Came in for an oil change and the tech bumper into and disconnected one of my vacuum hoses while changing my oil filter. Check engine light came up on my dash after I left. I spent an hour researching/diagnosing before locating the disconnected hose. Had I not been mechanically inclined, this could’ve been a $50-$100 diagnostic at a mechanic/dealer

Always a great experience. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly, takes the time to explain things to and help save you money. They dont make you feel pressured into purchasing any of the extra services but will explain what is needed and why. Definately recommend visiting this Valvoline for a quick efficient oil change by educated professionals!

Going to get a service for your car can often be stressful, but not at Valvoline in Kinnelon. Everytime I need to go there I feel confident that my car is in good hands. Today I had Chris, who was a balance of friendly, authentic and professional. He explained everything to me in mechanic terms and then again layman’s terms, for those like me who aren’t too familiar with car lingo. He even showed me a display of an engine on his screen, happy to answer any questions that I had. And while this was going on, He was training a new staff member while also tending to corporate staffers who happened to be paying a visit on this 95 degree busy afternoon. I am always impressed by how organized they are, like a well oiled machine. And you may be thinking how having all these people in this smaller space must be overwhelming, but the staff has a very positive, high paced energy. I always do research and find their prices to be very fair.The best thing about this place is when Chris told me (and the person he was training) that he never wants the customer to feel forced into buying anything. It is his job to supply the knowledge and information and the customer decides. 10/10 from me! Would highly recommend to anyone.

Great place, very professional. Although they didn’t have my oil filter in stock (due to having a brand new car), they topped off everything and checked my tires for no charge.I’ll definitely be back on my next scheduled maintenance.

This place is the worst. They damaged my vehicle by snapping skid plate bolts to change oil. They snapped 4 bolts you would think they would advise you after breaking the first bolt. Then they said it was because the bolts were too rusted however never produced the bolts. One of the bolts was broken stilling the frame so I need to remove it. There customer service department is a joke. My complaint was reviewed the local manager the same guy who worked on the car. If your problem isn’t resolved it may be forwarded to a district manger who can decide to close the complaint without ever contacting you. Now that customer service. Pick a different Valvoline location . I’ll be back to Jiffy Lube or my local mechanic

I have been going here since we moved to the area. Techs were very nice and it is super convenient. On my last visit the tech completed the oil change and then said you have a oil leak. Its pretty bad, your oil was very low upon arrival. I then asked why didnt you tell me when your were inspecting everything. He explained they cannot fix it, this has to be done by a mechanic. Therefore they can only advise AFTER COMPLETING THE OIL CHANGE. I brought it to the mechanic who then drained out all of the oil I just paid for fixed the leak and then charged me again for another oil change.. what a waste. Spoke with the manager at Valvoline route 23 told him if they new it was leaking why not tell me first, he explained its not there policy. WHAT A RIPOFF!! Seems they will pressure you for for things they can make money on but will not be upfront on anything else... That is not a company I want to do business with. Guess I know why he was promoted to manager and it has to do with what he sells you not what is in your best interest...

Certainly convenient and reasonable price. Quality products meeting OEM specs and fair price. With a$10 coupon, 7 quart Ill change was $52. Do it myself, oil and filter, at Wal-Mart prices is around $35. For $17, sit in your car and eat your lunch!!

They didn’t put the bolts back in the cover and it started to drag on the road. Brought it to my mechanic and he questioned me on the last person to touch my car. He told me that bolts were missing. Valvoline mechanics were the last to touch my car. I was told that this panel must be removed to do an oil change . I will never go to this business again .

My experience at the Kinnelon, NJ branch of Valvoline Instant Oil Change was excellent. The manager was the one who assisted me during the process and he went into great detail on what they do, how long it would take and even provided excellent suggestions on future work. From that point, I was truly amazed with the coordination of the technicians in the pit and the staff above ground--it was like a well orchestrated dance! They checked, double checked and triple checked everything. You can hear them call out to each other when asking for and installing parts and the oil. The price was very reasonable and it only took 10 minutes (as promised). I would definitely recommend them and would assuredly return to this facility.

