I came across this hospital when my cat experienced a foot injury on a Sunday and the regular vet was closed. They made room in their schedule to see her and were very kind. That’s why we went back a month later when my cat had weird symptoms and was diagnosed by cardiomyopathy. Dr. Kim got her on a medication regimen that’s been working well and sees her every few months for followup. The pricing is affordable and I cannot say enough about how EVERYONE at this practice is genuinely nice. So happy!

I could not write a higher review. Dr Kim is the vet we have been using for our dog this year based on a referral we were given. Dr Kim is an amazing veterinarian and an equally amazing communicator. Every time he sees our dog, he gives us all of our options and is very transparent about the rational behind each option. We brought our dog in with a life threatening condition and he was treated Immediately, and the staff were checking on us giving constant updates along every step. They even call over the next few days to keep tabs on our dogs progress. Overall this facility runs very smooth and there are always plenty of vet technicians on hand to assist everybody. A+

All the staff at South Orange County Animal Hospital are so friendly and knowledgeable! They have very safe COVID protocols while still delivering the service that I have grown to expect from them. I absolutely love our vet! Most of my experience has been with Dr. Tani and she is just an absolute gem. So kind, so bubbly, and she cares so much for each and every pet.

The staff was very helpful. My dog had surgery and was acting very agitated after a few days. The person that answered the phone listened to me and checked with the doctors to see what could be done. I was given an appointment for the next morning. Dr. Kim was amazing and really listened to my concerns and was able to determine that my dog was having a reaction to the mix of medications that he was taking for pain. The next day, my dog was back to himself. I am always appreciative of how great the staff and doctors are when we come in for visits.

Over the past several years, Ive been to this practice with multiple foster kitties. I was impressed by the kindness and professionalism of the doctors and staff. The office and exam rooms are very clean and comfortable. I also thought it was very cool that they worked with local rescues.It was because of my positive experience with my fosters that I wanted to switch to South County. However, when it came time for me to book an appointment for my slightly sick kitty, they pushed me off for an appointment 9 days in the future, even though my kitty had been seen by them as a rescue in the past. The rep was friendly and kind, but also stone cold. She wanted to push me off onto other veterinarians in the area with whom I have no experience. Not cool.RECOMMEND only if your pet isnt actually sick

Dr.Tani and her team are hands down one of the most sweetest animal lovers I have ever met. they truly care for your pet and want what’s best for them. they aren’t like other vets where they charge u for excessive tests she will tell u what’s really needed and will try her best to go the most reasonable way possible. they even call you to check up on your dog after a visit how sweet is that? My boy Ricky does not like a lot of people and use to hate going to the vet he even hates going to the groomers. I cannot say enough great things about South OC Animal Hospital. Weve been taking our two kitties there for years and have always found the veterinarians and staff friendly, communicative, honest, and understanding. But our appreciation for the hospital grew 100-fold recently after our 11-year-old cat showed some alarming kidney values on his blood test. Dr. Jette was beyond gracious with explaining the urgency of the situation and the treatment plan. She recommended he be hospitalized for two days with fluid injections. Naturally, my wife and I were terrified by the situation and worried about costs. Dr. Jette walked us through the costs and the purpose of each treatment. During our cats time in the hospital, Dr. Jette called us at least twice a day to update us on how our cat was doing. The staff even made it easy for us to go in and visit our kitty during the middle of his stay. We felt so strongly that our cat was safe and being cared for with the best treatment possible. A few days after our cat came home, Dr. Jette called again to check in on him. Having a pet go through a health crisis is a stressful event, and we are so glad that South OC Animal Hospital is our place of choice. Thank you Dr. Jette, Dr. Vogel, and the entire staff!

