Do not ever allow anyone to come here! My loved one came here, and communication is terrible. You can’t get through to anyone unless they are the ones calling you. No medical updates. They refuse to let you inside when your loved one is getting released. You are forced to sit outside to wait on them to sign papers. No notice prior to release to set up pickup of your loved one.
Abuse is real in this place. Beware before you send someone. Make sure they understand completely what is happening because it is a scary place inside. The staff is great for the most part. Just dont forget to check on the people who matter and remind them what day it is.
One of the worst hospitals Ive ever had to deal with. Just go look on indeed at how many leadership positions are available, that is funny and should tell you something about this place. I do not recommend this place to anyone seeking treatment or employment. Something needs to be done to fix this crazy place.
Bad work environment, cant believe this place is still open.leadership is terrible, they cant keep anyone there. staff is underpaid and overworked. no one cares, the only thing they care is the snacks present and revenue being generated in.
This hospital has an excellent and caring staff. Patient care and safety always comes first. The admissions process is smooth and the staff handles each admit with compassion. I would encourage anyone seeking mental health/substance abuse treatment to turn to Vermilion Behavioral!!
Excellent customer service, communication and admissions process. Patient care is highest priority. Attentive and compassionate staff to guide you through the treatment process.
My son was here 9 days. Very good hospital. They actually talked and answered questions. He even said it was one of the better ones. Very clean.
Definitely a great work environment. Everyone works together to ensure things go well. I really cant think of a reason to complain.
Ive been here on 3 separate occasions and one of my immediate family members had to be admitted recently. The only problem is they are only allowing one person in to do admissions and there is no visitation allowed only by phone now. The staff has been honest about what has happened and has relayed all messages from me to said family member.
First I will start by saying they welcomed my son and was very considerate of what he was going threw, and the staff is awesome, I can call and check on my son anytime I want, the nurse will talk to me with patience and not rush to get off the phone, they explain anything I ask them, they are all so very nice I would 100% recommend vermilion behavioral heath to anyone, my son is very comfortable there, and the classes are helping him open up as to why he was who he was an why he was doing what he was doing I appreciate each and everyone of the staff members thank you all so much...
Phenomenal staff, facility and as my son would say, meals!! The counseling was the absolute best! First Ill start off with the facility. Everything was super secure and confidential. Very clean, warm and welcoming. The staff were very professional yet really down to earth. I was encouraged to call as I needed and thats what I did. I could always get an update and or speak to my son just to reassure myself that he was okay. As a mother, I needed this. The medical doctors on site were very thorough. And paid close attention to his needs. Figuring out what worked best for my child. And again, I cant say enough about the counselors. She was very attentive and super helpful! Making sure we got to the root of the problem and addressing it! I thank god for her every day!! Lastly I cant leave out the fact that I heard about how great the food was everyday. I will forever be greatful for Vermillion and the entire staff.
Awesome hospital I was there for two weeks Thank you ms.gabby Ms.kat Dr.olivier Ms.kim M.slacey Mr.Tony Ms.Heather And Ms.leah They all helped me regain my life and they helped me get back on my feet 🥰🥰💙💙
Vermilion Behavioral Health Systems is the best place to go get help!!! The staff is so caring and attentive to each and every patient
Great place to work!! The staff is so caring
My mom just got released a day ago.All she ever talks about is how sweet the staff were here and how the food was amazing.I was a bit skeptical about this place when I saw the two star reviews but she loves it and the staff has helped her tremendously. She went in there depressed and down and she left a new person and she is a better person because of them.
Poor communication. Release process for your child is problematic. 1 1/2 -2 hour wait time, outside, with no response to phone calls.Richard
Well where do I start Vistions is the place to go,I have been fighting drugs and alcohol problem for 13 years and throw my time here I have been clean, I can see the light ! The stuff goes far and beyond to help you and ever get you there, Im am so greatful for all of them and always in a great mood, you cant have a bad day here! I dont wont it to end! I love all of them, they are my family too now ! If you are having problem call them they will help you!!!!!
