Dr. Aaron Winters is one of the best NPRs Ive ever met. Im black and it felt so refreshing to not have my pain dismissed and to be taken seriously at a doctor visit and not jump through hoops to prove myself. He went above and beyond to help me with issues even outside of the reason my appointment was for. I mean yall he really listened to me and then some! Even the staff was kind. I had an all around comfortable experience. Im still legit shockedπ³ Lol β€οΈ. Thank you Dr.Winters!
Worst place to be seen by a PhD Doctor. Most of their health staff is only NP which is ok if you want to be experienced with cuz have of them are just goggling n following the book (anyone can do that π€·πΎββοΈπ€¦πΎββοΈ). If your appointment is 10:05am you wont get to the back until about 10:30am if your lucky with the additional 30/45 min wait for the doctor They mix up test results from STIs to pregnancy test worst health care facility Ive ever been too. Lafayette Indiana needs a better low-income health care facility with more just NP or 1 or 2 PhDs... They will try to discredit this review but its all FACTS π―
Np Beine went above and beyond yesterday for me, as a walk in. I felt terrible and he went right to work figuring the issue out. He already had a prescription ready to call in this morning for my thyroid. Every staff member I encountered was genuinely nice and caring. From front desk, registration, the MA, NP, and lab techs/phlebotomist. Every one of them were exceptional!!!
I had went to Riggs my original nurse practitioner wasnβt in . I was feeling sick . So they had me see a Jeffery tessman . I had a terrible cough . Was feeling bad . He laughs at me and says oh I must have a smokers cough . I donβt like to give medicine for a cough . So I said I need something to open up my air way . He orders me a steroid . And nebulizer with no medicine. Then he proceeded to tell me that we can put a band aid on my cough with steroid . Me next day I was feeling so bad cough got worse I went to hospital. Not only did I have phemonia. I had MRSA running through my body . I had a extreme case of phemonia and sepsis . I was immediately admitted. This man needs to go back to college .
Dr. Tessman saw my daughter who had a severe rash that no creams would help all he told me to do is what I was already doing for it, I later went to her regular doctor turns out she has a allergy to something. He barely looked at it and rushed me out. And I donβt recommend him. My mother went to him and had a horrible experience and ended up in the hospital because for how unlogic he is.
Dont bother longest Ive ever had to wait to be seen by a doctor Ive been going to better be ready your looking at least a 2+ hour wait and then if you cant make it right on time you get pushed back to whenever they want and if your like me that needs refills to keep you alive well then you have to wait as long as they want to talk to the doctor even if it means your late to work they dont care worst place ever to be seen
Nurse Practitioner Susan Foster is fabulous! She is kind, attentive and thorough. I am very thankful for her care.
Some nursing staff perform blood pressure readings incorrectly. The cuffs are extremely tight which will most definitely skew the readings. The arm isnt placed at heart level per many accredited medical organizations. This isnt a task that should be performed in a lackadaisical fashion.
Did a great job with my wifeβs bloodwork. They covered all the bases, and the specialist that we were referred to was very impressed. For a community clinic serving those of us with low incomes/Medicaid, they are really good at what they do. Anyone giving this place a bad review should try to consider where youβre reviewing, itβs essentially a free clinic, not a four star hotel.
Pretty nice people. They forgot we were there in the begining and we sat longer than we probably should have, but after that it was a pleasant experience. The doctor seemed like she cared about my wife, and was easy to talk to.
Very disappointed with the quality of health care... Was a patient with Dr French and complete disregard for my health. Staff was completely incompetent and rude... It took 8 days to return my call for a medication issue and they didnt check my cholesterol until the 7th month... Please find another health provider if you care about youre health....
My wife had an appt with Dr. French today. I dropped her off and said I will be back in about an hour. I did not even get half way home and they called and said she was ready to pick up. They said the appt was cancelled because it was no longer needed. No one notified us of that. Then my wife was asked if she cancelled the appt! (If she had cancelled why would she even be there?) Then they said that Dr. French is only there on Tuesdays and Thursdays. So why did they make an appt for my wife with him on a Friday? Some one is lying to cover their butt!