Excellent service. We really loved the staff. We brought our 15 year-old Italian Greyhound. We just moved from Florida and this was her first appointment. They were kind and really thorough. My mom was suddenly put into the hospital and then had to spend a couple of months in skilled nursing. She has a 14 year old Dog who takes daily medications and is frankly quite challenging in temperament. I was in a complete panic when my mom went away because she LOVES her pup and I had on idea how to care for him.Dr Tani and team at South OC Animal Hospital were incredible. They exceeded any expectations I had for support.They walked me through the “how to” care for him and then followed up to make sure everything was going well. When he got sick, they helped administer medicine (when I could not manage to give it him at home) They were there, right along side me to make sure my mom came home to a healthy dog. And I am forever grateful for that.They were consistently checking in on us to make sure we were doing. Ive come in to this hospital in crucial moments when my dog was attacked. They treated her like she was apart of their family and made it so she could be comfortable during this whole ordeal of getting her healed up. The new covid-19 pull up services was amazing. I pulled up to the facility and from my car I called the number posted on the wall. The vet came out and took my payment as well as my dog to get his shots. The whole process took less then 10min. Thank you SOCAH for making it so easy.

I am so happy that I have met doctor Alyson Tani!　She is truthfully most caring, sincere and compassionate doctor I have met to this date.Several years ago I first knocked on the door of this newly opened veterinary place in OC and since then, I moved to Los Angeles yet I would drive two hours to have my fluffy family member seen by doctor Tani.My 12-yr old fluffy daughter was diagnosed Cushing’s disease in September. I was devastated with the results of ACTH stimulation test but doctor Tani has been helpful and reliable in her care I truly appreciate her support.Her office staff are also nice, friendly and easy to talk to over the phone which helps a lot these days with everything going on with Covid-19. Since the outbreak a lot of unexpected are happening and I realize how powerful it can be to have someone like doctor Alyson Tani in care who genuinely support her patients even from overseas!!

First, I want to thank Dr. Kim and my friend Linda for guiding me to SOC. I almost gave up on trusting a vet until my friend urged me to take my boy to Dr Kim. We love South Orange County Animal Hospital. They are caring towards pets and have a great staff. We have been going to see Dr. Kim for years and he’s so bright and talented in his practice and an all around great guy. Look no further if you want a vet that cares about your pet, is the most knowledgeable about how to care for your pet, and does so in the most practical and honest way.

We were on the search for a new vet after almost 10 years with a previous vet. Our previous vet was fairly good, but very expensive. We looked at vet insurance to ease the burden a bit, but with 3 dogs, overall, nothing was cost effective. The final straw was when I asked if I could just speak with a vet to ask a question about a previous visit (keep in mind, weve been there almost 10 years) and they said I had to book a $68 appointment to ask a vet a question. Really? When I just had a follow up question from a previous visit? Um, no. Time to find someone that appreciates my money, time and pets.Online reviews led me to South OC and I am so incredibly grateful. First visit was free for all three dogs (and all visits are reasonable & affordable). Dr. Tani was incredibly kind and awesome with my dogs. I knew that I had found the right vet when she came in, sat on the floor and played with all three of my dogs. We had deep concerns over my oldest dog, who has a heart murmur/enlarged heart and severe dental disease. We were told at my previous vet that she was a 5 on a scale of 1-6 (6 being the worst) with her heart and needed an echocardiogram or they would not perform the dental surgery. Dr. Tani was not convinced...even without that history, she said that our dog was a 3 on the scale, and was confident that she could do the surgery, as long as we were aware of the risks, without issue since she had done the same surgery on her own dog, twice, with the same ailment.Needless to say, our dog was absolutely fine through the surgery and Dr. Tani removed 19 teeth without issue. Our dog is acting as if nothing happened and is in perfect health after the procedure. Our dogs are finally not scared to go to the vet (they LOVE Dr. Tani) and every time I go there, I am welcomed with a big smile and personalized service. I get a text, email and call reminders of appointments, thorough discharge & follow-up instructions, immediate access to Dr. Tani via email if I have questions and above all...excellent care. Would recommend over and over and over.

