Rays Tree and Lawn Care (specifically Robert, Harold, Steve, and Dakota) were a great crew! They arrived on time, spoke with me before beginning any of the work, completed the work in a safe, professional, and timely manner, and answered all of my questions. The follow-up crews that came for the stump removal were equally as professional, and I was very pleased with the overall outcomes!

We received an estimate from the arborist for a supposedly dead tree to be removed. When the work crew arrived they said the tree was fine and we agreed to removal of a vine from the tree. They supposedly also did some trimming although, if so, it was minimal. The office has charged the full price as if the tree had been cut down and removed despite our not being informed that this would occur. If we were made aware we would have proceeded with removal as the tree is gradually encroaching on our house and will need to be removed at some point in the future. We spoke with someone from the company and they were unwilling to consider even a modest reduction in the fee. There are many tree care companies. I would suggest using another one.

Five star experience. Highly recommend the company. Estimator (arborist) came out a second time to modify the contract. Office staff professional. Job scheduler called the day before the work was scheduled to confirm and state the arrival time. Work crews arrived 10 minutes early (no problem). Work crew (four men) very good and talented. Did exactly what I wanted. Price was a good value.

They were great to talk with although they dont do my area the recommended two other companys just like Macys in Miracle on 34th street

Excellent service!!I was recommended to use Rays from a close friend who had previously had some work done. I am glad i took his advise.The crew arrived on time and in a professional manner. John was well rounded and was very in depth of the work that was being completed. 3 small trees and some overhanging brush over my driveway were removed as discussed as well as some clearance in the back yard by the pool and deck. Clean up was outstanding as well. Im impressed considering the amount of tree work and different companies that i have used in the past. Great job and very professional crew you guys sent out.Thanks alot. Will be recommending to any and everyone!

After having some not so good experiences with other tree removal companies (STL Tree Services in particular), I HIGHLY recommend Rays. They tackled a large Pin Oak removal so easily and professionally. They gave a great bid, arranged electrical line drop, had a full crew show up on time and had all the heavy machinery needed to make a monster job look easy. They cleaned up thoroughly and even followed up a few days later with laying seed where there was a very minor bit of lawn damage. Dont waste time with any other company than Rays.

The crew members are respectful, and professional. They worked quickly. They cleaned up tree, and debris really well. I will use service again if necessary!

Ben came out and gave us an estimate and informed us what to expect out of the removal and their company. They lived up to everything he promised. John and his crew got that big stump out and really went deep so we could put sod down without there being a hump in our front yard. They got rid of all the wood chips too.Everyone was very courteous and professional. I would use this company again, without a doubt.

I recently contracted Rays to remove a hazardous tree from my property and trim a few branches over my house. I received several bids and found them to be in the middle of the road price wise.My first impression of the company was a nice gentleman who thoroughly inspected my trees and surveyed the property. He was clean cut and professional.On the day of service, the men arrived and their equipment all seemed like it was well maintained and good condition. The men were dressed in what seems to be standard safety apparel. They approached me with a kind greeting and explained what approach they were taking. They explained we were welcome to watch but requested I keep all pets and people inside or at a safe distance when outside.Once work began, the men seemed to communicate well and take every precaution. It seemed safety was their priority. I watched early as limbs began to fly and was really impressed.I returned several hours later to see their progress and they seemed to be wrapping up the removal. Only a log stood where the huge oak once was.A little later they approached the trim on the side of the house with equal concern for safety of their men and my home.Once the work was complete, the whole crew began raking and blowing all the minor debris that comes with this kind of job. By the time they left, my yard seems nicer than when they showed up. And my hazard was safely eliminated.Thank you Rays for your excellent work. You will be highly recommended in the future.

They showed up promptly, removed a rather large dead tree in just 30 minutes and cleaned up nicely. I was impressed and thankful!

Rays came out and removed several dead ash tree and their stumps along with trimming a bunch of other trees on my property. Both the sales guy doing the estimate, as well as the crew doing the work, were super friendly, professional, and did a great job.

Friendly and professional crew. Easy to work with as they quickly cut down and removed tree. A few days later they came in and ground the stump and did a good clean up. Billed as quoted. I would recommend.

The worst experience I’ve ever had with a tree company. I used Ray’s years ago Work was great! Moved to new house and had to have a few trees cut down. Never scheduled a time they’d be out to cut tree down, just showed up unannounced. Not knowing they were coming, we had cars parked in driveway. Tree limbs and mulch all over cars. Would have moved cars if we knew they were coming. Called and asked them to please let me know if they are coming on property. Nope! Showed up again unannounced to grind stump. My yard is all ripped up from trucks on lawn, billed me and work is still not done. Have a huge mound of mulch where the stump was ground. Not flat like other tree removals, can’t put sod or top soil/seed over this mound. Just a mess in my backyard! I’ve called many times to ask them to finish work, say someone will call me back. I’m still waiting...Just horrible service!

Hired Rays to dead wood 4 trees. Price was by far the best, but I found out why. Ray asked to park his truck in my driveway overnight on Friday saying he would finish the job if there was no rain on Saturday. Saturday came (not a drop of rain) but no Ray. Called him and was told his daughter was sick and he could not make it. Stuck with a Giant truck in driveway for 2 days no access to garage.Ray when working has a tendency to use your tools. On the last day of the job I found my rake down the street from my house.Also each day ray did come I had to clean up their tobacco spit filled bottles, and drink cups from my yard.And Finally...the work....I feel like I have to have the same 4 trees dead wooded by a more professional company now, as Rays really only cut about 1/2 what they should have cut. 1 week after they came a giant dead branch fell out of 1 of the 4 trees onto our patio. When I called Ray about the low level of work he claimed he would come take a look. That was 4 weeks ago.Ill update this review if anything changes.

