We want to thank Grigore and staff for the wonderful resurfacing job on our hardwood floors. We are new to the area and just finding someone to refinish the floors was difficult. From the day we contacted Grigore’s Hardwood Flooring to the day of completion, every step was performed in a timely and professional manner. We were anticipating a lot of dust and to our surprise, a vaccum was attached to the sanding equipment and we had absolutely no dust. We appreciate the excellent quality of workmanship and would highly recommend them.

We hired Grigore Wood Flooring to gently refinish our Bruce hardwood floors. While many online forums suggest this cannot be done with quality, I now have proof and the result was breathtakingly fantastic. More so, my wife absolutely loves our new kitchen and dining area floor.Attention to Detail. I have never seen a contacted group of workers take so much pride and attention to detail to their work. During the final floor sanding, a small handheld sander was used for hours to ensure the highest quality in hard to reach places.Timing/Punctual. If they said they would arrive at 830am, they were there at 830am. They delivered the project on the timeline promised with no problems. Again, very high amount of pride and teamwork in the group.Cleanliness. Their truck has a portable ventilation system that removes all the dust from the sanding machines through an open window and vent duct. Zero dust in the main living area. No covering was required. I used my home HVAC (manual fan mode, built in filtration system) to remove the mild fumes as the stain and other coatings dried. No issue at night smelling strong fumes or dust. Very clean/thorough process.Quality. Their process restored my Bruce hardwood floor to original look, luster, feel, and quality. Their estimate will review your engineered wood floor and advise if they can refinish or not. Usually “one time” on a Bruce floor is possible.I have already started recommending Grigore and his crew to friends in the Knoxville area. If you need floors refinished, call them now. His mitered corners were just right, his assemblage of the planks was attractive. He was professional, responsive to comments, questions, and requests. Gina provided me with a prompt, professional estimate with measurements same day. The entire process was explained. Once we reviewed the options to find what would work within our budget, they gave an itemized list for our approval. They arrived as scheduled, and completed the project with no hassle and ON TIME. We are SO happy with how our two projects came out. We had some older flooring refinished to blend with the existing stair treads, and new flooring installed to match. It looks FANTASTIC, and I would definitely use them again.

In December 2018 we contracted with Grigore Hardwood Flooring to install Brazilian cherry flooring in our foyer, after first removing 40-year old ceramic floor tile and the concrete/mortar base it rested on. The price was reasonable, and the result was outstanding!We began with inspections and quotes from Grigore and another flooring company with excellent reputation. Both companies responded promptly. Perhaps a significant reason we chose Grigore were the examples of decorative flooring shown on his website. We chose to have our dark Brazilian cherry highlighted by a border of the dark wood and light maple. The tear-out was more work than anticipated, but Grigore and his crew did a great job of preparing the new subfloor. Indeed, his carpenter who did most of the prep work and finished flooring was highly skilled and did excellent work. We could not have been more pleased.

The best hardwood floors I’ve ever seen done. I have yet to see better from another company. This company by far outdoes them all. It’s the best Hardwood flooring company in East Tennessee.

I think they could have, and probably usually do, better. There are very noticeable spots throughout the house where the floor still has the old stain color. There are also sanding marks throughout home. Just not what I expect from someone with his experience or price range.

Grigores Hardwood Flooring was an excellent company to work with for our ~570 sq ft solid hardwood installation project in our home. They were methodical and thorough when they came over to measure and inspect the project to provide me a quote. Being referred to them from Angies List, they were able to apply a significant discount coupon for the project. They arrived promptly and worked efficiently, and they were gracious and accommodating as I asked questions about the on-going project, addressing my concerns about any details as they went along. They took good care of my appliances and new floor as they initially moved and then replaced our stove, refrigerator, washer and dryer. The initial 2 day estimated project length turned into 2.5 days, but the extremely high quality of the work and attention to detail was worth it.Another exceptional detail of their work was the extremely low scrap/waste ratio. Their measurements, cuts, and layout of our 5 wide boards was impressively efficient, as we purchased ~15% extra hardwood, and in the end, the job was completed with only about a 1% scrap/waste usage, which left us 3 full boxes of wood leftover, which we now have the ability to save for the future or even return to the store to recoup ~$350. I highly recommend using them for any of your hardwood flooring projects.

Absolutely gorgeous floors!!! And...we should know. We brought in Grigores to redo a really bad refinishing job by another company. We were completely blown away. The floors are like silk...literally. We actually have to be careful not to slip in our socks :-) Their attention to detail and communication is unlike any other.Weve done extensive research on hardwood flooring in the area. We discovered that Grigores pricing is a little higher, but still in the range of what you would find around town. If you have a choice....go with these guys. You will NOT be disappointed!

The BEST from start to finish. Grigore quickly gave me a binding estimate and explained the process from start to finish. The quality and craftsmanship of the hard-working team was excellent. They worked long hours until the job was completed. We had over 2000 square feet completed and the lack of dust was amazing. The final product was on time and at the original estimate.

