John and Brian were great to work with for the installation/replacement of almost 4000 sq ft of siding and installation of all new gutters. It looks beautiful (neighbors have made multiple comments) and we were fully impressed with their professionalism and timeliness from start to finish. I had seen Custom Installations performing work on another home on my street and liked the materials used and the way the roof work install was being performed. I called Custom Installation and Brian reviewed my homes cedar roof, gutters and flat roof. Brian noticed that the roof had storm damage and recommended the roof and gutters should be replaced. Brian worked through the whole project from inception to completion. Bob was on site prior and during the execution of the replacement to ensure the crew was performing the work to an excellence standard. Clayton updated on email every day as to what was going to be performed each day during installation. Brian, Bob and Clayton were always available for any questions. We called them up to just get a normal estimate, but that was just the beginning of a very fortunate journey!We worked primarily with our project manager Len who was simultaneously friendly, smart and professional. Len felt less like a project manager and more like a friend and roofing concierge. He kept the communications loop tightly closed between ourselves, Custom Installations and our insurance provider and was always available to answer questions via voice, text or e-mail. I have enough DIY curiosity to want to understand the installation of roofs and he was able to describe right down to the detail each piece, how it goes together, which nails, how far they are slotted, what its there for and why its valuable to go with one option versus the other, which metal to use when affixing this to that.. etc. No detail got by him.When it came to roofing selection, Len was able to guide us through the DaVinci Roofing System including having the appropriate gutters, downspouts, ridge vents, ice dam/water shield, synthetic underlayment and flashing/skylights included to ensure the job was done right with the right parts the first time.Before work started, Len put together an extensive and official long-form PDF contract with all of the terms outlined. The scope document was fairly written and easy to follow. No hidden conditions or confusing lingo! Here you can see Customs unique 10-year labor warranty. I talked to a dozen roofing contractors over the past 5 years and NOBODY ever estimated labor coverage for that long. These guys DEFINITELY plan to stand by their work and they have been around long enough for that to mean something!Later, I met Bob the Senior Site Supervisor who made sure all of the crews and materials were up to the task and well prepared for any circumstances they might encounter. Bob was also easy going and had an eye for detail. He even customized some copper prep for the open-drip-edge to fit a more functional-but-aesthetic profile when he saw a potentially awkward install situation weeks before the project even started. He was also always open to questions and fast to answer. He coordinated getting a subject matter expert (Erik) from the manufacturer DaVinci to visit the house and help the crew correctly address special areas. The crew already had expertise, but Bob bringing Erik to provide extra insights made me feel even better. It was a wise choice and another opportunity to see Customs resourcefulness!It was great to see every crew working. Nobody seemed stressed for work or time. Custom Installations has been working on repairs to several buildings in my townhouse community (roof, siding and gutter replacement). We are lucky to have Clayton Fritch manage our project. I had Custom Installations install a new door and frame for my sunroom. It was not an easy job as the previous home owners had done the work themselves and the door and frame was not square. Custom Installations was great they came out measured and ordered the door, the communication was excellent as to updates and availability. Custom Installations did an amazing job starting with Dave Burke who assisted us with our insurance claim for severe wind damage to our roof. We were so pleased with his knowledge and professionalism that we decided to have soffit fascia, siding, and gutters replaced as well. I had some storm damage and needed to replace some siding on my house. I called custom installations and asked for a quote. I had two different salesman contact me regarding replacing the siding for my whole house, which is not what I needed, and when they found out that my homeowners insurance would not cover the entire house, they stopped all contact with me. After several attempts over the course of three weeks, I finally got a response saying it would cost $4,000 to replace the siding that my insurance estimated would be approximately $500 to $700. Guess I am not worth their time.

I don’t write a lot of reviews but wanted to take some time and write this one.If you are looking to hire a company “stop”, simply pick up the phone and call Custom Installations Inc. I own a 3 flat in Evanston which was built in 1894. After the hail storm of April 2020, it ended up getting damaged. I interviewed 5 different contractors to see who I should work with.After my first meeting with “Len” from Custom’s, I knew I had the right company. Even so, I continued to interview others and talk to contractor friends of mine. With each contractor I/We met, i kept comparing them to Custom’s - they had set the bar high.Once I pulled the trigger and hired Custom’s we began work on the design and color scheme. Len and the team were very patient with me as I began this new endeavor.Part of the work was an insurance claim. Custom’s has a department that works directly for you to ensure they pay every penny they should. The difference from my insurance companies first offer to the final one was “Immense” to say the least.In the end we: Installed a new roof, siding, custom gutters, windows and doors. When a tree blew down onto our house damaging the roof and slightly damaging the siding, Custom installations did a marvelous job in working with State Farm to get them to agree to reside the entire house. They were also able to replace the aluminum siding with Hardie cement board for a nominal extra charge.

