Finding a decent, honest mechanic can be very stressful. Many people have horror stories about visiting the wrong shop, fortunately, there is Dan’s Auto Service! We were traveling for work from Kentucky to Florida and broke down. Not knowing anything about this area we turned to google. After reading a few reviews it was clear who to call, we were not disappointed. As soon as the tow truck driver got our truck on the ground, Dan wasted no time at all. Immediately found the problem, ordered the alternator and had us back on the road within an hour!!! We couldn’t have asked for a better end, to a very stressful day! We highly recommend this company, he would have all our business if only we lived closer!

Very straight forward on repairs needed. Other shops said the head needed replaced. It was quickly diagnosed as having a bad head gasket. In and out in a day at a very fair market price. I will use again and definitely reccomend Dans Auto Service.

Dan has fixed my family suv. And then in have taken him some of my fleet vans and big trucks. He jumped on them fast. One time while my drivers waited for the repair. He got us back up and running so i didn’t have a truck down. Very reasonably priced and very professional.

Not cheap and vehicle still squeals.

I didnt actually get any work done there, but I tried to go in to ask what part needed to be replaced on my 01 crown vic. Even though I couldnt find the shop (because they had moved a week prior and Google maps hadnt updated the location yet) Dan helped me with the problem over the phone. I sent him a picture of the part that was broken, and he helped me figure out what was wrong. Over all I would say this was a very wonderful experience.

Our 18 year old son was meeting us halfway from college to spend Thanksgiving with us. Just as we were leaving, our son called to tell us his car had broken down. He was 3 hours from campus, over an hour from our destination, and 3 hours from us. Being desperate for help and hoping we would find someone who was not only honest but could do the work quickly, we found Dans on the internet and gave him a call. They made sure my son was safe until we could get there and assured us they would look at his car the next morning. They assessed two issues, fixed them and had his car ready to pick up by Saturday of the Thanksgiving weekend. Our son drove 3 hours back to his college campus with no issues at all. Dan and team, you give your clients great comfort knowing you will do exactly what you say you will do and you do not price gouge the customer. Thank you! Thank you! So far all Ive had were a couple of oil changes. But I found Dans to be professional and caring. I will definitely consider this shop when needing other work on my car.

Everyone was very helpful and welcoming at Dans, they looked at my car and he told us from his experience what he thought it would be. He was very thorough and jumped right to it as soon as we pulled in. He definitely was very interested in helping us find out what the problem was! Excellent service!!! We were from out of town and had our jeep break down. I did a quick Google search and Dans was near us. We called and he said to bring our jeep right over. We got there and he was waiting for us and they went right to work on it. Super nice and we loved his dog, Blue. I cant say enough about how glad we were to have went there. Thanks!!!

My Mazda Miatas clutch was in really bad shape, and I need to have my timing belt changed. I went to Dans Auto Services and he was able to give me a really great price, and did it in a really timely matter. He was really nice and made sure the job was done right ! The guys here do great work. I’d definitely recommend anyone who needs more than an oil change to these guys. Great price, little down time, and the quality is always there. They even gave me a follow up phone call to make sure the work was holding up after some time had passed!

Dan came to our rescue when our commute from Charlotte to Indianapolis was interrupted with a front end suspension failure. He arranged a tow and was able to make our repair a priority. Rather than having to wait 4 hours in his waiting area, he drove us up to a local eatery, where wed be more comfortable. We were back on the road that afternoon without any further delays. We greatly appreciate the excellent service we received during this highly stressful situation. I0 stars would better reflect our level of satisfaction.

My alternator and AC went out recently and I took it to Dans. Based off my experiences at other repair shops I was hoping I could get it back the next day as its my only means of transportation..which is a reasonable time frame considering I brought it in late afternoon. The car was fixed and ready to go in 3 hours..that day! The price was honest and reasonable. I probably would have paid at least $200 more at another shop to have my alternator replaced, new battery, and AC fixed. And I would have had to wait a day or two before I actually got it back.The car is on its last leg now at 200K miles so Im looking for a new one. Dan offered to take a look at whatever car I end up finding to make sure its mechanically sound. I certainly will.

My car was overheating, so I took it to Dans. I was there right when they opened, but they had me in, looked at, and diagnosed in under 20 minutes. And had it all fixed up by lunchtime. Very fast, professional, didnt feel like I was being gouged on cost. Would definitely go back next time I need a repair!

I had a on going problem with my car and I took it to a couple places that said its fixed and the problem continued. I then took the car to Dans Auto Service. Dan was very helpful and repaired the car at a cheaper price then the others in a timely manner. I will always take my car to Dans in the future and I highly recommend Dans auto service for all auto repairs. My 20 year old daughter broke down while in Knoxville for a job interview with closest family hundreds of miles away. Found Dan on the Internet and had AAA tow her. Coolant fan disintegrated. He found the parts and had her on the road in just over 2 hours and was wonderful.

Only mechanic in town I trust! Had ongoing issues with both of my cars (suburban and built civic) took to several places for repair and everyone stated problem fixed. But no kept happening. So finally took the suburban to him and in a mater of hours it was fixed running perfect and was half the cost I paid other shops. So then I took my civic to him running rough after an extensive engine build that no one else seemed to be able to figure out. Well what you know again in a few hours he called me and the civic is perfect. By far a Honda god. Dont listen to all the hype about other so called Honda shops come see Dan and he will have it taken care of asap and Im sure youll be happy with the cost! Great guy recommend him to anyone.

I bought a used BMW 6 months ago and it has been leaking oil. I took it to the dealer and well lets just say I needed an altenative solution. I found Dan on craigslist and with the help of the Topix forum decided to give him a try. One of the best decisions I have ever made. Also, one of the most honest mechanics Ive ever dealt with! He told me the items that ACTUALLY needed to be repaired and not the trumped up repairs previously given to me. I also didnt feel taken advantage of because I am a woman. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DANS AUTOMOTIVE!!

Seems like they know what there doing.drop truck there to get work on .there two days.but they also put 200 plus miles on my truck and use over a half tank of fuel.not happy with that

I needed my starter fixed and everywhere else was going to charge me a lot more than what dan charged and he got me a good deal on the tow truck to get my truck to his shop i will definitely be a return customer

Dan has worked on everything of mine. This includes a corvette, audi a6, and silverado. Fixed the audi much cheaper than any other shop and when he told me what the problem was it was a different problem than any of the shops said it was. I was quoted atleast $3500 because the transmission was bad from one place. Dan found out it was the transmission controller and the car was back on the road a few days later and I only had to spend around $400 total. Saved me $3100 and I cant thank him enough for it. He will continue to be the only mechanic in town Ill let touch my cars.