The girl who answered the phone was the rudest person Ive experienced. She lied to me about dates my dr was available and then hung up on me without scheduling me. Ive been coming to riggs for a long time and I think Ill be changing drs because of the trash they have representing them.
First off i do want to say megan shanley is the best NPR ive always felt very comfortable with her.. Even if there students tagging along she makes me feel heard and taken care of thank meganDr asare had students with him and he popped in to say hi and left student to complete the examHe came in one more time to tell me i need lab work never saw him againLast thing right here ive been calling 2 straight days in a row and no one answers... Guess ill just run im there
Have swelling of the left leg, went in august about it, was sent to st e for xrays, never heard back from my doctor after calling multiple times, went last week and was trying to get answers, i asked if it was celluitis, dr didnt didnt feel or checked if that was what it was just assumed by looking at it got perscribed high does of clyndmycin, had allergic reaction, went to er. That dr looked at it and did a scan of my leg, had a small crack in my bone this whole time! If the dr had even looked at the x rays once at riggs the dr would have known.
Appointment times are scheduled with the efficiency of 1990s cable company. Youll be seen the same day but what time who knows. And just cause your out of the waiting room and in an exam room doesnt mean the wait is over. Then just because you came for a doctor appointment well you meet and greet a doctor but all his stuff is going to be based on the notes of some subquack level of training. Also would you like to hear about the other services Riggs offers cause your going to. Cause at Riggs we sell Riggs. You may have come in for a flu shot but they offer dental, just here for a yearly physical, let me tell you about counseling services. Also better research your own medication, just because your complaining of a common side effect of you current meds doesnt mean they will put two and two together, but they will just double the dose exacerbating your life. Riggs community health were they will find a way to bill Uncle Sam as much as possible if your in the doll, and just cause you have insurance doesnt change their tried and true to hell with the consumer business plan. Unfortunately Lafayette is a black hole for medical pros. This is the only doctors that can get you a new patient appointment in the 30 day range. Why else would I continue to go there.
Horrible customer service. They dont call back their patients. Very disappointing. Corey is the person who was supposed to call me but never got her call. I have called more then 20 times and no one picked up.
Very nice doctors but if youβre needing meds to cope with anxiety better look somewhere else. Thanks to people who abuse the system they donβt prescribe narcotics. They want you to download an app for anxiety. There is no way during a panic attack that I could even hold my phone let alone listen to an app.
I just moved here, my first time visiting to find a doctor. I definitely recommended Riggs community center! The staff was great and really helpful. Everyone was so nice and informative. They have everything from dental to random sick day visits.
Everyone was personable. They helped me find joy in a scary situation as well as a solution.
Your appointment time is a joke! You may be called 45 minutes after the time of your appointment if you are lucky! The staff is definitely friendly but they are very incompetent when it comes to scheduling and holding the doctors to their schedule. Our time is just as valuable. If we showed up 45 minutes late they would not take us. But we are expected to wait indefinitely. Will be changing doctors ASAP! Would not recommend!!!!
So blessed to have this health center near my home. I can not afford insurance and Riggs is income based so it is such a blessing to me!!! I dont know what I would do without their help! Praise God! Staff is wonderful and kind. I go for dental and they are professional and good at dental work.
Well my visit started ok but the NP I saw was not very versed in the different medications avail for what I have and as I was leaving the nurse told me my rx was sent to CVS 20 minutes prier. Got to CVS no rd. Waited 20 min, no rx, called Riggs and no one picked up called and waited another hour at CVS. Called Riggs again, someone from Riggs in a city an hour from me answered and tried to get with the one in my town to no avail. I asked why she couldnt just phone CVS she said I cant override another staff members orders only he can do that you not overriding anything you told me it was sent out but that the transmission just keeps saying pending. How would you be overriding it? He put it through and she would just be confirming. Now I been there 1.5 hours and add 1.45 hes I was at the appointment. I had to start walking home. This was at noon. Now 3.5 hrs later still no call. I am battling stage 4 breast cancer. I really dont need this level of incompetence in my care.