Garbage. I met a small handful of people that worked here who cared about the patients, other than that, it’s ran by an egocentric management. By the time I left, we barely had any snacks/sandwiches to feed the patients after meals because of a “money shortage”. The units were also old and hideous. I found mold a few times. First of all, Acadia is an international company, I doubt that money is an issue. I suspect foul play involved. The techs were painstakingly watched around the clock by management and the security cameras in the halls. Nurses had constant charting to do and had to stay in their stations. There’s only 2 techs per unit, expected to take care of 20 suicidal, detox, and severely mentally ill patients. We were expected to find every patient and chart their every move every 15 minutes, or we were threatened to be fired. So, we barely had time to actually take care of patients or listen to them because of the fear of our jobs being on the line; due to writing down patient whereabouts for 12 hours straight. It was exhausting, we were severely under appreciated, and constantly critiqued. Thus losing morale and our energy to actually do a good job.Even the cafeteria workers behaved tyrannically and would fuss at patients for wanting more food, after living a life of poverty or eating disorders. Probably because they were taking it home with them. Also, staff were constantly having sexual relationships with each other, although some were married, and were even being fired for it. I was disgusted every time I came into work and heard about it all. The majority shouldn’t even be in healthcare because they literally acted like they did not care about what happened to these people.I had to stay here because I wanted the experience on my resume and couldn’t apply for any other mental health hospitals due to lack of experience. Overall, a terrible time, I felt so bad for the patients. That’s the only reason that kept me here.DO NOT WORK HERE, YOU WONT BE APPRECIATED.DO NOT COME HERE OR SEND FAMILY HERE.
I liked it nice staff they let u smoke and u can get whatever kind on narcotic u want
Awesome staff! I am an EMT and as such, work extremely long hours and it can get exhausting at times. It’s nice to go to a facility where the staff members meet you with a smile and kind words! Brightens everyone’s day/night.
I just want to say a couple things after reading all the reviews, and hopefully impart a little truth here.3 years ago i was a patient and it was eye opening to say the least. After being in 12 mental and rehab facilities i have to say this place helped me more then any other. Do i still have mental and other issurs? Well at times i do. However my time here showed me how to deal with things better. Or atleast as well as i can.Dont listen to people i feel dont get their way. This place as many others actully care. (Understaffed or not.) They try. It all starts with you if you lay it all down and open up to the help they offer im sure you will better understand what im saying.Praying for you ALL!
Review by Michelle PollingueI was discharged today 8/6/19. I had a horrible experience. I would not recommend this hospital. Some staff are actually caring but for the most part most are just there for a pay check. State was there for inspections. They dont follow the rules and regulations only when an inspection is due. When rules and regulations should be followed all the time Period. Nurse on duty clearly stated before her nursing group that its a business and that there main priority is to make money. They are under staffed and the staff is inadequately and poorly trained. The patient advocate Kim G is a freaking joke, this woman is more concerned with her wardrobe than taking care of the concerns of the patients. I didnt get phone messages from family and friends, doors slamming all night because staff are too lazy and inconsiderate to use the other door which is at the other end of the hall. I complained about this twice, Kims excuse was well Im not there at night. Horrible, horrible hospital and they make One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest look like paradise and nurse Rachet an angel. DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES here.Treatment packets are used for punishment.
The emotional intelligence scale of the employees here is bordering the negatives. A lot of them do NOT know how to talk to mental health patients. Some of the therapists are good, and a few of those that possess actual college credentials.I can’t reccomend this place in good conscious. If you have had a bad experience here, please call OSHA (Occupational Saftey and Health Administration).
They have no empathy for people here. Helping turns out to be group sessions where some white collar fresh out of college jerk who quizzes you on word definitions. They make you sit in a room for hours at a time. The only daylight you see is when smoke break comes around. And even then its an externally small area. The food is good though. I think thats where the bills you end up having to pay really come from. Its like an overpriced hotel.
