Back in 2015, had originally signed up with this location anytime fitness and it was an absolutely great place to work out.Fast forward to 2019, I became a personal trainer for the Lockhart anytime fitness for 2 years and in the midst of that two years I had canceled (In what I WAS NOTIFIED was canceled) my agreement contract for anytime fitness Kyle by a manager going by the name of Aaron at the time, and to my surprise fast forwarding to 2021, Im now receiving a balance for a contract that I was UNDERSTANDING to be cancelled. I now have a high balance Sitting on my credit report due to the fact that there was no communication,I was never notified that I had payments racking up on this account. It was clearly notified to me that as an employee, this agreement had been canceled.This place has honestly shown to be so unprofessional when it comes to accounts and records of responsibility. Ive tried to dispute but have had no luck. Im extremely disappointed in the fact that I was an employee for this company for 2 years and brought in a very high revenue during the time, just to be treated as such. Such GREAT memories with this gym and company, but unfortunately I would not recommend coming to this place, or signing up for what seems to be a locked in trap and contract. I have been on the employment side and can tell you they DO NOT contact you multiple times to let you know you have a balance. Just a shame to have my opinion switch so drastically because of the lack of communication and care from this location.
Reading reviews about other people having trouble with cancellation. Basically, here is their cancellation policy not clearly outlined when you sign up in person. You can’t cancel because it’s no longer convenient for you and because you choose to sign up with another gym. You can’t cancel because you don’t want to be a part of their gym anymore. The only way you can cancel is if you move outside of a 25 mile radius from an anytime fitness location; you get deployed from the military; or have a medical note saying you cannot work out. Otherwise, you have to pay a years worth of membership fees up front or stay on their month to month plan and hope you don’t forget to cancel before the year ends. 🤷🏻♀️ So I guess I’m stuck with this month to month fee on a gym I won’t visit. If you’re looking into this location, read the fine print because they won’t clearly explain it to you. It’s not as simple as paying a cancellation fee or going into the gym to sign a paper to cancel or send a certified letter. Ask the questions, read the fine print. That was my mistake! Just wanted to make sure no one else falls into this.
I just needed a month of gym use, the staff was great in working with me to get me a good deal. Had the equipment i needed. Seems to be very clean. Overall for my needs its a good place.
Here is the reason for poor communication. I cancelled my membership in 2017 with Ian Mader, I believe the manager at the time. My cancellation was never submitted. I reached out to ABC Financial, a third party billing service, informing them about my anytime fitness cancellation. ABC Financial removed my payment information so no payments could be made. I never received any billing notifications, never received a letter of cancellation, never had any idea I was still an active member of anytime fitness. I have been billed for 3 years for a total of $1100 and have never used this gym since 2017. ABC Financial then sold my debt to a debt collector Kingston Collections without notifying me a payment was due. Now I have a collections on my credit report due to poor communication. After reading your google reviews this seems to be an ongoing issue with customers. Poor communication, poor quality, not professional.
Haven’t live in Tx in 2 years and still charging my card. I mailed in a letter twice and they still claim to have not received it. Would not recommend if you plan on having to ever cancel.
Today I noticed $250 is owed to a collection agency in Canada from this anytime fitness after I was told my account would be canceled. This gym is small with barely any equipment and they want to lock you into a membership cost that doesnt match the facilities quality. My advice would be to not join this gym at all and to join bluedge fitness across the street its way better. Spare yourself the headache of membership cancellation and them telling lies to lock you in . ( owner response is just to make the club look good no refund or anything has been done. I paid the bill and will not return but wanted to warn others )

They shut down for a little but during the covid scenario... never called me.. Ive called many many times.. no one ever answers the phone. Ive been wanting to cancel.. now I have a collections for $200? What a joke.