When i reported the lead, his team came out immediately and even though it was questionable whether the leak was as a result of the previous roofer or his folks, his team eliminated the problem.I would certainly recommend Brad and his folks for any roofing job. They stand by there work. Im thoroughly satisfied and impressed.

Custom Installations installed the siding on my home, along with 14 other new builds in the same development. About one month after closing,I noticed buckling/oil canning in several areas around the house. Throughout the following months, all homes in the development had the same issue. After several back-and-forths between Custom Installations and the home builder, we had a service technician from the siding manufacturer inspect the job. After removing several boards in various areas around the house, we were surprised to discover how horrible the installation/re-installation job was. Avoid this company at all costs.RESPONSE TO OWNER:Thank you for your response, which lacks sincerity and empathy, but is full of arrogance. Im glad you will continue to work with Lexington Homes, which I think speaks volumes to the quality, or lack thereof, of the developer. Id like to point out that I have young children at home, including a baby. Being that this is the THIRD attempt at rectifying this issue, the inconvenience continues for me and my family. Custom Installations did a fantastic job from beginning to end! We had extensive damage from a tornado. They guided and assisted us within our insurance companys approved budget. As well as educating us on quality, durable product choices in the materials used. Answering our many questions in person, phone and emails. Very attentive and professional, with great follow-up throughout the repairs and months later. The end results are beautiful!!

I had Custom Installations fix a mess a previous roofer had started with our metal roof on our home. They did a phenomenal job and got the job done right. They not only installed a beautiful standing seam roof, they fixed the other issues the previous roofer left me hanging with.Later I called them to take a look at my mothers roof that had a leak. They saw it was a minor issue and rather than gouge me, as others may have done, they fixed the issue at no charge! Michael Owen MO was great. Friendly, courteous and thorough. I will surely use Custom Installations in the future.

We worked with multiple companies on a large scale interior and exterior renovation project. Custom Installations was one of the top companies we worked with mainly due to working with Mo Owen. He was thorough and understood the big picture drainage and grading plan we were working with and he worked their gutter replacement project right into that plan. Mo also was patient regarding our timing given the complexity of the overall project and the crew he sent to do the work was fantastic. They worked efficiently and helped with creative solutions to maximize the value of the new gutters and downspouts. I would highly recommend Mo and the Custom Installations team!

We were recently hit with a really bad hail storm right as we were trying to sell our house. We needed someone to come in and replace all of our siding, roof, windows, gutters, as well as some other smaller damaged items. We were fortunate to have someone recommend custom installations to us as opposed to working with a lot of the storm chasers that were in the area. They came out walked us through everything to our satisfaction and got moving on the repairs very quickly recognizing we needed to move homes soon. As a result I believe our house was one of the first that was fully completed in our subdivision.Throughout the whole process they were extremely communicative. We would get daily emails on who would be out doing what on any given day as the work was going on. Whenever we had questions or concerns I was able to get a reply to an email within 15-20 minutes. Even late in the evening I would usually get a reply within 25-30 minutes from the team. If I did have to call in quickly I never had issues getting in touch with who I needed as well. This goes for the back office as well as field team managers.Due to the great work they did and the speed at which they did it we ended up selling our house above asking price before the end of the summer sale window. The house looked spectacular and we believe that was a big part of why this happened.I would definitly use them again if we ever needed any of this type of work done. Talking to several nieghbors prior to moving I know they all regretted going with people that came to them as opposed to finding someone like Custom Installations to work with. Both in terms of quality and speed to repair everything.

Absolutely horrible experience. They came in telling me that they are use to working on million dollar homes and I really hope the work we had done is not the work they perform on said million dollar homes. Our roof was replaced so poorly that they had to send a guy out again to fix it. SEVERAL roof inspectors looked at the roof and agreed that although it was done correctly it was poor quality work. I also have a failed inspection report from the county. Save yourself the hassle and work with a better company.*edit to respond to owner*Please note that i not once mentioned our roof leaking after installation and my review was soley based on the poor quality and customer service. But regardless the insepctors agreed that the work was poor at best although not the cause of our problems. There were gaps in the starter course and several areas needed to be fixed. My point was not that my roof leaked but that the work needed to be redone AND both of the inspections mentioned did say that the roof was not an issue but would agree that the QUAILITY of work was poor.

Mo was great. He was very patient as we tried to figure out colors. Installers also did a great job.

Work was done timely and with good quality. When service was requested, they were quick to respond.

We’re planning an extensive project and Kayla walked us through every question we had, a few we didn’t know we had! We’ve been planning this for a while, but couldn’t find anyone we were comfortable with. After hearing from friends and family, and speaking with Kayla, we know who were going with!

Mo made the process very clear, listening to our preferences as to what we wanted.

This is a horrible company to work with. They will have to keep coming back to a site to repair it. They all put off something that wasnt finished. I think they go through way to many employees. I would never use these unproffesionals again.