Grigores people did a great job on removing my old carpet and installing new hardwood flooring in two large rooms. They were very professional and ask me a few questions at the start of the job and proceeded to do a great job. I would recommend them for installation of wood flooring. They did not waste any materials and told me to only order 5% waste. I am thinking of having them do some refinishing on some existing floor based on the work they have done for other people I know.

Grigore and his crew did an excellent job refinishing our floors. The floors in our 1940s home had been covered up with carpet for many years and several repairs had to be done. The repair work was done very skillfully and the floors now look great.

This will be one of the easiest reviews to write after having an amazing experience with Grigores. Our experience was somewhat unique but Ill give some background to put Grigores work in perspective.We purchased a home in May and signed on with a general contractor to do a remodel before we moved. The home has about 1,700 sq. feet of hardwood and we wanted to replace existing linoleum in the kitchen and breakfast area with similar wood. The GC brought in their flooring sub (local outfit, not Grigore) and made an absolute mess of the flooring project. Poor quality wood was installed, sloppy sanding around edges, door jambs were not sanded properly with old stain left, uneven sanding with the drum sander, rolling a refrigerator through wet floor seal, dirty boot prints under the floor seal, drywall dust under the top coat, etc...The competitors work was so poor we fired the general contractor who was unwilling to hold the sub accountable for their work.We brought in another GC to take over the project that use Grigores for their hardwood projects. I think we went from the worst flooring company in the region to the absolute best.Heres what stands out about Grigores:1. Outstanding communication during the project. Gina in the office is amazing. She coordinates the project and made sure everything was ready for the work dates. There were no surprises about the process and she made sure we were informed every step of the way. Words cant describe her attention to detail and shes incredibly knowledgeable. She was an advocate for the customer and never pressured us into an upsale of any kind. After project completion, Gina met with us at the house to talk about floor care and make sure the job was done to our satisfaction.2. Daniel was the tech who did all the work on our floors. Sanding, staining, poly, sealer. He is a one man show that is probably better described as a craftsman than a technician. I think the fact he worked by himself allowed him to have complete ownership of the project and he had an eye for detail, getting in corners properly, even sanding, filling in gaps with wood filler (troweled the entire floor), etc. He stayed on schedule and worked into the evenings but I never sensed he felt rushed. Im confident you wont find a more skilled floor guy than Daniel and will ask for him by name when we need floor work in the future.3. Price - someone mentioned Grigores was overpriced. Our estimates had Grigores in the higher end of the range but not out of line. I want value as much as the next person but Im not willing to save a few dollars for subpar work. You may get lucky with a lower cost floor company but the risk of having a botched job will be there. Grigores reviews are solid for a reason - at least our experience made us believers.If youre reading this, Im sure a flooring job is in your future. If you want a reputable company with great results, Grigore is a great place to start.

There will be some dust, but nothing like the old fashioned sanding jobs leave behind.Lets face it, preparing ones home to have antique oak floors refinished is a grueling job. Crew did a fantastic job on our floors! They even had to hand carry a very heavy desk and piano by hand. I was amazed!!!

This is a great company. The owner is professional, detailed and very nice. They worked efficiently. Cant say enough nice things about them. After I paid a couple spots came up (the people before me treated some pet stains with something causing a chemical reaction). Grigore immediately came over and took care of the problem- and was very helpful and customer-focused through the process. Hard to find a company that would call you back and actually come out and do more work after youve paid. Very pleased. Ill be calling them again for future homes!

I had another company come in and attempt to buff my floors but the poly pealed and it looked terrible. They came back 2 more times and it still looked terrible. I fired them and called Grigore. Grigore, sanded the floors down, then added poly to them and they look amazing. Save yourself some time and go with Grigore the first time

We have encountered several other refinishers over the years and Grigores is a very knowledgeable, efficient and worthy competitor.

I guess I just got unlucky because it has been a bad experience. Wrong color, hard to communicate, spilt stain on my carpet and covered up, sand marks, dishwasher and appliances not secured properly, and about 20 other small imperfections on the floor....Worst of all the owner and I agreed to resolve this at a reduced rate... However he never relayed this message to his crew.Last week the worker came by my house and said I needed to pay him, saying that I never paid anything... obviously Grigore never shared my 50% deposit with him.... He threatened me by saying that I better pay or I would not like what happens if I dont pay.... saying he will get his money one way or the other... I have since reported this to the police and the BBB.

I own a local carpet cleaning company and as a result my guys and I have been in thousands of homes in the Knoxville area and have had the opportunity to see many different hardwood refinishers work, so it was based off this knowledge that I choose Grigores to refinish our floors at our farm in Maryville. I have to say, I was continually impressed with how they bent over backwards to ensure I was happy with my floors. Their guy really helped us pick the right stain mixture that we liked for the floor. Grigore explained all the different products and the pros and cons of each to us, and we learned a lot along the process. When my wife and I believed there was an issue with the stain color Grigore explained the situation to us and he was right, after the sealer was applied it was the same color and looked really remarkable. I have been in businesses all of my life and I understand that doing the job well is only half the battle, customer service is extremely important and I have to say on all accounts Grigores was remarkable. I will be sending them all our refinishing referrals from now on.