I go here cause they have what I need. I dont need the glitzy tanning beds, hot tubs, massage chairs. Give me some free weights, dumb bells, good to go. Its a gym, not a spa.
Dirty sometimes but more bearable than the San Marcos location. The equipment here is not as good and is poorly organized. It gets overcrowded no matter what time you go. Sometimes there are no sanitizing wipes or hand sanitizer, but the staff and members here are usually friendly.
0/10. It’s always dirty. Do yourself a favor and go across the street to blue edge fitness they actually clean the equipment and the gym. Bathrooms are absolutely disgusting you would think with having all these months off from Covid they would’ve took the time to clean the place but that sure hasn’t happened. Don’t work out here.
Decent gym, but its over-priced for whats available and its size. They never ever answer their phones, and they have no answering machine, so if you ever want to contact management, you have to walk in during work hours. Lastly, scheduled payments within 30 days of cancellation of a membership are mandatory. That means if you cancel on March 1st, theyre still going to charge you on April 1st. So, be prepared to deal with money-grabbing management, and unalterable policies if you sign up here. Same as any gym, really.
I really dont like this facility; can be maintained a lot better but thats not my call; I started going to the one in Buda which is a much better gym, and maintained a lot better.
Gym is completely disgusting. It looks as if it hasnt been cleaned in a year. With the shut down, you would think it would be spotless. I was visiting the area so tried it, thankfully my AF gym is not like this one. I will stick with cedar park and anderson mills location and when in kyle go to PF, The planet fitness in buda is tons cleaner .
I like the AF in Kyle better than Buda. More equipment, more space.

I joined this gym while I was living in Kyle from 2016-2017. I went somewhat frequently but then discontinued to pursue my fitness at this location. I had signed a 2 year agreement that was to expire on 04/04/2019. Although I have not been at this gym in nearly 2 years, I continued to pay the monthly fees because I know the hassle it can be to cancel a gym contract. I had the hopes of riding out my 2 year agreement and that being the end of this money pit, however when I called to confirm I DID NOT want to roll into month to month agreements with the gym, the employee I spoke to informed me that I would need to 1) send a certified letter or 2) come into the gym to sign paperwork. Well...I lived 1.5 hours north of Kyle now, and have attempted to send a certified letter over the past month, without delivery because their was not an appropriate employee available. This morning I have tried to call 4 separate times without receiving an answer, additionally their mailbox is full and I have no option to otherwise hang up and try again later. The gym was not that bad, pretty decent equipment and general friendly staff from what I remember, but trying to cancel my membership has been the worst experience and waste of money.UPDATE: Certified letter has yet again not been accepted and they have charged my account once more. This is absolutely ridiculous. They dont answer the phone, they dont accept certified mail, they cant even seem to reply to this review. STAY AWAY FROM THIS GYM.
My contract was transferred to this facility without my permission despite me only using the facility maybe twice. It has been such a hassle to cancel my membership due to this. I was texted by Aaron about this and even sent emails to ABC financial and to this gym and they have still charged me for the last three months, despite having provided a 30 days written notice of cancellation. Never giving anytime my business again and definitely not giving this location my business.
I love this place. Im here 3 times a week. The staff waves to me every time I come in. Most people are good about cleaning the equipment when theyre done. Its a small location so you start to see the same familiar faces after a while. Theres enough equipment to do what you need to do. Ive never had to wait for a machine. Love coming at night too.
Good equipment, convenient location right off 35 and I love its open 24 hours. The manager Aaron was great. Friendly and answered all my questions. 5 stars for me.
Dirty, equipment everywhere
Trash cans always overflowing, toilets and mirrors are often dirty, and Ive just had poor experience after poor experience with 100% of the trainers here....from being stood up for a personal training appointment with no apology, to unprofessional responses to my questions about the terms of my contract. Its crazy to pay for something and be treated so badly. Beyond frustrated with my experience.

I give anytime fitness @ kyle 5 stars! This place has all the components to a healthier lifestyle. The tunes are always on point and the weights themselves are always there, very organized. The staff is always friendly and willing to help with anything. Whether you need a spotter or some tips on a good work out program, Aaron and the staff is there to assist. Def recommend this gym to anyone in hays county. In the short time ive been there anytime fitness has improved my health and deminor. THANKS.

I personally like this location. Its pretty big and spacious. Some of the equipment should be updated though.

