If you are getting your pool supplies and advice from anyone other than Malcolm at Leslie Pools in Lafayette you are wasting your time and money. Malcom solved a problem I was having with my pool equipment that had eluded several experts. He is not only professional, but also an all around good guy with a wonderful sense of humor.

Leslies has never let me down! They either have or can order whatever you need. The free labor on repairs is one of the best deals, ever.

Here is a story about a dude who knows nothing about pools....me.I walk into the store after purchasing what I consider a glorified kiddie pool (12 foot diameter 3 feet deep) and I was greeted with a friendly smile and an awesome joke. I love sarcasm and sharp wit. The manager Malcolm has this in spades. He was funny and kind (clearly seeing I had no idea what I needed or was doing there) and helped direct me to the items I needed. However, the store specializes in in-ground pools so the tiny pump I was searching for could not be had here. Have no fear Malcolm suggested with a bit of research I could locate one rather quickly. He advised me on a salt water converter thingie (cant remember it exactly) and sent me on my way. I did the research and came to the conclusion salt was not the best way to go for my pool (surprisingly Malcolm hinted at this haha) that I spent about 100 bucks on. I returned to my sage Malcolm and explained I had a change of heart and due to his excellent customer service, recommendations, and honesty I wanted to give him my business. We then discussed how to chlorinate my tiny pool so it would be free of germs and nasty bits. He hooked me up with the proper supplies and sent me out into the world a smarter and more confident dude with a new pool. I followed his instructions and brought back the water to test (WHICH IS FREE BTW WOOT WOOT) as he tested the water like a wizard working magic and mixing potions all while we chatted about family, business, and of course pools. It is nice to see someone who loves their work as much as Malcolm. As a business owner myself I have half a mind to try and steal him for my sales team :) but I wouldnt want to take away from the possible great experiences others will have when shopping here. It is refreshing and assuring to deal with a manager that is so full of spirit that you cant stop smiling. He always walks me to the door and wishes me well. I go out of my way to criticize and to praise. And Malcolm and the crew deserve the praise! I will be bringing my business here from now on.***to all the haters...yes it is expensive but you are in Lafayette what do you expect? The price you are paying is to help pay the employee to help you get exactly what you need and explain everything to you. Dont need help? Do you already know everything about pools? Then why are you going to a store in the first place? Get your s*** on line like the rest of the know it alls. : P

I just had a bad experience at Leslie store Lafayette Ca.I went there to return items. Only one store attendant was taking care of customers. There was three customers before me. The store attendant was testing swimming pool water for the customers.. One customer who had been waiting left the store because he was tired for waiting. So now there was only two customers before me. While I was waiting for about 20 minutes, a fellow came into the store. This fellow and the store attendant were greeting and chatting each other. It seems to me that they must be friends each other Finally when my turn came, the store attendant told me to wait so that he would take care of this fellow. I protested his business practice. I informed him that I would report this business practice to the store manager. The store attendant told me he was the manager. I look at his name batch. His name is Ron. To me this kind of business practice is not acceptable especially from a store manager.