There is no other vet like Dr. Kim. He is willing to answer any and all questions and goes out of his way to explanation everything so that we know exactly to do. Weve never seen a vet like this and he has done surgery for our dogs leg before. He was so thorough and neat that we couldnt see any stitches on his leg and he could walk again immediately. He told us that he had a heart murmur before checking his leg which the other hospital didnt tell us about. He made sure to give Kenta medication before the day of the surgery. He cares a lot for peoples pets and does everything he can to help. Our pets are so happy and we are too. The staff members are also very friendly and we 100% recommend this hospital. Dr. Kim is amazing and he is a very special veterinarian.Dr. Tani is also a special vet and she was very honest about our other dogs eye even though the other hospital misinformed us and gave us treatment that didnt work at all. They even told us that his eye had to be removed, but Dr. Tani gave us eyedrops and told us that he didnt need to have his eye removed. Kitaro is doing extremely great now. South Orange County Animal Hospital doesnt give out any unnecessary medicine or try to lie to you and take your money. Dr. Tani is a very sweet and good vet. Dr. Kim is the best Dr. we’ve Ever seen! Genuinely cares about the animals and can feel the warmth in his responses. Our puppy needed many surgeries on his legs and although I was worried I had complete confidence in Dr. Kim. The staff has always been very helpful and pleasant as well.

I wanted a dental for my pup and so I went and paid for a pre-dental evaluation. After everything comes back good I call to make the actual dental appointment and they are booked 2+months out. Never during the first consultation was I told about how long the wait to get on the list for a dental was or I’d never have gone to them in the first place. I’m moving before they have any so I can’t even get my dog in for the dental that he really needs. I’m not frustrated that they are booked so far out, I’m frustrated that it was never communicated just how crazy long their wait list was. Big waste of money and it sucks because the techs were actually great. The receptionist I spoke to could seriously care less when I was talking to her about this.

This was my first time visiting SOCAH, and it was a referral from a friend who runs a local rescue where I adopted one of my two dogs.My dog Pablo had a fever, and I noticed something wasnt right. Having been a dog owner and using great vets, and vets who practice veterinary medicine, I wasnt sure what I was in for.Im grateful that Dr. Kim and the entire staff at the hospital have the best in mind for me and my dog. I figured Id be leaving with at least an $800 bill and all sorts of test having be done on my dog. But Dr. Kim narrowed down that Pablo had an infection from a bite wound on his back, and thats what had probably caused his 104.5 fever.He prescribed the appropriate medication, and administered the antibiotic shots Pablo needed, so he would get the necessary treatments to get him going. And he advised of an action plan if things didnt improve and what to expect.Ive found a great veterinary medicine expert group of people that put me at ease if my dogs have any issues, I can rest assured that they will be in good hands.Thank you for your love and compassion for my dog, and talking me through every step of your diagnosis and what to expect.You guys are truly experts in your field. I know nobody is perfect, and thats not expected of anyone, but you show thats what you strive for.

I have a new dog, a Maltipoo - my first dog. A friend recommended South Orange County Animal Hospital. I saw Dr. Jette for a checkup for Bentley. The service was excellent. She answered all my questions, gave Bentley a thorough check-up, gave him a shot for allergies, and recommended a couple of helpful products. Im very pleased with this vet. Great people.

When I had to say goodbye to my senior pet a few months ago there were so kind and compassionate. Recently I have had to bring in my 90 pound dog who is not happy to be there. The best vet staff! Dr. Tani and Dr. Kim are so kind, caring, and professional. They do not over price the treatments or vaccines and still give you a friendly/ welcoming visit. My boyfriend and I have recently moved to Colorado but every time we come home to visit in California we go out of our way to bring our dogs to South Orange County Animal Hospital. The staff are all very caring. Dr DeAtley is so good with my cats, and treats them very well indeed. All are very attentive to my animals health and my experience. When I had to have my senior cat put to sleep recently, the whole staff was very compassionate, allowing me plenty of time to say goodbye to her and grieve for her alone with no pressure. Best vets group I have had in 40+ years of having animals! And they are very reasonable on their fees and do not suggest costly procedures or tests not really needed.