Have used Rays Tree and lawn for 20 years plus and have been satisfied every time with work performed as well as the customer service. From the women answering the phone taking my initial call to the Licensed Arborist that explained work to be done as well as the crew that performed the work. Will continue to use the BEST tree service in the St. Louis area.

We have used Rays for years for jobs large and small. They have consistently been professional, timely, and reasonably priced. They have also been very responsive. They are careful in their work and excellent at tree trimming and removal. We highly recommend them.

Will not recommend any one to use them. Their service was worst than bad. Signed contract with them in April and show up once for two hours and only did very little and since then never show back up to complete the job. Been calling yet no one took the time to return call or bother to check what is needed to be done. Is unbelievable that company of such still can be around. If i am the owner I either fire those incharge or shut the business down completely. There is no way any business should provide poor quality services to their customers.

I have used Rays Tree service many times in the past with all good experiences. However, this last service was very poor and the response from Rays was not a customer service oriented response. They did the bare minimum of limb removal and left many smaller limbs still touching my garage. They also smashed a piece of lawn art, that was a gift from my wife 20 years ago. They immediately denied doing it, which was not true, since it was in one piece when I left that morning. Rays Tree service was way below par on this job. Poor work, poor private property protection and an extremely poor response to my concerns.

They did a great job at a reasonable price. Very professional, explained the work and the costs ahead of time. Would recommend.

These guys are top notch. Very professional & they have been keeping our HUGE Maple in excellent, healthy condition for several years.

Called them to remove a damaged Silver Maple on my property line that was growing into the power lines. They informed me they were scheduling about 3 weeks out and ended up being able to fit it in within 2. They did all of the coordination with Ameren and removed the tree and all debris professionally and quickly. Their quote was far less than other bids I received. I couldnt be happier.

Did part of the job and tried billing me for everything before the work was done. Left a chunk of the stump in place we paid to have removed and when I was able to finally get a reply from Ross Parker, the sale guy, he said he would get back to me but, in Rays fashion, never did. BEWARE!!!!!

We have used Rays tree service 3 or 4 times over the past six years. One time was to remove an extremely large tree that was very close to our house and the roots were damaging a retaining wall. The other times have been to trim dead branches on our property. They have always done a great job at a reasonable rate. We have never had a problem and we will continue to use Rays tree service. The most recent experience we had with Rays included the workers going above and beyond. My kids had a rope swing that was broken and they put it back up for us! That is a company that has earned my business for life!

I would give ZERO stars if I could. Awful. Not to be trusted. If you do make the mistake of hiring him, be sure to be there when his men are working, to ensure they do what you want, and dont take the easy way.

Horrible experience with every level of this company. They will not complete all the work in the contract then dodge your calls. Dont worry while dodging your calls they are still billing you. Finally they emailed and said they wouldnt be returning. I cant believe people do business like this! Please trust all of these bad reviews! Find a better company.

Rays cut down a tree at my neighbors house, hit our house with a branch in the process, and did not bother to inspect our house for damage or come to our door to discuss it despite the fact that our front door was open and I was clearly home. They left without as much as a glance in our direction. Extremely unprofessional and shady workers.

Would not recommend at all, they really butcher the trees. Only reason I give one star is that they did come back to clean up the mess they left and the damage they did to my home. Negative experience.

It took three phone calls to them to schedule a time to meet for an estimate (they never returned my first two calls). On the day of the estimate, they called to confirm our 4:30 pm appointment, and I confirmed the time. I also specifically requested that, if they were going to arrive much later than 4:30 pm, that they call me to let me know, so I could adjust my work schedule accordingly. By 6:45 pm, they had not shown up and never called to say why. I called the office twice while waiting for them to show up, and they had evidently gone home for the day. Such unprofessionalism - I am sick and tired of it. It seems to be the norm these days.

N the spring of 2017, I hired Rays Tree Service to spray a gum tree. I was told that in order to do so, plywood would be placed on my lawn so they could get the truck close enough to the tree for propoer treatment. The truck arrived and they started spraying chemical at the tree from the truck which was still parked on the road. Shortly thereafter, a knock on the door - we cannot reach your tree so we are not going to do the job. Several days later Rays Tree Service arrives again and starts spraying chemical at the tree from the truck which AGAIN was parked on the road. I walked outside and asked why they had not placed plywood on the lawn to reach the tree. The guy told me that it was not necessary and continued to spray from a huge sdistance at a huge, fully leafed out gum tree. This winter tons of gum balls are on the ground. I contatced Rays and spoke to Bob Bushey and he said the need to place plywood on the lawn to get close enough to the tree never made it to the intruction sheet. I asked if I could get a refund. He said he would talk to the CEO. I just spoke to him after I contacted him (he never followed up on his own). He said The CEO said there is nothing that can be done. Really?

We felt taken advantage of by Rays Tree Service and would not recommend them to anyone. The agreed upon work wasnt completed, with little effort made after I called to have the situation fixed. Workers sat in their truck after the trimming was completed, so the tracking system stated they were at our home for a long time. We paid over $500 for very little actual tree trimming done- very disappointed!

Rays Tree service damages almost every property they go to. They will tell you one thing and do another very unprofessional, and they treat there employees very poorly.

Terrible customer service! Waited two weeks for call back after signing contract and no one ever called. I called them three times and they had no info and the appointment setter was out of the office all three times! How do you stay in business?
