank check, they didnt recognize the clutch was not working properly, they didnt show me the courtesy of a phone call, they didnt give me a written estimate, and they insulted me by not listening to my claim that the clutch line had air in it. It was a very sour experience and Ill never go back.

Weve went to Gary since 2011 and NEVER been disappointed with service there. I totally recommend this Repair Shop.

Took my car there for;; diagnosis;; ONLY.. for car not running good . call check two days later.. they have not found problem, but price $$$ GOING UP, WITH OUT CALLING ME....went got car in before price up, MORE, dashboard was off... say bulbs was out say they repair 2 bulbs,,even I no that wasnt the problem, I didnt ask fix bulbs and that didnt fix my car or tell what wrong,, Time and MONEY,, wasted.. BE Careful check the 1st,,,or,, 2nd box on left side of the work sheet before you sign and put the price in, get copy work order(,I didnt my mistake)..and THEY check #3 saying(;I do not request a written estimate) price can go up without you knowing....NOTE; THERE a difference between diagnosis and repair..

I work in Lakeland during the week so really needed a mechanic here. Gary was recommended by my colleagues and that has been a God send. He has worked on all my 3 of our vehicles within a three week period and is a one stop shop.I had a brake emergency with my RV on a Friday and although they were slammed and short handed they knew I was desperate. I couldnt drive it so they worked me in and finished it an hour before they said they could. Oh and get this they worked on it outside as they could not fit the RV in their shop.As long as they are in business and I am in Lakeland they will be my mechanic.

The owner of the shop personal informed me that my car should be repaired for $1,200. I ended up being charged for over $3,000 and the check engine light came on 10 miles down the road. Dont use or allow your family or friends to go to here. They should not be in the busy of repairing cars