Dr. Tani is a wonderful, knowledgeable and caring veterinarian. She really loves what she is doing. We have a 10-year-old Miniature Schnauzer named Oscar who has a minor heart murmur and required serious dental work and a lipoma mass removal. Dr. Tani and the staff took good care of Oscar. His teeth and mass removal went very smoothly and he recovered quickly. I was impressed with the South OC Animal Hospital. They were attentive and professional. Their prices are fair and reasonable. When we took Oscar for his last checkup, the Covid 19 was at the peak. The facility set up a curb side arrangement with distancing and safety masks.

Dr. Kim and the other vets here are all wonderful. I drive all the way from Yorba Linda to bring my cats here. I met Dr. Kim when he worked in another area and followed him. I tried to find another vet in my area for emergencies but they all disappoint! Many vets have smelly and dirty offices. This clinic is clean and smells good! The Vets here are friendly, knowledgeable and caring. I appreciate that this clinic also isn’t interest in overcharging clients. I’m an animal lover and will do anything for my pets. I appreciate that Dr. Kim will never take advantage of my dedication and order unnecessary tests for my cats.

Truly fantastic facility. My dog Lobo is well and strong again. Dr. Alyson Tani is so caring, a fantastic surgeon and we are all greatfull to have found our Lobos new doctor. We live over 2.5 hours away and it is worth the drive to us for our baby Lobo.

We have been taking our dogs here for years! They are the absolute best around, we have seen each vet and they are all wonderful! Just went in yesterday because my poor boy needed stitches, they took such good care of him and it was so comforting knowing that he was in such good hands! I also love that they have early morning, late evening and weekend appointments available.

Weve seen each of the vets here numerous times, and Im so confident with all of them, and they all have the best dog mom and fur-baby bedside manner. Theyre so reasonable and fair, and try to come up with the most practical and economical ways of solving problems. I am so comfortable here, the front desk is always professional and sweet, and the atmosphere is so inviting and kid-friendly, which I appreciate so much, especially when I have to drag to elementary kids along for the ride.

I can not say enough wonderful things about them. It was an emergency that brought me to them. It was how they handled it, that made me stay and transfer the care of my pets to them. They truly treat your pet like family.

Dr. Kim and Dr. Tawni are the best! They have cared for our dog who got cancer and always give the best and utmost care. They truly care about your animals and that is the difference you will experience at SOC Animal Hospital!

Love the vets & the office staff are Great.Dr. Kim is very thorough and Will spend the time explaining exactly whats wrong in terms that you can understand... he truly cares about the animal and doesnt rush you out the door if its closing time. Dr Tani is very nice and just as thorough & compassionate.I highly HIGHLY recommend this office if youve ever been turned off by vets that dont really seem to care about the animals and wont spend the time thats needed to figure out whats really wrong.Dr Kim & Dr. Tani, along with their staff, are just wonderful.

I took Lulu here for the first time last year to get her shots. The Vet was amazing and gave her a full check up. Since Lulu was a new patient they didnt charge us the office visit.Her shots were not expensive and totally affordable.Lulu and I will definitely be back for future visits. I highly recommend this office for your pets medical needs

My husband and I just cant say enough good things about this place, the great Vets, and staff. We recently had our 15 Husky die and were heartbroken. They all were so empathetic and caring. And we decided to adopt another Husky that is 13 with an appearance and medical problem. They got her in quickly and did tests and grooming. The prices are excellent. We had been with another practice since 1975 but changed. Our dog is getting the care she deserves. They are a small group that cares for your pets like they are their own. Our Vet is Dr. Kim and we also work with Dr. DeAtley.

Ive been twice. Both visits were very pleasant, efficient and staff very friendly. Good vibes.

I have seen both Doctors and I would recommend either one! The doctors here are knowledgeable, kind, and compassionate. They tell you the real scoop instead of trying to up-sell you on anything. I am always given time to ask any questions I have. They also always follow up on my pet to see how she is doing. We have found our forever vet!