I have gone to Riggs my whole life. I am a Medicaid person as well, so I can afford things like medicine and shots. I am thankful they are there for me and my family. My mother, my father and my brother are also Riggs patients, and it is always very nice to see familiar faces, no matter how the building may change.
To those of you that gave Riggs a bad rating. They are the only one that offers medical services at a price that anyone can afford. I have lived in Lafayette for a better part of the last 13 years and have used the clinic while living here. Where else can you see a Dr. for 26 dollars? And I have to say that my provider has been more than fair and nice to me.
If only the doctor i saw was thorough he really wasted my money and time requested to see another doctor but all in vain. Asari is a joke he aint thorough at all and does not care about the patients he sees why does he even bother p
3/2/2015...First visit to Riggs. It was very pleasant. All the receptionists, the nurse and the doctor were easy to talk to. Non intimidating in their nature, and took the time to answer all my concerns. In addition, I had some lab work done, and the lab technician was very pleasant and professional as well. From the moment I entered the South Street location, my paper work was handled efficiently and professionally. My lab visit was no different. In addition, the price that was quoted for my medication, was spot on.UPDATE 3/4/2015...Left a message with a staff administrator on 3/3/2015, regarding the HIP program. He returned my call, less than (2) hours later. He set up an appointment to speak with me today. My wait time to be seen, was less than (15) minutes. He was very courteous, and took the time to answer all my questions. At no time, was I under the impression, that I was being rushed out the door.Thank you folks!!Wonderful job!!
For the most part our visits have been positive, except for one instance when the doctor got snappy when i told her what my daycare provider thought my daughter had. Her response was,is your daycare provider a doctor? which i thought was kind of crappy. also, it takes forever to get scheduled in, but with my daughter being uninsured I dont feel like I have a lot of options.
This place needs a major overhaul. The doctors are fine. The people running it are another story! Try to get the same story out of any 2 people regarding billing and you are in for a nightmare! They overcharged my daughter and gave many many stories as to why they could not issue an immediate credit. I am not sure who is the person at the top. Was never able to reach that person ...just an answering machine. The commissioners will be contacted re the inefficiency of this place. Tax payers money is being used to keep these doors open. They should care. If this was a private agency instead of a government one, they would not be able to keep their doors open. This place is a disgrace!
Ive been trying to reach the OB office for the last hour and a half. No matter what phone avenue I try to take, I find myself on hold (seemingly waiting for the next employee), only to be sent to an ambiguous voicemail box. It doesnt even have any identification; just a beep after an automated statement that no one is available. This is just my current complaint. Avoid this place if you are free to do so. For the rest of us, good luck.
They were very good and non judgemental
Had to play phone tag with the nurse. Never talked to her other the voicemail she left. My Dr. questioned my diagnose because of the meds I was on. They didnt understand the meds I told. They told me one thing and put something different on my charts diganose wise. They said they would change it and they never did. The dental part at Riggs is a joke.
Wow, is all I can say. This is the most inefficiently ran office that I have ever encountered. No one returns phone calls 90% of the time. They have a knack for passing you around from one desk/dept and the problem never gets resolved. Clearly, no one cares or wants to be bothered with your health concerns. This place needs help from the top down.
Was talked into changing my hospital! Telling me about the better services Riggs had. Then they do the samething that I.U. cancel at the last minute! Ill just stick with I.u. thanks for wasting my time...AGAIN
If you need to see a Dr. soon, you are screwed here. Dont get sick because they will not get you in to see a Dr. in a reasonable amount of time even if you HAD to go to the E.R. and they tell you to follow up with your Dr. in a few days, its NOT going to happen. In my opinion that is negligent. If you have insurance, take my advice, find another Dr. I just got my Insurance and I Am definitely going to find another provider.