Thank you Vermillion! Dont know how I wouldnt have done it without my treatment team inwhich took action to help me combat my dual diagnosis. You guys and girls have brought joy to my life Id never thought Id see. God bless this institution. Good people, helping good people. Despite being locked inside of a psychiatric facility, I can honestly say I miss the fall breeze playing ping pong, finally feeling my life turn from an aimless road into a journey. Thank you.
Very horrible place. They brainwash you into thinking you’re different than everyone else. Staff would not allow me to have my chapstick, while being on accutane. It’s not a “72 hour stay” they keep you there forever, and force you to interact with unusually strange people. They gave me too high of a dose of happy pills, causing me to be disoriented and I broke my foot while being there, and was forced to still walk on it. Had to get a lawyer to get me out of there..
This hospital is horrible. Theres virtually NO communication as to what is going on and the treatment the patient is receiving. When you do manage to get someone on the phone, they act as though youre an alien that has no business knowing anything pertaining to your family member. Even with the code, full name and court papers showing that you are the primary care giver for that child. They allow children whove been mentally abused to continue communications with those who abused them. Worst place I can imagine for someone who needs help.
A REALLY GREAT PLACE REALLY GREAT STAFF BEAUTIFUL BUILDING I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE DESPITE THE REVIEWS AND COMMENTS BUT EVERYONE IS ENTITLED TO THERE OWN OPINION.
This place is an embarrassing stain on the mental health system of south Louisiana. They’re money hungry and dangerous narcotics are prescribed here. Please look into another hospital.
I would not recommend this facility until they change their staff members. My friend was abused by a staff member while trying to seek help. We also notice a lack of attention by staff members.
Provided services someone close to myself . I highly recommend anyone that needs help with detox or mental health issues to call them. Very kind & professional staff.
My 12yr old daughter was brought to them by her psycho mother and no one has bothered to call and let me know whats going on!! Pretty pathetic of yall.
I have to say I went their in 2009 and we clashed heads alot but it made me realize I rather stay home with my kids then mess up and have to do it again .. It wasnt bad there but i was sick so i wasnt very happy but they did give me meds to help me
Literally the worst experience of my life. Was there about 2.5 years ago and have tried to block it out of my memory. They should be shut down and majority of the employees imprisoned for abuse.
I spent about a week here, just after Christmas 2013 until January 2nd 2014. I was already having issues with a new medication interacting badly with my existing psychiatric medications, and then contracted the flu. I was also on immunosuppressive drugs for an autoimmune condition.A 103°F fever that was causing seizures - did I mention epilepsy? - and delirium led my husband to take me to the ER at LGMC, since every clinic was closed for the holidays the day after Christmas. I don’t actually remember much of anything until I was given a PEC/CEC, but I wasn’t given anything for the fever until I arrived at the Vermilion North campus. I was then transferred *the next* day to this campus. Their own staff can’t keep track of what insurances they accept.I’m not even sure where to start, or which screw-up was worse. Taking me on the long-term prednisone I was prescribed while I was very ill, leading me fainting in a hallway and waking up wearing an oxygen mask? Oh, and since I had a flu, I had to wear a surgical mask for half my stay...but it wasn’t the right kind. It was a particulate/dust mask, not a microbe mask.Prescribing me not one, but TWO medications I have documented allergic responses to? No, I didn’t take them, but I let the dosing nurse try so that she had to record that the doctor didn’t read my chart.Maybe the complete failure to read my chart I guess, and ignoring 10 years of established psychiatric treatment? I didn’t need new medication. I needed my vitals monitored while the medication causing the reaction slowly left my system.Withdrawing from psych meds can be dangerous. Sure though, prescribe an antidepressant to someone with bipolar disorder, and then be confused when mania happens. It’s only *exactly* what antidepressants do, and why they aren’t prescribed for bipolar disorder. You’d think a psychiatrist would know that. But hey, if you get stuck there- it’s an insurance racket. They won’t hold you for longer than your insurance- or Medicaid if you’re uninsured- will pay. Eat on time, shower daily, wash your clothes, don’t hurt yourself or anyone else, and remember- you don’t actually *have* to take the meds they give you, especially when they start adding a new one every day. Each new one requires a 24 hour observation period. Just don’t start yelling and don’t swear if you refuse a medication. Beyond that...being weird for your own amusement won’t actually keep you longer if they can’t justify it to the insurance. That surgical mask that didn’t actually do anything to prevent me from spreading flu like a Typhoid Mary? As long as they made me wear it, I refused to speak to anyone without calling them Batman and using the Bane voice from The Dark Knight Rises. My entire cycle and half the staff in my wing was sick the day I left. They were very happy to see me go.
