Very nice place to work out and keep me on track with my fitness

The facility and equipment are good for a consistent workout routine. My only gripe would be with some of the trainers that treat the facility as if theyre the owners. Def a power trip, little respect but demand respect. Hopefully this is addressed bc it is a good gym in a good location.

The gyms fine and clean, but seriously what is up with the staff???? Like the most unfriendly people I’ve ever met.

I had a membership with planet fitness years ago and use to workout at the Ambassador location. I moved to a different city back in 2014-2015, cancel my services with planet fitness, the company is still charging my card & it’s 2021, and never been back since. I spoke with a Supervisor today name Jessie and he could not help me. Jessie stated I needed to call another location. The bad experience I had to deal with at the planet fitness in Lafayette I would never recommend nobody to have a membership with this company. I explain to Jessie multiple times to stop charging my card and planet fitness is still charging my card every month.

I am recently new at working out at a gym and the only reason I give 3 stars is because although the gym is very nice, clean, and equipment is in great shape... the employees how ever was not very helpful over the phone seemed kind of bugged to be asked questions when I went their was one guy not sure of his name was super nice and helpful the young woman and the other guy think his name started with an M was completely rude but I still got the membership and I just kind of ignore them!

First time back since the pandemic and they made some big renovations while I was gone. Great additions/changes!

They recently finished renovation on the whole place and it looks really nice. Equipment are in really good condition and the place is always clean. Its also quite large so plenty of equipment are available in multiple areas. For ten bucks a month its a hard deal to beat. The crowd is very mixed. Theres not one type of crowd at any given time. Basically everyone and their mothers go here it seems like. Beware of the busy hours though. When it gets busy its very very busy.

Gym is always CLEAN. Members have access to cleaning supplies for equipment and hand sanitizing stations. I go there daily and the staff is always cleaning. Masks are required. I feel very safe there. Also, members have so many options for fitness and if needed, the staff can help. Im very thankful for their recent upgrades and modifications. Planet fitness on Ambassador is doing a fabulous job. This is my 2nd year of membership and dont plan on going anywhere else.

I called and inquired about how to go about cancelling my membership on January 17th when they drafted for another month. I was told to mail a letter or come in person requesting a cancellation and it would be taken care of. About January 20th I mailed a cancellation letter in. Today I was charged for another month membership. When I called to ask why, the assistant manager said he emailed me but did not hear anything back so they kept my membership. Even after I went through with mailing a letter, YES I WANT IT CANCELLED. So I check my email, no emails from them trying to reach out, ask him to forward it and it finally came through on the 3rd try. Then he proceeds to tell me that I now have to come in person to cancel. I’ve moved, that’s not an option and this is not what I was told before.Finally after him trying to get off the phone with me, he text his manager and she approved the cancellation over the phone. So I had to pay cancellation fee because they were not responsible enough to cancel as I requested, 3 weeks prior to monthly membership dues. This guys attitude sucks.

Super clean, really nice people and the locker rooms are immaculate. Lots of space and its never too crowded. And you cant beat the price.I only wish the personal training sessions were available on the weekend so I could go when Im not at work!

Recently remodeled and it looks great! Cleanliness of this location is on point! Staff is friendly and just the right amount of moderation. They are following Covid guidelines as well and have someone walking around to check every so often. Sucks to have to wear a mask while exercising but nice to know theyre following the rules and making it a safe place for everyone to come to. Happy with my membership at this gym.

Facility needs an answering machine or better method to give details on certain times when facility is open/closed due to holiday, COVID, inclement weather, etc. Members should not have to drive to site to determine if open/closed. Website does not update this information with accuracy and recommend have number members can call to hear of status of open/closed...

Theres definitely enough equipment in this place! Dont usually have to wait for a machine.

Do not join here. They make it so hard to cancel and they will continue to charge your bank account for months and refuse to stop charging. then when they finally grace you with a call back they just say oh well you should have came here in person. There are so many better options.

Everyone was wearing masks. They ask that you wipe down with disinfectant before and after use. I never saw them do anything. New inexperienced people. Mgr was never there when I needed to speak to her. I left my name and number numerous times. I wont return to that location. They accept Silver Sneakers. *You must have a checking account to sign up. They do not accept anything else as a New Member. That part needs to be changed!

Been going to gym for years and youll following mask order that dont make since. Employee told me have to wear mask to walk in but dont have to wear when working out. Does that make any sense like the virus is that smart . Very disappointed on youll going against our choice to choose to wear or not. Youll say youll dont judge but did. Canceled membership and will never go back

Guy said my membership was cancelled after mylast bad review and I just got charged again. Turns out I have to call the exact gym I signed up at.Edit: PF removed my last review. This place is total garbage.

Finally stopped making me out on a mask to go tan

Was told I had to wear my mask even while doing a set. However its not required to when doing cardio. So I told the employee that the mask mandate does not exclude cardio. His reply, the fire Marshall superceded it. When does the the fire Marshall supercede the state governor? This guy is a moron and so is this pathetic chain.