Even if you are out of contract, they wont cancel your membership when you request it without making you come in (even if you now live out of state)!!! This is a SCAM! AVOID!!!
This is an update in response to the owners response.My first request to cancel was in November of 2017. This ethical manager told me that there is no paperwork required because my membership was transferred to an anytime fitness in Pennsylvania. He should have told me to fill out paper work if it was needed. The paperwork you see is in May because it cant be backdated to clear up the confusion. If you show that my last visit was in December, do you really believe that I would let you take my money like that? I have been to that gym recently to talk to the manager and the conditions are still the same. This is not ethical.THE MANAGER IS A LIAR. DONT BELIEVE ANYTHING THEY SAY AND READ EVERYTHING THAT YOU SIGN. MAKE SURE YOU SIGN A PAPER WHEN YOU CANCEL, EVEN IF THEY TELL YOU THAT YOU DONT HAVE TO.Sad that simple basic human decency doesnt apply at this gym when you need to cancel. My experience at this gym has been OK until I had established my home gym and needed to cancel. I spoke to the manager about this and he told me that I had to transfer my membership from an anytime in Pennsylvania. My membership had been transferred without my knowledge and I dont live in Pennsylvania. The next day I went in, he told me that my last payment will be in December and that theres nothing else that I need to do. I trusted him and thought wow, hes providing good customer service for someone who is canceling. Wrong, he lied to me. 5 months later and Im still getting monthly charges and a maintenance fee. I go in to talk to him about it and I expected the same customer service that I had been provided before. Instead of trying to help me, he demanded me to show him a paper that Ive signed. I took his word last time that I didnt have to sign anything because the gym in Pennsylvania had my membership. He doesnt remember of course because it was months ago. But I was sure that he would help, seeing that I have not been in for months and theres no reason that I would waste money like that, I was wrong. So he lied to me and I suspect that he did it to keep the payments coming in.As for the actual gym. The bars are beat up, the composite bushings are well worn out. There is something broken in every restroom. The lock is broken on one door, leading someone to surprise you while you are sitting on the toilet. The weight plates are terrible to deadlift with due to their shape. It seems like there is always something broken. They walk by full trash cans without taking them out. The equipment wipes are usually out. They never clean the floor as I notice the same toenail clippings on the floor for 9 days straight. After they clean it, the toenail clippings re appear. I dont care about dust or dirt, but thats gross.

They charge you an extra 20 dollars randomly twice a year to buy new equipment. No other gym does this ! It should be the gyms responsibility to keep up their equipment not ours! Also like person above me says tvs dont work always broken. Very annoying High school kids swarm this place at night when trainers leave. Im pretty sure you have to be 18+ to go in without adult supervision.

Service is not great... I pointed out damaged handles on a piece of equipment in November... Its January now... Still not fixed. Even tape would have been an improvement. The televisions on the equipment are operating only 15% or so. Needs work... Badly.

I was given wrong information when I signed up and therefore apparently I am now stuck in a contract with these people. Make sure you read the fine print because the way the way it is written is NOT the way it is discussed when you sign up. I dont want them to have any of my medical information. The gym stinks ALL the time, it is not clean, the TVs never work, etc.

I went just to try it out for the 7 day free trial I also asked questions while I was there about their plans. I didnt like that there was a lot of hidden fees that were not mentioned during the contract questions. If I would have never asked about hidden fees they would have never told me they would have just took my money. I thought that was kind of shady. Also on the second day I came back for my 7 day free trial to work out the front door was locked and I couldnt get in it was really embarrassing. They failed to give me a temporary key or pass of some sort. I missed my workout this morning on my way to work because of it.Sad day.
I love these guys. They will do whatever they can to help you attain your goal of fitness.
No swimming pool
I really like this gym, havent had an issue so far. Im noticing people complaining about TVs being broke...you go to the gym to work out, not watch TV, bring headphones and listen to music.
How do you even join if the staff is never there or responsive? Called earlier while standing outside trying to get in. Watched two of the staff just sit there and ignore me. Rude doesn’t even begin to describe that.
I don’t know where they got my information or phone number, but they continue to call me about specials. I have NEVER been to this location, or even an Anytime Fitness in general. After the harassment from this place, I will never go to any of their locations.