My fiance is there now against his will and they think they are keeping him from withdrawal from alcohol.....which wouldnt happen anyhow he got drunk and passed out yes......should he have been deemed not able to take care of himself? Hell no! They are giving him med not even saying what they are wont give him his actual daily medicines his Dr prescribes, will listen to so called people that say they are family saying he wants to harm himself but dont want to talk to the woman that lives with him to actually know anything! I guess I should just call and pretend to be family!
DO NOT GO THIS PLACE TO GET HELP,RUDE STAFF,UNDERSTAFFED,OVERCROWDED AND FILTHY!!!!
Wait time is too long. Spent 3 hours in there just to get someone in after they were already registered. Wouldn’t recommend at all.
I would not recommend any parent sending their kids here, they will lie and tell you your kids, they will stay for 3 days in reality its 7-10 days or longer, or it depends how the doctor feels
ZERO STARSThe facility is disgusting- were talking as if this place has never been dusted, hair and dust waxed into the floor, and fear of infection just from sitting down. If youre going for addiction, military or no, plan on never seeing a therapist, your doctor being an ass hat that only shows up near bed time, a nurse practitioner that will tell you youre suicidal, even though youve never been so in your life, diagnosed with something you do not meet the DSM 5 criterion for, diagnosed without being notified, and medicated without being notified or consulted, and medication being dispensed by someone who probably has no idea what melatonin is. You are given zerosion say over how your therapy should be going (forget offering suggestions!), and everything, EVERYTHING will be beyond your control. Want addiction counseling? Detox, and bye. And dont worry, when you can hardly form a thought because of all the meds theyll pump you with, youll be comforted in knowing that everyone else is right where you are, buddy. In summary. Get diagnosed with something you dont have, and have no idea it happened. Be given meds without knowing they were prescribed until a bitchy nurse comes hunting you down. Dosing nurse (just the person who gives you your meds) knowing NOTHING about anything youre taking or why. Doctors that say left when the obvious direction is down o.0. Lack of any true therapy, especially any one on one. Beware of the nastiness of the facilityVermillion Hospital is the worst mental health program I have ever heard of. Go in for substance abuse, come out with ptsd and a bunch of unneeded meds. Maybe a staph infection while youre at it ;)
This place is a scam my wife is there now and all they are doing is giving her meds that has her whole body swollen her eyes barley open I wouldnt recommend this place to a dog!!!!! All about money and not about the people that you care and love!! And the only reason I gave it that one star is so that I can post this for people to see it!
I told them my bf was NOT ready to come home after 10 days and was still wanting to get high asap..he went in saying he was homicidal n 2 days later he is now in jail for domestic violence battery on me....I wish I could sue the hell pjt of them
I can only pray this place gets shut down, and exposed for the abuse they deal out to patients.
If you wanna get ignored and shot up go here
Worst behavioral Health system Ive ever seen do not admit anyone there no one knows a damn thing and no one knows how to do theyre job.
Nobody knows whats going on. People are rude. You have to asked 100 times to get something. Poor service