Been going there for years, ever since Lafayette health club shut down. For 10 bucks a month no complaints. You arent going to turn intona professional bodybuilder there. But there is plenty enough variety to get you muscular and in shape. If I had to change something, I would add more pre loaded barbells up to 120 lbs and dumbbells higher that 75 lbs.

I had a membership here a while back and you cant get a better deal on a gym membership. The prepaid yearly plan is amazing and the equipment is constantly upgraded and maintained very well. The location is nice also. Staff is friendly and they even provide personal trainers at no extra cost.

Great gym for me, as a beginner. Sure, there’s a lack of free weight barbells, but that’s an extremely minor nitpick. Whatever gets you working out and healthier is the right choice, period. Pretty much anyone can afford $10/month, which lowers the barrier to entry significantly, so there’s really zero excuse to not go.

Basic gym with lots of cardio equipment. Good for the price. Heavy staff turnover though, so if you have any questions beyond the speech they need to know to sign people up make sure you ask a manager. Just wasted an hour of my time for nothing because employees did not understand what they are talking about.

I enjoy being a black card member at Planet Fitness. Always clean with lots of machines to accommodate everyone and the locker room is always immaculate. I bring my own lock as they arent provided. I enjoy the water massager and tanning. If I were to change one thing I wish there were some lay down beds. Otherwise I love being a member and the ability to go to any Planet Fitness that I choose. I am about to go on vacation and use a location in the next town. I hope it is as nice as my local Planet Fitness.

I hate thumbs gym every little noise I do that damn alarm goes off I’m looking for another gym this make no sense

For $10 a month you cannot beat what you get access to here. The staff is friendly, the equipment is clean, and selection of equipment to use is great. They have finally added some new equipment which was well overdue. For the price, its a steal.

I like the place but I am really frustrated with the employees. I am overweight and new to working out with some of the machines. All the employees are at the front desk huddled together and cant be found on the floor to ask for help when needed. I have no idea how to use some of the machines and dont want to hurt myself. The only individuals helping me out at times is the one working out next to me.

Yes if you go between the hours of 4pm and 7pm then its busy. But the other 21 hours of the day is never a problem; to get in, do your routine, and get out without fighting over equipment. Very affordable and convenient.

They dont gave paper towels to clean the machines. There isnt a staff member monitoring if machines are clean. This a breeding ground for COVID19

I travel extensively for my job, and joined PF because they are everywhere. This is probably my least favorite gym in the 7 state territory that I cover. The biggest issue was that I literally saw no one wiping down the equipment after they used it. With as many gym rats that were there, youd think they would know better. I may have picked a bad time, but it was extremely crowded and like another reviewer said, there are groups that will hoard the free weights, so dont expect to get in and out quickly. Not a bad gym, just not up to PF standards IMO.

Couple years member at this location. Cheap. Has plenty of equipment. Showers are tiny. Too many ellipticals not enough benches. Stretch area to small. Always good temperature. Do not go between 430 and 630 for weights. Never had any negative issue with patrons. 4 stars for no negative experiences and the price.

I have been a member of PF for months and it has been great, but Hallie and another employee needs to work on being friendly and welcoming. My son signed up and said he did not receive a tour or any run down of the place either.

I like the gym the price is great. I have an issue with the cardio equipment. There is no upper body cardio machines. Ive been in Planet Fitness locations From Oregon to Florida and this is the first one that doesnt even have a rowing machine or an upper body bike. The other 2 planet fitness gyms give live feed on how busy they are and yours does not.

My happy place. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I am greeted with a smile. The new equipment is wonderful.

I saw exercise equipment, and I got to use it.10/10 would get the gains again.

This place has went way downhill. The price is what always brings people in but it’s very far from friendly for women who workout here. Expect to be profiled and be treated second-rate. Go anywhere else and don’t fall into the trap. Beware!

Ive just begun and I feel comfortable especially since I didnt exercise much.

The staff is very rude and highly unknowledgeable about what the gym has to offer. They could all use more training, especially in the customer skills department. I’d rate zero stars if possible, but the machines and weights are managable

Rules are not being followed... A lot of guys yelling and huddling in groups and joking and laughing extremely loud are not being told anything. Girls are barely wearing clothes... just recently has been this way been a member the past year and have never had any problems till last couple months. Would not recommend ending membership and finding another gym. If you are confident in your appearance the equipment and amenities are well worth the money.

This Planet Fitness is not nearly as nice as other locations. The staff is very friendly and the location is great, but the facility could use improvement. The tanning bed bulbs are never changed (not once since I joined in April), so it is pointless to pay extra for the gold memebership if your intention is to use tanning beds and actually get any color. The water filter on the fountain is also never changed, so the water tastes bad. The locker rooms are not nice like other PF locations.

Been going for a couple years, very convenient. The long time staff members are great and friendly. Does get busy and over crowded during peak hours and around the holidays/after new years/pizza Mondays. So, dont expect to get in and out quickly if you want to lift weights. We need another one in... Scott? Pet peeves: 1.) They allow people to hog the free weights 2.) Dont really enforce the judgement free rules (some muscle freaks with their gallon jugs still walk around, grunt occasionally) 3.) Blackcard machines break down/computer goes down more often then not 4.) On weekends, sometimes there is no one at the front desk

Awesome value for the price. $10/month with all the cardio and weights you need. Staff is friendly and helpful. Bryce the manager is a great guy. But I still cant lose weight.