Dr. Kim and his incredible team of techs and assistance are so good with our dogs and our family. They are so gentle and Dr. Kims way with our fur family has kept them calm and at ease. My dogs typically do not do well in a vet office. They are responsive, and dont try to nickle and dime like other animal hospitals I have been to. His approach to medical care is to not do surgery unless there are not alternatives, and not necessarily the most expensive procedure depending on your pets age, or ability to recover. We have found our family Vet and would recommend them to anyone with pets.

I know most people have given this facility a very good rating which is why I chose it when looking for a new vet. My initial impression was very favorable as the staff was nice and the doctor was professional and knowledgeable. However, the follow up has not been so good. My dog had lab work done and after 10 days, I still have not received a call from the doctor, despite having left 3 messages. I finally requested the results be sent to me and will have to go elsewhere for evaluation of the results.

We had such a great experience with Dr. DeAtley. Our dog had an allergic reaction in the middle of the night. Our regular vet wasnt in in the morning. When we called South Orange County Animal Hospital they told us to bring her right in. Dr. DeAtley and her crew took great care of Winnie and kept us updated through out the day. I think we have found our new full time vet.

My family and I all take our pets here. We have seen all three doctors now, and we have received excellent care, at a very fair price. Everyone at South OC Animal Hospital is caring and compassionate about their care of ones pets. I wholeheartedly recommend South Orange County Animal Hospital.

I adopted a kitten from Small Paws Pet Rescue. Included in the adoption fee, were vaccinations and spading for my little Billie from SOC Animal Hospital. Ive been to the hospital twice and even though the services are gratis we were treated as a paying customer. Services were completed in a timely manner and Dr. Kim was so gentle and caring in doing the exam. Animals know when a person is caring and Billie took to Dr. Kim immediately. I would highly recommend them to any pet owner.

My dog got hurt and needed stitches. Dr. Kim took great care of him and it was late in the evening. The doctors are so kind and very wonderful there. The staff is always kind and very helpful. I really love the hospital for all they do to keep my two babies healthy.

I absolutely LOVE this animal hospital. I checked out a few that were mediocre before I found this one! We go to Dr. John Kim. But, both Vets are fabulous! They take their time with your pet and treat your pet like their own. The office staff and vets are caring, kind and friendly. They do not up-sell you and are upfront and honest about fees. I love that they got on the floor with my doggy to make her feel safe and comfortable. This place is an A+++++++++ establishment. They have my business for life!

The most caring and honest vet Ive ever been to, and Ive been to quite many. Dr. Tani is amazing and cares for all animals as they were her own. The prices are very reasonable and they dont sell any services that you dont need. I am so lucky to be getting such a great service so close to home. I used drive 22 miles to see the vet I trust but I dont need to anymore. Dr. Tani is much better and all her stuff is amazing. Thumbs up!

The staff are very helpful and supportive. The entire staff are thorough and gentile with the animals. After examining my pets, the veterinarian carefully explained what my dog and cat needed. She prepared a detailed list of recommendations for each of them.I brought in a young male Tabby cat named Wally, to receive shots and get neutered. I also brought Bonnie, my female adult pomeranian, for her wellness exam, updated shots, and grooming. Not only were my pets treated like family but the veterinary costs were reasonable. This is my go to animal hospital and I highly recommend them!

A cat rescue I foster for uses this vet, so I have been here with a grand total of, at this moment, 14 (!) different pets, including my own! Ive seen both Dr. Kim and Dr. Tani many times and they are both wonderful. Dr. Kim treated my vet-phobic, fear-aggressive dog and he was the only vet Ive ever had who took the time to make my dog comfortable and not just have someone hold him down or muzzle him so he could get the exam over with and move on to his next appointment. The office staff are very nice and helpful. They even have free coffee and play Disney movies in the lobby.

If I could give a 100 stars I would. Love SOCAH!!! The staff is fantastic and Dr. Tani and Dr. Kim have been the best with our dogs. We recently got a puppy and I couldnt wait for them to meet her. Who can say that about their vet? They do great work, they understand this is family and not just a dog! They really are amazing.