I really recommend this place for your oil changes. They check all the parts of your car while you there. Things like the battery, AC, tires, coolant and windshield fluids. They recommend oil stabilizer if needed. Very good mechanics.

So I’m just gonna just say this. We went to go get our tires changed when I saw a short male take my car down with the jack and slide it next to a customers Range Rover and the metal handle of the back came crashing sideways on the rovers right taillight causing a huge gouge and he didn’t do anything about it. Just looked at the manager and went home. Who so ever owns what beautiful white Range Rover my heart goes out to you.

Told me the issues I had/they thought needed to be fixed but very transparently said that nothing needed fixing immediately and I could get a second opinion from my normal mechanic. Didnt feel like I was being sold to or anything, just felt like everyone there was trying to help me out and were being super nice about it

I expect due to the speedy service to pay a little more but lately I can barely get out of there for less than a 100 every time I go. This past time I needed a wiper so I decided to get 2 new ones and just thought that 45$ to snap in 2 wipers was excessive . The guys do good a nice job but I just wish it was a bit more reasonable.

I came in today before work and thought I was going to be late because I left home a half hour later than I wanted to. I got there, Matt & Matt started right away and I got to work on time this morning! They were kind, courteous, and professional! Thanks fellas, see you soon!!!

I went here because of the reviews. Im waiting in line and you have to wait for the attendant to call you in. The rep told the car behind me to come in. Meanwhile the reps did nothing. I waited 30 mins for nothing.

Amazing, as always. They are quick, efficient and honest. And I had the pleasure of watching one of the older technicians train a newer technician and he was patient and kind, while still making sure my needs were met in a timely fashion.

They did the oil change fine. However, the up-selling is over the top. My car is maintained by a family member with a repair shop but since I was passing Valvoline I thought Id go in (Ive been there numerous times).My car normally gets synthetic blend, but the tech at Valvoline insisted it requires full synthetic. When I questioned him he showed me the computer screen with a promo and said look, the computer says it requires synthetic. After I left, I looked it up and no where (car manual or online) does it say full synthetic required. The additional up-selling is very annoying. In that one visit it was suggested I replace my rear wiper, my air filter, perform an engine flush, air conditioner system treatment and some other things I cant remember.Lastly, even though I got the full Synthetic, the tech put a sticker for oil change at 3k miles. He insisted that even though its full synthetic to come back at 3k miles. Again, google disagrees with this saying you can get more miles with synthetic.

Lost faith. Would not refund an oil change after damaging my car. Was a regular customer for years. Wont be going back.

My girlfriend had her oil changed here on 9/9/2019, and Chris and Jose D were way beyond helpful, they didn’t push any sales on her and had the wrong dip stick in and Chris told her it was bad and flicked it. They made sure everything was ready to go before she left, I was gonna do the oil change but valvoline had a great deal. They were quick and I would recommend this place highly and make sure you ask for Jose or Chris because they are very helpful.

Generally pretty quick cost-effective oil change. They are pretty straight forward about any additional services your car might need. Not pushy about that stuff. I do miss the goo old days of the $20 off full synthetic oil change as opposed to the $10 coupon the seem to be utilizing. I always take the wifes car there for its oil changes.

Nice enough people. Oil change done in about 20 min including wait. I didnt like the pressure telling me my vehicle requires synthetic, and that my cabin filter was dirty after 15k miles. Regular oil is fine for a Honda and the cabin filter is grey from the factory, it doesnt mean its dirty. By the time you are done its a $60 or $75 bill. I now go to Mieneke, where at $19.95 plus tax etc, and Im out the door in 20 minutes spending leas than $25 .

Great oil changing service ... except for the fact that one of their mechanics did not properly instal the o ring. I had a dangerous oil leak on a 5 hour road trip the next day, my engine only survived because I added oil everytime I stopped. Go here if you want to destroy your engine!!

Went for an oil change today at this place for the first time and I was very pleased! Matt helped me out and was very knowledgeable and extremely thorough!! Took maybe 10ish minutes. I will be coming back here for my future car needs!