SO many different equipment to pick from, tanning beds, the massage booth, water massage table, 2 massage chairs, friendly employees and best part about it, is the price. I have recommended this place to everyone I know! I attend the one on Moss St though

Clean, great gym. However, the employees dont enforce the rules. So many people talk very loudly on their phones in the workout areas and its very distracting. Also, one of the trainers teaches the clients improper use of machines. Its a lawsuit waiting to happen.

I love the left arm curl machine, thanks to growing up to moms Victoria secrets subscription, I have no use for the right arm curl machine, you may remove it.

The price is great. I dont like how the Matt section is so small and can get crowded during busy hours. Theres a lot of people, rare to find it busy so its a bit uncomfortable for me. Also, no one on one training with a trainer.

This place is every quick to take your money and refusing to stop. My x-boyfriend got me a membership that he paid for. When we broke up, I moved out of the state. They are refusing to cancel the account for him, even though he is the one that has always paid for it. When I called them the staff at this location refused to cancel the account unless I was standing in front of them or expressed mailed them an official letter stating I wanted to cancel. Either had to be done before they would stop charging my x. I cant comprehend why company would allow you to sign up online, but refuse to let you cancel over the phone. I will NOT drive 14 hours to stand in front of your very rude staff to prove I no long live in the state and to stop TAKING money. They may preach no judgement, but clearly greed is okay for them.

I had a membership and then I got married and moved 45 minutes away. They made me pay $63 to get out of my contract. This place just wants your money not care about you. I didn’t chose to cancel cuz I didn’t want to go. I chose to close cuz I do not drive 45 to work out. Does anybody? I can understand if I was just closing the account but cuz I live 45 minutes away and can give proof they still made me pay. They just want your money they don’t care about your health!

Horrible, horrible, horrible staff! Austin is a VERY rude and snobby individual! He tried to tellme that my membership was invalid when I JUST paid for another month’s subscription. He also tried to tell me that I wasn’t even in the system when I JUST scanned my membership card. He was incredibly unnecessarily rude about the whole ordeal. People like that, lacking customer service skills, should not have a job dealing with the public. I’ll definitely be cancelling my membership and going to a different gym. Judgement free zone my ass! There is also an asian/chinese girl who is NOT very knowledgable about what guests can and cannot do. Then she tried to argue with me about what a MANAGER told me I can do as a guest. When it was brought to her attention by another staff member that she was indeed wrong, she did not apologize, but simply gave me a rude look!

Lots of equipment. Always cool with a good breeze to help you keep going.

If you are joining for the circuit training, forget it! People who either don’t understand or don’t care will take the machines ahead of you. Some will even sit on their cell phones at the machine and not even work out.Management is very weak at this location and will not run these people out of the circuit area. Complaining even on the corporate level does nothing.Bottom Line: If you’re serious about working out, this is probably not the right place for you.

You cant beat this place for $10 per month! Because its so cheap, its very popular. It can get crowded at times (mostly on Mondays), but its workable. Staff is very nice. Open 24 hours. Tons of equipment and free weights. My only complaint is they are a little slow to fix broken equipment, but thats not too often (ive been there a year, and ive only seen two or three machines broken. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone, regardless of age or fitness level.

Ive only been going for a few days so my opinion may change. But, upon first impression I wasnt very satisfied. I signed up for the black card membership online. When I went to the gym to get started I was literally just handed a key tag(not even the right one because they are out of the black) and that was that. No tour, no explanation of the facility or benefits of the black card...nada.. I just had to figure it out for myself. The girls were to busy chatting I guess to be bothered with me, a paying customer..

READ THIS. Well I have been going to this gym for about a year and a half now with my black card membership.. My wife who is 7 months pregnant usually sits and waits in the front at the small tables while I hit the weights. But recently they have gotten a new manager that has been enfocing policies like crazy. She even went as far as to tell me my wife cant sit at the tables because she is a liability. (But she can be my guest and walk on the tread mill when she feels up for it)... its a shame. All of the signs say judgment free zone, but the vibe I get now is the opposite of that.. I hope someone fires this woman, because it ruins my mood/workout when thier is a crazy woman running this gym like a dictator....

Worst customer service, when I called them to cancel my subscription, they dont know address on top of their head great

Hidden fees and wouldnt let me cancel even after contract was over without an insanely high price. Then continued charging after cancellation. Spoken to manager several times and continued to be charged after cancelling. Manager claims nothing they can do. They make it impossible to reach anyone higher up so I called and they claimed as well there was nothing they could do, that only my local club could fix the charges. Seems even after signing for cancellation and paying your over $100 in those hidden fees, they will still charge without your permission. I ended up calling my bank and they blocked anymore charges from coming through, but theyre still attempting to charge. Will NEVER go back to this gym.
