Per Mark Smithson, owner. He feels as if he is above the law and is allowed to deduct employees wages without consent. My husband who worked for Eastwood landscaping was hired on by a supervisor he knows personally. This supervisor offered him $17 per hour to come work for them. My husband worked for about a week before his former employer called him to come back with a pay raise. When my husband received his paycheck On 8.4.2021 he had a note from his receptionist stating “$13 per hour per Mark Smithson.”What Mr. Smithson must not know is per Tenn. Code. Ann. § 50-2-103 (d) An employees pay can be reduced as long as the employer notifies the employee BEFORE any work is done. Therefore he failed to do so. He owes my husband for the wages he took out. Since he refuses to make this right and considering I’m not a “backwoods hillbilly” (as he would say) and I do have a degree in Human Resources and I DO KNOW the law we have filed a case with the labor board.Unfortunately, he will continue to get away with this until someone does something. He hires people who are in need of employment then treats them like animals. Nobody will step up in because they’re in fear of their jobs. Fortunately, we’re not in fear of losing and employment at Eastwood and will not be back.

This place has a lot of people trash talked about and all I have to say is the owner of Eastwood landscaping Mark is a hard man to work for but he is a good man and he and employees do the job that the customer paid for right down to the tee every time and the guys I work with and my Boss is better than yours

I called to get a landscaping quote and was told Mark will call me to set up an appointment. After 3 weeks, no call. No nothing.

I saw their company truck this afternoon on I-640. They had a plastic pot go flying off the back into traffic behind it. Their driver was also driving aggressively, riding the bumpers of everyone who had the misfortune of being in front of him.