Have multiple cars that I have been taking here for a few years now. I love the fact that I can be in and out in 20 minutes without getting out of my car. They fill all the fluids, check tire pressure as well as lights and directional. Never any pressure to buy anything that I do not want. I usually get a discount post card when my car is due for its next oil change as well as a reminder e mail. I like that. I just have to remember not to go during their busier times like late AM and early afternoon as I do not like to wait when I go there. I try to go first thing in the AM. I am in and out in no time most of the time. Good value for the service with the discount post card that I get. I recommend them to everyone. Friendly service as well.

Should stick to just changing the oil and stop trying to upsell things. Took my work vehicle there for oil change left with that plus tire rotation, rear wiper blade, and new battery. They told me my alternator was bad. When i got home i checked it myself the proper way and it was working just fine, dont think i even needed the battery.

It’s frustrating to come here. I could change my own oil if I could, but with where I live, both my street and driveway are sloped, so I come here for the convenience. All I ever want is an oil change and nothing more. Instead they push you for other pricey services that you don’t need. And then another, and then another. And when you tell them, “No, thank you”, they act as if you’ve offended them based by their mannerisms. I understand from previous comments that they want to be fair and honest, I get it, any company would want to acknowledge that, but at what point do you pull back and just help the customer with what they came for and let them be? I would rather recommend going to That 10 Minute Oil Change Place. They are straight to the point, oil change is done, and off your merry way.

In and out in 15 mins. Prices are on the high side but the speed which they get you in and out is worth the added cost.

Way overpriced and they are always trying to get you to do additional work which you may not need. They are very pushy and take advantage of people who may not realize what they are offering isnt necessary at that time or at all. They also lie about how long you can go without another oil change. If you buy an extended life oil it does not need to be changed in two thousand miles. Thats the purpose of buying that type of oil. However they still put on the sticker that you should return in two thousand miles. If you have the opportunity to use a qualified mechanic youll save money and get much better advice. The only real Pro I can point out is that they are convenient.

This place is full of complete scam artist. My wife went there for the first time for a BASIC oil change. They put in the most expensive stuff they had. Then I called in and the manager is just a joke the whole place is a joke saying they ask a customer what they want first ? She doesnt know the difference between an oil plug Filter or whatever? She specifically asked for a basic oil change so you should know what that means. BASIC OIL instead they put in the expensive oil and charged double the normal price of a regular oil change. If it werent for my wife stopping me I would have went down there myself to deal with it. But you know what it will satisfy me more to just cancel my Fleet account with them. Totally dishonest. If you dont know anything about what your doing when you go for an oil change then DONT GO HERE because they will get you for your money.

They changed my oil just fine, courteous, but then they decided to completely over charge me to change the cabin filter. A 5 minute job with a $13 filter they charged $43.. i know i had a right to refuse, i should have known better... It wont happen again. Buyer beware, DIY cabin filter change is a fraction of a cost... Just a heads up

I was in a jam while traveling through. Stopped to see if they could repair a leaky tire. They couldnt do it, but they gave me enough air with directions to PEP BOYS and they didnt even charge me! Nice, honest guys working there.

Interesting experience. They tried hard to keep selling other products including air filter (replaced months ago) and engine cleaner. If you use a Groupon, you will still need to shell money out for an oil change to account for the tax. Otherwise it is really a show with lots of people yelling from various bays on what part of the car they are checking or servicing. They are pricey unless you have a steep coupon. $81.99 for full synthetic oil change&filter without coupon. I’d come here again if I can get another steep discount.

Been there twice. The first time they cracked the bolt for my air box and didnt say anything about it, and now this past trip they left my battery terminal loose after doing the battery test leaving me stranded on the side of the road later that day. Seemed like the staff was more about goofing off with each other than paying attention to what they were doing. If your going to charge $85 dollars for an oil change then at least do it right.

Ive been going here for years and have always been happy...always paid around $30...this time I was shown a screen and asked if I wanted same oil Id used...so I said yes...well...it obviously wasnt what I usually used...they put the synthetic in at a cost of almost $80.00...Feel I was definitely screwed over this time