Dr. Kim did a fabulous job of explaining the problems our two dogs are experiencing and have experienced over the years without being resolved. We have taken our dogs to several vets who took our money but didnt put together a comprehensive plan for each dog that was easy to follow. Dr. Kim developed a conservative plan and follow up to monitor progress and outlined what the next steps might.I was impressed so was Nikki & Chewy our dogs.

There is nothing bad about this place. The minute you walk in you know its a place that demands excellence in all they do. Dr. Kim is phenomenal. Great manner with people and animals ...very knowledgeable. Pricing is very competitive theyre open 7 days a week. I switched from the vet I was using to this place within the first half hour of being there I knew it was the right vet for me.

I am SO EXCITED to have found a GREAT VET!!!! I took my dog in this week and had questions before I went in and Dr. Kim came to the phone and spoke to me for about 10 minutes about the problem I was having with my dog. He was SO NICE AND helpful and I was so grateful he took the time to speak to me when I was not even a patient yet! The office is really nice and all the staff and Dr. Kim are SO warm, informative and caring. I was really impressed and I will refer every pet lover I know to their office!! I needed to find a vet closer to home and am so happy that I went to this animal hospital. the staff, technicians and vets are wonderful, caring people. They made me and my animals feel like family! Dr. Tani is awesome. Dont look any further.

If you are looking for a veterinarian, this is you place! The staff and the vet care about my dog, Max. They explain everything and really go above and beyond when it comes to caring for my dog.I trust them with him so much that I boarded him there for a day or overnight.Their fees for services are affordable, and a welcomed pleasant surprise.I would never take Max anywhere else!!

Great vets, pretty good front office staff most of the time.My biggest gripe is that pretty much every single time I call this place, I get put on hold for several minutes... even 5 minutes after they open.I tried to make a suggestions to Lauren (the staff answering the phone this last time) and was told Okay..., no Thanks for your suggestion, we do have issues with our phone call system taking too long! Ive spent plenty of money here and I appreciate Dr. Vogel but the front office staff can be hit or miss. I realize you guys work in a vet office but that doesnt exclude you from basic customer service skills.TLDR:Have patience because you will surely need it when dealing with the (potentially) sassy front-office staff.

Dr. Tani and the staff are amazing. Ive been twice and have been impressed from start to finish.Lets start with the lobby. Nice and clean, bright and airy. TVs for the kids (and adults too) and several separated seating areas so your scaredy cat doesnt have to have a big slobbery dog in his face. And, it smells good too! Most vet clinics kind of stink, this one does not.The reception team is super friendly and usually have fur-babies of their own behind the counter.The care given to my pets has been spot-on, and the prices are quite reasonable. Dr. Tani is caring and takes her time to talk to you about what is going on with your pet.And, they are open 7 days a week!

Best experience I have ever had with a veterinary practice.From the reception area, vet tech, amazing veterinarian, to my walking out the door this place had me in total care pertaining to my sweet 14 yr old Jasper. Its actually very sad what we are going through and they were so kind sending me out with a medicine to try and a care plan as we prepare for my dogs last days with us. :(They even called today to ask how Jasper is feeling today. I trust them 110%!(I think the medicine is improving his condition a little bit!)The staff and Drs have put their heart into this place and you can feel it.Great job!

When you first walk into the hospital, the first thing you will notice is that is does not smell like an animal hospital. Its clean, bright, and modern. The doctors are honest, caring, and will try to accommodate your budget. The prices are very reasonable for everything from routine vaccines to a more complicated surgery that my dog required. It can get busy in the evenings so I recommend an appointment before the after work crowd, if possible. Great experience and would definitely recommend.

Dr Kim and his staff are great! These people care about animals. The facility is clean and very affordable especially for Orange Co, Ca where everything is priced sky high. They dont try to sell unneeded things like special food or vitamins etc. Dr Kim really takes his time to explain everything and my dogs did not feel threatened by him. Great Vet I am very happy that I found him and highly recommend this animal hospital.
