I am very disappointed with LA Farm Bureau. From rude and insulting remarks from claims adjusters to being non responsive, this has been the biggest upset. Multiple hurricane damages and over six months of begging for money that I pay for on time every month is ridiculous. I would never recommend them for any type of insurance coverage. I have a surplus of coverage for ALE, damages, and contents, but yet they refuse to pay me for any travel expenses from evacuation, they refuse to pay for a storage unit unless I buy it first, they refuse to pay a small premium for a travel trailer rental unless I pay it first. I have little faith in their reimbursement process since I was and will never be reimbursed for my home being unlivable for months. FEMA was gracious enough to help pay for a generator so I could provide basic running water to my home with no electricity. They said just because you have no electricity or running water, your home is not unlivable... which is totally insensitive to a family with small children, or anyone for that matter. Do your research on this company and how they handle claims before you invest with them. They have a fair premium, but the service is horrible and their employees are very rude especially supervisors in the claims departments.In reply to the comment: The number given in the comments is for insurance agents. My issue is with the claims department. To this very day, nearly 9 months after the storms, they are still penny-pinching and making me spend my money for ALE before they will even pay out a single cent. Utterly ridiculous. I have no mortgage and will seriously consider cancelling this policy and keeping my money in my pocket. This company is not user-friendly when claims are involved. They dont mind taking your premium each month though including during the months of the storm when money was short. They offered absolutely no assistance.
I have had my insurance through Farm Bureau for many years and i have had no issues at all. the girls in the lake charles office are awesome and very pleasant and helpful every time i call. thanks for always answering my questions the way i can understand them. yall are great!!
I called last week to get a homeowners ins quote, since mine was renewing soon. I spoke with agent Glen Greathouse. He got info from me, then made a pitch for doing auto ins also, & got that info from me. He then said hed get back to me w/a quote. Surprised he didnt say when, but okay. When I didnt hear back next day, I called. He said he thought hed be able to get that done by end of day. ??? I said, well, okay. He didnt get back to me that day. He didnt get back to me the next business day.I wasted days waiting for a call from this guy. He didnt call to say he was having a problem or anything. Ive never had a business diss a potential customer like that. Theres nothing wrong w/my history for ins. No claims, high credit score, homeowner, not in a flood zone, nice house in nice neighborhood, etc. If this is the way they conduct themselves when trying to attract new business, when theyre at their best, I can only guess how bad it is after youre already a customer. I put this company at the bottom of my list of companies to do business with...at the very bottom. (Please look at my other reviews; I like to rate highly, if I can. For me to post this low, the experience was truly bad.)

Worst customer service ever. You walk in and ladies up front just look at you like you are invisible. The agents are never there, like ever. Just do not waste your time. Also there roadside assistance is the WORST EVER! This is a warning!

Not a polite staff to do business with, called to cancel insurance and they make you go through hoops for days so they do t have to give you a full refund.