I have serious problems βand they never do the things they say.i have been out of my medication for three days now and have had to go to hospital cause they didnt do their jobs and add Drs they referred me to, to my panel! I dont recommend anyone to go there! I do only cause my Dr only and my insurance. The staff and the nurses are a joke. God bless all them and wish they would care more about all their patients.
They have been good to me so far
I have been taking my boys to Riggs for several years. I always get to see a Doctor when im there even if it is not one consistent provider. We get our refills in a timely fashion, and they are happy to give referals when needed. They tend to be busy but it is the main pediactric clinic that excepts Medicaid in Lafayette.
The staff was very rude and very unpleasant to say the least. I would not recommend this facility.
Id like to give this place 1/2 a star if I could! This place is terrible. I appreciate the fact its cheap, but its cheap for a reason. First off I cant get them to keep track of meds for anything. They say they call it in, and they dont. Then I have to call repeatedly between them and my pharmacy to get things straightened out. I have never saw an actual doctor only NPs of which I am on my 3rd because they keep quitting. Everytime I see a new one they have no clue what my medical background is and they all want to try different treatments and medications. The newest one is by far the worst! I was prescribed going on walks as a treatment for severe anxiety disorder. No other tips or management tools for it, just go on a walk. Of course I try it even though it sounds ridiculous because hes the professional. And nothing! On top of that hes just going to cut me off medication I have been on for a decade. They are always behind and you have to wait hours to be seen. If you are ill and need to be seen ASAP, forget it, theres always a 2 1/2 to 3 month wait. The doctors go on vacation without thinking of their patients and their medications so if you run out while theyre on vacation, forget it! Youre screwed until they get back. They have to re-schedule appointments frequently, and then if you are out of meds they will tell you they cant call any in until you are seen even though they are the ones that made you have to extend your next appointment. You cant ever get a hold of anyone for anything. You cant talk to your doctors if you do get a hold of someone, only their nurses. You leave messages to make appointments, and theyre never made and they never call back. Needless to say I am currently on the market for a new doctor. If you dont have insurance like me, its still worth it to pay extra to see a quality doctor elsewhere. STAY AWAY!!UPDATE: AFTER MY 5TH DOCTOR I HAVE FINALLY GAVE UP ON THEM. ALL THE DOCTORS KEEP QUITTING. ITS EVEN BAD FOR THEM APPARENTLY
January 4th 2010 was when we went to Riggs. I had a child on 12/31/09. He was 2 weeks over due and sunburned (meaning hed been in the fluid too long) We hadnt gotten a chance to set up a Ped. Dr. for our son yet so we went to Riggs, when we got there, it took almost 2 hours to be seen! Once we finally got back into a room, we were seen by a NP and an NPA (Nurse Practioner and NursePrac Assistant. Again, my son was what drs call very reddy when he was born. They tried to tell us that because we lived in a mobile home, that he had Carbon Dioxide poisoning and sent us over to the Emergency Room to get checked out. When we got to the ER they asked us why he was being sent over and told us that Riggs didnt know what they were talking about because if there had been a leak our cat would have been dead and we would have been sick too.
They never return your calls. If you are sick it takes 3 weeks to get in. And if you have to return it takes 3 months.
They cant ever do anything right at Riggs. Dont go here all they do is sit on there asses and talk all day. Very unsatisfied and every time i go in there they give me a different doctor too see worst place ever to go.
They have changed there address. Ot os now 2316 South street
These people do not care about you and wont even do the jobs theyre paid to do. Hope you dont have anything serious because your life is in the incompetent hands of apathetic employees who cant be bothered to do the most basic of tasks.
Excellent service, care, and providers.
This place is very slow on getting people in and out if you have an appointment at 9:00am and they dont call you back till 9:33am then wait till 9:55am for the Dr to come in the room and then its not till 10:20am when they leave the Dr office
Couldnt get through the automated voice system to talk to anyone
They will never pick up the effing phone.
Is Riggs taken new patents ?
OK. Just
